"Where did you last see him?" Colonel Potter asked when they entered the radio room.

"In my bed."

"Of course. Well, let's start looking. You're sure you've checked everywhere?"

"Yes, everywhere, sir! I can't imagine where he could be! He's never done this before. Oh, except once, when some Korean kids took him, but I don't think that's

the case this time."

Suddenly he gasped and his hand flew to his mouth.

"What is it, Radar?

"You don't suppose…"

"What?"

"Oh no! Someone took him! I just know it! Oh, I'll never see him again! Oh, this is terrible!"

"Radar. Relax! We'll find him! You look over there and I'll look here, all right?"

"Okay."

Together, they searched every inch of the radio room to no avail. "Look Radar, you keep searching. I'm going to look in my office."

"Yes sir."

Radar searched and searched everywhere he could think of; In the filing cabinets, the window sill, the floor, even the closet, but there was no brown bear to be

found. When Colonel Potter came out of his office, Radar turned around, hopeful.

"Well?"

But Radar's heart sunk when the Colonel shook his head. Feeling unsteady on his feet, he sank to the ground. He wanted to cry, boy, how he wanted to cry. But

he'd just look even sillier than ever. It was bad enough waking up Colonel Potter in the middle of the night to look for a teddy bear. How would it look if Radar

was crying? He swallowed hard.

"I'm sorry, Radar. Nothing."

"Thank you, Sir."

"Look. Don't worry. I'll make an announcement first thing in the morning and I'll have the whole camp search every square inch of this place. We'll find that bear

if it's the last thing we-." He paused and crouched down, alarming Radar.

"What's wrong, sir? Are you all right? Should I get help?"

"Get Hawkeye in here on the double! Go, Radar!"

Radar sprinted across the camp as fast as he could, making a beeline for the Swamp and then knocked rapidly on the door.

"GO AWAY!" Two voices shouted in unison.

Radar ignored them and opened the door. "Guys give me a break!"

"Why don't you give us a break?" Trapper shouted. "Isn't it past your bedtime?"

"Cut it out!"

"Don't get sore, Radar. Come over here and I'll read you a bedtime story."

"Cut it out, Trapper! This is serious! Colonel Potter wants to see Hawkeye!"

Hawkeye sat up in his bunk. "Me? What does he want with me?"

"He just does! Now will ya come on?"

Hawkeye took much longer than he should have getting out of bed. "All right, but this better be good!"

"Here he is Colonel!" Radar said when Hawkeye dragged himself through the office door.

"Colonel, you wanted to see me? At this hour?"

"I know it's not normal-."

"Normal? It's abnormal is what it is! Do you know what time it is? By my calculations it's still dark outside!"

"Can it, Pierce. I need you to do something for me!"

"At this hour? Are you crazy?"

"Quite possibly. But this is important! Radar!"

Radar stood and saluted. "Yes sir!"

"Go to the mess tent and get me some milk, will ya? I've got a touch of heartburn."

"Right away, sir."

Without waiting to see why Colonel Potter needed to speak to Hawkeye, Radar rushed out the door toward the mess tent. The place was dark, but he managed

to make it to the kitchen and found a glass in the cabinet and a carton of ice-cold milk in the refrigerator. Carefully he poured a glass of milk and returned the

carton to the refrigerator. And then he carefully carried the milk back to the radio room, making sure that none of it sloshed on the ground as he walked.

Colonel Potter and Hawkeye were chatting in his office when Radar walked in. "Here you are, Colonel. One glass of ice cold milk. Oh, Hawkeye, I should have

gotten you one as well. I'll be right back."

"Thanks, I'm fine, Radar. But I have something for you."

"For me, sir?"

"Yes, but you have to promise to stop calling me Sir! My name is Benjamin Hawkeye Pierce, but I prefer Hawkeye."

"Okay, sir-I mean, Hawkeye."

"That's better. So here you are."

Radar nearly cried. "My bear! Oh gee, Colonel Potter, where did you find him?"

"Don't thank me. Thank Hawkeye."

Radar hugged the bear against his chest. "Oh gee, I never thought I'd see him again! Where was he?"

"He was hiding way underneath your bunk." Hawkeye explained. "I had to lay on the floor and slide him out with a stick! But don't worry, he's all right."

"I'm sorry I woke you and Trapper, Hawkeye. I was just so worried!"

Hawkeye smiled. "It was my pleasure."

"You can go back to your tent, Hawkeye. I'm granting you off-duty for the next eighteen hours. Unless we really need you, but I think we can manage."

"Music to my ears." Hawkeye said. "Goodnight."

"Tell Trapper-."

Hawkeye gave a dismissive wave. "I will. Goodnight, Radar."

When Hawkeye was gone, Radar turned to Colonel Potter. "Thanks for finding him, Colonel. I really appreciate it."

Colonel Potter smiled. "I'm glad he's okay. Now get some rest, all right?"

"I'm sorry for bothering you in the middle of the night."

"No trouble at all. You've done plenty for me. Now get some rest. And that's an order!"

Radar went to the radio room and removed his robe and glasses and climbed into bed.

"Don't forget him."

Confused, Radar turned around but then grinned when Colonel Potter placed the bear in Radar's arms. "Goodnight, son…"

If Colonel Potter said something else, Radar didn't know what it was. For with his bear in his arms, he'd fallen fast asleep.

A/N: It should have been BJ in this story instead of Trapper but Trapper seemed like a better fit despite the fact that Colonel Potter was the OC.
