"Sunshine!" Eugene came running. "We got a problem. The banquet!"

"Banquet?" Her face lost its color. "Oh. Oh no."

"Exactly!"

"I forgot - What time is it?" Rapunzel asked in a panic. But before he could answer she realized it wouldn't matter. "I am never gonna make it," her voice gave out while her mind frantically searched for a solution to a problem impossible to solve.

Behind them, someone cleared his throat. "Your highness."

She spun around. Stiff and tall Nigel loomed over her.

"Anything wrong?" The royal adviser raised a brow.

"I," Under his strict gaze, she faltered. How could she have messed up so badly already? She'd promised her dad and failed. "The banquet," the princess stammered helplessly. "I -"

"We," Eugene jumped in and reached for her hand, reminding her that she was not alone. Never would be.

"I am here to inform you that the preparations are finished. The banquet starts at 8 p.m. Sharp. Also, I took the liberty to arrange the delivery of appropriate garments to your chambers."

The princess stared at the man in disbelief. "Nigel are you for real? You are a lifesaver!" She exclaimed exhilarated with gratitude. She had to hold back and not hug the man which most certainly would not be appreciated.

"It is my duty," he replied without batting an eye at her suspicious behavior before leaving.

"Well that was surprisingly anticlimactic," Eugene remarked.
