This was truly a horror event.

It was the last day of October again, and that meant Halloween. This festival was also held in the Green Hill Zone, which brought the children to the streets and strode from house to house dressed up, asking for candy of all sorts. This was the time of fright and horror, which was the fascinating thing about this day. Everywhere people were dressed like monsters, ghosts or other things and had been carrying on this tradition for many years.

Also a certain little rabbit with her faithful Chao friend.

However, it had not been a good day for her. Cream the Rabbit was old enough this year to go out alone with Cheese without her mother and grab some candy. The child was wearing a scary witch costume, while her flying companion was dressed as a black cat, and everything was going well, too, because they got lots of candies. But then things got bad. Three older children from the area met Cream, all of whom looked angrily at her bag of sugary treats. They forcibly took out the candy with their greedy hands, stuffed it into their bag, and shot the rabbit's bag out into the dark woods of the Green Hill Zone with a slingshot, causing Cream to quickly fly after them with her ears, while the three rowdies ran away laughing.

Now she was kneeling in front of her nearly empty pouch, eyes devastated, and her Chao friend sitting next to her in the middle of the woods for comfort. There was still time before it got very late, but alone Cream would never manage to renew her original stand of sweets. "They only left me three bars," she brushed her sleeve through her wet eyes before standing up, ready to go home defeated.

Before a branch cracked.

"...Hello...", Cream and Cheese slowly turned towards the source of the sound. Two yellow eyes came out of the shadows and the moonlight revealed the creepy figure. Two large horns on its head, a huge tail on its rear end, spikes on its shoulders and a turquoise ponytail for hair. The yellow eyes bore two magenta pupils that stared menacingly at the small child.

"T...This is Zavok...", Cream felt the fright coming up.

"Well, well, if it isn't one of Sonic's puny friends," the red Zeti approached Cream and slowly extended his claws.

"P...Please, I have enough bad luck already," the rabbit staggered backwards with her best Chao friend as the villain now knelt down and laughed in amusement, "Hahaha, if Sonic sees that I'm using this cute thing as a hostage, I'm going to surprise him and finally put defeat hi..."

Suddenly, his unseen nostrils detected a smell.

"Hmm...what is that...", the Zeti smelled the scent. It was sweet, full of sugar, and close by to boot. When he finally found the source, he reached into the pouch of the little bunny, who screeched briefly. After this, however, Cream curiously looked back at the rogue, who was carrying a candy bar in his paw and mused, "What is that? It smells...interesting."

"...It's a candy bar. You get them in Halloween when you ring doorbells from house to house in a costume," That's as far as Cream could explain to him, as Zavok stuffed the candy into his mouth without hesitation. He didn't even bother to open the wrapper and chewed on the chocolate.

"Mhm...MHM, THAT IS WONDERFUL!"

Cream and Cheese had to blink their eyes several times. The red colossus lay on his back and happily continued chewing on the bar before swallowing it and getting on all fours towards the child, "I WANT MORE! GIVE ME MORE, I NEED THIS STUFF!"

"I HAVE ONLY THESE TWO LEFT," the rabbit tore away from the paws and listened as the Zeti cried out in panic, almost like a child, "NO, I need more. This...food is wonderful, how do we get more?"

"Hm...", suddenly an idea came to the little one. It was daring, but it would kill two birds with one stone, so Cream now strode boldly towards the leader of the terrible six.

"Help me collect enough sweets for my bag again. So you get some too, but you have to do what I tell you," She tried to bargain with the red one, who just scratched his chin thoughtfully before breathing a defeated sigh, "Fine, but just today...and you tell me how to get more of those...things!"

"Deal," Cream and Cheese led the Zeti back through the woods, where the houses could already be seen a bit ahead of them, ready for a new candy train.

"...But first you need a costume!"

...A few moments later...

"Good thing they were still open," Cream's change was barely enough to buy Zavok a little something. Now the red one was walking around in a cape carrying a pumpkin basket for his coming loot, as he called the candy, "This is humiliating."

"But that's how you get your treats and now come on, that's where we strike first," the rabbit pointed to the house in front of them. The unusual trio strode up to the property in front of the door, whereupon Cream immediately pressed the doorbell, "And remember what to say!"

"Hello," a hedgehog lady opened the door before making acquaintance with Zavok's pumpkin basket.

"Hand over the loot, if your pathetic life means something to you!"

Silence had arrived, before the child next to the Zeti had to quickly save the situation, "Uhh...HE IS DRACULA! That's his number he always gives."

"...Ah, a real theater friend," the woman believed the argument before taking a closer look at the costumes, "Oh, your big friend and you look so cute in your costumes."

"I AM NOT CUTE," before the leader of the deadly six could continue the hedgehog lady pulled the candy out of the bowl and gave it to the two visitors. "Thank you, Happy Halloween," with that, the two warped off again and strode off to the next house.

"That was a successful move," Zavok pulled out a caramel candy that he took with relish before getting an admonishing look from the child, "I told you to call *trick or treat* not a threat!"

"OKAY, I'll remember that next time," the red one growled and looked around. He wanted to pick the right house, and already he had found the right one according to him, "We're going there next!"

"Oh no, the man there is a meanie, he never gives anything away..." but that was as far as Cream got. The red tail clutched the little girl tightly and Zavok was already almost running towards the house, where he almost gave the child a sick feeling.

Finally the two stood in front of the door and the red one operated the doorbell. The man who opened the door was a pig in an undershirt, looking annoyed at the dressed up trio. "Trick or treat," almost proud, Zavok stuck out his chest, having the words right spelled and waiting for the candy to fill his basket. "Argh," was all that could be heard from the man's growl, "I've told you brats SO many times: you get nothing from ME. Get out!" He slammed the door and was about to stride back to his couch in the living room.

Before a red fist slammed through the door.

The Zeti tore the wood with its paws, whereupon the man screamed in panic and fear before he could no longer feel his feet on the ground. The red one had grabbed him by the collar and his yellow eyes stared menacingly at the pig, "Listen! I said the words, put on a stupid costume and NOW I want my prey or I'll burn your house down!" He threw the man to the floor, who then quickly opened the closet in the hallway next to Him and threw out some bags.

"Here, take them all...and take my money, but please don't hurt me," Zavok didn't cared about the money. He took the sweet goods, gave some to Cream and strode back outside with her, however the rabbit cleared his throat against the red Zeti, who turned around again.

"Oh yes: thank you...remember, I know where you live!"

The end had already arrived. The first houses switched off the lights and the two candy hunters were also finished. The rest of the evening turned out surprisingly well. Cream hadn't guessed it, but it was fun to spend Halloween with the leader of the deadly six, even if one man had to fear for his life and his house, but otherwise no one was hurt. Even jokes were exchanged among the two, who were now walking down the sidewalk.

"Oh, I love this *Halloween*, as you call it," the red one looked at his full basket of sugary delights. Cream's bag was also full again and she was happy that she managed to get enough candy again, thanks to the villain's help.

"I have to go for little conquerors, excuse me," the red one quickly disappeared somewhere, leaving the little one behind, who waited patiently.

"Wait...does he want to pee in the bushes...", before the rabbit could finish expressing her thought Cheese drew her attention to three figures walking towards the two. And to her shock, it was the three older kids who stole her first loot. "Look, boys. The little bunny has brought us more," the rowdies grinned wickedly at the child, who frightened, took the bag and in a shaky voice tried to get the boys to move away from her, "Go away! They're mine!"

"I don't care. Come on boys, let's get the stuff," as the leader was about to make the first move he noticed how the other two remained frozen and didn't move, "What did..."

Now the leader also caught sight of the red colossus behind the rabbit.

"Well, well, well...they're trying to steal from you," Cream never thought she'd be glad to hear Zavok's voice as he strode toward the rowdies in front of him, who were forming fear sweats, "Oh, that's a full bag of candy in your hand." Without effort, the Zeti snatched the bag away from the boys who were also carrying the bunny's stolen treats and then his menacing voice set the tone again, "If I see you stealing that bunny's loot one more time..."

A long pause followed. Cream and Cheese also looked at the red one, before the boys in front of her wanted to speak again...

"...THEN I EAT YOU ALIVE!"

By this loud scream the rowdies ran away frightened and brought themselves in security. Zavok laughed in amusement as he completed his haunted prank, "HAHAHA, that's great on Halloween, too! And look at this: Now that's a worthy trophy for that victory!" He glanced at the boys' bag before his eye glanced at the somewhat sad rabbit from the angle. Probably she was still stricken that in there was her first stolen candy and now the Zeti wanted to claim for himself. Something stirred in the red at the sight, something strange he had never felt before. He looked all around to make sure his next action would not be glimpsed by anyone, when he was then sure.

"...Hey, little one!"

"Huh? What," unexpectedly Cream looked up at Zavok who was pulling on the collar of his cape, "My basket only has room for a handful of loot...so...you get the rest, okay?" He gave the rabbit the candy he was giving up and her mood was restored. Cheese was also very pleased with the offer, before watching as his best friend suddenly hugged the Zeti's leg, which also made him look up unexpectedly.

"Thank you, Zavok," he looked a bit disgusted at the little one, before letting her have her way and waiting for the rabbit to finish the hug.

Behind his red teeth, he even had to smile a little himself.

...Vanilla's house...

"Thanks again for bringing me home," and so the tour came to an end. Cream and Zavok stood in front of the rabbit's house again.

"I guess you'll be trying to destroy Mr. Sonic again next week," the kid then realized again, to which the red one knelt down to her, "Yes I will...BUT!" The word at the end now made Cream curious as the leader of the terrible six gathered himself again, "The loot won't last forever. Next year I'll be back for more, got it!"

The kid had to grin. I guess that was his way of saying that he'd like to take her with him again next Halloween, "Then you can wear a real costume, hihi. Bye, Zavok." She stuck out her palm to perform a high five, and the red one even performed it with a grin, "Bye, you puny creature!"

To hang out the bad guy again, Zavok said goodbye like this and strode off into the woods of Green Hill. He could be heard from far away gorging himself on candy, which made the little girl grin again. Cream and Cheese strode into the house, where they were already greeted by Vanilla again and the child immediately wanted to tell them about their move.

"Hey, Mom. Did you know that Zetis are totally into chocolate?"
