Batman had been experiencing a rising amount of success. He had learned several attacks moves, thanks to the help of his trainer, Ra's al Ghul. Also, his investigating skills were getting better and better. Batman was planning on using his mental and physical strength, so that he could defeat his enemy, Professor Hugo Strange. Hugo Strange was the Principal of Arkham Asylum, but he was also the school's most dangerous and corrupt person. He was spreading problems to the school, thanks to his petty schemes and the aid of one of his fellow professors, Jonathan Crane, better known as the Scarecrow.

During his previous days of school, Batman used a limo to get to school. However, he had a much different ride, this time. He parked a dark-blue car. It was unlike any car his classmates had ever seen. It was also unlike any car, that anybody had ever seen, in general.

Batman went into the school. His classmates used to be afraid of him, because of Professor Crane's manipulative rumors. However, Batman earned the trust of more students after he defeated Deathstroke. Some students became even more afraid of him, but overall, Batman had become a better respected student.

Batman walked up to his best friend, Poison Ivy, and said, "Hi, Ivy. How's it going?"

Poison Ivy replied, "Not bad. I saw your new car."

Batman smiled and asked, "Do you like it?"

Poison Ivy answered, "It looks really cool. Where did you get it from?"

Lucius Fox made it for Batman, but Batman made sure to leave out that detail to protect his secret identity. He said, "It's a personally-made car. I named it the Batmobile. When I become a full-time detective, I think I'll use the Batmobile to search the city for crime."

Poison Ivy replied, "Sounds like you're making a lot of progress."

Batman responded, "You could say that."

Harley Quinn started jumping to Batman and Ivy. She asked, "Did you guys hear that we're getting a new classmate?"

Poison Ivy answered, "No."

Batman said, "I hope this new student isn't another trouble. We've had quite a few wise-guys and troublemakers in the past."

Harley replied, "I broke into a room and listened to Principal Strange and Firefly talk about her. I've heard good things."

Batman responded, "If that's the case, we better watch out." Ivy nodded.

Harley had a confused look on her face, while asking, "Why? Do you guys hate good things?"

Batman answered, "I usually don't, but Principal Strange doesn't have very good or normal opinions. If he's excited about this new student, then we better watch out."

A few minutes later, Batman and his friends went to Professor Crane's class. Professor Crane angrily stared at them, while his pet, Man-Bat, growled at them. Batman asked, "Is there a problem with not being late?"

Professor Crane said, "Don't act so confident, Batman. After all, I want you to be very afraid. Anyways, while you may not be late, you're pushing your luck. The bell's going to ring in a few seconds. I expect you to show up early."

Batman sat down and asked, "Any reason?"

Professor Crane walked closer to him and said, "I'm the best professor at Arkham Asylum."

Batman replied, "That sounds shiver down my spine."

Professor Crane had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "What a delightful sentiment. Scaring my students is one of my favorite hobbies. Everybody, don't make any noise and don't goof around. I have a presentation to show and I guarantee it'll scare your socks off." He did an evil laugh.

Professor Crane's class was interrupted by the appearance of Professor Hugo Strange, who was with the new student. Crane sighed and said, "With all due respect, you're interrupting my class."

Hugo Strange replied, "This won't take away too much of your class time, but I do have two pieces of news. First off, I'm introducing Arkham Asylum's newest student, Rose Wilson." Poison Ivy was surprised to have a classmate, who had her nickname.

Batman and the others took a look at Rose. She had gray hair, a red shirt, black pants, and an eye-patch. She had a serious look on her face. Some people thought she looked exhausted, while others thought she looked angry.

Professor Crane looked excited, while asking, "Is she easy to scare?"

Rose folded her arms and said, "I'm not scared so easily."

Professor Crane grumpily replied, "I see." He paused and said, "However, I guess that makes you an interesting challenge. I look forward to terrifying you."

Rose sarcastically replied, "You're a classic gentleman."

Hugo Strange said, "Rose is a very talented and mildly-friendly person. I'm sure she's going to accomplish big things." He looked back at Rose and said, "You can go sit. Feel free to pick any desk."

Rose replied, "Whatever you say, dude." Rose sat across from Batman.

Hugo looked at the students and said, "I have a second piece of news."

Professor Crane angrily asked, "Will you get on with it? I have students to give nightmares to."

Hugo gave Crane an intimidating glare and replied, "You may be the leader of this classroom, but don't forget who the leader of this school is." Even Crane was a little scared of Hugo, so he stopped complaining. Hugo looked back at the students and said, "Arkham Asylum's prom is in two weeks. It'll be a fun and very party, hosted by yours truly. Students, who attend, might get extra-credit points and students, who don't show-up, will have a lower grade."

Batman glared at Hugo Strange, while wondering what scheme was involved with the prom. Hugo seemed insistent on getting students there, so Batman figured he had something up his sleeves. He put his hand on his chin, while thinking about it.

After class was over, Batman started walking to his locker, while having a lot on his mind. Poison Ivy walked by him and said, "Hugo Strange was acting suspicious."

Batman replied, "That's typical of him, but this time, I feel he has something extra-sneaky planned."

Poison Ivy asked, "Do you have any idea what he's planning?"

Batman shook his head and said, "I'm afraid not."

Hugo Strange walked by and replied, "I couldn't help overhearing."

Batman turned around and responded, "That's easy for you to do, since you have security cameras in every inch of the school."

Hugo said, "You can never be too careful."

Batman replied, "Believe me, I know. Me and the other students always have to beware of you."

Hugo tried to look as friendly as possible, while saying, "You seem to be under the impression, that I'm a misguided, corrupt person."

Batman replied, "That's what you are, in addition to a few other things."

Hugo responded, "There's no need for childish name-calling, Mr. Batman. I'm the Principal, so I'm a very caring person. The point of this prom is to give the students a wholesome, fun time. I don't have any other motives. If you want to investigate me and do your silly detective stuff, go ahead, but I'm as innocent as possible."

Batman could hardly believe how unconvincing Hugo's lies had become. Hugo had become paranoid about Batman being smarter than him, so he tried to trick Batman. However, Batman said, "I'm not falling for your nonsense. You have something planned. There's going to be trouble at the prom and that's why I'm going to be there."

Hugo replied, "That sounds about right. When trouble happens at Arkham Asylum, you tend to be involved."

Batman angrily asked, "Are you accusing me of being responsible for this school's shady actions?"

Hugo answered, "You should be asking yourself that. After all, you're responsible for your own actions. Instead of blaming me, how about blaming yourself?" He started walking away.

Poison Ivy looked at Batman and asked, "Is everything okay?"

Batman answered, "Arkham Asylum's never okay, when Hugo Strange is up to something." He put his hand over his face and said, "Being in Arkham is hard."

Poison Ivy put her hand on Batman's shoulder and said, "I know it's hard and there's a lot of problematic people, but you always have me."

Batman replied, "I appreciate it, Rose."

Rose Wilson walked and said, "What?"

Batman replied, "My apologies. I wasn't talking to you. My friend's nickname is Rose."

Rose had an uncaring look on her face, while asking, "Really?"

Poison Ivy stuck her hand out and said, "It's nice to meet you. I'm Poison Ivy."

Rose reluctantly shook hands with her and replied, "I'm Rose Wilson." She walked away.

Poison Ivy looked back at Batman and said, "I'm not getting good vibes from her."

Batman replied, "You're not alone, when it comes to feeling that way." Batman noticed that Rose had the same last name as Deathstroke. He was worried about Rose being related to him.

The next night, Carmine Falcone, Gotham's top mob boss, was having a meeting with some greedy businessmen. A mysterious figure lurked in the shadows. The businessmen had been instructed to not pay attention to the mysterious person, until the time was right.

Carmine said, "Gentlemen, I've been Gotham's best man, for years. I know that Bruce Wayne has been rising in popularity, thanks to his charity events and parties, but you must give your business to me. Bruce Wayne's popularity is a fad. I'm here to stay."

Sal Maroni replied, "That's great and all, but how can we trust you?"

Carmine had a sneaky smile, while signaling to the mysterious person. The person popped out of the shadows. The businessmen finally got to look at him. He was wearing a red costume and he appeared to have a third eye. He always spoke in an intimidating tone of voice, but the others hadn't heard him speak. Carmine said, "Gentlemen, this is Spellbinder, the world's most powerful hypnotist. I'm going to use him to take control of Gotham's wealthiest citizens. If you want to be a part of my riches rising, I suggest investing in me."

Suddenly, Rose burst through the roof and landed on the meeting table. Carmine had a surprised look on his face, while saying, "Rose, this isn't a place for moody millennials."

Rose pointed her sword at him and replied, "Stay out of my way, old man. I have no desire to attack you." She pointed to Spellbinder and said, "I just came for him."

Spellbinder seemed intrigued, while saying, "You have a lot of guts, to mess with such powerful forces."

Carmine pointed a gun at Rose and said, "Get out of here. I don't want to hurt you, so let's end this peacefully."

Rose used her sword to cut the gun apart and replied, "That's peaceful by my standards."

Spellbinder responded, "It's been a long time since I've seen somebody do such daring things."

Rose menacingly said, "If you're wise, you'll come with me."

Spellbinder replied, "I'm very wise and captivated by your bravery. I will accompany you, as long as I still get paid."

Rose responded, "You will." She grabbed him and said, "Let's go." She jumped to the top of the roof, while still carrying Spellbinder.

Spellbinder looked down and asked, "You're not going to try jumping to the ground, are you?"

Rose smiled and said, "I sure am." She started jumping off the building.

Meanwhile, Sofia Falcone checked up on her father and asked, "Shall we send some men after Rose and have them save Spellbinder?"

Carmine answered, "It'd be best not to get Rose angry. I have enough people, who want to get rid of me." Carmine started walking away, while still determined to remain Gotham's top businessman.

Rose managed to jump to the ground, without getting hurt. Spellbinder said, "That was incredibly dangerous."

Rose replied, "My father taught me to take risks. I've done things you could never imagine."

Spellbinder responded, "I see. So, what was your reason of taking me?"

Rose said, "Your powers will come in handy, when I start my mission."

Spellbinder asked, "What is your mission?"

Rose answered, "To destroy the Batman."

The next morning, Batman and the others were in Professor Crane's classroom. Professor Crane had been annoyed by how much class time Hugo Strange used up, during the previous day. Crane faced his students and said, "Now that class has begun, we can start getting things done. I don't intend on having another class day wasted. You're going to be working for the entire class-period and I'm expecting lots of homework and scares." He did an evil laugh, while his students started sighing and whining.

Professor Hugo Strange walked into the classroom. Crane facepalmed, because he feared Hugo Strange would waste more class-time. Hugo Strange faced Crane and the students and said, "Hi guys. I have an important announcement to make."

Professor Crane grumpily asked, "Couldn't you just use the intercom, instead of interrupting everybody's class-time?"

Hugo put his hand on his chin and said, "Oh, I hadn't thought of that." Man-Bat started laughing at him. Hugo said, "Hey, he better cut that out."

Professor Crane had a smug smile on his face, while replying, "My apologies, Principal Strange. I don't have control over what he does."

Hugo replied, "You wanted him to laugh at me, didn't you?"

Professor Crane and Man-Bat both smirked, while Crane said, "That's a hard thing to prove, don't you think?"

Hugo sternly replied, "You better watch your own actions, Professor Crane."

Professor Crane responded, "I'll always be loyal to your commands, Principal Strange." He instructed Man-Bat to nod in agreement.

Hugo faced the students and said, "Anyways, I have an important announcement about the prom." Batman made sure to listen, in case Hugo accidentally said anything about his true intentions. Hugo said, "Today's classes are going to be shorter."

Professor Crane angrily asked, "Why?"

Hugo calmly explained, "Because there's an extra class period today, that's about the prom."

Batman raised his hand and asked, "What are we going to do, during that class?"

Hugo said, "All of the students will be allowed to go into the hallway, so they can ask someone to the prom." The students thought it was a weird idea.

Batman was mighty suspicious of it. He asked, "What if we don't want to ask anybody out?"

Hugo walked closer to Batman and said, "You don't seem to understand the rules of Arkham Asylum. When your superiors instruct you to do something, you're supposed to follow their commands. If you don't, you'll get worser and worser grades. This is a very simple assignment. Although some of my students are very mediocre and unlikely to get a date, I have confidence in a majority of you."

A few hours later, Batman and the others went to the cafeteria. The cook put heart-shaped eggs on Batman's tray. Batman looked confused, while asking, "What's up with the new eggs?"

The cook answered, "They're for celebrating the egg-coming prom. You better crack-open your confidence and scramble yourself a date. Otherwise, your head will get hit with a frying pan."

Batman said, "If you say so." He walked away from the egg-obsessed cook and sat next to Poison Ivy.

After they greeted each other, Poison Ivy said, "So, what do you think about the prom?"

Batman replied, "It seems very suspicious. An entire class-period for asking people out? No school has ever done that before. To be fair, Arkham Asylum has done plenty of original things, but this is one of the stranger ones."

Poison Ivy asked, "What do you think Hugo Strange is planning?"

Batman had a serious look on his face, while saying, "Something corrupt, maybe even evil."

Poison Ivy asked, "Are you sure about that? Hugo Strange is certainly a creep and he has done a lot of shady things, but do you think he's evil?"

Batman answered, "I hope not, but it's a strong possibility."
