Rosen speaks with Cole - After Adamant

"Cole!" Rosen called out to the young male spirit as he was passing by the partially open outer door to his quarters. "I need to speak with you."

"No," he replied and kept walking.

"Cole."

"No."

"Cole, get in here," Rosen snapped firmly, showing rare impatience.

The fair-haired young man jumped, obviously surprised by his tone, but he came and followed him into his quarters.

"I am sorry, Cole," Rosen said. He gestured for him to sit down on the backless, cream-colored reclining couch. "I am tired and stressed. And that journey through the fade did not do any of us any good."

"It is alright."

"No, it is not, Cole. But it will be," he replied softly. Rosen sat down beside him on the other half of the couch, looking over at him. "I know my decision to have the Inquisition take in the remaining wardens upset you, and I am sorry for that. But as the Inquisitor, I have to weigh everything in the balance. For the good of all. Do you understand?"

"Yes."

"Good. That does not mean I will not help you, though, Cole. I will do everything I can to help you, Cole, because I love you. I promise."

"You love me?"

"Yes."

"Like a.. like a lover?"

"No, Cole. I am surprised you know that word. I love someone else in the way you mean. I am sure you have noticed how close Dorian and I are. He is my lover, my mate. The way in which I love you is different. You are my family, Cole, yes, but like... like a son."
