It had been a crazy day and the Baudelaires weren't even sure how they got to this strange town. One moment, Mr. Poe was driving them to Westview and then, they were suddenly in Westview. Everything about this place was strange, especially their new neighbors, Vision and Wanda.

They also noticed how strange the name Vision was, but something was blocking them from voicing that thought. Still, Wanda and Vision seemed nice enough. Wanda would offer to babysit Sunny and allow Violet and Klaus to have some free time to themselves.

As they walked through the town, Violet turned to Klaus and said "Why is everything in black and white?"

No sooner had she said that, a few people looked at her and Klaus. Several of them shook their heads at her in warning and even raised their fingers to their lips.

Feeling a little spooked by this, Violet grabbed Klaus's hand and rushed towards the library, one of his favorite places in the world.

As soon as they ran into the building and were away from prying eyes, Violet turned to her brother and whispered "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually starting to miss being chased by Olaf and his troupe. At least we knew what was going on and what they wanted with us."

"I don't miss him at all, but I agree with you. Something is off about this town." Klaus whispered back in a low tone.

"I don't know what it is, but I feel like we're being watched somehow." He added.

Violet nodded her head in agreement as she closed her eyes. Almost as if she tried to sense the force that was controlling this town. Then, she heard a voice in her head asking Who are you? What are you doing here?

Violet let out a gasp of shock as she quickly opened her eyes.

"Violet!" Klaus cried out in both fear and alarm as he added "Are you okay?"

"I don't know…" was all a stunned Violet could say at first.

"Can you tell me what happened?" Klaus gently inquired.

"I'm not sure. I was trying to figure what could be causing this, when I suddenly heard a voice in my head asking me questions."

"What was the voice asking?" Klaus inquired in a somewhat nervous tone before he said "Did the voice sound bad or scary?"

"No, but something about the voice sounded familiar somehow. I can't put my finger on it." Violet answered before she turned to her brother as she added "The voice was asking who I was and what was I doing here?"

Klaus then changed the subject with "Let's go home."

With that, the two elder Buadelaires left the library without Klaus checking out anything. As they walked home, Klaus looked at Violet and said "This is odd."

"You're telling me." Violet said in agreement.

"I don't mean just this place, I also mean that you were able to make mental contact with the force that's controlling everything." Klaus pointed out.

"All I know is that I just go home and have dinner." Violet replied in a somewhat shaky tone.

Soon after, Violet and Klaus rushed home to find their new guardian, Anges making dinner for them and Sunny sitting in a high chair.

"Just where have you been?" She questioned with her arms on her hips.

"We were at the library." Klaus answered.

"And why were you so late?" Anges demanded.

"We lost track of time. We're so sorry, it won't happen again." Violet apologized.

Anges nodded her head in agreement before a smile appeared on her face and added "Who wants pasta for dinner?"

Sometime after dinner, Anges and the Buadeleres were watching tv together. In spite of themselves, Violet, Klaus and Sunny couldn't help but be reminded of when they spend time with their parents and yet, there was something off about the whole thing. When the show ended and bedtime had arrived, the whole world suddenly began to change from black and white to color again.

Violet, Klaus and Sunny couldn't help but gasp in shock, while Anges shrugged it off as she led the children to their own rooms down the hallway.

Violet let out a gasp of delight at the size of her room. Not only did it have a small inventing area, but it also had a bathroom, a bed, a closet and window.

"A girl's gotta have her own bathroom." Anges stated with a smile.

"Thanks, but how can you afford all of this?" Violet muttered in awe.

"I have my ways." Anges answered with a mysterious smile as she adjusted Sunny in her arms before she added "Now say goodnight to your siblings."

Violet smiled as she said "Night Klaus. Night Sunny."

"Night Violet." Klaus replied as Sunny added "Boo boo."

Which meant, "Night Violet."

Anges playfully tapped Sunny on the noise and said, "It seems like I'm going to have to teach you proper English, little lady."

Sunny gave both of her older siblings a look that screamed 'Really?'

However, before either Violet or Klaus could reply, Anges carried Sunny down the hallway as she led Klaus to his new bedroom. Now, it was Klaus's turn to be blown away by the sight of his room. Not only did he have a nice bed and closet for his clothes, but in his room was a library filled with all kinds of books.

Anges smiled as she added "I heard from your parents that you're a big bookworm. So, when I heard you were coming here, I decided to get you a whole library."

For a moment, Klaus was speechless before he managed to utter "Thank you. Thank you so much."

"No need to thank me, kiddo. We're particularly family by now." Anges stated as Klaus smiled at her in thanks before he hopped into his room with joy.

Then, he turned back to look at Sunny and said "Night Sunny. Night Anges."

"Night Klaus." Anges replied as Sunny added "Wewhao." Which meant "Night Klaus."

As Klaus closed the door to his room, Anges looked down at Sunny and said "Wait 'till you see your room, little lady."

As they walked down the hallway, Sunny couldn't help but feel excited. So far, Anges was turning out to be their best guardian since Uncle Monty and she was going above and beyond for them!

Still, when Violet and Klaus would go to school, Sunny wouldn't know what to do then. She hadn't been without her older siblings for a long time. However, before she could continue to dwell on the matter, the baby of the Buadeleres was pulled out of her head as she heard Anges said "Ta Da!"

Sunny blinked as she took the sight of her room. The walls were pink, but the ceiling looked like a rainbow and the best part was she had many things to bite. Anges carried her towards the white crib and as she placed her inside, Anges whispered "Now you get a good night's sleep. We have a lot to do at Wanda's house tomorrow."

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, she pulled out a baby monitor from behind her back and placed it next to the crib as she added "If you need anything, give me a call."

As she walked towards the door with the other baby monitor in her right hand, she stopped for a moment as she turned to face Sunny and said "Night Sweetie."

With that, she blew a kiss before she turned off the lights and closed the door behind her.

For a while, Sunny just rested in her new crib. She was too excited to go to sleep.

Maybe this could all work out. Maybe we could like living in Westview, after we fix whatever's wrong with this town. Sunny thought to herself as she felt her eyelids began to drop.

The next morning, she was awoken when she heard Anges' voice say "Good morning sweetie. Did you have good dreams?"

As she lifted Sunny out of her crib and into her arms, Sunny replied "Bee." Which meant "Yep."

Anges smiled at that as she added "Come on, let's go make breakfast for your siblings before we wake them up, okay?"

With that, she carried Sunny out of her room. However, instead of heading towards the kitchen, Anges took Sunny down into the basement.

As Sunny raised her eyebrows in confusion, Anges adjusted her into one of her arms, while she waved the hand of her free left arm.

A few seconds later, a playpen appeared before her eyes and Sunny opened her mouth to let out a gasp of shock. However, before she could do so, Anges covered her mouth and said "Ah Ah Ah. I'm afraid I can't have you calling your siblings down here and spoiling everything. Besides, you're just a baby. It's not like you can tell them anything about me anyway."

Sunny frowned as she silently vowed to herself I'll show you! I'll tell them everything!

However, before she could come up with a plan, Sunny was pulled out her head as she watched a projection of the kitchen appear before her very eyes. Soon after, a huge breakfast filled with pancakes, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, milk, apples and orange juice appeared on the table. Once Anges was finished, she quickly noticed Sunny's expression of awe and smiled as she said "Yes, Sunny there's so much to teach you and your family."

Anges picked the baby girl up and added "You and your siblings have the potential to develop magical talents one day. I'll tell them when the time is right after my plan is complete."

Plan? What plan? Sunny thought to herself in confusion as Anges carried her out of the basement and back upstairs. Anges walked right into the kitchen and called out "Violet! Klaus! Breakfast is ready!"

As she placed Sunny in a high chair and began to feed her some oatmeal, Violet and Klaus came out of their rooms, still in their pjs.

As soon as they saw the breakfast, Violet and Klaus let out gasps of awe and delight.

"How did you manage to make all this?" Violet uttered in amazement.

Anges smiled as she replied, "That's my little secret."

With that, the two elder siblings sat down and ate breakfast as Sunny was fed by Anges.

Once breakfast was over, Anges turned towards Klaus and said "Why don't we drop by Wanda and Vision's house and see how they're doing with the babies."

"When did they have babies?" Both Violet and Klaus asked once as Sunny raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Yesterday." Anges answered in a matter of fact manner.

"What?" Both Violet and Klaus uttered with shock and disbelief.

"How is that possible? She didn't even look pregnant!" Violet inquired.

"Actually, it is possible for a woman to carry a baby to term without looking pregnant." Klaus said before he added "Look at that horrible Prom Mom case from many years ago."

Anges decided to change the subject with "Enough about such matters, no one wants to talk about something so terrible so early in the morning."

"Why don't we talk about something else? How about your old house, your old school or your old friends before you guys came to Westview." Anges offered.

With that, Violet and Klaus soon chatted with her about their lives before they were orphaned.

The Baudelaire parents were very busy and didn't have time for them very often. However, during the times that were around they showed nothing, but warmth towards their children. Every year, they would make time for Violet during the town's annual inventor's contest. They would have talks with Klaus about the books he had read and when Sunny was born, their mother had taken a whole year off from work to spend with her. Violet and Klaus gladly helped her out.

However, none of those details seemed to interest Anges. Instead, she asked questions like "Did any strange stuff happen around your parents? Things you couldn't explain?"

Violet, Klaus and Sunny wondered what she meant by that. However, before they could ask her, it was soon time to head over to Wanda and Vision's house.

Then, before they knew it, breakfast was finished and Anges walked them over to Wanda and Vision's house. When Wanda and Vision opened the front door, Anges greeted the couple with "Hi neighbors! How are things with the babies? I brought over Violet, Klaus and Sunny to help."

As the Buadeleres waved hi, they quickly noticed several funny expressions on Wanda's face. It was mostly confusion, worry and fear.

Vision looked over at Anges and asked "How did you become guardian of these children again?"

Anges smiled as she said "I found these guys by the side of the road."

Vision and Wanda looked concerned at that and it reminded the Buadeleres that they had no idea how they ended up in Westview.

At once, Violet pulled out her ribbon and tied her hair back as she began to think back to the day that she and her siblings arrived in Westview as hard as she could. However, before she could do so, her head suddenly hurt so much, that she quickly grabbed it as her nose began to bleed.

"Violet! Are you okay?" Klaus inquired in a worried tone.

"I need to go to the bathroom." Violet quickly answered as she quickly hurried away from her siblings.

"Um, the bathroom is that way." Wanda pointed out as she gestured towards the other end of the hallway.

"Thanks Wanda!"

As a highly grateful Violet went in the direction of the bathroom, she held her noise and put pressure on it just as she reached the bathroom and shut the door right behind her. As Violet began to clean her noise and stop the bleeding, she heard Vision outside asking, "Are you okay?"

"I don't know." Violet confessed. "I don't remember how my siblings and I got here. I first heard a strange voice asking me who was I and what my siblings and I were doing here. And now this happened."

Violet heard Vision pause on the other side of the bathroom door before he added "So you notice it then? That something is very wrong with this town."

"Yes." Violet whispered.

"Do your siblings notice it as well or is it just you?" Vision carefully inquired.

Violet paused for a moment before she replied "My siblings notice it too. We don't even remember how we got here."

Violet felt the man thinking over something before he said "Come to think of it, aside from my babies and you 3, I haven't seen any other children in this town."

"What happened to other children and why weren't we affected?" Violet wondered as she retied her ribbon in her hair.

Suddenly, her nose began to bleed again as Wanda called out "Vis! The babies are gone!"

"What!" Both Violet and Vision cried out in shock as Violet quickly grabbed some toilet paper and held it up to her nose as she hurried out of the bathroom.

As soon as Wanda, Anges, Klaus and Sunny saw her, Wanda grabbed some ice from the fridge as Klaus asked "Violet, are you okay?"

Sunny gave her older brother a look that screamed 'Does she look okay to you?'

As Wanda gave Violet the ice, the group suddenly heard two voices that belonged to a pair of little boys as they asked "Mommy? Daddy?"

The group turned around to see a pair of 5 year twin boys walking up to them. They both had short brown hair, matching brown eyes and pale skin.

Just as the Baudelaires were wondering who the children were, they heard Wanda utter "Boys?"

As the boys nodded their heads, Violet quickly muttered "Excuse me, I think Sunny needs to go to the bathroom."

With that, she grabbed Klaus by his hand as she picked up Sunny with her other hand and hurried back to the bathroom. Once she ushered them inside, shut the door behind them and was sure that no one was listing, Violet turned to her siblings and said "Okay. This is just getting crazier and crazier."

"Gah" Sunny added in agreement which meant "You're telling me."

"How did they age so fast?" Klaus wondered.

"And how come I don't even remember Wanda being pregnant in the first place?" He added.

"Things are just getting weirder and weirder." Violet muttered before she continued with "If only there was someone we could trust in this place?"

Then, the answer suddenly came the 14 year old as she recalled her conversation with Vision a few minutes ago.

As Violet mentally slapped herself for not thinking of that sooner, she added in her mind So much for me being a genius.

As she pulled herself out of her head, Violet looked at her siblings as she lowered her voice and said "This is someone we can trust in this place."

"Who?" Klaus inquired as Sunny tilted her head out of curiosity.

"Vision. He knows something's wrong with this place just like we do." Violet explained.

As Klaus and Sunny felt a sense of relief go through them, the moment was interrupted with a knock on the door.

"Hello? How are you guys doing with the diaper changing?" Came Wanda's voice.

"We're fine." Violet quickly replied as she opened the door.

"Can we talk to your husband?" Klaus added.

"I'm sorry, but he had to go to work today. He was called in unexpectedly." Wanda explained.

The Baudelaires glanced at each other, what were they going to do now?

Then, Anges's voice jumped in with "Why don't my kids have a playdate with your boys? They're free."

Violet, Klaus and Sunny had no idea what to think, Vision was at work and they needed someone to talk to. However, it might be good to play with kids again. They haven't done that in a long time.

The Baudelaires nodded their heads in agreement.

Sometime later, the Baudelaires were exploring the town with Billy and Tommy.

"So guys, what do you like to do in your spare time?" Klaus asked the twins.

"We like to play video games, what about you guys?" Billy inquired.

"I like to read." Klaus answered.

"I like to invent things." Violet added as Sunny chimed in with "Be Be." Which meant "I like to bite things."

Violet's statement was the one thing that got Tommy's attention "What kinds of things do you like to invent?"

"Anything that comes into my head." Violet answered.

"Can you invent something right now?" Tommy questioned.

Violet was caught off guard for a moment. However, before she could answer, they heard the sound of a puppy barking.

"Puppy?" Sunny questioned in confusion.

"I don't know, but we'll go and look." Violet answered.

With that, Violet, Klaus, Sunny, Billy and Tommy carefully walked over to the bush. Billy and Tommy decided to take a look and quickly discovered a puppy!

"It's a puppy!" Tommy cried out with delight as he pulled the small dog out of the bush.

Everyone cooed over the puppy for a moment before Klaus said "He sure looks like he could use a bath."

Everyone suddenly became aware of the fact that the puppy was covered in mud.

"Where are we going to wash him?" Violet wondered.

"How about our place?" Billy offered. "You're already spending the day with us."

With that, the Baudelaires shrugged and followed the twins back to their house.

Soon after, Violet found herself giving the puppy who the twins named Sparky a bath, while Klaus was watching Sunny and the twins.

As they waited in the living room for Wanda to come home from grocery shopping, Tommy looked at Klaus and asked "Are you thinking about Sparky?"

"Yeah." Klaus replied.

"I was thinking since me and Billy were the ones who got him out of the bush, that we should be the ones to keep him." Tommy stated.

"We found him together." Klaus reminded the twins as Sunny nodded her head in agreement.

Tommy was about to reply to that, when suddenly they heard the back door open and Wanda's voice calling out "Guys! I'm…"

As her voice trailed off, Klaus picked up Sunny and carried her in his arms as he and the twins hurried into the kitchen.

A few seconds later, they heard the front door open as Vision stepped into the house. At once, both Billy and Tommy hurried back into the living room to give their Dad a hug.

"Woah! Careful boys!" Vision chuckled in amusement as he was almost knocked down by the weight of their hugs.

However, he quickly noticed the puppy in the sink and asked "Who's that dog?"

"We named him Sparky. All of us found him under the bush." Tommy explained before he added "Can Billy and I keep him? We'll look after him! Please! Please! Please!"

As he and Billy put on their best puppy dog faces, Wanda replied with "Boys, I know you mean well, but I think you guys are too young to have a dog and I think it would be best for the Baudelaires to take care of Sparky, if they can."

With that, the twins aged themselves up by 5 years, much to the shock of the Baudelaires.

"Now can we keep him?" Tommy asked.

However, before Wanda and Vision could answer, Violet and Klaus let out cries of shock as they demanded "Who are you people?"

Then, their world went black.

The next thing that Violet and Klaus knew was that they were on the twins bed with Wanda and Vision by their sides.

"Are you guys okay?" Wanda asked in a worried tone.

"Where's Sunny and Anges?" Violet inquired as she sat up.

"Careful." Vision replied as he handed her a cup of water.

"Don't worry, they're downstairs with the boys." Wanda assured them before she said "I'm sorry about the prank the boys pulled on you, we're letting you guys have the puppy if you want him."

"While, I'm thankful for the offer Wanda, but we can't just take in a puppy on a whim." Klaus replied before he added "Don't you need to ask Anges if she's okay with it?"

"Don't worry about it, we've talked about with her as the two you slept and she doesn't mind having a puppy around." Wanda assured the kids. "Just think of it as a present for your new lives in this town."

Violet and Klaus were stunned that she managed to talk their guardian into adopting a puppy, not even their late parents and Uncle Monty would be that easy to persuade.

For a moment, Violet almost thought about bringing up the fact that the twins had aged themselves up.

But then, her head started to ring again and it felt like someone or something was trying to mess with her head.

"I don't feel well, I think we should just go home." Violet said.

"Me too." Klaus agreed.

With that, Vision and Wanda helped the elder Baudelaires downstairs where they were greeted by not only Agnes and Sunny, but by the twins who were now back to being 5 year olds.

Violet rubbed her head as she wondered if she just imagined the whole thing.

Sometime later, Violet was resting in her new house with their new puppy. Sunny was playing with him as she talked to Klaus.

"Did you see the twins age themselves up?" Violet asked Klaus in a whisper.

Klaus only nodded yes before he added "I don't know why, but it feels like we're being watched at times."

"You're telling me. First, the world becomes black and white like those old those tv shows and then became colorful again. Then, Wanda had twins without any signs of pregnancy and now they aged up to 5 and 10 before aging back down to being 5 again."

Sunny looked up from playing with the puppy as she said "Ge goo."

Which meant "You said it."

Violet couldn't help, but giggle at her words and so did Klaus before he managed to compose himself and continue with "As I was saying, the people here are also off….I don't know why but it feels like Anges, Wanda, Vision and their kids are hiding things from us. I don't why, but at times it feels they're trying to gaslight us or something."

"What does gaslight mean?" Violet wondered as Sunny crawled over to her older siblings.

"It means to drive someone crazy and make them doubt their own mind. It's commonly used by abusers to keep people dependent on them." Klaus explained.

Violet didn't know what to say or do. Was their guardian really a bad person and were their neighbors bad people? At least, Count Olaf and his troupe were honest about how terrible they were and never tried to hide it.

Just then, Sunny cried out "Bah!" Which meant "What's that outside the window?"

Both Violet and Klaus rushed towards the window and saw what appeared to be a drone getting ready to fire at Wanda and her family!

Violet didn't waste a second as she quickly picked up both Sunny and Sparky and threw them into Klaus's arms as she said "Get to the basement! I'll find Agnes!"

As Violet began to run all around the house for Agnes, Klaus was trying to hold onto both Sunny and Sparky with one hand while trying to open the basement door.

"What are you doing?" Agnes demanded with clever disapproval in her voice.

Klaus spun around in shock to see Agnes standing there with a frown on her face and her hands on her hips.

Klaus was both relieved and scared for a moment before he quickly said "There's no time! We need to get into the basement now! There's a drone outside Wanda's house and it looks like it's about to fire on her and the twins!"

"What are you talking about?" Agnes questioned. "Are you sure you really saw a drone outside?"

"YES!" Klaus screamed in frustration before he added "I already lost my parents and my Uncle Monty! I don't wanna lose my sisters and you too."

Agnes looked touched at his words and uttered "You guys are so sweet, so wise beyond your years and so special, but it's not your job to worry about me. It's my job to worry about you and your sisters, besides I have a feeling that the problem will work itself out."

"How can you even say that?!" Klaus cried in frustration and fear. "Dones can kill!" He added.

However, before he could continue his rant, the doorbell rang and without thinking, Klaus quickly rushed to the front door, opened it and quickly began to drag whoever it was inside towards the basement.

Then, he heard the voices of the twins call out "Klaus it's us. It's okay, Mom took care of that strange thing outside."

Klaus blinked in shock as he looked down to see the confused twins in his arms as he heard the voice of his older sister uttering "What?"

Klaus and the twins turned to see Violet standing in the hallway.

"I thought I told you guys to get to the basement." Violet ordered as she looked ready to scold them.

Klaus and the twins opened their mouths to explain, but Agnes interrupted with "I'm sorry Violet, I didn't believe Klaus when he told me about the drone until he got me to look out the window. Also, I kept him and Sunny from going into the basement."

"What?! Why would you do that?!" An outraged Violet demanded.

Then, Billy interjected with "Because she somehow knew, what we and our Dad already know, that our Mom can do anything."

"How did she manage to stop the drone?" Klaus questioned.

"I got rid of it." Was all Wanda said with a smile as she entered Anges's house.

Then, she changed the subject with "How about a nice snack to cheer all you guys up?"

Sometime later, the Baudelaires were feeling full thanks to all the snacks that Wanda had made.

"I wish our mother could cook like she could." Klaus muttered to himself.

"Our late maid cooked just fine." Violet reminded her brother as Sunny nodded her head in agreement.

"You guys had a maid?" Tommy questioned with interest.

"Yes." Violet answered with an uncomfortable look on her face.

"What happened to her?" Tommy questioned before it dawned on him "Why are you guys living with Agnes? What happened to your parents?"

Klaus took over for his older sister and he tried to keep the sadness out of his voice and face as he replied, "Our parents were killed in a fire a few months ago."

Soon an awkward silence fell upon Wanda, Agnes and the twins.

Then, Tommy broke the silence with "Mom, can you bring them back?"

A sad look appeared on Wanda's face as she said, "I'm sorry sweeties and I'm sorry Baudelaires, but my powers don't work that way."

"What do you mean?" Tommy questioned. "You made that thing go away. You can bring them back. I know you can."

"Please." Both Billy and Tommy pleaded.

Tears formed in Wanda's eyes as she replied, "I'm sorry, I truly am, but I can't."

Feeling very angry that their hopes were raised and crushed in such a short amount of time, Violet glared at her and said, "Then, what's the point of you?"

With that, she stormed out of Wanda and Vision's house, headed back to Anges's, went to her room and cried herself to sleep.

The next day, Violet awoke to the sound of her brother Klaus uttering "Good morning Violet and happy Halloween. Agnes is getting Sunny dressed up in her costume."

"Wait a minute, when did fall come all of a sudden? We haven't even started school yet." Violet questioned as she jumped out of bed.

"I know, just what's going on with this place?" Klaus agreed before he added "Still, it's nice to go trick or treating again and one of the few good things about this place is that we don't have to worry about Count Olaf."

"Klaus, what are you saying?" Violet asked with concern in her voice.

"I'm saying let's take a break from trying to figure out what's happening and enjoy Halloween again for once." Klaus replied before he added "Besides, we haven't celebrated Halloween in a long time, this is Sunny's first Halloween and Agnes made really nice costumes for us."

Violet allowed a smile to slip on her face as she inquired "What kind?"

"Well Sunny's a Princess, I'm Mark Twain and you're Hedy Lamar." Klaus explained.

"Why would I want to be an old actress?" Violet questioned.

"She's not just an old actress, she created the technology that would become cell phones and WiFi." Klaus explained.

Suddenly, Violet's face lit up at Klaus's words and she hurried out of her room to meet up with Sunny and Anges. Sunny had already been dressed up in her costume and she looked so mad!

Violet and Klaus couldn't help but burst laughing at the sight of a mad Sunny.

Sunny frowned at her older siblings before she said "Ge." Which meant "It's not funny."

"I'm sorry Sunny, but you look positively cute." Violet apologized through her giggles.

"Why don't you kids change into your costumes?" Anges suggested as she tried to hold back her own laughter.

Klaus quickly grabbed his Mark Twain costume and ran all the way to the bathroom.

As they waited for Klaus to finish changing, both Agnes and Violet managed to calm themselves down as Violet asked, "So what's your costume?"

"I'm a witch." Agnes answered with a smile.

Suddenly, Violet noticed something different about Agnes's smile. Unlike her normal smile, which was friendly and motherly, this looked one amused like she knew something that they didn't.

However, before Violet could continue to ponder the matter, Klaus came out of the bathroom, all dressed up in his costume.

He looked kind of adorable, and it took everything in Violet's power not to burst out laughing as she quickly grabbed her costume and hurried towards the bathroom. As she shut the door behind her, she let out a loud laugh that Agnes, Klaus and Sunny could clearly hear.

"I look ridiculous, don't I?" Klaus muttered.

"You look just like your little sister." Agnes stated.

"Oh no! Everyone's going to think I'm a girl!" Klaus cried in horror as he buried his face in his hands.

"No. No. No. No. What I meant was that the both of you look adorable." Agnes quickly explained as she waved her hands in the air. "Everyone is going to love you guys, especially, Wanda and her family."

"But who will watch Sparky and Senor Scratchy?" Klaus inquired.

"Don't worry, they can take care of themselves." Agnes assured Klaus, before she changed the subject with "So, have you read any Mark Twain books?"

"I meant to ask earlier, but I was blown away by how cute you look in your costume." Agnes apologized.

Forcing himself to bite back a frown at being called cute, Klaus replied "Yes, I've read most of them, but I prefer nonfiction."

"What type of nonfiction do you like to read?" Agnes wondered.

"All kinds." Klaus answered just as Violet came out all dressed up in her costume.

"You look nice." Klaus phrased as Sunny gave her older sister a thumbs up.

Violet giggled at her little sister's response before Agnes said "So what da say kids? Ready to go on trick or treating?"

Sometime later, the Baudelaires had joined up with Wanda and her family. They were surprised to see that Wanda's long-lost brother had suddenly arrived and had moved in with them.

Why do things happen so fast around here? Violet thought to herself as she glanced at her younger siblings. She could tell that they were thinking the same thing. Violet wished that she and her siblings had the chance to talk to Vision alone, but she didn't see how they could.

Then, Vision's voice pulled Violet out of her head as he said "Anges, Wanda and I've been talking and we decided that it would be better if you guys went with me."

"Why can't we stay with Anges?" Klaus wondered.

"I'm sorry, I wish I could stay, but I got called in to deal with some stuff." Anges apologized before she gave Violet, Klaus and Sunny a hug.

Then, she let go of them and walked away as she added "Bye Bye, my loves. Bring back some candy for me."

Once she was out of sight, Vision said bye to his family as he ushered the Baudelaires away.

As soon as his family was out of ear shot, he turned to Violet, Klaus and Sunny as he said "I'm so sorry that I had to drag you guys away from this fun night, but it seems that you're the only ones I can trust in this place."

"But what about your wife, your kids and Anges?" Klaus wondered.

A heartbroken look appeared on Vision's face as he replied "I wish I could, but I think my wife is responsible for what happened to this town and that Anges is brainwashed by her just like everyone else is. For some reason, you guys are the only ones unaffected."

A look of shock and horror soon appeared on all 3 Baudelaires faces as Sunny muttered "Ee?" Which meant "Just what have we gotten ourselves into?"

"I don't know, but we're going to find out." Klaus vowed.

Sometime later, Vision and the Baudelaires were walking around town as Violet inquired "So when did you realize that something was off?"

"When the twins were born. Both Agnes and a neighbor were trying to tell me, but after seeing the boys casually age themselves up in front of you guys; it not only gave me the proof that not only something strange was going on, but that Wanda has something to do with it." Vision answered.

"What are you going to do now?" Klaus wondered.

"I'm going to find a way out of here and bring back help." Vision explained before he added "But not before I make sure that they take you guys someplace safe first."

An uncomfortable look appeared on all 3 Baudelaires faces before Violet found her voice with "To be honest, this is the place where we have been the safest for the longest time."

A look of bewilderment appeared on the superhero's face as he inquired "What do you mean?"

With that, Klaus took over for his older sister and recounted the whole story of how their parents died in a fire, how their former guardian tried to blackmail Violet into marrying him by threatening Sunny's life, killing their new guardian and stalking them. This happened to be the one place that he couldn't follow them.

As soon as Klaus finished speaking, a grim look appeared on Vision's face as he said, "Don't worry, I'm going to make sure that monster won't ever be allowed near you again and that idiot banker will be removed from assigning guardians to you."

Violet was about to defend Mr. Poe, but stopped when she realized that Vision was right. Mr. Poe was an idiot and never listened to them whenever they told him about Count Olaf and his troupe, he always brushed them off and dismissed them.

"Who will you be able to get?" Klaus wondered.

"I don't know, but I'll figure it out, after we learn what's wrong with this town." Vision vowed as they got closer to the end of Westview.

Then, they spotted a scene straight out of a horror movie, a couple outside of their house was doing the same thing over and over again, as if someone had a remote on them and was constantly hitting the rewind button.

For a moment, no one could speak. Then, Sunny uttered "Be wag?" Which meant "What kind of horrible world is this?"

"You and me both." Klaus added before Violet cleared her throat as he quickly added "I mean you and me three."

In spite of the situation, Vision let out a chuckle as he said, "Come on, let's find a way out of this town."

At once, the Baudelaires felt scared in spite of themselves. What would they find on the other side?

Then, almost as if he could read their minds, Vision turned to the Baudelaires and said, "Don't worry, I'll make sure that you guys are safe."

As they continued to walk down the road, the group was greeted by the surprise of a frozen car on the edge of town! Not only that, but the driver was Agnes herself!

All 3 Baudelaires let out gasps of shock as Sunny uttered "Ee?!" Which meant "What the heck is going on?!"

"I don't know, but let's hope that we'll find out." Klaus replied in an attempt to reassure his little sister as Vision did something to Agnes's head. Then, she froze and inqiured in confusion "Where am I?"

"Agnes? Are you alright?" Vision questioned.

As Agnes came too, she looked at Vision and asked, "Have the rest of the Avengers come to save us?"

He's an Avenger? Klaus thought to himself as he mentally facepalmed. How did I not know that?

Then, he was pulled out of his head as he heard Vision ask "Avenger? What's an Avenger?"

"You don't know what an Avenger is?" Klaus uttered in astonishment before he gasped out "I just remembered that your own wife used to be one for Pete's sake."

"What?" Was all Vision could say before Agnes let a tearful laugh as she muttered "All is lost…"

Then, Vision did something to Anges's head again and she returned back to her brainwashed state as she said "Hi Vis. Hi guys. How's Halloween going?"

For a moment, no one knew what to say. However after a few seconds has passed, Vision patted Klaus on his head. Suddenly, Klaus knew what to say.

"It's going fine. How about you?" He inquired.

"I'm fine, I just had to make a quick stop at the office." Agnes assured Klaus as she added "See you guys at home."

With that, she turned around and drove back home.

As soon as she was out of ear shot, Klaus turned to Vision and asked "Why would you do that? We could've had another friend help us."

Vision let out a sad sigh as he said, "The last time I undid someone's brainwashing, they were having a melt down and I was left with no choice but to restore the brainwashing."

His words reminded the Baudelaires that not all people were as emotionally strong as them.

Then, Violet took over as she asked "Why us? How come we're immune to Wanda's powers when she managed to brainwash the rest of the town?"

Vision gave her a sad look as he said, "I don't know, but I'm going to find out."

Sometime later, the group of 4 managed to get to the end of town and found a forcefield that blocked Westview from the rest of the world. Vision decided to go through it first.

However, when he began to let out cries of pain, the Baudelaires knew that they needed to act now or something terrible would happen.

Violet quickly tied her hair back with a ribbon and began to look around for anything she could use to bring Vision back.

However, before she could find anything, Sunny called out "Gak?!"

Which meant "What's that?!"

Violet and Klaus quickly turned to what she was pointing at, and they saw a big wave of red energy coming towards them!

Violet soon shoved Sunny into Klaus' arms as she yelled "Run!"

Without wasting a second, Klaus did as he was told and ran with Sunny as fast as he could. However, Violet hesitated for a moment, should she help Vision and risk leaving her siblings the same way that their parents left them?

The twins would still have Wanda. Violet thought to herself just before the wave of energy came closer towards Vision and herself.

Violet pushed that thought out of her head and grabbed Vision before she started to hurry back towards her siblings. Sadly, just as she reached Klaus and Sunny, the red wave enveloped them all.

A few seconds later, the Baudelaires were greeted by the sights and sounds of a circus.

"What the…?" Was all Klaus could utter in shock.

While Violet shared an equally bewildered look with her brother, Sunny on the other hand was delighted at suddenly being in the middle of a circus. Largely, because she had never been in one before.

"We gotta find Vision and get out of this place." Violet muttered in shock.

Klaus nodded his head in agreement as Sunny looked disappointed.

Klaus turned to Sunny and said "This isn't a real circus. Nothing in this place is real. We'll take you to a real circus after we find Vision, figure out what's going on and get out of here."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Baudelaires heard Vision calling out to them with "Baudelaires! Thank goodness I found you and thank goodness you're safe."

All 3 Baudelaires spun around to see Vision running up to them, still in his costume just like they were.

"Are you okay? What happened to you?" Violet asked right away.

"I don't know, one moment I was falling apart and the next thing I knew was that my wife expanded the forcefield." Vision explained.

Sunny gave him a sad look as she said "Ga ba." Which meant "So this trip was all for nothing?"

Much to the Baudelaires's surprise, Vision replied with "No, I found someone who can help us. Come, let me take you to her."

As he led the Baudelaires to his newfound friend, Klaus asked "How can you suddenly understand Sunny? I thought that only we could."

Vision gave him a confused look as he answered "I'm not sure."

Then, a few seconds later, through the clowns and acrobats, they spotted a dark haired girl with pale skin, blue eyes and glasses.

"There she is. She's the one that can help us." Vision explained to the Baudelaires.

At once, the girl spun around and inquired, "Are you talking about me?"

Then, she frowned and added "I don't have time for this, I'm an escape artist, not a nanny. Take the kids to security if they're lost."

The Baudelaires looked at Vision in disbelief. The expressions on their faces all, but screamed, This person can help us!?

Vision gave the kids a sheepish look as he uttered, "Looks like she's been brainwashed too."

This caused the girl to give them an annoyed but confused look as she said "Brainwashed? What are you guys talking about? Do you guys even have an act or what?"

With that, Vision walked to the girl and did the same thing that he did to Agnes earlier. She let out a gasp of shock as she uttered "Where am I and what am I wearing?"

Then, she looked at the Baudelaires and said "Who are you guys?"

However, before either Vision or the Baudelaires had the chance to explain, the ringmaster came over to the group and demanded that they get ready to perform.

Instead, both Vision and the girl ushered the Baudelaires into a sweet truck and drove off as fast as they could.

Once they were on the road and far away from the circus, the girl turned to the Baudelaires and said "Now I remember who you guys are, you're those rich orphans that vanished along with most of the people in Westview. My name is Darcy and I'm part of a group that's been trying to figure out what's going on."

"Have you guys figured it out?" Violet inquired.

"Well, all we know is that Wanda went mad with grief after losing Vision here and somehow managed to bring you back to life after you were killed by Thanos." Darcy explained.

"Who's Thanos and why me?" Vision wondered.

Suddenly, Klaus let out a gasp of shock as he cried out "I remember! I remember now! Thanos was the one who snapped half of the universe out of existence!"

Then, Klaus looked confused for a moment before he asked, "Why didn't you come back to life when Bruce snapped half the universe back?"

Darcy gave Klaus a sad look as she replied "I looked over the files and I learned that it was because Vision was created with an infinity stone and killing him was the only way that Thanos could achieve his plans. Also from what I read, people who were killed for the infinity stones can't come back to life."

As soon as they heard those words, the Baudelaires turned towards Vision with tears in their eyes. Vision looked like he was about to cry himself before he turned towards Darcy and said, "You mean if this place returns to normal, I die again, but with no way to return to life?"

Darcy didn't answer.

At once, Violet, Klaus and Sunny pulled Vision into a tight hug that seemed to last forever. Vision eventually managed to compose himself and pull away from the Baudelaires as he looked at Darcy and asked "Why me? Why did she steal my body and bring me back to life?"

"Because you were her boyfriend and her only real family she had left after her twin brother died a few years ago. Prior to losing him, she lost her parents during a civil war in her home country when she and her twin were a few years younger than you are Klaus." Darcy explained.

Suddenly, the Baudelaires understood Wanda's grief and why she did what she did all too well. If they were in her shoes, they would try to bring their parents back to life too.

Then, they were pulled out of their heads as they heard Vision said, "I'm going to go to Wanda and try to get her to return things to normal."

Vision looked at Darcy and added "These kids and these kids alone were unaffected by Wanda's power. Can you put them in protective custody? Also, there's a crazy man after them for their fortune."

Darcy gave the Baudelaires an odd look as she questioned "How?" Then she added "I'll see what I can do."

However, during the time they were traveling back to Westview, the van had been in all kinds of crazy traffic stops. Like deer crossing the street, the van suddenly running out of gas and the traffic lights not working properly, just to name a few. Eventually, Vision decided to fly back to Westview and yelled to Dracy to look after the Baudelaires as he flew off.

Once he was gone, Darcy turned to the Baudelaires and said, "Got any ideas on how to get to Westview?"

Violet was just about to tie her hair back with her ribbon when Sunny called out "Gah!"

At once, Violet and Klaus looked out the window and saw a flash of white flying towards Westview.

"What was that?" Violet wondered aloud.

"What was what?" Darcy questioned.

If the situation wasn't so serious, all 3 Baudelaires might've burst out laughing. Instead, Klaus kept a straight face as he replied "We just saw a flash of white fly towards Westview."

Darcy's face became pale as she uttered "Then Wanda's in trouble."

"What do you mean?" Violet asked.

Darcy let out a gasp of shock as she uttered "That jerk! He told me that Wanda stole Vision's body and brought him back to life. However, based on what you guys just told me, I don't think she did in the first place."

At her words, Klaus suddenly recalled the word Gaslighting, which meant to knowingly drive another person crazy.

He quickly pulled himself out of his head as he turned to Darcy and said, "Let me get this straight, this all happened because some government agent was trying to gaslight Wanda?"

"What's gaslighting?" Darcy wondered.

"It means that you drive another person crazy on purpose." Klaus explained.

"Why would anyone want to do that?" Darcy questioned.

"There could be a number of reasons." Klaus repiled before he added "To get a hold of something that they have, to keep the other person under their control, to make them look crazy or get them to do something…"

"That's it." Darcy cried with a snap of her fingers and as soon as traffic cleared, she sped off.

"What's it?" Violet questioned.

"She never stole Vision's body; he only tricked us into thinking that she took him!" Darcy yelled in anger.

"Who's he?" Violet wondered.

"Some jerk government bigwig who's going to prison once I catch up with him." Darcy replied before she added "He gaslighted Wanda just so that he could use the energy that she gave off to bring the real Vision back to life."

"What?" Violet and Klaus cried out in shock before Klaus added "I can't believe I'm saying this, but it sure sounds right."

Sunny just looked at the group with her jaw dropped as Darcy managed to reach town. Just then, she and the Baudelaires noticed the sky becoming red and walls of red energy weakening.

"What's going on?" Darcy muttered to herself as she sped back towards town.

"You're telling me." Violet replied as Klaus and Sunny nodded their heads in agreement.

Then after what seemed to be forever, they finally reached the town. However, they noticed a bunch of government cars all over the place.

"Oh no." Darcy muttered to herself.

"What's going on?" Klaus inquired.

"Seems that jerk I told you about is putting his plan into action." Darcy answered in a grim tone.

"What can we do?" Violet wondered.

"I don't know, but I'll figure something out." Darcy promised.

Soon after she uttered those words, she noticed the jerk that she just mentioned was about to run over the twins!

With that, she called out to the Baudelaires "Hold on tightly to each other."

As the Baudelaires did as they were told, Darcy sped up the van and crashed into the jerk's car, pinning him against the wall of a nearby store.

"Hey!" The jerk cried out in anger.

"Have fun in prison." Darcy cheerfully greeted. Then, she turned to the Baudelaires and asked, "Are you guys, okay?"

All 3 shaken Baudelaires nodded their heads. With that, they got out of the van and began looking for Vision. Soon after, they found him with his family, and he quickly pulled them into a hug.

"Are you guys, okay?" Vision asked right away.

"Yeah, we're fine." Klaus replied before he added "What about you? Are you guys okay and where's Agnes?"

A sad look appeared on Wanda's face as she said "I'm so sorry, guys. I truly am. Agnes isn't who you thought she was. She was really a centuries old witch named Agatha who was after my powers and yours as well."

"Our powers?" Violet and Klaus uttered in a somewhat disbelieving tone as Sunny raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, that's why she pretended to be your guardian." Wanda explained.

"At first, she was only interested in me, but when she sensed the 3 of you coming through town, she secretly used her magic to bring you guys to her. As well as study your immunity to my powers." Wanda added.

Vision took over with "Wanda is returning Westview to the way it was before she came here and we're going to spend time together before…"

He trailed off for a moment before he added "How would you guys like to join us?"

All 3 Baudelaires tearfully nodded their heads. They knew it was the right thing for Wanda to do, still they were going to miss Vision and the twins.

With that, the Baudelaires followed Wanda, Vision and their boys back into their house.

After Wanda and Vision tucked their boys into bed, they invited the Baudelaires into the boys room to have one final talk with them.

"We're sorry that we scared you guys when we aged ourselves up. We only wanted our parents to let us keep Sparky." Tommy apologized as his brother nodded his head in agreement.

Violet gave the twins an understanding smile as she replied, "It's fine, do you know how many times Klaus and I begged our parents to let us have a puppy?"

"But we've never seen two five year olds age themselves up before and you guys scared the heck out of us." Klaus added.

This caused both of the Baudelaires and the Twins to laugh for a moment before Billy changed the subject with "After we…go away with our Dad, can you guys do us a favor?"

"Sure." Both Violet and Klaus replied as Sunny nodded her head in agreement.

"Look after our Mom for us, she's going to need someone after we go away." Billy added.

That statement hit too close to home for the Baudelaires. They needed someone after their parents died, but the adults in their lives had been either useless or evil. The only good adult that they had in their lives was their late Uncle Monty and Olaf had killed him. However, the Baudelaires had a feeling that if they stuck with Wanda, not only would Olaf and his troupe have a very hard time finding them, but they would also be in for a rude awakening if they tried to pull any of the same tricks that they pulled on Uncle Monty.

With that, both of the twins hugged the Baudelaires as Tommy said "You guys are the best friends ever."

"And so are you guys." Violet agreed as she, Klaus and Sunny pulled Billy and Tommy into a hug.

For a moment, the hug seemed to last forever and then the moment ended with the Baudelaires slowly letting go of the twins as they hurried downstairs to meet up with Wanda and Vision. As soon as the couple saw them, Wanda and Vision embraced the Baudelaires like their own children. Violet, Klaus and Sunny began to tear up at being held like this.

Upon seeing them cry, Wanda pleaded "Don't cry. It will only make this harder."

"Can we stay with you? We promised Billy and Tommy that we would look after you after everything goes back to normal." Klaus pleaded.

Wanda gave them a tearful smile as she replied, "I would love that, but you guys deserve a life of your own away from my mess."

"You don't think that we already tried that?" Violet answered before she continued with "Our lives ended the day our parents died, and it got worse with Olaf coming into our lives and trying to get his hands on our money."

"It's true Wanda, the person who assigns the Baudelaires their guardians is a complete idiot." Vision added.

A look of shock and then understanding appeared on Wanda's face as she said "Alright, you guys can stay with me, but I want you all to understand that it won't be an easy life with me, being in hiding from the rest of the world."

"We know." Both Violet and Klaus answered as Sunny nodded her head in agreement.

Wanda added, "I also don't understand your immunity to my magic, but I'll do my best to look after you guys."

With that, all 3 Baudelaires tearfully threw their arms around her and Vision before they left the room to give the couple one last private moment before everything went back to normal. As they felt the world around them returning to its natural state, the Baudelaires hugged each other and wept for the family. Then, before they knew it, the world was back to normal, and Wanda's family was gone. Violet, Klaus and Sunny rushed back to Wanda's side as they gave her a hug. Then, they let go as Wanda let Violet and Klaus slipped their hands into her own as Violet carried Sunny in her free arm.

"Where are we going to go?" Klaus wondered.

"I don't know, but I'll find someplace safe and quiet for us." Wanda assured them.

However, just as they were about to leave Westview, another neighbor of Wanda's who they heard was called Geraldine ran up to them and demanded "Wait! Where are you going with those kids, Wanda?"

"We're going with Wanda because we want to, and we can help each other with our grief and gifts." Violet quickly interjected.

Geraldine looked confused as Wanda added "It's true Monica. They're orphans who don't have anyone else and are immune to my powers."

"Why are you calling her 'Monica?" Klaus wondered as Sunny nodded her head in agreement.

"It's a long story." Wanda explained before she changed the subject with "It's true. I haven't done anything to these kids, I couldn't do anything to them even if I tried. They're like my own children."

As Violet, Klaus and Sunny nodded their heads in agreement, an uneasy look appeared on Geraldine or Monica's face and Violet could tell that she was going to object to them leaving Westview with Wanda.

So, Violet quickly interjected with "We've been stalked by a former guardian of ours who only wants our money and until we came here, the adults in our lives have been useless or evil. With Wanda, we've been the safest we have been before our parents died. So please don't take that away from us."

Geraldine or Monica looked torn for a moment before she replied with "Don't make me regret this and Wanda, you better keep those kids safe. If not, you're going to answer to me."

Wanda and the Baudelaires gave her a grateful smile before Wanda wrapped her arms around the Baudelaires and flew herself and the children far away from Westview.

Sometime later, they had found a cabin in a forest that was hidden from the rest of the world. They settled down there and soon spend their days trying to learn more about Wanda's powers and the Baudelaires's immunity to them. It went on like this for a while, until one day, they heard the voices of Billy and Tommy crying out to Wanda for help.
