Mall
Walking with Gwen hand in hand, we explored the mall the best that we could as it was one of the only times, we got to do something like this due to Gwen being at another school and me... I was usually helping Peter Parker, a friend who needed a friend with how he was treated. Reaching the food court, I saw a group from my school, the jocks and idiots of the school who thought that they were cool. Sitting by himself, was Peter Parker. Seeing one of them flick some fires at Peter, I turned to Gwen who sighed and nodded her head.
Kissing her on the cheek, I walked over to Kong, the biggest guy there, almost looking like the blob from the brotherhood. Kicking the back of his knee, he fell down onto it. Grabbing the lunch tray, I smacked him in the face, watching as he fell back with a bloody nose. Looking at the others, they quickly got up and made a run for it.
That was my role here in this school, the defender of Peter Parker, the man who has never lost a fight and always looked for one. Looking over at Peter, I saw his uncle Ben walking over to him. "Hey Peter." He called out as he placed his hand on his shoulder, with me walking over to Gwen.
"Guess we won't get to meet him this time." Gwen said as she watched the two talked for a bit and then MJ walked over to them to join in the conversation after Ben had called her over. "And that must be his crush." Gwen said as she crossed her arms, looking at them. "We make a better couple than they would." Gwen said, tossing her arm around my shoulders and pulling me in closer.
"Trust me, no one makes a better couple than us." I said, turning myself to face her, kissing her.
The next day, school
Seeing Peter get kicked from behind, sending him to the ground, I looked at the two responsible for it. "That is definitely worth ten points." Flash said, with me narrowing my eyes at him and made my way over to him.
"Ten? That was six tops." Kong said as he placed a hand on Flash's shoulder. Seeing Peter turn back with a pissed off expression, I kicked Kong in the back of the knee again, only this time, I kneed him in the face, breaking his nose this time. Flash made a run for it, with me grabbing him by the back of his shirt and slamming him into the ground, knocking him out.
"Jesus' man, cut them some slack." I heard, with me tilting my head up towards Harry Osborn, Peter Parkers best friend and the cool kid of the school. "Yes, they deserved it, but you always do this!" He said, looking down at the two before helping Peter to his feet.
"Is there something going on here? What is this mess?" The principle said as he rounded the corner and looked down at the two on the ground. "Damn it Dakota, this is the fourth time this month you beat these two up!" He said, with me spitting on Flash. "That is uncalled for!" He yelled, with me glaring at him.
"When will you get it through your head and defend Parker form these two? I wouldn't have to do this if you did your job!" I said, turning to face him, getting a sigh of annoyance.
"Parker, don't let those guys pick on you like that. OK? You come to me if that happens again." He told Parker as he walked past us, glaring at me. "You on the other hand, can go home for the day!" He told me, with me flipping him off and made my way out the door.
Later, home
Walking through the door, I closed it behind me. "You got sent home again?" I heard my father speak from the next room, with me looking towards the door and making my way towards him. Taking off my coat, and my shirt, I placed it on the door handle as I walked in. Stepping around the chair, my back to my father, facing a fireplace with a large picture of my mother above it, I got to my knees and held my arms out, lowering my head. "These punishments don't do either of us judgment! At least it brings me joy!" My father called out, followed by the whacking sound of a whip, and the burning sensation it left behind on my back. "Over and over again you do this!" He said, hitting me with each word with the whip, breaking the skin and letting the blood slip down my back. "I can't stand you; you were the one thing your mother loved more than me and look where it got here! Six feet under! You are a worthless piece of shit! If I wasnt a shield agent and could get away with murder, you would have joined her long ago!" My father yelled, hitting me with each word, and with each hit, I kept silent, being used to the pain for so long now, that I no longer felt any pain.
Once he stopped, I stood up, facing the picture. "Thank you, father, for disciplining me to be a better man." I said sarcastically, getting hit by the whip once more. Walking over to the exit, I grabbed my shirt and coat, slipping them on before going to bed for the day.
Later, Osborn Industries Inc.
"Welcome Children, since 1973, Osborn Industries Inc has been dedicated to providing innovative materials for manufacturing, construction, automotive, chemical processing and numerous other global industries. We are a leading global manufacturer." The tour guide lady said as we followed her, with me standing next to Peter, who looked extreamly happy to be here. I couldn't blame him either, it was his dream to be here, he loved this place.
Suddenly, Peter screamed, with everyone looking at him as he held his hand up. A spider had somehow made its way inside and bit him, and it was an unusual spider at that. The sudden jerk of his hand sent the spider at MJ. Acting fast, I took her notebook and smacked it towards the ground, where I stepped on it, twisting my foot to endure that it died.
"Peter!" I called out, grabbing him as he started spazzing out. He then turned to me, barfing all over my clothes. I didn't care about that, he needed help. Picking him up, I watched as some guards rushed over. "Hey, we got a spider bite, I need to get him some medical treatment!" I said, looking at the hand that was bleeding all over the place.
"Right this way! Everyone, go on about your day!" The guard said as I followed him with MJ, who chose to follow us.
Later
"We called your aunt. She'll be at school to get you by the time we get back." The teacher said as he sat in my seat to speak with Peter, who was sitting next to MJ. "Are you feeling better?" He asked, looking at the hand that was bandaged up.
"Yeah, I just - I think I just wigged out. That spider was Huge!" Peter said, with me thinking back to what kind of spider it was. It was Black and Yellow I believe. It wasnt a garden spider, but it was the same size as one. Nor was it a Banded Garden spider as it was more black than yellow. The Joro spider could be a possibility, but the color was off, the legs matched as well. Golden Weaving Spider would be too small to match.
'Honestly, most black and yellow spiders are too small to be the one that bit parker.' I thought as I remembered that it had two yellow circles on its body. 'Could a new spider be out and about?' I thought as I looked at Peter.
"Your aunt will take you to the hospital, so-"
"It's nothing to be embarrassed about, Peter. Could'a happen to anyone." MJ said, with me narrowing my eyes as something felt wrong about all of this, every last detail felt wrong.
The next day
Rounding the corner, I saw Kong going for another kick on Peter. Making my way over to him, I was stopped by the most shocking scene I had ever seen. Peter dodged, grabbed Kongs leg and flipped him in the span of a split second. Everyone was shocked. I was shocked! Walking over to them, I knelt down and held two fingers out to Kongs face, with him holding four up.
Standing up, I looked at Peter, with him falling over, where I reached over and caught his arm, stopping him from falling as I pulled him over to me. "Come on, back to the nurse's office with you! Probably the hospital as well." I said as I started walking away with Peter.
Later, hospital
Walking out of the bathroom, I looked to my right and saw a man with a black trench coat and no hair take a blood sample and leave another in its place. Frowning at this, I walked over to the sample and looked at it, seeing that it was Peters blood sample. 'So, I was right, the spider isn't normal.' I thought as I continued passed the dest and towards the man.
Later, Oscorp industries
Crawling in the vent, I stopped once I saw the man once more. "The OZ, it's killing him." Osborn said, making me frown at this news.
"How?" The blonde man asked, with Osborn turning to face him.
"Well, I don't know?!" Osborn yelled, making him flinch.
"They'll trace it back to the lab." The blonde man said as he crossed his arms. "Set the project back, maybe forever." He ordered, where Osborn nodded his head as he went back to looking at the blood sample on screen.
'This is my time to leave.' I thought, crawling through the vent to leave.
Later, home
Walking out of the kitchen, I placed a pot on the table. My father then stepped in, with me looking at him. "What is it tonight?" He asked as I took of the top of the pop.
"Beef stew, sir." I said, with him walking over and looking inside the pot.
Grabbing it, he tossed it across the room. "DOSE IT LOOK LIKE I WANT BEEF STEW!?" He yelled, where he grabbed me by the back of the head and pushed me into the table. "I wanted lasagna tonight, why don't you ever learn?!" He yelled, pushing against my head harder, my face pressed up against where the pot just was, burning slightly.
"Sorry sir, I will do better to read your thoughts!" I answered, getting kicked in the gut and pushed to the ground.
"You will do nothing! You will go to your room; I will order pizza! You worthless waist of space!" He ordered, where I stood up and walked away, getting a plate thrown at me, hitting me in the back.
The next day
Sitting on the side of the school roof, I watched as everyone entered, all but one person. Peter Parker, the dying kid, according to Osborn. Getting up, the bell rang, with me leaving the school to find Peter Parker.
Later, Parker house
Walking in, I saw that it was open. Making my way inside, I made my way towards the basement. Opening the door, I walked down the stairs and saw Peter looking at something on the computer. "So, you figured out that the spider wasnt normal?" I asked, with him jerking up and turning to face me. "Yeah, I thought so too, couldn't stop thinking about the thing." I said, sitting down on the table next to him.
"Dakota, what are you doing here?" Peter asked, with me pointing to his computer.
"I came to check up on you, see if you were alright. Seeing as you are, I have no need to be here anymore." I said as I turned around and left.
