costume shop AU with Person A finding the perfect costume for everyone while Person B is hating working there

"Nightmare Before Christmas or Hocus Pocus?" Fred asked and Hermione just looked at him with a bored glare. "Come on! You have to choose one."

"I don't think I need to do anything," Hermione deadpanned, which made Fred smile at her. "Don't you have customers to attend or something?"

"Nope, I'm all yours!" Fred's smile widened and Hermione had to bite her lip not to smile at him. "Now…answer me which movie you prefer."

Hermione didn't know how she ended up working at 'Wicked Costumes', but it was a job and she wasn't going to complain—much. She never liked to dress up or wear costumes for Halloween, but the payment was good and her hours were reasonable.

The only downside of her working here was Fred. He was one of those people who loved to wear costumes, know about Halloween and Samhain and even the history of Salem and their trials—which was kinda weird, when they lived in London.

"Why do I have to choose one of them?" Hermione asked, before being interrupted by the tinkle of the bell, signaling a new customer. "Someone's here, and I think it's your turn."

Fred beamed and leaped from behind the counter, going into the direction of the customers. She didn't know how, but Fred had an uncanny power to find the perfect costume for every customer, while Hermione just tried not to roll her eyes.

"It looks like he's doing it again," Cedric, their co-worker, said from behind her. "I wish I could know his superpower."

"Yeah," Hermione replied, not taking her eyes from Fred.

He was a good looking guy, with his red hair and sparkly blue eyes and all the freckles on his face—not that Hermione spent any time staring at his face like a schoolgirl with a crush.

"And it looks like he has his superpower in getting dates, too," Cedric said, motioning with his head to the girl all over Fred. "Good job, Fred. Tell him I'll want details later, okay?"

Hermione didn't say anything, just nodded her head; her mind was too focused on Fred smiling at the girl. She wasn't jealous, she told herself, but she couldn't help but feel a little hurt over the easy smiles Fred was giving the girl.

It didn't take long for them to come to the counter, and taking a deep breath, Hermione put a smile on her face, not meeting Fred's eyes.

"Welcome to 'Wicked Costumes', I hope you found everything you were looking for," Hermione said, trying to be professional.

"Oh yeah, I found it and more," the girl replied, smirking and stealing a glance at Fred. "I think this has become my favourite shop."

Hermione took a breath, not wanting to lose a sale. She finished the transaction for the girl, before giving her bag to her. The whole time, the girl just stared dreamily at Fred, who seemed to not give a damn for her.

"We're glad," Hermione replied, almost between gritted teeth. "We hope you enjoy your costume, and we'll be here if needed."

"Thank you, I may be back sooner than expected." The girl slipped something in Fred's direction, before turning and walking away.

Not wanting to see his face, Hermione walked towards one of the racks, aimlessly looking through the costumes. She never heard Fred coming behind her, but she jumped a little when his hand appeared in front of her with a costume in his hand.

"I think you should get this one for our Halloween party," Fred said in a soft voice, before pushing into her hand. "You'll look great in it."

Hermione was holding a witch costume, one that she may be eyeing it too much for someone who said didn't like to dress up. Turning to look at Fred, Hermione was surprised to see him smiling softly at her.

"Thanks," she replied in a small voice. Hermione didn't know what she should say now, and she blurted the next sentence, "Are you going to ask that girl out?"

She flinched, not believing in what she just asked.

"I'm sorry! It's none of my business, you can do whatever you want with your life and—" a finger on top of her lips stopped her rumbling.

"I won't ask her out, she was just a flirty customer," Fred replied, lowering his hand. "Besides…you never answered my question."

Hermione looked at him, as if she couldn't remember what he was saying, when his earlier question came to her mind.

"I never watched any of them," she replied, looking embarrassed. She knew how much Fred loved Halloween.

"Great! Then this is going to be what we're going to do on our first date!" Fred beamed at her, and before she could say anything else, he quickly kissed her cheek. "I'll wait for you at the end of our shift and we can go watch them."

Fred walked away and Hermione couldn't believe what just happened. Chuckling to herself, she looked at the costume in her hand. Fred did it again, and this time, she had a feeling she was going to love Halloween.
