After all of Arkham Asylum's regular classes had ended, it was time for the extra class, which was for students to ask somebody to the prom. The students were allowed to go into the hallways, which they were excited about. Several of them took advantage of this freedom, by running around and goofing off, rather than doing what they were supposed to do.

The Clock King, who was one of the teachers, went into the hallway, so he could stop kids from goofing. He sternly said, "You kids better stop goofing around and start doing what Principal Strange asked you to do. You're wasting time, which is something that drives me crazy."

Poison Ivy looked at Harley Quinn and said, "I think I know who you're going to ask."

Harley Quinn replied, "Yeah, I got to ask out Joker."

Poison Ivy wanted to respect Harley's personal choices, but she wasn't okay with her dating the Joker. The Joker was a scoundrel, so Ivy wanted Harley to stay away from him. Harley was usual loyal to Ivy's wishes, but she ignored her warnings.

Harley walked up to the Joker. She smiled, while saying, "I got something important to ask you."

The Joker asked, "What's on your ditzy mind?"

Harley asked, "Will you go to prom with me?"

The Joker smiled and said, "Of course I will." He put her hand on Harley's shoulder and said, "You are my number-one girl."

Harley hugged Joker and said, "You're the best."

The Joker had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "That's an undeniable fact." He started doing a crazy sounding laugh.

Poison Ivy walked over to Batman. She knew she wanted Batman to be her prom-date, but she was nervous about asking him. She was Batman's best friend and she didn't want to make things awkward, but there was nobody she'd rather go to prom with more.

Batman turned around and said, "Hi, Rose."

Rose Wilson glared at him and asked, "What?"

Batman explained, "I was talking to Poison Ivy. Rose is my nickname for her."

Rose replied, "Whatever."

Batman looked back at Ivy and asked, "What's up?"

Poison Ivy asked, "Do you have date to the prom?"

Batman said, "Not yet. To be honest, I don't really want to go to the prom. My real reason for going there is to find out what Hugo Strange's master plan is. He's been advertising this prom and has been forcing his students to participate in it, so I know he has something planned. He insists that everybody try to get a date for the prom, so I just need somebody to do a few small dances with me and stuff like that. Most of my prom night will be spent doing detective work."

Poison Ivy asked, "Then how about we go together? That way, neither of has to go around and search for a real date."

Batman smiled and replied, "That's a great idea. You're the best."

Poison Ivy blushed and responded, "Thank you."

Harley came back, while looking happier than usual. She said, "Joker agreed to go out with me."

Poison Ivy replied, "Harley, you really should stay with him. He's not a good person."

Harley responded, "He may not be very honorable, but he really does love me."

Meanwhile, the Joker walked around the hallways, while chuckling at his fellow classmates. He found his best friend, the Penguin, who was trying to ask out Catwoman.

The Penguin said, "Catwoman, you have such gorgeous claws."

Catwoman replied, "Whatever."

The Penguin said, "Speaking of attractive stuff, I'm hot." Catwoman stuck her tongue out, while Joker tried not to burst into laughter. Penguin looked confused, while asking, "How could you not be impressed by charm? I'm a Cobblepot, so I'm loaded with cash."

Catwoman slyly replied, "I dig your money, but I don't dig your looks. If you looked less like a bird and more like a cat, I'd be interested."

The Penguin thought about it and asked, "If I dressed up as a cat, would you go out with me?"

Catwoman answered, "Nah, you're gross." Penguin angrily squawked, while Joker laughed.

The Joker walked up to Penguin and said, "You bombed, Pengy-Wengy."

Penguin replied, "I sure did. I thought I was the gentleman of charm."

The Joker responded, "You're a cool guy and all, but you're more like the gentleman of crime."

The Joker pranced to Catwoman and asked, "What's up, cat?"

Catwoman answered, "I'm trying to find the purrfect date."

Joker had a mischievous smile on his face, while asking, "How about going for a flawed, but fun date, instead?"

Catwoman asked, "Are you actually trying to ask me out?"

The Joker answered, "You could say that."

Catwoman asked, "Aren't you going out with Harley?"

The Joker said, "Yes, but what she doesn't know won't hurt her. That statement has never been accurate, but it's been a convenient loophole."

Catwoman replied, "Wow, you're quite the corrupt clown."

The Joker said, "I sure am."

Catwoman scratched a part of Joker's jacket, while saying, "You suck."

The Joker had a lollipop in his mouth, while saying, "I sure do." He did another crazy laugh.

Meanwhile, Penguin walked to Rose. He handed her a rose and asked, "What do you think?"

Rose glared at it and asked, "Why did you give me a flower?"

The Penguin said, "Your name is Rose and that's a rose. It's symbolic."

Rose replied, "That's stupid."

The Penguin said, "Speaking of stupid, I have something to ask you."

Rose sighed and asked, "What is it?"

The Penguin asked, "Will you go to the prom with me?"

Rose had an offended look on her face, while asking, "You think I would want to go out with you?"

The Penguin nervously started sweating, while saying, "I was hoping so. I thought I had a slim chance, but I figured I'd give it a try. Don't beat me up."

Rose saw how desperate Penguin, so she figured she should go easy on him. She said, "I'm sorry, Penguin, but you aren't my type. I hope you find the girl you're looking for."

The Penguin was surprised, because he was used to much harsher reactions. He said, "Oh, thank you. I hope you find the guy you're looking for."

Rose gave Penguin the rose back and said, "I don't deserve this. Find somebody more worthy and give it to them."

The Penguin replied, "Whatever you say." He started walking away.

The Riddler jumped to Rose, while having an immature look on his face. Rose sighed and asked, "Are you going to try, to ask me out?"

The Riddler said, "Riddle me this: Who predicated what I was planning on doing, before I said anything?"

Rose replied, "That's not a riddle. That's just a normal question."

The Riddler responded, "Riddle me this: Who's disappointed, because of a person's constructive criticism? Answer: Me."

Professor Hugo Strange walked up to Batman. Batman felt chills when he was around Hugo Strange, so his sudden arrival was an uncomfortable surprise. Batman stared at Hugo and asked, "What do you want?"

Hugo answered, "I was curious to know your prom situation. Have you asked anybody out yet?"

Batman said, "I'm going with Poison Ivy."

Hugo replied, "Ah, I should of suspected that. After all, you two have a lot of chemistry and a very close relationship."

Batman said, "We're best friends, so don't jump to any conclusions."

Hugo replied, "Batman, jumping to conclusions is one of my favorite hobbies. Besides, your love for Ivy is painfully obvious."

Batman tried to keep track of what Hugo said. He was wondering what type of mind-game Hugo was trying to play with him. He tried to keep his confidence, in order to keep Hugo from winning. Batman said, "Ivy and I are friends, so let's leave it at that."

Hugo asked, "Friends? Do you think that's what you and her really want to be? Is there any girl who you have a closer relationship with?"

Batman answered, "No."

Hugo asked, "Is there any girl you find prettier?"

Batman answered, "Not really."

Hugo intrusively asked, "If you could date anybody you wanted, you'd pick Ivy, wouldn't you?"

Batman angrily said, "Stop it with the mind games. I'm not going to let you win."

Hugo replied, "I believe I am the winner, Mr. Batman. After all, you're such a lousy detective, that you haven't even realized you have a crush on your friend. You're a formidable opponent, but nobody has ever outsmarted Hugo Strange."

Batman confidently responded, "Then I'm going to change history, by breaking your precious record."

Hugo had a big grin on his face, while saying, "I look forward to you trying."

Batman replied, "You're going down."

Hugo responded, "No, you're the one who will fall to the ground." Batman angrily glared at Hugo, while walking away.

Meanwhile, Rose had a prom-related plan of her own. She was planning on avenging her father, Deathstroke, by getting rid of Batman, during the prom. She was planning on using Spellbinder's hypnotic powers, to assist her mission.

After getting home, Rose wanted to get some sleep, so she'd have energy for her upcoming fight with Batman. However, she started having a dream about her father.

In her dream, Deathstroke appeared in front of her. Rose was confused and nervous while saying, "Dad, how are you here? Batman got rid of you."

Deathstroke replied, "That's true, but I needed to make a quick pitstop, by visiting you. I hear you're trying to avenge me. Getting rid of Batman is certainly admirable, but you won't earn my respect."

Rose asked, "Why not?"

Deathstroke took off Rose's eye-patch, to reveal that both of her eyes were perfectly fine. Deathstroke said, "You want to honor me, by being like me. However, I find that disrespectful. I'm the best, Rose. Batman destroying doesn't ruin my reputation. I'm Ra's al Ghul's best student."

Rose replied, "I just want to live up to your image."

Deathstroke responded, "You've never had what it takes and frankly, I doubt you'll ever learn."

Rose felt hurt, but she was still determined. She said, "Father, I'm afraid you're wrong. I'm going to show my true potential and be something amazing."

Deathstroke coldly replied, "You're nothing special. If you'd admit that, the world would be a more peaceful dream."

Rose woke up. She felt anxiety, because of her dream. However, her mind and body were still filled with determination. She was still planning on getting rid of the Batman.

Batman and his classmates were in Professor Crane's class. Crane looked desperate. His plan had been interrupted two days in a row, thanks to Hugo Strange. He was hoping that wouldn't happen again. He looked at his students and said, "Let's get this class going. I can't tolerate anymore interruptions from Principal Strange."

Hugo Strange walked into the classroom and said, "I'm sorry for this interruption, but there's a matter that needs to be discussed." Professor Crane angrily screamed and walked out of the classroom.

Batman asked, "Should I bring him back?"

Hugo answered, "No need to bother with that. His assistance won't be needed."

Batman asked, "What's going on?"

Hugo faced the students and said, "During yesterday's school-day, you were given the assignment of finding a prom-date. Due to all the chaos that happened, it's hard to figure out if all the students got a date. In order to make things simpler, I want you to write name of your date on a slip of paper."

Rose thought about and realized that she hadn't gotten a date. She had been busy on her plan of getting rid of Batman and she had rejected every guy that asked her. She raised her hand and said, "Principal Strange, I'm in a bit of a problem."

Hugo had an intrigued look on his face, while asking, "Really? What problem are you dealing with, Ms. Wilson?" Hearing that last name reminded Batman of Slade Wilson, better known as Deathstroke. Batman had suspected Rose of being related to Deathstroke. After taking a closer look at her, he still thought that was a possibility. He still didn't know the truth and he felt it was something he should eventually figure out.

Rose said, "I don't have a prom date."

Hugo replied, "I see. Is there anything you can do about it?"

Rose responded, "Well, there's a special guy in my life. He's not my boyfriend and he barely counts as a friend. However, he has a powerful thing on his forehead, that looks like a third eye. I know he doesn't go to the school, but can I bring him along?"

Hugo replied, "That sounds like a wonderful idea." Batman was suspicious about Hugo's decisions. He was starting to think that Rose was a part of Hugo's master plan. Hugo often decided on whether or not a student could join, based on how useful and/or interesting they were to him.

After Professor Crane's class was over, Batman walked up to Hugo and said, "There's a matter I want to discuss with you."

Hugo turned around and replied, "Ah, I love discussing such things. What's on your intrusive, but fascinating mind?"

Batman tried to verbally threaten Hugo, by saying, "I know what you have planned and I'm going to stop it and bring it down."

Hugo replied, "Your bravery knows no limits, Mr. Batman. Such aggressive boldness is something I admire, but it's something that can lead to your downfall."

Batman sternly responded, "You're the one who's going to have a downfall. I know that Rose is a part of your plan. You want her to fight me, don't you?"

Hugo tried to look as innocent as possible, while saying, "I don't know what you're talking about and I don't know why you'd accuse me of such things."

Batman grabbed Hugo and replied, "I know you only care about your students, because you like analyzing them and watch them be eccentric. You don't have good goals in mind. You just want cheap amusement."

Hugo responded, "If I wanted cheap amusement, I'd go to the fair or the movies. I seek something far greater, Mr. Batman."

Batman asked, "What are you seeking?"

Hugo said, "Knowledge, the knowledge that I'm surrounded by Gotham's greatest wackos and they're all helpless cases, for me to control and examine."

Batman angrily replied, "I see. You're obsessed with power, in addition to being crazy."

Hugo pointed to the students walking by and responded, "They're the crazy ones. I couldn't be more normal."

Batman could hardly believe what he was hearing. Although Hugo Strange was his smartest opponent, he often relied n unconvincing lies. Batman said, "You founded a school, just so you can be entertained by Gotham's abnormal citizens. You're crazier than most of your students and that's something you should be scared about."

Hugo replied, "I'm not an easily scared person, Mr. Batman. Professor Crane often tries to freak me out, which leads to epic fails. Speaking of epic fails, how's your training going?"

Batman glared at him and responded, "Your insults are childish."

Hugo asked, "What's wrong with that? Children can be a brilliant source of lifeforms. Like most people you underestimate them, but more importantly, you underestimate me. Not taking Hugo Strange seriously is one of the biggest mistakes you could ever make." He walked away, while trying to look intimidating.

After school, Rose Wilson visited Spellbinder, who was at his temple. Rose looked around and saw a well-decorated place, full of study books and eye-related statues and paintings. Rose looked around and saw Spellbinder meditating. She said, "We need to talk."

Spellbinder talked in his menacing sounding voice, while asking, "How can I help you?"

Rose asked, "Can you speak in a more friendly tone?"

Spellbinder explained, "I'm stuck with this voice. It's one of the side-effects from my third eye. Most people would call it a bad thing, but I certainly don't. Anyways, what's on your dangerous mind?"

Rose said, "The prom is in less than two weeks."

Spellbinder sarcastically replied, "Sounds epic."

Rose folded her arms and said, "Believe me, I wouldn't normally be excited for a prom."

Spellbinder jokingly replied, "You look like someone, who'd wear a fancy dress, put on mountains of lipstick, and go out with the cutest boys."

Rose angrily gritted her teeth and asked, "Can we get on with this?!"

Spellbinder said, "Yes, what do you want to discuss?"

Rose replied, "I want to get rid of Batman, while at the prom. All students have to bring someone with them, so I'll bring you along and you can hypnotize Batman into surrendering to me."

Spellbinder continued meditating, while saying, "Sounds shady. Are you just going to beat-up Batman or are you going to get rid of him?"

Rose replied, "He's going to suffer the same fate, that my father did. If anything, he's going to suffer an even harder form of revenge."

Spellbinder lightly smirked and responded, "Sounds most intriguing. A classic way of getting revenge."

Rose asked, "Are you willing to help me with that?"

Spellbinder answered, "That's a very extreme request. In order for me to risk my reputation, I'd need a large sum of money."

Rose presented a suitcase of money and replied, "That'll be yours, after I get rid of the Batman. What do you think of that?"

Spellbinder answered, "Sounds like an excellent plan." He shook hands with Rose.

Rose had a confused look on her face, while saying, "I probably shouldn't be asking this, but why are you agreeing to help me? If you wanted to, you could hypnotize me into giving you the money, without having to help me stop Batman."

Spellbinder replied, "I've considered taking that easier-sounding approach before. However, after thinking it over, I realize it would make things harder for me. If I constantly robbed my clients, word would get around and I'd become a wanted criminal."

Rose responded, "No offense, but you are a criminal."

Spellbinder replied, "I am a criminal, but not a wanted one. Because I do favors for my fellow bad guys, I get good word of mouth and people keep hiring. If you're going to follow a life of crime, you need to know such things."

Rose asked, "A life of crime? That's not really my thing."

Spellbinder felt confused. He wondered if Rose was gullible or was just a liar. He said, "You're trying to destroy Batman. Doesn't that count as a criminal act?"

Rose sternly replied, "No it doesn't. Batman destroyed my father, so I'm being fair and I'm honoring my father's memory."

Spellbinder had heard of Deathstroke before. He was an infamous name and was highly-regarded by the criminals of Gotham. He said, "Your father was quite the criminal. If you want to honor his memory, aren't you going to follow his path?"

Rose started throwing swords at a dartboard, while saying, "I'm not fond of criminal acts. My more shady actions are for my father, no other reason."

Spellbinder replied, "I suspect there's more than that. You want to earn his approval and since he's no longer here, your only option is to get rid of his greatest opponent."

Rose examined Spellbinder, while wondering what he was trying to do. He had asked her a lot of questions, which were unrelated to what Rose had hired him for. He could of been trying to help her, but he could of also been trying to troll her. Either way, she didn't want to deal with more of it. She said, "That's enough chatter, at least for now. I'll see you at the prom."

Spellbinder jokingly asked, "Should I wear a tuxedo?"

Rose angrily answered, "I don't give a crap."

Spellbinder sarcastically said, "Wow, what a charming way of wording yourself." Rose ignored him and walked out, while using a sword to break a batarang.

Batman went into Arkham Asylum and started walking to his locker. While he was grabbing his textbooks, Poison Ivy walked by him and asked, "Are you okay?"

Batman answered, "To be honest, I'm not so sure."

Poison Ivy put her hand on Batman's shoulder and asked, "What's wrong?"

Batman said, "I fear that Rose was hired by Hugo Strange, but that's not the only thing that frightens me. Rose has the last name as Deathstroke and she dresses similarly to him. Plus, she joined the school shortly after I defeated him. I think that Rose wants to fight me, to get revenge on me."

Poison Ivy replied, "Rose shouldn't put the blame on you. Deathstroke led himself, to his own demise."

Batman responded, "That may be true, but I doubt Rose will ever feel that way."

Poison Ivy looked concerned, while asking, "What are you going to do?"

Batman answered, "I'm going to have to be prepared. If Rose tries to hurt me, I want to defend myself, but I don't to hurt her. After all, I've caused enough trouble for her family."
