A/N: My Goodness, It has it been years since I've been here. As most people know, if you're a Fairy Tail Fan, Hiro Mashima has finally came out with a new series of books Called The 100 year quest and i've been over the moon. Anyway, in the spirit of things, i've decided to pick up writing again as it was my favorite thing to do in my spare time. Yes i'm very aware i have a story started and never finished it but, idk when or how im going to pick it up again especially when i realize the story was similar to the 100 year quest n i felt a bit conflicted when i look at it now so its being put on hold indefinitely.

*deep breath* ANYWAY, Here's a new story that's been floating in my head, and it took me almost a month to finally put it into words. It's an **AU STORY** and i've been itching to make one of these for the longest time and here it is. I'm a little rusty when it comes to writing but i will try my hardest to stay true to the characters personalities but everything else is technically fair game. Not that it should matter when its fanfiction but ill say it anyway ALL FAIRY TAIL CHARACTERS MENTIONED IN THE STORY BELONG TO ITS RIGHTFUL OWNER.

(Now last but not least, i may have quoted some songs in parenthesis, its 100% optional but its there to set a mood for the story and you DO NOT have to listen to any of them)

Now that's all out of the way, Enjoy the read :3

(Mark Mancina - Bad Boys - Main title Heist)

Thunder cracked the skies, almost deafening the city below. Rain poured heavily upon the now dimly lit city, cloaking it in a dense fog as if it was hiding something.

Police cars raced through the flooding streets, squealing their tires to a high shrieking sound at every obstacle in their way. Gunfire was shot between the cars, almost inaudible by the storm and chaos, wreaking havoc on the incoming traffic.

**This is station H3, over, we have spotted the Mercedes by the Vermillion Highway Terminal. All officers in the nearby vicinity are to be on hot pursuit. All backup is required immediately, engage with extreme prejudice. Do not, I repeat, do not let them get away again. **

The radio in the darkened vehicle trailed to a silence. A raven haired man sat up in the driver's seat, sighing heavily, he glanced through his shades towards his partner.

"Seems like they found them."

The woman next to him flinched hearing his voice cracking the silence, shuddering from the cold and the frenzied heart pounding in her chest, she slowly looks up at him. Clearing her throat and adjusting her posture as she spoke,

"Juvia is ready if Gray-Sama is…" her voice trailed as she tucks her short, blue hair behind her ear. "Do you think they will get him this time?"

Gray shifted his hand towards the shift-stick on the vehicle. Gritting his teeth and adjusting his gaze towards the sounds on the incoming traffic. The engine rumbled to life as he got ready to pull out of their inconspicuous position.

"There is only one way to find out." The car skidded loudly as he took off immediately towards the highway.

Helicopters circled the area while its searchlights beamed on the silver Mercedes Benz below. The car dashed between traffic almost flawlessly, while one gunman shot out from its rear window towards the incoming police.

The pilot in the helicopter hovering over the targeted vehicle shifted closer towards his radio;

**This is Alpha 3 calling in, anyone nearby? We have an impending situation **

The radio crackled before voices muffled in, **This is Beta 2, over, what's happening over there?**

**We have trouble, few black SUV's pulling in hot, alert all stations coming through. There's also a few more black sedans coming close from the intersecting lanes, homing on target, over**

**Copy that, alerting all stations now, let's pull in.**

The silver Mercedes picked up speed as a few helicopters honed in closer. Few gunman from the black SUV's started firing at the incoming helicopters . The flying vehicles swerved to its right but kept its momentum. A dark red haired man from one of the sedans was barely lit from the search lights, looking into his rear view mirror.

"Alright boys, it's about time we end this little game of cat and mouse"

The other man next to him pulled back his shotgun, "I take it, they're all here? "

"Yes, I hear all of them." He pulls off his black gloves slowly, revealing a dark purple like claw. "Catch up with the rest of the gang, Racer"

The blond hair man in a black suit nodded from the driver's seat, "Already ahead of you, be quick about it, Cobra, You know the boss hates waiting"

Without another word, the backdoor of the vehicle opens and closes within a few seconds. Cobra jumped out on top of the moving vehicle, grinning maniacally at the helicopters. Raising one of his claws towards the closest helicopter, reddish black particles began to shoot out from his sharp nails, encasing the flying vehicle.

**This is Alpha 3, over, We're being targeted by one of the black Sedans, with a tall male standing on top. We need back up now, our vision is being obstructed by some weird smoke**

**Beta 2 calling in, we see the situation, is everyone alright?**

...

**Beta 2 calling in, Alpha 3, do you copy?**

...

**Alpha 3, Can you hear us?**

...

The pilot immediately pulls up when finally noticing the neighboring helicopter starts falling.

"Shit, everyone hang on!"

The pilot pulls further back as he glances down on the impending destruction. The other helicopter crashes down onto the traffic below, propellers snapping on impact causing an explosion as it collided with several cars nearby. The hovering helicopter pilot immediately yanks towards his radio,

**This is Beta 2 calling in all units, change routes to the Stargate bridge NOW! They're getting away, we have lost the highway from collision impact. I repeat change routes to the Stargate Bridge.**

The pilot slams down his hand towards the control stick and pulls the helicopter around.

A blue Ferrari races down the bridge and the tires screech to a halt as two figures immediately jump out of it shortly after. A couple more vehicles stop shortly behind him. A black mustang skids to a halt by the blue vehicle and a tall, black spiked haired male with metal studs around his face walks towards Gray in a few strides. Another male gets out of his black Toyota Supra, making quick strides towards the other guys.

Gray looks to the black haired male who looked leaner than the muscular guy next to him, both guys having their red piercing gaze locked on the street in front of them, "Oi Rogue, Where's Sting? Did he not get the memo?"

The leaner male with his darker red eyes, shifted slightly but kept his gaze ahead towards the incoming cars, "He's with Yukino's back up squad, they'll be here shortly" his voice, despite looking calm, shook slightly, almost as if he was unsure.

Gajeel folded up his arms across his broad chest, his black leather jacket struggling against the muscles restrained behind it, "Get ready you runts, Show is about to start" moving his arms down to his sides, he started flexing his fingers with an iron coating, readying himself. "Whoever causes the most damage has to write out the damage report to Sergeant Erza, Gihi"

The whole group shivered in fear then Gajeel snickered down towards Gray who was also readying himself. The raven-haired male slammed his fists together with ice cold air permeating from him.

"You're on" grinning widely.

Juvia looks sorrowfully towards Gray, " Juvia will help Gray-sama no matter what, even if it means it'll involve an all nighter report"

Gray sighed but paid her no mind. The incoming lights got brighter and the car tires squealed louder, rushing towards the group blocking their escape out of town.

*Beep, beep, beep,*

A blonde haired girl slammed down on her alarm clock, groaning as she glares furiously at the blinking red numbers in front of her. Blinking a few times, she finally sat up from her pink comforter and glances out her window. Her brown eyes barely reflected back at her from the window pane, Looking at the sun barely revealing itself across the city landscape. Fog started to create condensation on the glass from her small warm breaths against the cool glass. She smiled and drew a heart in it before hopping out of the bed.

Nothing better than seeing a beautiful view first thing in the morning. She thought as she skipped towards her kitchen.

Lucy Heartfillia, a rising journalist working for Sorcerer Daily News. She made it her absolute goal to join their station right after her college years. Everyday felt like a dream and has yet to disappoint her. Despite struggling during her intern years, she never let it get her down, especially when powering through it with her best friend Levy McGarden. Being another talented journalist, she later started to also look into joining Magnolia's historical Library as a Librarian.

Lucy bit on her toast as she let her tea steep nearby while glancing towards the TV across the room. Flicking her remote towards the TV, she jumped onto her plush sofa as the morning News played out.

"…..in other news, Amy Deonart reporting live from Grand Square, We believe another Grand heist has happened last night around midnight. Only this time at the Artemis National Bank and no identity or traces has been left behind yet again, Leaving our top detectives and police force at a loss. The search for criminals continues and hopefully with the help of our community and witnesses, we'll be able to bring justice back to this city. "

Lucy sighed as she sat back, twirling the bread crust in her hand. Her eyebrows furrowed tightly together as she stared intently at the Bank behind the news woman. Getting up from her couch, she quickly moves over to her TV and tries to analyze the windows of the Bank before the next program changes the scene.

Huh, that's weird, how'd they get in? Nothing looks remotely touched or broken. Inside job? Possibly…but how do they not have a shrivel of evidence?

Lucy thought through different scenarios, analyzing any possibility of how it could've happened. However, her eye twitched. Something moved in the reflection of the Bank window. It was almost shadow like, but before she can make out what it was, the commercials kicked on.

Dammit, I'm so slow!

Frustrated, she gets up and drags her feet over towards her steeped tea.

Maybe it was nothing. Grimacing at her tea cup, Sigh, Could've been anything to be honest.

Lucy glances up at her clock and her brown eyes widened, Shoot! I'm going to miss my train if I don't hurry up.

Running back towards her room, she grabbed her clothes and towel and raced herself against time.

Sorcerer Daily News Station 12:37pm

"Lu-chan!" a short, blue haired girl ran over to Lucy, holding a pile of papers in front of her.

"Levy! Where have you been? I've been trying to get a hold of you for awhile now. I even tried texting you a few times!" Lucy ran her fingers through her hair before looking down at the small girl in front of her.

"OH!, let me help you with that." The blond grabbed half the stack of papers, revealing Levy behind it.

"Thanks,..and yeah about that…" Levy sighs and places the other stack of papers down. She took a deep breath, slightly fidgeting In place, "…I got a call back this morning for an interview…"

Lucy's eyes widened, "Don't tell me…wait…let me think…"

The petite blunette bit her bottom lip to keep from over smiling, but has failed to hide her excitement from the blonde.

"No…" Lucy nearly screamed excitedly, "Magnolia's Historical Library has responded back to you?"

"YES! I mean it's not 100% guaranteed however from the sounds of it, seems like it was just for formality purposes, BUT! I should technically have no worries getting hired"

"AHHH, I'm so happy for you Levy! We have to celebrate at Cana's bar tonight! They'll be so happy for you!"

"Haha yes I know, I know. So it's settled then, after work well meet up?"

"Mhm, also, Levy as I was trying to say before…" Lucy sat down as she tried assorting her paperwork. Levy picked up her papers again before leaving.

"Hmm?"

Lucy peeked at Levy from the corner of her eye, nearly smirking, "Did Gajeel call back yet?"

The blunette's face turned slightly red, nearly huffing after, "mm-maybe...?"

The blonde took off her glasses and leaned on her elbow, cradling her chin on the back of her hand whilst smiling brightly at her blushing friend, "So he did?" smiling even brighter, "...Does this mean you guys are finally going to hit it off or what?"

Levy spun on her heels and quickly walked off, nearly stomping away. An orange haired male quietly approached Lucy from behind,

"Bullying Levy again I see"

Lucy squeaked and spun her chair around to face a now chuckling, handsome man, "Loke! Don't do that! You're going to give me a heart attack one of these days." Lucy quickly held her chest to soothe her frantic beating heart.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself" He flashed her an innocent smile, "By the way, Lucy" Loke lowered his head, meeting her eye to eye, "Are you going to take me with you to that little celebration gathering of yours? I'll be more than happy to join you"

Lucy huffed slightly, averting her gaze, "Eavesdropping again I see. You know I don't mind your company…however, it'll just be as friends, you know that right?"

Loke sighed and Lucy continued to speak watching him lose his composure ever so slightly, "We've been over this Loke, you're a dear friend and I refuse to ruin that if anything goes wrong"

"Yeah, I know. Hey, doesn't hurt to keep trying though, right?"

Lucy grimaced, dropping the subject momentarily, "Has mom contacted you again recently? I've tried to call her the past few days but I think her and father's trip are still keeping them busy..." Lucy slumped back in her chair, eyeing the growing paperwork in front of her.

"No, not recently, you know I'll always keep my line open for them" he spoke quietly as he watched the girl move her fingers through the loose strands of her golden hair. Lucy nervously bit the bottom of her lip before glancing back up at him.

"Thank you, Leo" she mumbled and turned around. He was just about to turn around when she spoke again a little louder but quicker, "You can come with me tonight if you want, but no funny business…"

Loke smirked, "I'd love to Lucy" Stealing another glance at her before walking away.

Lucy groaned as she straightened up her posture to return back to her work. While adjusting her glasses, she pulled up the newspaper that had today's heist in bold popping out at her. She neatly shook out the paper, adjusted it and folded it in such a way the picture of the Bank was the only thing she saw.

She stared intently at the details of the image, looking for anything out of place, just the slightest bit of a clue to help with the ever growing mystery of the repeated heists. While she loves writing about daily gossip and celebrity news for her journal entries, sometimes a little mystery is a nice refreshing change to get that brain really working.

Her brown eyes scanned over and over at the image before it finally stood out to her, a weird dark shadow in the windows reflection,

So I wasn't seeing things!

She thought while she adjusted her glasses and desk lamp to try and get a better angle of the image.

But it's just a shadow, there's no definite actual figure however, what could possibly leave that on the reflection, there's nothing else nearby.

Lucy groaned as she took off her glasses and looked at the actual article itself.

Criminals still at large, no evidence left behind...yep…same thing that was said on the news...

She let out a loud sigh but suddenly it occurred to her,

Maybe the reason nothing was left behind or destroyed, was probably because of magic. It has to be! There's so few people who use magic now that normal people probably wouldn't even have noticed, unless they're aware but hiding it from the public? Gahhhh! There's too many holes for this, I'm never going to be able to publish a satisfying article for this yet…maybe I should just hit up Mira or Cana for more gossip again…

Lucy got up, pulled on her tiny jacket and purse, folded up the newspaper and shoved it into her work bag as she left.
