There's something for everyone in this story... EO, Rolivia and Rollisi.
Hope you enjoy!
"The bathrooms need some work." Olivia huffed out in a laugh as she got back to table. Sonny dug a small bottle of hand sanitizer out of his pocket and offered her some. "Thank you, Carisi." She replied warmly, as she rubbed her hands together.
If Olivia had been asked three years ago if she would ever be on a date with Elliot, let alone a double date, she would've drawn up the comital papers right there. But here they were. Olivia, Elliot, Amanda and Sonny occupying a tight booth in the back of their usual bar.
"Are those new jeans, Liv?" Amanda inquired, her eyes fixed on the article of clothing in question. She pulled her knee up to her chest where she sat sandwiched between her boyfriend and the wall.
The captain was was wearing a flowing white button down, half of it tucked into the front of the fitted denim. "They are. The ones I have were getting a little too baggy." She explained as she lifted up the tail of her shirt and tried to look behind her at the tag. "I think they're Levi's."
She turned her back to Elliot where he was sitting at the end of their side of the booth so he could read the tag. His eyes lingered a little longer than necessary. "You thought right." Elliot confirmed, patting his large mitt of a hand against her thigh as she leaned into him.
"You look great, Cap", Carisi complimented with platonic smile. "Must be a helluva runner if you can keep up with Rollins, she's brutal."
"Brutal is right but it's clearly what I needed." Olivia said, planting the hand that wasn't around Elliot against her now slimmer waist and popping a hip.
Eyeing her captain, Amanda took a healthy swig of her whiskey. "Please." She scoffed into her glass. "Every single version of Olivia Benson that I've known has been perfect."
"I can attest to that." Elliot agreed. The blonde acknowledged him with a quirked eyebrow as she clinked her glass against the neck of his beer bottle. The banter between her two best friends made a smile spread over Olivia's flushed face as she took a sip of her whiskey. Not her usual drink of choice but Amanda could be convincing.
Sucking her teeth against the sting of the alcohol, Rollins squinted one eye as she contemplated. "I think the Liv I first met takes the cake though. All eyeliner and leather. So angry. You had me in a chokehold." She blinked dreamily, alcohol and adoration clouding her slate blue eyes.
"And you, my Georgia Peach, were so eager to please." Olivia teased, reaching an arm past Carisi to affectionately swipe at Amanda's chin with her thumb.
Leaning into her best friend's touch, Amanda gave a little pout when she pulled away. "Still am, baby girl. Let me know if you need a reminder." She licked her lips, her eyes dropping down briefly. The tanned skin of her chest exposed by the curtain of her white button down drawing her attention like it always had. Elliot's eyes shifted in her periphery, intrigue pulling at his brow, not that that would stop Amanda's wandering gaze.
When her eyes found Olivia's face again, she found her bright brown eyes fixed on her, twinkling with challenge, with her tongue shoved in cheek. "I'll take Carisi's word for that." She retorted, tilting her head towards the counselor is question.
A crooked smirk spread across his face squinting his blue eyes even more. "Can confirm."
Scratching her nails through the silver hair at the back of his head, Amanda leaned up and pressed several pecks against his late day stubble. "I need a refill." Her smirking lips brushed against his jaw before she climbed over his lap to exit the booth.
Once her booted feet were firm on sticky floor, she turned to the brunette woman in front of her where she leaned into her boyfriend. Amanda touched a strand of her chestnut hair, savoring the softness as she rubbed it through her thumb and forefinger. "Your hair is getting long again too." She mused with a smile.
Moving her hand along the younger woman's shoulder until it came to rest of back of her neck, Olivia laughed and the decadent sound resonated in Amanda's chest. "I thought you and Amaro were going to start a support group when I chopped my hair off."
Leaning into the taller woman, Amanda let her hand slip around her waist and hold onto the belt loop at her back. "We met every Thursday." Amanda deadpanned as she looked at Elliot who huffed light laugh under his breath.
"Did you take the buzzer to your head again?" Elliot teased with a smirk, his blue eyes glimmering as he looked over at his girl.
Scoffing a laugh, she swatted at his solid chest. "You're acting like I went all GI Jane, it was a pixie cut."
"Wait", Amanda injected, a somewhat stunned look on her face as she reached a hand out to clasp Elliot's bulking shoulder. "Are you telling me I missed butch Benson?"
"Afraid so." He replied, his face lined with faux sympathy.
Letting her head fall back against her shoulder blades, she looked skyward and groaned. "Maybe it's for the best, I probably wouldn't have gotten any work done anyways."
Pulling her against her, Olivia placed a kiss into her blonde hair. "My biggest fan girl." She mused, her hand rubbing along the other woman's back.
Years ago, Amanda had told Olivia that she loved her and respected her more than anyone and that was obvious every time she looked her way.
"Come with me to the bar? Safety in numbers." Rollins asked her with a false vulnerability on her face.
Olivia's chuckle shook them both. "I doubt you need my help at all." She reassured, downing the rest of her drink in one gulp. "But I'd be glad to join."
Amanda threw Sonny a wink before the two women turned and made their away over to the bar. The men watched as their partners made their way across the crowded room, capturing the eye of almost everyone they passed. Men, women, didn't make a difference. "They really draw attention, huh?" Elliot thought out loud, nodding over to them.
"Yeah", Sonny huffed, his lips smirking around the mouth of his beer bottle. "The ironic thing is when they're together they only see each other."
The sound of Olivia's vibrant laugh cut through almost all the noise in the bar and sang in Elliot's ears. Amanda had her boot up on the foot rail and her boss stood in between her legs, so close that if they both took a deep breath their chest would brush. The blonde had her hand around Olivia's hip, her bright eyes keenly taking in the sight of her joyous laughter.
"They're close." The bald man spoke, it was half question and half statement.
Nodding, Sonny hummed into his beer bottle. "It took a while. Amanda doesn't trust easily. They're alike in that way. But once she lets you in, there is no one more devoted or loyal."
"Also like our captain." Elliot observed, watching as his girlfriend brush a blonde strand of hair behind the other woman's ear.
Physical touch was Olivia Benson's love language, especially when alcohol was involved. They turned as faced the bar as they ordered, her arm was hooked around Amanda's neck who had her head resting on her shoulder. "Those two and Fin really don't have family so they made one of their own. Amaro too, Liv's partner after you."
A jealousy rose in his chest but not the same kind that usually did. No, this came with the realization that someone had filled his place as her best friend. Her confidant, her safe space. He watched as Amanda whispered something in Olivia's ear that warranted a small chuckle and a knowing glance. And when the blonde's lips brushed along that jaw, the jaw he traced daily, the familiar jealousy began to lick at the back of his neck.
"They ever…?" He trailed off, his icy blue eyes shifting from the women at the bar to his booth mate.
Leaning back in the booth, Carisi took a breath and sucked his teeth as he thought. "I can't say with certainty but honestly I would be surprised if they haven't. They have this possessiveness between them, like they belong to each other."
The younger man spoke with a neutrality that surprised Elliot, especially when talking about a girlfriend's past lovers. He was envious of the natural confidence the ADA seemed to have his in relationship, it was the type of healthy relationship dynamic he aspired to. However it was clearly something he had to work on.
Carisi noticed a fleeting flicker of doubt in the older man's eyes along with the tightening of his jaw and quickly pivoted. "If anything did happen, it's completely over with now. Olivia wouldn't do anything to compromise the dynamic of the squad especially from a position of power."
Elliot nodded, not entirely convinced. He hated the insecurity he felt but he couldn't help but feel it. "Listen", Sonny began on a deep breath, his voice soft. "You know as well as I do that there is something about Olivia that attracts every type of person in different ways. For me, it was more of a mentorship. But with them", he paused regarding the love of his life and her best friend. "They found each other at really low points in both their lives. Liv was the first consistent person to show Amanda that she cared about her and believed in her. You can't blame her for the love she has for Olivia, regardless of the capacity."
"You know", Elliot replied after a moment, his voice rough. "You're wise beyond your years. At first, I thought it was just your hair."
There was a teasing glint in the older man's eyes. Despite his overall harshness, occasional glimpses deeper into his personality made it apparent why Olivia cared about him unconditionally.
Olivia and Amanda approaching, hand in hand, caught the men's attention. The blonde dragging her boss along, practically skipping with bliss caused by the whiskey and her favorite people. "Babe", she drawled as she practically crashed into Carisi where he was perched on the edge of the booth. "I need you to settle something for me and Liv."
"Alright", he agreed, an amused smirk playing on his face.
"I think the hottest one of us has even been while UC was when Liv played that madam for that super bowl party. But she thinks…", She trailed off, looking over at Olivia who slid into the booth next to Elliot.
Letting her hand fall to her boyfriend's thigh, she settled against him while she answered. "It was definitely Amanda going all book worm for Julius Adler."
It was a strange thing. Your girlfriend talking about finding another woman attractive while her fingers played against the inseam of your jeans like a piano. Warring emotions rumbled in Elliot's belly but the tightening in his pants told him which was winning.
"Don't think I could be objective here, sweethea't." The silver haired attorney huffed in a small laugh.
"But Dominick", she took his face between her hands, the tips of their noses touching. "Blue cheetah and leather pants." She then turned to look towards Elliot, knowing if anyone would agree with her it would be him. "Blue cheetah and leather pants." She reiterated, letting her tongue caress every syllable.
Turning his face into Olivia's neck, he repeated Rollins' words lowly, his breath brushing along her face. He had to swallow a groan when her hand moved to cup the tented front of his jeans.
Quickly moving her hand to cup his face, she turned back to the other couple. "Sorry, blondie, nothing beats you in glasses."
"There it is." Sonny agreed, giving his former boss a light fist bump.
Reaching out her free hand, she rubbed it down Amanda's arm before catching her hand. "Agree to disagree, babe."
After a moment of relished the feeling of Olivia's hand in hers, Amanda spoke. "What were you boys talking about?"
"The allure of Olivia Benson." Carisi answered without a beat. Honestly, Elliot was expecting him to tell a little white lie but the younger man's candor was just another surprising aspect of his relationship with his partner.
A bashful smile pulled at Olivia's lips as she knocked her shoulder against Elliot coyly. "Ah, yes, so much allure." She said in a light, self deprecating tone.
"Sorry, Liv, gotta side with the guys on this one." Amanda chimed in. "Hayden, Ellis, Cassidy, probably Amaro." She animatedly counted off on her fingers causing Elliot's eyebrows to raise as he looked over at his girlfriend. Carisi looked like he was trying to signal Amanda to stop but her blood alcohol level made her oblivious. "Barba, Langon, Tu-" She was cut off by Olivia grabbed her face in one hand, the pressure of her fingers causing the blonde's lips to pucker.
Leaning forward, she placed a quick peck on the other woman's mouth before breathing, "Enough." The lack of surprise on Amanda's face told Elliot that this probably wasn't the first time they had touched lips.
Amanda's steel blue eyes twinkled with delight as they darted around Olivia's face. "Yes, Ma'am." She appeased with a content smile on her face.
"I will literally see you in thirty six hours." Olivia managed to croak out despite the death grip Amanda's arms had around her neck.
The two couples were standing outside the bar, saying their goodbyes. Elliot and Sonny had already shared a good natured handshake and were now waiting for their girlfriends to part.
Olivia was slightly bent over, her arms around the shorter woman's waist as they swayed back and forth on the sidewalk. "I'm just gonna miss you." Rollins slurred into her brunette hair.
"I'll text you in the morning." Olivia's pacified with a kiss on the cheek as Amanda's arms loosened their grip. As they parted, the captain took the other woman's face in her hands and gave her a warm smile.
Sonny caught Amanda as she swayed back into him as Olivia's fell into the crook of Elliot's outstretched arm. "Get her home safe, Counselor." Olivia shouted back as each couple made their way down opposite sides of the block.
The captain and the detective fell in step as they made their way to their car. "So, you and Rollins huh?" Elliot inquired, breaking the comfortable silence.
"What did Carisi tell you?" She asked with a lighthearted laugh, the hand that was around his waist slipping into the back pocket of his jeans.
"Some insightful shit." He chuckled, his arm slung over her shoulder. "That kiss told me a lot more."
Lemme know what you think!
