chapter 8 Jack Thompson: A man who hurts a woman is a coward.

Jack's point of view

California was everything I dreamed of and more… Howard and Peggy came out to Malibu for a month.

Howard told me exactly what happened with Rogers… I was furious… I had someone in my team track Steve Rogers down so that I could yell at him, which I did. Once I had made sure the paperwork went through so that he went to jail, I had him banned from the north-east permanently, and then I stepped on Jethro Jonah Jameson III about him retracting several stories he'd written which were very unkind to Peggy and Howard…

I did this to get him to leave Howard and Peggy alone. Unfortunately, my boss found out and sent me back to New York. Howard and Peggy met me at the airport.

"Jack, what happened?"

"Remember how you told me what happened to Peggy?"

"Yeah?"

"I made sure Rogers got transferred to a jail in Florida. I made sure he got sent to the hole, and I stepped on Jethro Jonah Jameson III for what he printed about you. I made him print several retractions, or I would have his publication licence revoked."

"Thank you, Jack…"

"Unfortunately, my actions cost me my promotion"

"Well, don't worry, there's a senior agent spot open in the New York branch, I would like you to take it."

"Thanks Howard"

"There's something I need to say to you… as Peggy's brother's best friend…"
