Rosen speaks with Varric about Bianca
"Inquisitor, do you have a moment?" Varric spoke quietly.
The dwarven merchant and writer approached him in the gardens where he sat with his legs stretched out along one of the comfortable wooden benches he had requested built for relaxation.
"Of course, Varric," he replied, moving to make room for his friend on the bench beside him. "I was simply enjoying the garden for a while. I needed a break."
"I can't even begin to imagine how much you must mean that statement," the dwarf stated as he sat down beside Rosen.
"Mmm," Rosen hummed in agreement before inquiring, "Did you need something?"
"Not exactly. I just wanted to talk for a bit."
"Alright, Varric."
"Bianca told me you and she spoke after the Valamar incident."
"We did, yes."
"She didn't give me many details, but it didn't sound entirely friendly."
"It was fine, Varric. I promise. It was necessary that she understand me better, and give me the respect which I have earned. And that she also understood my opinion of you, and of our friendship. And how I will defend you against anyone. But she was smiling before she left."
"I see. Thank you for telling me. That means a lot to me. She's been through enough. We both have."
"I understand, my friend. Varric, I might not like what little I know of her, but if you want me to make it so you two can be together.."
Varric laughed, though the sound held obvious pain. "Not even you have that kind of power, Inquisitor."
"You would be surprised by how much power I actually have access to, Varric. And I am not speaking of the Inquisition's influence. Someday I will explain it all to you. Likely after Corypheus is defeated. But I can arrange it."
"I- This is.. a lot to process," Varric replied. His expression clearly revealed that he was stunned by the offer. "Can I have time to think it over? Then see what she wants if I decide to consider it?"
"Of course, Varric. Let me know when you have made a decision."
"I will, Red. Thank you."
"You are very welcome. I am, at heart, a romantic. All of my people are, actually."
"Is that so?" Varric inquired. His low voice turned slightly teasing now. "Is there someone you love, then?"
"Yes, Varric. There is," Rosen answered with a smile. His deep, bright blue eyes turned soft and dreamy as he spoke in reply. "And I will tell him soon that we are soul mates. Very soon. And then after that all will be well and as it should be once we all take down Corypheus."
"You bet it will, Red!"
