Possession
Hazy… everything feels so dark and unreal. Why? Why was his mind so foggy? What had happened?
But equally puzzling- where was he?
Xiao opened his eyes slowly, but his eyelids were already threatening to droop closed again. He was exhausted and groggy. But why?
Ah, wait! The summoning spell! He was awake again at last! He wondered what century it was this time. The room was large and smelled lightly of fresh cut roses, incense and candle wax.
Xiao had answered many summons from many would-be masters. But this was the first time in centuries that he had been summoned to a palatial mansion.
Everything about this place was magnificent, from the inlay marble floors and the matching countertops to the colossal double staircase he could see through the large doorway.
This was a place worthy of Rex Lapis. His master- his one true love. When the deity had vanished unexpectedly, Xiao locked his own spirit into the white flame candle hoping that someday his master would be reborn and light it and they would be reunited at last.
Xiao was more disoriented than he thought though, luckily, he managed to keep himself from tumbling ungracefully to the floor.
Next to him, a tall man peered down at him. The man was shocked and confused by Xiao's presence in the room right beside him.
But to Xiao, that wasn't important- in this era, it seemed that no one ever suspected the lighting of a simple candle would summon a long dead spirit.
So, all that mattered to him was that this man was both familiar and incredibly handsome. He had lovely dark brown hair that was golden at the tips. His normally luminous, golden eyes were glowing at the moment but he wasn't smiling. "Hey, w-what the fuck?"
"Finally! My Lord! I found you!" Xiao smiled, and simply pulled him into a sweet, but passionate kiss by his tie.
His master seemed a bit startled at first, but after a moment, he groaned and began to return it. Xiao let the kiss linger for a while, just enjoying the taste of him and his spicy, musky scent. He purred as his lord pulled him to the edge of the table next to the recently lighted blue flame candle and positioned himself between his half naked thighs.
Xiao moaned happily as his lord's familiar, muscular form pressed against him. Xiao slid one arm around his neck to play with his long ponytail and the other hand down to find his lover's cock through his robes.
But Xiao was quite disappointed when he realized his master wasn't wearing his archon robes. Instead he was wearing a dark silk suit in a style that Xiao had never seen before… Odd, but oh well, his master still looked amazingly handsome in them.
His Lord, meanwhile, jumped away so quickly that he backed hard into the kitchen counter behind him and stayed there. Xiao purred, his long, soft tail twitched behind him in amusement as he slid off of the oversized dining room table and started to follow him.
His master blushed adorably and tried unsuccessfully to take another step back where he stared at him in shock.
"Who are you? How did you get in here?" His lord didn't seem pleased. "Why did you kiss me?"
"That's not funny, my Lord. I am Xiao," Xiao pouted wondering what kind of absurdly silly sex fantasy his master was trying to act out with him this time. "I've been searching for you for at least a thousand years. And now you're here! Clearly you want me as much as I want you. So, why deny us both the pleasure?"
"I… uh. Are you kidding? You can't just… appear in this house and kiss me…" Xiao was pleased though when his master looked him up and down several times, and was more impressed each time.
Xiao knew he was sexy. That had never been up for debate with any of his summoners. He was small and petite, but with large, golden eyes, the mark of enlightenment and his little cat ears and tail, he was no ordinary man. He was an adeptus, an enlightened beast whose true form was technically a leopard. Though his favorite form was that of a housecat. He loved to be held in his master's arms, carried, cuddled and petted.
Wearing an elaborate dancer's costume of fine sapphire silk and absurdly expensive jewelry, Xiao's sleek, elegant body was tightly muscled without being bulky and unusually graceful. He wore form fitting shorts that didn't quite reach mid thigh and no shirt. There were two scarves tied together to cover some of his belly right now but the silk was quite transparent.
"Technically I can appear anywhere. I'm an Adeptus, my Lord. That's a magical being that mortals used to like to call demigods. And it seems your mind and body have forgotten, but you are one too. After all, you are Rex Lapis, Prime of the Adepti." Xiao purred.
"No, I'm Zhongli. Head of Harbor Real Estate. And this house is our first really big sale. So please, go away."
"Not a chance. I want to get better acquainted with your current vessel," Xiao purred. Honestly, he was still puzzled by seeing his god dressed in such strange clothes, but the well tailored pants allowed him to see evidence of his master's growing arousal very plainly. "I missed you, my Lord."
Apparently, his master noticed what he was looking at and promptly closed and buttoned the suit jacket, covering himself quite indignantly.
Xiao chuckled. He could still smell the scent of his arousal. So spicy and enticingly musky that it was hard to give his lord the space he seemed to want.
It did seem odd that his lord's hair was actually shorter than Xiao's right now. Why would Rex Lapis get rid of the ponytail when he so loved to feel Xiao running his fingers through those long, silken strands as they made love?
"I- uh… No," Zhongli said. He shook his head. "You must've mistaken me for someone else!"
Xiao paused.
Well, he had to admit, his master actually managed to look even more confused than Xiao felt. But no. He didn't make mistakes like that. This exquisite man was definitely his master because he looked the same, smelled the same and even tasted the same. How could it be anyone else when it was so clearly him? They even had a very similar aura, the intricate balance of which could not be copied- even magically.
"This is not a mistake. You have been my lord and master for 2,500+ years. I know you better than anyone."
" My name is Zhongli, not my Lord or anything else. The gods disappeared a long time ago and the adepti never existed! Just stay there."
Xiao followed him anyway. "Well, yes. The gods disappeared. But the adepti were very real too. I linked my soul to this candle so I suppose I'm no longer alive in the physical sense. But it was worth it to have finally found you." He grinned.
"This is a random candle stick that my idiot partner picked up at an antique store. We're getting ready to put this house on the market for sale for seven million dollars. I'm a real estate agent. And you can't be in here," Zhongli's eyes narrowed angrily. "Wait! Did that little bastard Venti put you up to this sick joke?"
"No one put me up to anything, my Lord," Xiao rolled his eyes, annoyed now too. "I don't like jokes. And you lit the candle so now you are stuck with me. You might as well accept it and take me to bed, because we both know you want me."
"I told you, I'm working," Zhongli stared at him for a moment, shocked. "Magic isn't real. Every child knows what an adeptus is but they are fairy tales and legends. Nothing more."
"Of course I'm real," Xiao purred. "Would you like to kiss me again to prove it? You do want to. I can smell your desire for me. "It's been a few thousand years, but you and I were lovers. You served as ruler of the Guili Assembly with Lady Guizhong for millenia- and when you disappeared I swore I would find you again. And I have."
"You aren't making any sense! Guili Assembly? That was destroyed several millennia ago. There are even archeologists who have begun to doubt that it ever existed in the first place."
"Lady Guizhong would be heartbroken to hear you say something so ridiculous. We have lived there in peace for millenia. She missed you too and wanted you to come home as well."
Zhongli shook his head. "This is impossible. But where did you come from? How did you appear out of the candle smoke? It looked like magic- but it can't be."
"I told you. Mortals haven't been able to awaken visions for hundreds of years, but magic itself still exists within the hearts of the surviving adepti. You lit the candle and I was summoned here. And I knew right away that it was you who summoned me. Nothing is impossible."
"You're saying you're really an adeptus?" Zhongli sighed and shook his head. "Ugh- this is the weirdest dream ever."
"No, my Lord, this is not a dream," Xiao grinned. "And you're an adeptus too, you know."
"No. That's impossible," Zhongli sighed tiredly. "Hey- if you're linked to the candle, if I put the flame out can I make you disappear, right?"
Xiao giggled. "You can try. But I am now linked to you rather than the candle. You lit the candle so you are my master. Most people don't take this much convincing. But I'll allow it since it's cute that you want me and you aren't sure what to do about it."
Zhongli blushed. "Yes, well, your fuzzy ears and tail are cute but you probably shouldn't go outside like this. You'd draw too much attention, dressed like that. The cops will probably try to arrest you for indecent exposure.."
"You needn't worry about that. I'm Xiao, my Lord. Though I choose to be your pet, I am still the last surviving yaksha. The only cage that could ever hold me would be your arms."
Zhongli blushed predictably.
Xiao giggled but before he could say anything, Zhongli looked up at him again. "So, are you a cosplayer or something? I don't recognize your costume, but it's fantastic. Your ears and tail really do look real. I guess they do remind me of the bedtime stories that every child in Liyue grows up with."
"My ears and tail are very real. Thousands of years ago a lot of people were born with animal features because adepti are mystical animals. But many among them were so curious about mortals, that they often took human form to choose their lovers, rather than another adepti.
"So since you have animal ears and a tail does that mean that you're a halfbreed?"
"No. I just have a kinky master who happens to love playing with my tail while he fucks me from behind. I can transform at will. This is just the form I thought you would recognize most easily."
"I want to say I don't have time for this, but luckily this is probably just the weirdest dream ever."
"It's not a dream. I've always stood beside you. I've been your lover in your eternal court for centuries since you rescued me from my former master almost three thousand years ago."
Zhongli sighed, looking at the incredibly intricate costume that his unusual guest was wearing. He had never seen anyone as beautiful as his young visitor in that colorful finery. The temptation to touch him was almost irresistible. "But I'm not Rex Lapis, Morax or a god of anything else either. Will you please go away? You really can't run around dressed like that!"
Xiao frowned. "But my garments are a gift from you. Why would I want to wear something else?"
'Because you look like a sex slave, maybe?' Zhongli felt guilty saying it though. He was too beautiful to be real! "Your clothes aren't- appropriate for winter and it's literally snowing outside."
"Hey, are you almost done, Zhongli? I need some help arranging the mantle in the blue drawing room." The girl who stuck her head in the door was a brunette with reddish brown eyes and long pigtails. "Uh wait- there's no one here. Who have you been talking to?"
"I-" Zhongli glared at Xiao who grinned impishly. He was clearly enjoying the fact that the girl couldn't see him. "I was just on the phone, sorry. I'll be right there!"
The girl smiled as she studied the room and the candle in the center of the massive carved dining room table. "Hey what a gorgeous candle! Why does it have a white flame though? Whatever, I knew it would look perfect in this crystal holder. We're totally holding onto that set for dressing up the next open house!"
Zhongli "Uh, sure, just go wait for me in the other room…"
She stared at him owlishly. "Why?"
"I'm going to the bathroom?"
"Fine, fine grouchy," Hu Tao huffed and marched out of the room. "You're the boss, I'm just the intern…"
"S-So she can't see you?" Zhongli growled, keeping his voice low. "Thank God."
"Well, she can if I let her. Would you like her to see me? I don't mind if you want her to watch or even participate, but just know that I have no interest in females and be warned; I will not share you with anyone for very long..."
"Will you stop that? I am not going to- nevermind. I have work to do! Try not to touch anything."
"I still don't understand why you want to pretend that you don't want me. Your body says very clearly that you do."
"I'm 28, not some hormonal teenager on prom night. I just got out of a relationship and I'm not interested in another one."
"Honestly, I don't understand this game you're playing with me, my Lord. I just want to hold you and be held in your arms again."
Something about those golden eyes took his breath away. They looked so beautiful and earnest… "Please, just call me Zhongli. But I really need to get back to work."
Xiao sighed. "We already have a relationship. You just don't remember it yet, my Lord. "
"I still don't know where you came from, I guess. But you're obviously confused," Zhongli sighed. "It's just heartbreaking that someone as beautiful as you are, is used to being abused to survive."
"Don't be silly. You've never abused me." Xiao asked. "Others who have lit the candle have tried, but the candle and I just disappear when that happens. And with my spear, I'm far from defenseless."
"But that isn't the point. You don't need to serve me or anyone else," Zhongli sighed. "Anyway, I can't just throw you out into the snow. Especially while you're confused like this. If you promise to be quiet and don't bother me again while I'm working, you can stay with me for a while. I live alone and honestly, it has been too quiet around there since my fiance passed away."
"Your former lover died?"
"Yes, two years ago. We were going to be married. But Ajax had kidney cancer and it progressed more rapidly than the doctors anticipated. Since that day I realize now that I've been too busy being angry with the world to try to find someone else. In some ways it feels like yesterday."
"So, you're lonely and you want me to stay with you, but you don't want to touch me?"
Zhongli blushed but nodded. "Well. Yes, because I can't just throw you out in the snow while you are so confused."
"I'm not the one who is confused, my Lord." Xiao sighed as his stomach growled. "But thank you for not trying to throw me out."
Zhongli nodded. "Whatever. I just don't want to take advantage of you. You are very confused right now and that makes you vulnerable!"
"Wait, I guess I am a little confused, but only because you haven't bent me over this table and fucked me yet… Like a normal summoner."
His master blushed again and hurried out of the room. Xiao smirked.
It was only a half hour later that a steady stream of people in fancy clothes began meandering through the mansion. Xiao was curious to know what they were here for exactly, but he was just glad that none of the groups hung around for very long.
Since he was invisible, Xiao wandered the house with the tourists and climbed onto the bed in the master bedroom and decided to wait for Zhongli to find him once all of the potential buyers left.
Everyone seemed impressed with the mansion. Although Xiao was most impressed with the king sized bed. It was soft and the luxurious ivory satin bedspread looked good with the silk and gossamer scarves that made up Xiao's garments.
None of the guests were able to see him, but Xiao didn't mind, now that he had found his master, no one else would ever touch him again.
But, as the open house dragged on, Xiao decided to curl up in the bed as a house cat. No one would ever confuse him with a normal house cat, but no one would actually see him, anyway.
Under strong sunlight, Xiao had a deep teal colored coat, just like his hair. With brilliant golden eyes and the mark of enlightenment on his forehead. His makeup stayed in place as well as he switched forms too. His eyes were lined with kohl and his eyelids looked like they'd been brushed with copper.
It seemed that even in this world his master was a workaholic. It was kind of sweet that Zhongli didn't want to take advantage of him. But keeping him waiting this long after waking him up wasn't fair.
Well, once Zhongli saw him in bed, he would be powerless to resist breeding him this time. He couldn't wait until this nonsense was all over. Xiao was going to suck him dry and not let that man out of bed for a week.
