Rosen goes ahead of Dorian to Tevinter - Already knowing all of his objections to his presence there
Rosen settled himself down comfortably upon Dorian's bed after sneaking into his mate's elegant townhouse. He glanced up through his long white lashes with a mischievous smile and affectionate blue eyes as his mate entered his chambers.
Dorian froze for a moment or two upon seeing him, then quickly closed the door and continued forward into the room. "Amatus."
"Beloved," Rosen replied with both love and teasing in his tone of voice.
"I should have known you would be here."
"Yes."
Dorian came and sat down next to him on the bed, reaching out to tenderly caress Rosen's cheek and slide his fingers through his beautiful snow-white hair while gazing into his eyes. Then he lowered his hand to twine their fingers together.
"I shall have to return home to Skyhold at some point, and when the time comes I hope you will accompany me. But for now I need to be with you. Not only for the sake of our bond, but because I am carrying."
"Carrying?" Dorian inquired, his dark chocolate eyes never leaving Rosen's face.
"Yes, carrying," Rosen replied. He smiled at him again while moving their linked hands to rest gently against his already slightly rounded belly. "After a few months, I shall have to lay the eggs back at Skyhold. It is very important that our dragonlings enter this world in our home. It is necessary for them to know their home from their earliest moment on this plane, and Skyhold is naturally more easily defended. I shall allow nothing to threaten or harm our children, Kadan. Tevinter is not safe for them until they can defend themselves from the dangers of this world."
"You- For real?" Dorian blinked rapidly in surprise as he spoke. "You are pregnant?"
"Yes."
"You are certain?"
"Yes."
Dorian smiled widely, clearly immensely pleased by the information. He drew Rosen into his arms and against his body in a tender embrace. "I am so happy, Amatus! Are you well? Nothing is amiss?"
"I am very well, my only love," Rosen reassured him, relaxing into Dorian's arms and returning the embrace. He then laid his head down in his favorite spot on Dorian's left shoulder, closing his eyes with a blissful smile curving his sky-blue painted lips. "I am a High dragon in my prime. And my people do not get morning sickness, nor have tiredness or pain. Not until the laying, that is."
"I see. I am glad. And I will, of course, return home with you when the time comes. Tevinter shall always be my homeland, but it is no longer home. My home is you now. I would not miss anything to do with our children for anything in all the worlds. Certainly not for the insane politics and literal backstabbing which goes on here. Our family comes first, before all else, Amatus. I love you, Rosen."
"Thank you, Dorian. I never doubted it, or you. I love you, into the infinite."
"Yes. Into the infinite."
