Hey, thanks for checking out my story. I couldn't find many stories where Fugaku lived up to his potential, so I decided to throw one together. Updates will be sporadic because college go brrrr, but they will be coming out, I promise. And a stranger's word on the internet is SOLID, so believe it! Or something like that.
Alright, have fun.
The world was on fire.
Fugaku Uchiha sped across the rooftops, the air around him vibrating from the sheer power of the nine-tailed fox that was tearing the village apart. No one could match the power of the fox, they were lucky that the village was even remotely intact. But his Sharingan could stop it, control it, just like his ancestors.
Was Danzo trying to get the village destroyed? The elder ordered the Uchiha clan to form a perimeter around the village, far away from the Kyuubi. Fugaku would take whatever punishment came for ignoring orders, this was more important.
Fugaku's dyed red vision slowed the world down to a crawl, his enhanced vision making his pace seem sluggish, despite the strain he felt on his body as he pushed it to its limit, knowing that every second that he wasn't there, someone else would die.
If his Sharingan wasn't active, he probably would have died.
A blade of wind, only noticeable due to the chakra saturating the rapidly approaching projectile. Fugaku brought his hands together in a cross seal, and a clone poofed into existence above him. The clone kicked down onto the original's shoulder, pushing him down to the same rooftop as Danzo, below the projectile. His clone exploded in a puff of smoke as Fugaku touched down on the roof.
"You ignored orders, Uchiha. Go back with the rest of your people, or suffer the consequences." Several Anbu came out of the shadows, surrounding Fugaku.
"My Sharingan should be able to control the Kyuubi, I can stop it, let me through."
"I wonder what else you would do with the Kyuubi under your control. The world doesn't need the second coming of Madara."
Fugaku's gaze hardened at the man's words. "You've got it wrong, now move. Every second you waste here is more blood on your hands."
"I can live with that," Danzo calmly replied before snapping his fingers.
Fugaku immediately rushed Danzo, reaching him before any of the Anbu could even form a hand seal. His fist slammed into Danzo's left arm, throwing the elder back. Danzo grunted as he barely pushed the follow up strike to the side, but his one arm and aging body could only do so much before Fugaku's strikes began to find home.
A volley of water bullets soon tore through the roof, forcing Fugaku to disengage. A barrage of shuriken soon followed, as four Anbu closed in on Fugaku.
Fugaku easily deflected them all with a kunai before side stepping a stab. He grabbed the outstretched sword arm, and pulled. The Anbu in one direction, his kunai in the other. A trail of porcelain and blood followed the blade as Fugaku went to dismantle the other three Anbu with similar ease.
Before the bodies of the other three Anbu could fall, three water bullets tore through them, and the spot where Fugaku had stood. He was above the Anbu now, his right hand held in front of his mouth. The night was lit up as a fireball engulfed the building, and the Anbu beneath him.
He landed on a nearby rooftop, but immediately abandoned it as the building was torn apart by an eruption of wind. Fugaku dropped to the street below, and bolted towards Danzo.
Danzo took in a breath and spat at Fugaku, hurricane force winds compressed into a ball the size of his fist. Fugaku jumped over the blast of wind, the street below him shattering from the jutsu.
Danzo drew a shuriken, and blew on it, coating it in pale green chakra before launching it at Fugaku. It was too fast to dodge. So, the Uchiha had no choice but to take things up a notch. His sharingan spun, his eyes now looking similar to a three-sided shuriken. A blood-red ribcage surrounded Fugaku, and the shuriken deflected off of it, slicing through a city-block's worth of buildings.
The skeleton dissipated as Fugaku landed on the rooftop. He pushed off with more power than before, and slammed a kunai into Danzo's sternum before the man could take another breath. Danzo stumbled back, and to Fugaku's surprise, it was his right arm that touched the knife stuck in his body. A pale white arm with traces of foreign chakra.
"Damned Uchiha, why couldn't you just know your place," Danzo rasped as his robe fell off, giving Fugaku a better view of the man's right arm, and the numerous Sharingan that populated it.
"Bastard!" Fugaku's fist struck nothing as Danzo phased out of existence.
"Uchiha are too emotional, flying off the handle at the slightest provocation," Danzo chided as he circled Fugaku. "Someone more level headed would make much better use of your abilities."
Fugaku's left eye burned as he focused on Danzo. Black flames erupted from thin air as they engulfed the elder. He came back a second later.
"Okay, no more talking," Danzo said, punctuating his sentence with a bullet of wind.
Fugaku ducked the bullet, and closed the distance between them in an instant. Danzo wasn't fast enough, he wasn't strong enough, there was nothing he could do to stop Fugaku from killing him a third time.
Danzo was back a second later, a quarter mile away. Countless blades of wind tore through the space between them, reducing buildings to splinters. Fugaku swore, annoyed more by the wasted time than the barrage of hurricane force winds. He danced through the assault, keeping his eyes on Danzo as his hands blurred through hand seals.
A fireball that was already bigger than Fugaku grew to gargantuan size as it was fed by the winds of Danzo's jutsu. It shot forward, incinerating the ground itself as it closed in on Danzo. Under the cover of the fireball, Fugaku brought his hands into a cross seal again, and summoned three copies of himself. Their orders already in mind, Fugaku bolted in the direction of the Kyuubi, while his clones stayed behind to finish things.
As he closed in on the Kyuubi, a staff expanded across the entire length of the village, slamming into the Kyuubi's chest, and throwing it outside the bounds of the village. Fugaku launched himself towards the outstretched staff, and ran down its length, toward the Kyuubi.
Its maw opened, and the air around him shook as he felt a dull hum vibrate through his bones. Red and blue chakra began to fuse into an expanding black orb in front of its mouth. Fugaku's eyes spun as he focused on the Kyuubi's red pupils. Almost there!
"Kyuubi!" Fugaku launched himself towards the Kyuubi, focusing on its eyes as it finally took notice of him. "Stop!"
The Kyuubi's body immediately stiffened, and the ball of chakra dissipated. It remained docile, sitting on its haunches as its tails swished behind it. Fugaku landed beside the Kyuubi, the world around him spinning as the pain in his eyes and the memories of his three clones slammed into his brain, forcing him down to one knee. Danzo was dead.
He would deal with the consequences later, all that mattered was that the village was safe.
A blonde man in a white cloak landed by Fugaku, Minato, the fourth hokage. Despite the situation, he still wore the same calm, confident smile that he always had on.
"Thanks for stepping in Fugaku. I would have been here sooner, but something came up," Minato said as he glanced at Fugaku's left arm.
Fugaku scoffed as he pushed himself back to his feet. "If that something could slow you down, then it must have been something."
Minato politely chuckled at Fugaku's reply. "You look like you also had something come up. Will you be okay?"
"Yeah, something definitely did happen. Do you promise to hear me out before doing anything?"
Minato glanced up at the giant fox behind the Uchiha. "Of course."
"You know I wouldn't attack the village," Fugaku sighed. "The blood isn't mine. Danzo tried to stop me from shutting the Kyuubi down. I killed him and seven of his Anbu on the way here."
"Oh, is that all?"
"What?"
"You killed people that tried to stop you from saving the village. Why do you think you would be punished for that?" Minato looked at Fugaku with genuine confusion.
"But… he was an elder, Lord Third's friend."
"He's been getting more shady too, I probably would have killed him eventually. So, thanks for saving me the effort." Minato clapped Fugaku on the shoulder as if the man just did him a favor. "Now, time to put this thing back in my wife," Minato said before vanishing in a yellow flash.
What a monster. Fugaku glanced up at the docile force of nature, hoping that his genjutsu would hold true. I'm surrounded by them.
At least the threat was over.
