Here it is the first full chapter of the story. The first few chapters are from different points of view. First up will be Troy and how he finds the power of the Mystics. I know in the show Power Rangers Mystic Force all five were together when they received their power but in this story Troy and the wildcats find them at different times, but the original Mystic Force Rangers will make appearances in this story. As before I don't own the Power Rangers or High School Musical.
Troy POV
Today started out like any other day. I woke up, had breakfast, got on the bus to school, then greeted my friends once I got there. It was the first day back after the winter break and I had a lot to catch my friends up on. But first I'm gonna stop and let you get to know me. My name is Troy Bolton, I'm captain of the East Grove High boys basket ball team and the most popular guy in school. Most of my friends are on the basket ball team with me, a few of them are in the various clubs we have here. Oh and one more thing, I came out as gay over the break and the guy I have a huge crush on is in the drama club. Yeah I know big surprise, closeted basket ball star has a crush on the gay kid in drama. Believe me I had a hard time living that part down after I told my friends but luckily none of them turned their backs on me. Of course the whole school now knows I'm gay and I think Ryan, the kid I like, may have figured out that I have feelings for him. Any way I was in the hall talking to my friends when the school started to shake and just as soon as it started it stopped. That's when we all decided it was a good idea to go to our first class. Most followed me into the drama teacher's room cause we were all in that class together. My best friend, Chad sat behind me, the girl he liked, Taylor McKessie, sat behind him, my other friend Gabriella sat diagonally from her, Ryan sat to my right and his twin sister Sharpay, who Gabriella has a crush on, sat behind him. Needless too say the six of us were close but we were about to become a whole lot closer. The first half of the day went by quickly and soon it was lunch. Which meant the six of us were looking for a table so we could eat and discuss random things. We sat down and started eating.
"Hey did anyone else feel that earthquake earlier?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah we were by Zeke's locker when it happened." Chad pointed over at me and I nodded. "But it was over just as soon as it started."
"It was a weird one alright." Taylor agreed. We all nodded. East Grove was known for some weird things but whatever made the building shake like that took the cake.
"Hey Troy are you busy after school today?" Ryan asked me. It wasn't the first time he's asked but I never could bring myself to be alone with him.
"Yeah I have to help my dad do something out in the woods today." Once again I crush his hopes. "Maybe once were done I could come over." He seemed to brighten at the thought.
"What does he need to do in the woods?" Gabriella asked. I was hoping no one would ask.
"He found some weird looking tree a couple weeks before break and he wanted me to with him to see if it was still there." Technically not a lie. My dad did find a weird looking tree but I was the only one that wanted to know if it was still there.
"Oh. Will you at least call when you're back in town?" Ryan once again looked hopeful.
"Yeah I think I can do that." Everyone else made plans from study groups, too auditioning for the school play, to running different drills in the gym. The bell rang telling us to head to class and that's exactly what we did. Before we knew it the final bell rang and the school day was over and we headed our separate ways. I made my way to path my dad takes on his morning jogs. It wasn't long before I was in the spot where my dad said he found the tree. He said it looked like a dragon's head with red eyes. I walked for a couple minutes and found myself in front of a tree that looked like a dragon's head with red eyes. As I moved closer to it the eyes began to glow and what looked like the mouth swung open as if wanting my to step inside. Against my better judgement I did and found what looked like a library minus the books. In the center of the room was a big wooden table that had sticks with different colored gems on the top. As I stepped closer I picked up the red one and it began to glow. I quickly dropped it back on the table and ran as fast as I could for as long as I could without daring to look behind me. Whatever that place was scared the shit out of me. I didn't stop running until I was in my backyard with five sets of concerned eyes looking back at me. Ryan, Chad, Taylor, Gabriella, and Sharpay looked at me.
"Where have you been. I thought we were meeting at the youth center at four?" Gabriella said.
"Yeah I was only gone for like twenty minutes." That's when I looked down at my watch. It said 5:45. That wasn't right was it? What happened to the time while I was inside that tree? "It felt like only twenty minutes ago."
"I think you need to take us to the tree you were talking about at lunch." Chad concluded.
"Yeah we can met at the forest edge right after school tomorrow."
"Sounds good to me." Taylor quickly agreed. Gabriella and Ryan nodded.
"You guys go without me cause I promised my mom I would help her at the country club." Sharpay added.
"Shar are you sure?" Gabriella asked.
"Yeah just tell me what you guys find. Promise?" She looked at all of us in turn.
"Promise." We said at the same time. If we only knew how our lives would change I wonder if any of us would have shown up the next day.
