If it was any another week she would be "ok" with that. Not this week. She didn't want to call him. If she could, she would easily avoid him until "this" was over. Since he came back it has been just a mix of feelings, oscillating between "thinking she wants to tell him about what happened" and "no way she is telling that story ever again".
After the "first round", she was furious at him for not coming back, for not even sending a single message. It was in all newspaper, website, just everywhere. He had to know about it. That anger was overwritten with sadness and disappointment after a while. She wasn't surprised after the "second round". Then he came back and haven't said anything either. That made her think he hasn't heard anything about it. The moment never came and she doesn't want to have that talk right now. Specially, right now. She must focus on the case.
She called Srgt. Bell and gathered any information OC might have so far. They were investigating the monogram's case as the first body was found during another of their case. That was two weeks ago. Finn and Amanda were on their way to the OC squad, and she was going to Chief's office.
—
Finn has shown what they had so far.
- Different from the second victim, Molly Adams wasn't raped. That is why we didn't inform SVU. -Bell stated.
- First victim was found in one of the basement's rooms of the money laundering headquarters. There were only IT guys working there. They didn't even know about the basement. -Jet added.
- Any evidence from the room, access to the building, DNA trace? -Amanda asked.
- No. Or we found the body before he could get rid of it or he just decided to leave there. -Stabler started.- Maybe because he didn't rape her and was ashamed, or something else happened. She was definitely not in such bad shape as the second victim.
- Do we have anything that can connect them? -Bell asked Jet.
- Still searching for a link between Crystal and Molly. Beside similar ages and both having brown hair and eyes, nothing yet. -Jet wasn't looking at them anymore. She was still paying attention to what they were saying but her eyes were on the monitors.
Meeting was over for now. Before Finn could leave, Elliot pulled him to the corner.
- Hey Finn, where is Olivia? Thought she would be here.
- She had to go to Chief's office and a few minutes ago she and Velasco decided to go and talk with the families.
- Right… Is she ok?
- Why are you asking?
- I sent some messages a few days ago but she hasn't replied most of it and when she did, it was just yes/no kind of answer.I didn't want to call as she seemed busy but I don't know, something is just bothering me about this.
- She is fine Stabler. I gotta go.
- Sure. Talk to you later.
Why Stabler wasn't falling for it, he didn't know. Maybe it was just something in his head.
—
Talking with the families is never easy. But it something Olivia is glad to do in such circumstances and, somehow, bring a sense of comfort, to be a source of strength for them. She understands.
- Velasco, we need to get all new missing's person report. Woman, same average age and restrict to brown hair and eyes for now. Two victims in almost three weeks. He is getting more violent. I don't think he will stop and as he kept them alive for a few days, we might have a chance to catch him before he kills again.
- I'm on it, Captain.
- Did we get anything from the families? -Amanda asked.
- Crystal was an Accountant and worked at Upper East Side and had an apartment on Long Island. Molly was a freelancer Photographer and lived on Staten Island. No partners, kids and they lived alone. -Velasco answered.
- Ok, none of those locations, except Crystal's house, are more than 30 min away from the park or from the Soho's building where the first victim was found. -Finn displayed the map on the monitor.
- You said Crystal was a photographer. What kind? - Velasco asked. Amanda was searching on the files and suddenly stopped.
- Nature pictures. New York parks and pictures from Morningside Park from three weeks ago.
- All right, first victim has been there and the second victim's body was found there. Beside the park, do we have something else that can connect them? - I asked to the squad. We need more.
- I will check with OC if they have anything. -Finn said it while picking his jacket.
- You drive. -I started to walk to the elevator.
—
- Srgt. Bell, Stabler.
- Captain, Srgt. Tutuola. We need to stop meeting like this. Any updates?
- Second victim used to go to the park to work. She was a photographer. Maybe Jet can find more information on social media. Both cellphones and computers are on the way. -I said.
- Guys! -Jet shouted.- We have something. You need to listen to this, it is a 911's call from 1h ago.
"911, what is your emergency?
Help! Please, help me!
Ma-am, can you tell me your name?
(Woman crying)
Alison, Alison Hays. He came from nowhere and through me at the trunk of the car! A black Toyota SUV.
Ok Alison, I want you to stay calm. We are tracking your phone right now. Are you hurt?
Please just send help. OMG, the car has stopped. I have to go.
Alison? Alison?!"
That hit hard. She was angry.
- Alisson's picture on the screen. -Jet announced.- Alisson Hays, 33yo, lives in Manhattan. Electric engineer works offshore.
- Brown hair, brown eyes. Pattern confirmed. -Finn said.
- Do we know from where she was taken? -Hope I don't sound as angry as I am right now.
- GPS was tracked from 110th between Morningside and Central Park, heading SW on Columbus Ave. Lost it after crossing Brooklin Bridge and moving forward to Red Hook. Searching for a Toyota black SUV. -Jet said while she was typing on the keyboard.
- We need to get back to precinct. Amanda may have found something. -I just started moving when he held my arm.
- Olivia, is everything ok?
- Yes. All good. Just busy. We gotta go.
- Can I call you later? -Elliot asked.
She just nodded and left. If before he wasn't sure that something is going on with her, now he knew.
