"Man, that was a mess wasn't it?" The nurse, carting the newborn, talked to the Doctor who walked alongside him looking over his medical files, "it's gonna take me another hour to clean that up. This is such a drag."
"Oh suck it up, brother, you're not the one who has to deal with it everyday. If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't be doing this either…" The Doctor responded to the older nurse with an eye roll and a slight scoff.
The nurse rolled his eyes, but didn't say anything in response. He just smiled and carried on with the work he had before them. They continued walking through the hospital hall then turned a corner, approached an open doorway filled with dozens of children on carts. Most of them had numerical assignments to them, but with the latest boon of offspring being birthed, the place was filled to the brim with sleeping infants. Luckly, there was only one spot left.
"Well, here we are," the nurse said as he shoved the cart forward and gently locked it into place next to the child.
The Doctor, having gotten what he needed from his bag, placed the clipboard back onto his hip and stepped forward. Looking down at the sleeping small girl, he couldn't help but notice how peaceful and innocent her face looked. A smile crept across his lips but immediately faded when the nurse spoke up again.
"Alright, anything else we should do before we check out?" he asked the man who was standing behind him observing the scene.
He glanced back at him and nodded, "Yes, take her power level down for the count," He began writing down on his tablet as he nodded to the man's crimson-colored device on the side of his face.
The nurse backed up, clicking the scouter without moving from his taunting position over the sleeping child, "Alright little brat, let's see whatchu got."
As he focused on the girl, the Scouter began to beep incessantly, as the numbers scrolled up dramatically. This caused the nurse to frown with irritation, and try to get a reading again, pressing the scanning button several times over, growling with frustration, "What the hell?!"
"Let me guess. Having trouble working on the new brand of Scouters?" The doctor sighed unamused.
"I think my Scouter is broken. Its reading is way too high!" The nurse tapped his Scouter a few times over, but kept hearing it blip with the same number, over and over.
"Well, what does the Scouter say about her power level?" The doctor asked with bewilderment, arching a brow at the man, who turned his head to stare at him incredulously.
"It says her power level is 8,000," the nurse spoke with irritation, tapping his Scouter a few more times, before waving his arms up with dismissal.
"Let me check her again," the doctor rolled his eyes, activating his green-lens Scouter to trace it on the girl. His device beeped much quicker than the nurses, causing his eyes to widen, "Uh...nurse...I don't think your Scouter is broken."
"Why is that?" The nurse asked, as he kept his eye trained on the sleeping girl, the child softly snores echoing off the sterile white walls. She seemed perfectly tranquil with no signs of distress or discomfort anywhere on her body.
"It's...six...units..." The Doctor looked over at the child, still sleeping peacefully in her cart. But even while she slept the two scouters beeped with alarm in sync.
9,000
10,000
11,000
The readings climbed higher and higher, causing the doctor to stumble back as the emerald lens shattered, shortly before exploding on his head. The nurse followed him also, as his readings halted at a much higher count than before.
"1-15,000?!" The nurse gasped, both him and the doctor watching in shock as the child began to float three-feet in the air. Her hair slowly flared up and she began emitting an eerie green glow, before she fell backwards, softly landing back in her cart.
Just as she landed in her cart the sudden rise of incredible power that shook the room faded.
As they stared at the unconscious infant a sense of relief washed over them; she hadn't awoken yet.
"You've gotta be kidding me," the nurse chuckled under his breath as he rubbed his forehead, "If someone tells me she's going to turn into something bigger...or scarier..."
The nurse turned to the doctor who was still trained at the girl's sleeping form. "Um… what did the mother name her before she died..?"
"Kohlra," The Doctor responded absentmindedly as he stood there, staring at her with wonder, fear, and disbelief at the same time. His mind was swirling with thoughts of what could have occurred.
Could she be… part of the prophecy?
Could she be the one? The Saiyan of Legends?
Could she possibly be… the Legendary Super Saiyan?
His breath began to quicken and he felt sweat drop down his forehead as the thought ran rampant through his skull. Just how much hidden potential does she have…? How much can we learn from her…? What if… what if she's the one…?
His train of thought was interrupted as the girl shifted slightly in her sleep, causing her to groan softly.
"Doctor!" The nurse shouted at him, snapping him out of his trance. The doctor turned to look at him, "What should we do?"
"Keep a close watch on her…" The doctor muttered as he moved to stand closer to the cart. Carefully placing a hand on the edge of her bed he gazed over at the girl.
He narrowed his gaze, analyzing every feature on the child in front of him. She had tan skin, long black wild hair, blade shaped bangs that traced over her brow, and adorned with a black tail. All in all she looked exactly like a Saiyan baby.
"No one," the Doctor began to speak quietly but firmly, gaining the attention of the older nurse who listened intently, "no one can know about this. Not even the new king. When she reaches the age where she could walk, and talk we will whip her into becoming an Elite Saiyan Warrior. Until then, her true power level must remain a secret, understand?"
"B-But doctor…"
The doctor glared at the nurse who shrunk under his intense glare. Taking a deep breath he relaxed his shoulders, knowing full well his boss's law in this case.
"Understood, sir…" The nurse mumbled as he bowed deeply, earning a satisfied smirk from the doctor.
Turning back towards the girl, he watched as her chest rose up and down rhythmically. He took in her features, noticing how cute she appeared. He knew it would be difficult to separate the fact that this child could be a real threat to not only herself but to everyone or the fact that she may very well become an Elite Warrior at some point.
He couldn't help but feel anxious at the possibility of her growing up to be stronger than everyone. Especially because she would most certainly become a warrior by the time she was around ten or eleven years old. In any other circumstance, that might not necessarily mean much, but considering her lineage, her strength of character, and her powers which far surpassed what anyone had ever witnessed, she was going to become a force to be reckoned with.
A force that must be nurtured, taught, developed, molded, and trained. And he didn't have a doubt that she would be one of the next generation of the Saiyan race.
Even with her current status as a child her power would surely reach its peak within the first year of her life. He had no doubts in his mind that she would soon surpass those already born, as she would be one of the rarer breed of Saiyans.
Even though her growth would not come at the usual rate, her potential and abilities to exceed what was normally known of the Saiyan race could prove to be the most valuable assets available to the people. So as long as he could find out exactly what powers were possible for her, he wouldn't hesitate to use everything he had to protect that potential.
That being said, he knew he would have to keep that information to himself so as to not jeopardize his position, so for now he needs to make sure that she keeps her true power hidden from the naked eye, especially Frieza.
18 years later
Right hand reached out before her, palm charging with emerald energy. The blue two horn lizards cowered. They'd seen what happened to their comrades, their bodies reduced to nothing more than ashes. They knew in their hearts what she was capable of. What she wasn't hesitant to do.
Before they could even do anything, the power fled her hand. It consumed the blue lizard beings , their charred remains scattering across the floor, leaving behind a pile of ash.
She frowned, shaking her head. How disappointing. She needs to have better control of her power, so not to go overboard and so that there are no remains.
It's not good to be careless, after all. Rolling around she starts forward. She pressed a hand to her Scouter.
"Commander."
A voice came through the device.
"Yes, Princess?" He asked respectfully.
"The lizard slugs are wasted, the planet's wiped clean and is ready for sale." She explained bluntly, as she continued forward into the distance.
"Well done, princess, I shall inform Lord Frieza. We'll have the planet sold immediately," The commander answered curtly, before ending the communication.
She turned and kicked off, leaving their bodies behind. She had completed her mission, and it was time to return home. Entering her pod she sat down, leaning back, crossing her arms, as the door shut behind her.
Luckily the journey wasn't long.
After an hour soaring through space her pod reached the planet before landing on a helipad below her, and the hatch popped open. Kohlra stepped out to find two familiar people standing in front of her. A doctor and a male nurse, clad in matching lab coats.
She raised her eyebrows slightly, surprised.
Did they get promoted?
"I trust you enjoyed your trip, Princess?" The doctor asked calmly, folding his hands behind his back as Kohlra approached.
"It could've been better. Though my mission was complete, those sops were two easy to kill and dispose of," She replied nonchalantly, rolling her eyes.
The Doctor cupped his chin. "I see, did you also make sure to hold back on your power? As always I'm impressed, but I have to remind you that your training hasn't reached its peak yet."
"Of course. I won't disappoint my master." She smirked lightly as she leaned against the ship's railing.
Both Doctors smiled lightly as they watched her, admiring how confident she seemed. It was clear she was already accustomed to her new rank and position. Both a Saiyan Elite and a Princess. Perhaps her training was progressing smoothly.
"Oh I almost forgot to mention, you're assigned to a new squad." The doctor added. "One that is starting today. You'll be taking orders from their leader, Commander Paragus, from now on."
"Commander?" Kohlra's eyebrow arched curiously. "Who is Paragus?"
"You'll meet him later on when you're called to meet him," The doctor answered simply as she stared at him. She narrowed her brows. He seemed unusually serious today. Was something wrong? But why would she care about that now? Whatever, it doesn't matter right now...
She scoffed. "Whatever."
The doctor laughed at her attitude. "Now you just rest for a while, and get yourself fit." He ordered her, walking away.
Kohlra continued walking down the hallways as she listened to the sound of her boots clicking against the metal floor. As she rounded a corner she entered the stretched square shaped mouth of another room. Entering a bar the Saiyan Princess glanced around, seeing male and female Saiyans laughing and drinking together around the large circular tables. She started forward dodging a few tables and chairs as she headed towards the countertop where a tall dark haired man was wiping down a glass.
She stops in front of him, resting her hip on the table, her elbow resting against her cheek, as she waits for him to finish his cleaning. The man stopped in surprise at first, instantly recognized Kohlra immediately.
"P-Princess! What can I get you?" The Saiyan stuttered nervously, his face turning a light shade of red.
Kohlra tilted her head, staring directly into his eyes. Her stare felt cold and distant. "How's work?" She asked without preamble.
"Good." Came his response, glancing away. "We managed to acquire five hundred units of ore earlier in the day. That should be enough for us to upgrade our technology." The man added. "What can I get for you, Princess?"
As he finished, he started drying off the glass again. "I'll have one glass of wine." She ordered.
"Right away, Princess." The bartender answered as he prepared the drink, and poured a healthy amount onto the glass. He then walked off to fill it with the red liquid.
"Thank you." Kohlra muttered sarcastically as the glass filled up halfway. She picked up the glass and took a small sip, watching the liquid swirl inside. She could taste the sweet fruitiness of the wine. It was rather refreshing.
The sweetness was shattered by a distinctly loud clattering not but a couple dozen meters ahead of him. Plates spilling a number of wrapped goods that had the distinct aroma of spiced meats. With it came a Saiyan female, yelping with comical fright as she tumbled head over foot to painfully land on top of the rock ground. Miraculously she had saved two packaged meats from falling to the ground with both up-raised hands, having to sacrifice her footing and the rest of the food by face planting into the ground.
All the Saiyans starred in surprised. The shock had transferred to Kohlra as well, with a turn of her head towards the Saiyan woman, blinking at the incredulous display of clumsiness.
"Sorry! My fault!" She called out, scrambling to her feet as she rushed to get the thankfully protected rations back onto their given plates, placing them all into a circular pile. As she did so, she knelt in the midst of the mass of food, laughing sheepishly at her compatriots' collective state of disbelief and shock. "I guess I should have watched where I was going, haha!"
"Honestly," One male Saiayn laughed at her clumsiness while holding his glass close, "you're so clumsy, no wonder you're the worst of Bardock's team, haha."
The group burst into laughter at his remark. Drowning out their laughter, Kohlra's eyes darted to the Saiyan women, analyzing her from afar. A compassionate gleam was within her eyes with a softly shaped face, and onyx dyed bangs tracing down her brows in bladed shapes. Her body was lean yet toned, as most average Saiyan women seemed to be, though she seemed small. She lacked the silky long hair and instead had shoulder length disheveled tresses. She wore golden shoulder strapped Saiyan armor over her bosom, with green plating and mustard yellow abdominal strips, with white a waistband holding a Saiyan armored skirt of sorts with similar yellow plating near the posterior where her tail stuck out. Burgundy linen wrapped around her forearms, complimenting the skin tight black armor mesh leggings leading down to white-golden striped boots.
After cleaning up her mess, the Saiyan woman approaches Kolhra and kneels before her. Kohlra looked down at her, flicking her wrist.
"As you were.." She began, "Who might you be..?"
"I am Gine, Princess. Low class, and fifth member of team Bardock." She responded curtly, standing up to bow respectfully.
"Gine, huh?" Kohlra mused. "That's a funny name for a Saiyan. I've never heard that one before. What do you want?"
"I wanted to make two requests from you, Princess Kohlra." Gine replied, looking up at Kohlra.
Kohlra narrowed her gaze at the woman in front of her. "And what is that?"
"Well, for one, helping me and my squad, and two, um… could you please train me?" She asked politely as Kohlra let out a chuckle.
"Train you? Why should I waste my time on a low class like you, let alone help you with whatever it is you and your squad is having trouble with?" Kohlra answered mockingly, crossing her arms as her lips curled in a smirk. She was obviously not amused by this.
Gine frowned, hurt by her words. She stood upright staring back at the Princess. "It's not like I can help it if we're attacked from all sides…" She grumbled, rubbing the back of her neck uncomfortably.
Kohlra's eyes softened for a second before her expression darkened, as she crossed her arms. "Well what exactly do you need to be trained for?" She questioned.
Gine bit her lip as she hesitantly answered. "Um… I want to be able to fight better. To protect my teammates and be of more use to them and not fall behind … So um… I need to learn to defend myself properly… so I won't be saved all the time." She answered honestly. The Saiyan girl glanced away embarrassed. "It's just that… I've always been weak compared to others, but now, I feel useless…"
"I see…. So you want to become stronger?"
Kohlra Spoke bluntly. The Saiyan woman nodded.
"Not strong like them, you know. They get strong just for the thrill of the battle; I only want to get strong to be of some support to my teammates when they need me, since I'm the weakest of them all. To be honest, I really don't like fighting, but sometimes I must, if not for my sake then for the sake of others." She explained, raising her chin with determination.
The Saiyan Princess studied Gine's expression carefully. On one hand the thought of teaching a low class Saiyan was beneath her and couldn't mark her disdain even more, but on the other hand… it wouldn't hurt having someone to spar with even if they are a low class. Afterall, a single person is too small and inexperienced to ever hope to stand a chance against a large and skilled opponent such as herself or one of the others. And besides, a good sparring partner could easily teach a Saiyan how to gain experience, especially with a warrior like this being a beginner. The Saiyan woman sighed deeply, leaning her forehead on her hand.
"Fine," Kohlra grunted.
A smile spread across Gine's lips, as she lifted herself from her kneeling position, holding a fistful of air in triumph. "Thank you so much, Princess! I promise to become the best warrior there is!" She announced excitedly. "You're not gonna regret this!" She stated, clenching her fist confidently.
"Yeah right…." Kohlra mumbled under her breath. She was not convinced.
A/N: Hope you all enjoyed the little read there and the introduction to our main protagonist who is the mother of Broly. Not sure how this will go, nor do I know how long this series will run. We'll just have to wait and see.
