Right, so like I said in my other new story. I've been stuck in rut, or can't find the energy to do the stories that require a lot of attention. I don't know, I want to write them, but I feel like no one is reading them, and when I do post them, no one give me feedback, and they do it's all generic 'good job' or 'well done'. But for the people who have given me good feedback, thank you. I really appreciate it, and give me energy to write. It also helps with if I'm doing a good job, and if I need to change things or not.

So, this doesn't mean I'm giving up, and if any of you are worried, don't be, I'm fine. I just wanted to get that off my chest, and update the people who've read my more bigger stories.

Right now, I'm focusing on smaller stuff, which would include my Total Drama Melissa story, and smaller projects I've been meaning to work on, but haven't found the time to do.

So for this story, it's focused on NCIS New Orleans, which is my personal favorite in the NCIS (Or JAG franchise depending on how you see it) Universe. And out of all of them, it's the only one that's been canceled, which completely sucks. And after reading and seeing what FFN has for this, I got inspired to write a story myself, and hope it will reinvigorate this fandom on the site.

So the subject for this one is Christopher LaSalle's thoughts during the season 5 premier episode See You Soon.

Once again, I hope you all enjoy, and I own none of the content.

Christopher LaSalle had hoped after dealing with Eric Barlow, and thwarting his attempt to frame Pride for the attempted bombing of the Tricentennial Fleet Week celebration, as well as the attempted assassination of Mayor Taylor, that things would go back to normal. Although he had to deal with legal issues regarding his families company, which was brought to life during the Barlow case, he wanted to celebrate the team's victory. As well as Pride being exonerated from any wrongdoing first, before he would head back home to figure things out.

But knowing their lives, that was not the case.

Barlow's associate Amelia Parsons had come back for revenge, and shot Pride in his apartment above the bar. How the hell she managed do so with the injuries she had sustained, after getting her butt kicked by Sydney Halliday and put into a coma was anyone's guess. But the fact of the matter was that after the debrief from Gibb's, the reasoning behind Amelia's vendetta against Pride had to do with the death of her husband John Stone, who had worked for Douglass Hamilton. And who had also fought Pride, and died after falling off the roof of a building. But Amelia was also an ex-CIA Contract Assassin bent on revenge and was running around, and would continue her mission. And the chance that Pride pulled through, which he and others hoped, Amelia would come back to finish the job. That was something that they were not going to allow her to do.

Their plan had been simple, to lure her out by lifting the media blackout on Pride's condition, and then use a decoy body while Sebastian and him drove the ambulance, like Pride and him did during the Cartel Sniper incident. While Gregorio stayed at the hospital with Loretta and Rita to both check over Pride, and protect him in case anything happened.

And something did happen.

Amelia used a civilian as a decoy to ram a car into the ambulance. And also live record their reactions to confirm where Pride was. After that, he and Sebastian high tailed it back to the hospital, but by the time they got back, absolute panic had set in. Due to Amelia somehow successfully got herself into the hospital, and was gunning for Pride.

It was situations like these that he wished for extra manpower. Or better yet, if Sonja didn't decide to join the FBI's International Task Force, and stay with NCIS. Or if Meredith hadn't quit after dealing with Russo, but he couldn't fault them, it was their decisions to leave, and he respected that. He even told Merry in person that once he finally got around to visiting her, and they made amends after what had happened, which was a month or two after she quit.

They had met Gregorio, who was sporting a cut and bump to the head, and quickly told them what happened. And he told her to sit tight, while he and Sebastian went after Amelia.

In some way LaSalle would've been impressed. The woman had endured enough pain and injuries in the past couple of days that any lesser person would've succumbed to. But she plowed through out of revenge. And whatever training she received her time as a contract killer before and during her time with the CIA and whoever had hired her over the years.

But right now, he wasn't so impressed. This woman had tried to kill his boss and friend. And he was going to stop her one way or another.

He and Sebastian had followed the nearby nurses and doctors' frantic directions to where they saw Amelia had gone to, as well as the gunshots that rung found her in the middle of a shootout with someone; he had to assume Rita in a room where he also assumed her and Wade had hid Pride in.

As soon as he rounded the corner he saw her, and yelled," Amelia!"

He didn't give her a chance to look, before he fired a couple rounds, and one buried itself into Amelia's right shoulder.

He saw her grimace from the pain, and he and Sebastian had to duck when she fired erratically at them. Once they got out the way, Amelia went through a pair of double doors into another hallway.

"Check the others; I'm not lettin' her get away again." LaSalle ordered Sebastian, and didn't wait for Sebastian's response as he sprinted after Amelia.

LaSalle found himself in some storage area, and he could hear the labored breathing from Amelia.

'Dammit, she's tough, I'll give her that.' LaSalle thought. "It's over Amelia!" He called.

Her response was to fire a couple of more rounds at him, and he repaid her in kind. And he took dark satisfaction when he saw two more rounds imbedded themselves into her shoulder and back. There was no way she was going to get up now.

She fell down, and LaSalle found himself aiming his gun at her, as she fell back against a piece of medical equipment. He finally got a good look at her, she was breathing heavily, and it was labored. She had dyed her hair black and had cut it short. Various injuries littered her body, all from getting her ass kicked by Halliday, getting hit by a car, and him shooting her a couple of times.

'What is she the Terminator? She could give Arnold Schwarzenegger a run for his money. Or maybe John Rambo. I mean both are relentless and won't stop for nothing until their job is done.' A voice suspiciously like Sebastian's said in his head.

"Stay where you are." Christopher ordered.

"Not a lot of options… Pride… he's dead right?" Amelia asked as she breathed heavily in pain.

Chris moved closer, knowing she was trying to distract him, so she could grab her gun. But he would put a bullet in her head if she tried.

"You will be, if you won't stop moving." Chris said.

A small part dark part of him was telling him to pull the trigger. Either a shot to the head to finish her off in one fell swoop. Or a couple rounds in the chest like she did to Pride.

Poetic justice in a sense, and Chris hoped that if he did, then Amelia's last moments on earth would be to see the person who shot her.

"I know how you feel, hurts doesn't it?" Amelia goaded, hoping he would do something.

Christopher saw her reach for her gun again, the urge to pull the trigger came again, but he ignored it.

"The man you kidnapped from the diner. Where is he?" Chris asked.

"Trunk of a Honda… block away." Amelia said.

"Don't you move." Chris once again commanded, as he had his vision trained on both Amelia's face, and her hand that slowly inching towards the gun.

'Come on, try it. See what happens.' Chris thought.

It was at that time memories long buried came to the surface of his mind. He remembered the last time he was in this position.

Back when him, Pride and Merry were dealing Sasha Broussard, the remnants of the Broussard Syndicate and Baitfish.

And how he was on a quest for revenge after Baitfish had murdered Savannah. The women that he almost let get away, if it wasn't for the helpful meddling of his brother Cade. The woman that Chris had told Cade that he hoped to marry one day in the future. Seeing her on the ground dead haunted him, and it still did all these years, even though he had moved on.

And the chance to finally get his revenge after he escaped police custody. After chasing him in the warehouse, and baiting him to try and take a gun, so Chris could get revenge and justice for Savannah.

But something had happened.

Amelia once again goaded him into shooting her, and if the inferior mocking like smile she had on was any indication to get a rise of out him.

It was starting to work, as he placed his hand on the trigger of his pistol.

'Just a little further.' A dark voice said in his mind.

"Christopher." Chris heard a voice said.

Chris glanced over to see Sebastian approaching, but he placed his vision back on Amelia.

"Chris, hey man… what are you doing?" Sebastian asked, even though he had a feeling.

"Stay back Sebastian." Chris ordered.

"Hey listen, this isn't right, okay? You hear me? It's not right." Sebastian said, trying to talk him down.

Visions of finding Pride on the ground in his apartment, riddled with bullet wounds, and in a pool of his own blood came to mind. A man he considered both a friend and family. Who had his and everyone else's back no matter what. A man who was fighting for his life to survive right now.

And the person, who had done that to him, was sitting down, broken, defeated, and all it took was more shot.

Chris started to pull gently on the trigger.

"Hey, this isn't the way." Sebastian tried to reason.

The missing memory appeared, before Baitfish would be killed by Messier. Both Pride and Merry talking him down, saying that killing Baitfish wouldn't bring Savannah back, and it wouldn't fill the hole in his heart.

And Savannah wouldn't have wanted him to do it.

The situation back then, was the same situation now. Pride wouldn't want him to do it either.

After debating for what felt like forever, Chris relented and said.

"Yeah. I know." Chris said, as he stepped on Amelia's hand as it touched her gun. He took his finger off the trigger, and used his boot to push the gun away.

"The weapon's secured. Cuff her." Chris said, as Sebastian nodded, and did just that.

He dared not to think about about what had almost happened, but his conscious told him he did the right thing.

He also pretended to miss the relieve expression his friend had. And the thoughts of what had just happened came to mind, but something else came front and center.

"King?" Chris asked.

Sebastian gave his friend a look that spoke things were bad.

"He's in trouble." Sebastian gravely said.

After having a couple of officers take Amelia into custody, both Chris and Sebastian sprinted to Pride's room.

Like Sebastian had said, Pride was flat lining. But the nurses hadn't stopped yet, bless their hearts.

Chris was also shocked and a little dismayed to see Laurel Pride, Pride's daughter had arrived. Even though last he talked to her, there was computer issues at the airports, but he would have to question that later.

Hearing her cries and sobs for her father to wake up and push through would haunt him forever. She shouldn't be there to witness her father dying. But in some way it was a good thing, he didn't get a chance to see or talk to his father before he died. He did, but he didn't answer his call, and he still kicked himself over it.

He hung his head, knowing things won't go their way. He felt Tammy holding onto his arm in support, either for him or for herself. He would probably need a chair too. Sebastian was doing too well either, as he held Tammy's shoulder to support himself.

There was no way King was gone, he-he couldn't be.

And by some God honest miracle, Pride's heart monitor started to beep. Chris thought he was imagining it, but it soon turned into a steady beeping. Laurel gasped, and walked closer to father, and surprisingly, he opened his eyes, he looked out of it, but he focused on Laurel.

"You stubborn son of a bitch." Chris muttered in disbelief.

"Oh my God." Tammy laughed slightly in disbelief and relief, and hugged a shell shocked Sebastian.

Chris felt relief flood through him, knowing that Pride was going to make it.

He also knew that the road to recovery was going to be long, but Pride was stubborn.

And Christopher had faith in. Him and the others had his back.

And there you have it. Tell me what your thoughts are on this.

Till next time.
