(Author's Note)

Since I'm taking a break working on one of my bigger fanfiction projects, since I kind of speed wrote it and now I'm tired... I have decided to make a small, little project involving a really good movie that's a bit of a sequel to the original Curious George movies;

"Curious George: Royal Monkey"

It's like "The Prince and The Pauper" by Mark Twain, except...with...monkeys, specifically Curious George and a royal monkey named Felipe. I've already watched this movie twice, and after writing this, I kind of want to re-watch it again.

(Don't mind me, just re-watching things more than once a year.)

I also wanted to note that George and Felipe aren't understood by Ted, Gustavo, Ana, Isabel, etc.
They can only understand each other, and anything they say to the human characters, come out in, uh, monkey. So, please keep that in-mind.

I may or may not make more chapters to this, but I ended it where it could be a single chapter just in case I decide not to add more. (I most likely will add more, but don't count on it...)

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this tiny fanfiction and please leave reviews if you have the time and you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.

Today was the day, and how Felipe knew, it was marked on the royal calendar.

He wasn't very happy to meet his cousin today. He had heard that George was a lot different than him, a lot more messy, chaotic... Not royal material at all, but he had to, as Gustavo and Ana had already set up the event for the two.

He had spent all of yesterday watching his various butlers (James and Jerry, Hans, Dickens... There was a many more, but we have no time to say them all.) pack his suitcases. Felipe blew a piece of fur out of his face; why did he feel like today would be the most annoying day of his life?

Felipe would have attempted to convince his family to let him stay home, but they were all kind of half an hour to New York by now and there wasn't really turning back now.

After frustratingly thinking about how his cousin would be like for, what Felipe could say was an hour; the royal family of Simiana, had arrived. "Finally." Felipe rolled his eyes.

James and Jerry opened the door for him and Felipe got out of the limousine. He looked up at the apartment, "Nothing like my castle." He muttered to himself.

And as Gustavo, Ana and Isabel headed to the door; he followed the twin butlers, James and Jerry, to the door as well. The apartment was a nice, cozy little place, Felipe had to admit, but it was still, nothing like his castle, and it bothered him that he'd have to be staying in a similar apartment across the city of New York until the vacation was over.

As Ana spoke with the doorman, who was a guy with a green-coat, tough-looking stature; Felipe looked around as he waited. The rugs were so plain and ugly, they didn't have any gold-lining designs on them or anything. And the walls, they were so simple and the people who painted the walls didn't seem to do a good job, in Felipe's opinion.

Felipe headed to the elevator when Isabel called, and up they went.

"Now, George. Your cousin Felipe is coming to see us, I need you to make sure you're ready." The man in the yellow hat, Ted Shackleford, looked at his monkey, who looked almost like Felipe. "Have you brushed your teeth?" He asked him.

George nodded, "Yep!"

Ted squinted his eyes, "Took a bath?"

George nodded again, "Mhm!"

Ted raised his brow, "Ate breakfast?"

George smiled and nodded yet again.

Ted unsquinted his eyes, still raising his brow; "Is the living room clean?"

George paused; he knew he forgot something.
He let out a noise that sounded a bit like a long, "Uhhhhhh..." and realized he hadn't cleaned up his mess from early when he was playing with his blocks. You see, he was trying to make a spaceship out of blocks, and then he knocked them down and decided to take a break.

He kind of forgot about the blocks until now.

"I didn't think so. Would you please clean the mess please? They'll be here very soon." Ted said.

George nodded and then ran into the living room to do so, even if he did forget about the blocks' existence until Ted said something. Just then, the doorbell rang and George basically forgot about the blocks again, getting excited that they were visiting.

Ted opened the door, "Ah! Gustavo... Hello." Ted bowed.
"Felipe." Ted looked at the royal monkey and bowed at him too.

Gustavo wore a small smile on his face, "Hello brother."
Ted and Gustavo were stepbrothers, and Ted was often awkward, unknowing what to say and how to spend time with him, while Gustavo, just treated him like he was his real brother. Oh how Ted wished he could have the same confidence as Gustavo did.

George ran up to Ted's side, putting his arms around his leg gently and he looked at Felipe; "Hi! I'm George!" He said with excitement. Felipe sighed, "I'm quite aware. I am Prince Felipe of the Kingdom of Simiana, and these are my human family; King Gustavo, Princess Isabel and Royal Advisor, Ana. Who is the yellow friend of yours?" Felipe looked up at Ted.

"He's the man in the yellow hat! He calls himself Ted Shackleford, but I just call him the man in the yellow hat, because he's a man in a yellow hat." George smiled brightly.

Felipe stared; Oh, great, he was an idiot.
His cousin had to be an idiot.

"I...see. Thank you for telling me about him, George." Felipe said awkwardly, but didn't lose his straight posture, his calm voice and his slanted eyes. (Though he did raise his brow slightly.)

"Hey, you want to go see my room? I've got paints!" George asked.
"I suppose." Felipe crossed his arms.

George ran off down the halls and Felipe quickly followed; "Hey, wait! Why are you so fast, slow down! There's no running in buildings!" Felipe gasped.

Ted laughed softly, "Ah... George is always so eager to show new friends around."
"I hope Felipe doesn't get too annoyed, since he's used to more, eh... calm areas." He added.

This got a snicker out of Gustavo.
"He'll be fine. It might do him some good to get around new things, after all, he is always staying inside the palace and hardly comes outside to do anything other than stare at others with a judgemental look." Gustavo winked...

"Ugh, what a mess." Felipe accidentally said out loud.
George wasn't listening though, "What?"

"Nothing, nothing. Carry on, my good friend." Felipe sat down.

George was making a mess with the paints, splattering it not only on the canvas, but the walls, and rugs, and floor, and himself too. He looked like a walking rainbow.

Felipe knew this wasn't going to work, they were nothing alike!

George liked making messes, Felipe liked keeping tidy.
George was excitable, while Felipe kept quiet.

"Want to try? I got more canvas." George asked Felipe.
Felipe quickly shook his head, "Oh no, never. I am not to get dirty with paints."

"Why? It's fun!" George pouted. "It's fun to get messy? Ha ha, I think not. Carry on, don't mind me." Felipe beckoned George to finish his...masterpiece. George shrugged and continued.

Felipe looked around the room. There was colorful plastic toys, and paints, and dolls, and magnets... All these things weren't in the castle. Felipe much preferred wooden toys in the shape of horses and nutcrackers, and buying paintings rather than actually paint them, and porcelain dolls that were not to be played with (but instead, displayed.), and he only used picture frames to display artwork he had received rather than use magnets.

Felipe did get interested in a toy car, because it had interesting colors that resembled the Simiana Monkey, a statue heirloom made of green crystal. Felipe rolled it around on the floor while waiting for George to finish his work at the canvas.

After a while of checking out George's toys, mainly the cars...
Felipe was starting to think about it some...

"Maybe this isn't so bad..."
