Chapter 10
Varian knows best
(Author's Note)
Another chapter that has a song that isn't included in this because I am lazy and can't get the lyrics. :')
Sorry! But yeah, I'm going to make a song that is similar to the reprise song of "Mother Knows Best"
So yeah, it's definitely not the same.
Either way, please Enjoy!

...Father Cap was standing right behind Varian. "Well, I thought he'd never leave."
This startled Varian. He stood up quickly and looked behind him, "Father?" He gasped, his eyes widened and almost afraid. "Hello, son." Cap raised his brow.
Varian stammered, "How did you find me?!"
"Oh, it was easy really." Father Cap shrugged, "I just listened to the sound of complete and utter betrayal, and followed that." He slanted his eyes, glaring.
"Father..." He frowned back at Father Cap.
"We're going home. Now." Cap grabbed Varian's wrist and pulled him along.
Varian resisted, "You...You don't understand. I've been on the most incredible journey!"
"I've seen and learned so much. I even met someone."
Cap rolled his eyes, "Yes, the wanted thief. I'm so proud." He pulled on Varian's wrist again.
"Father, wait. I think... I think she likes me." Varian stuttered.
Father Cap let go of Varian's wrist, making Varian stumble back a little ways. "Really? Do you really think so?" Cap glanced at Varian.
He then walked towards Varian, causing Varian to back away.
"Varian, look at you."
"So naive, yes you are."
"Little sapling, little sprout."
"Do you really think this is the right answer?"
Varian started to interrupt his singing, "Father-"
Father Cap interrupted him instead with his singing.
"Well, I suppose Father doesn't know best."
"Varian knows best, he knows everything."
"Varian knows best, I've heaaaaard!"
Father Cap stopped singing, grabbed the satchel out of his cloak and threw it at him.
"The satchel! You found it?" Varian grabbed it and put it to his chest.
"How else would I have known your whereabouts?" Father Cap rolled his eyes.
"Father..." Varian was going to speak, but Cap started back singing
"Don't forget! You'll regret it."
"Don't come-a-crying at my door, if he's lying!"
"Faaaaaaaaaather knows best!"
Then with a swing of the cloak, Cap ran off into the woods, leaving Varian there.
Varian stared glassy-eyed. He looked down at the satchel and looked at the crown.
He put it away upon hearing Cassandra. "So, hey uh, can I ask you something?" She raised a brow.
"Is there any chance that I'm going to get super strength in my hand? Because I'm not going to lie, that would be really cool." Cassandra had the firewood tucked underneath one arm and she was holding her hand up. She saw that Varian seemed upset and frowned, "Hey, you okay?"
"Oh, sorry, yes. Just um, lost in thought, I guess..." Varian hid the satchel within his hair.
Cassandra shrugged, "Okay..."
Cassandra put down the firewood and sat down then spoke, "I mean because here's the thing about the hand. Superhuman good looks, I've always had 'em. Born with it, but superhuman strength? Imagine the possibilities, I'm just..." Cassandra rambled.
Angry and Red was getting ready to come out of the bush they were hiding in, but Father Cap stopped them, "Patience girls. All good things to those who wait." He hissed.
The next morning, Fidella had arrived at the campsite and was staring down a sleeping Cassandra. She batted her eyes open, "Hm. What?" She warmly smiled, "Well, I hope you're here to apologize." She told the light-brown horse.
Varian suddenly woke up to Cassandra screaming.
"Aaaaaaaah! No, no put me down. No, no!" Cassandra was being dragged away by Fidella.
Varian stood up and headed over to the horse. "Release her!"
Fidella let go of Cassandra, letting her fall to the ground. "Ow!" She growled.
Fidella neighed and whinnied, rearing up in anger at Cassandra. "Whoa!" Varian stopped her. "Whoa, whoa-whoa-whoa. Easy girl, easy, calm down. Easy girl Easy. That's it..." Varian calmed her down. "Now sit." He said to her. Fidella looked at him as if she wasn't going to do it.
"Sit." Varian said, raising a brow, sternly speaking. Fidella plopped down.
"Good, now drop Cassie's boot." Varian looked at the boot in Fidella's mouth.
Fidella didn't do anything. "Drop it." Varian glared.
Fidella spat out the boot, unamused with the situation.
"Oh, you are such a good girl! Yes you are!" Varian smiled and started cuddling her.
"Aw, you're all tired chasing the bad lady all over the place?" Varian asked.
Cassandra glared, "Excuse me?"
Varian ignored Cassandra, "Nobody appreciates you, do they? Do they?" Varian cooed.
"Com'on! She's a bad horse!" Cassandra rolled her eyes, snarling.
Varian looked at Cassandra, "Aw, She's nothing but a big sweetheart. Isn't that right?" He looked at Fidella's reins, "Fidella." He said her name, which pleased her and Fidella whinnied happily.
Cassandra crossed her arms, sitting up straight now. "You've got to be kidding me."
Varian began to explain to Fidella, "Look, today is kinda the biggest day of my life."
"And I need... I need you not to get her arrested. Just for twenty four hours and then, you can chase each other to your hearts content. Okay?" He pet Fidella's head comfortingly.
"And it's also my birthday. Just so you know." Varian added.
Fidella's face seemed to change at those words.
Cassandra and Fidella looked at each other, Fidella held her hoof out and shook hands with her.
"Thank you." Varian put his hands on his hip.
Varian then noticed something and walked off, leaving Fidella and Cassandra beside each other.
...Then Fidella punched Cassandra with her hoof.
"Oof!" Cassandra wheezed and fell over.
Fidella thought that was pretty funny.
Cassandra, not so much, because it knocked the air out of her.
