I don't own any of this Paranorman belongs to Laika, all other characters belong to their respectful companies. And The Stand belongs to Stephen King.

July 1

Dipper and Mabel had traveled a very good distance yesterday, after leaving Gravity Falls. During the walk Dipper realized that they could've used the golf cart to drive down the road they've been walking down. Dipper could've given himself a slap on the forehead for not thinking about that, but whatever was done is done.

When nightfall came; the twins had settled themselves underneath a large tree. Mabel had cuddled herself next to Waddles, while Dipper looked up at the stars as he used his backpack as a pillow.

Today the twins had traveled about ten miles down the road, they had a bean breakfast and drank some water after they woke up late in the morning. Now Mabel walked along with Waddles whistling a cheerful tune while looking around at the forest that stood proudly on both sides of the road.

Dipper meanwhile had a strange feeling that something is fallowing them, he had heard branches and sticks snapping several times, and he could've sworn that he caught site of something large ducking within the forest to his right.

"So Dipper. When's the next town going to come up?" Mabel asked.

Dipper thought about what he had saw on the map at the library. "If we keep up this pace, I say about thirty minutes."

"That's good, because I think that I gotta use the bathroom soon."

"If you do, you could just go in the woods." He pointed out, Mabel gasped in shock. "I can't do that!"

"Why not?"

"Cause I'm a civilized person." Mabel told her brother with a serious voice.

"Civilized?" Dipper exclaimed in confusion. "Two weeks ago you went wild over that overly, sugary cereal."

"You just don't understand." Mabel replied with a sly smile. Knowing that it was useless to argue, Dipper only shrugged. "Alright, but don't start crying to me when your bladder is about to explode." He warned her.

"Don't worry, you'll won't hear a peep out of me." She reassured.

"I'm going to explode!" Mabel cried as she struggles to keep her pee from coming out of her. She walked very slowly as she had her eyes closed and teeth gritting.

"I warned you Mabel." Is all that Dipper could say in a deadpanned tone.

"Oh Dipper! Are we at the town yet!" She cried out desperately, the pressure is really building up.

"Afraid not Mabel. We still got about ten minutes before arriving there." He informed her, Mabel can only groan for the pressure is about to burst through the dam.

With a sudden scream that made Waddles jump, Mabel ran into the forest on the left. For the next minute Dipper and Waddles stood on the road as they could hear Mabel moaning in relief, along with a steady sound of liquid hitting plants. Waddles leaned down and sniffed the ground, while Dipper just kept his back to where Mabel had went into.

Finally a much more relaxed Mabel came out. "That was so much better." She exclaimed in relief.

Dipper slowly turned to her. "Alright Mabel, you ready to-" Dipper cut himself off upon looking at her hands. "Um, Mabel?"

"Yes Dipper?" Mabel happily replied.

"What plants did you touch, when you entered the forest?" Dipper asked. Mabel thought as she wasn't really paying close attention as she was in a hurry. "I don't know, why do you want to know?" She now asked in return as she began to scratch both her hands.

"I think you came into contact with poison ivy." Dipper pointed out. Mabel looked to her hands that were burning red, she immediately began to panic. "Oh no! What am I going to do!" She exclaimed as she scratches her burning hands.

"Now calm down Mabel. We'll just get some cream to put on your hands when we get to the town." Dipper reassured his sister as she frantically scratched her hands. "Can we hurry! My hands are so itchy!"

The two continue onwards, Mabel continued to scratch her red hands while making all sorts of uncomfortable noises. After about ten minutes, the town finally appeared around the bend. "There it is!" Mabel yelled in relief while scratching both her hands more ferociously.

"Alright let's go find a pharmacy." Dipper stated.

The twins go into town, the town is empty and quiet safe for the chirping of birds. It looked like that all the people in this town had died in the comfort of their own homes. They walked through main street looking for a pharmacy, until at last they spot it nestled up in between a post office and a candy store.

Mabel with Waddles by her side rushes into the pharmacy with Dipper rushing to catch up. Inside Dipper watched his sister search frantically for the cream that would sooth her bad rash on her hands. "Where is it!"

Dipper searched more carefully and found it easily. "Here it is Mabel." His sister ran over to him with her hands stretched out. "Rub it on me! Hurry! My hands are on fire!"

"Alright just calm down Mabel, and just let me rub it on your hands."

Mabel does what her brother told her to do, she winced as the cream touched her burning skin, Dipper slowly rubs the cream on every inch of her hand and then stopped after a minute. "Alright all you need to do is keep that on for a day and your hands will be better soon."

Mabel smiled at him. "Thanks Dipper." She then thought of something. "So do we have to stay here for the day?"

"It looks like it."

"Alright that's not so bad, but what do we do now?"

Dipper thought about that, he soon remembers that there is a candy store next door.

"Dipper! Hit me with another Reese's!" Mabel shouted with chocolate all over her mouth and face.

"Coming right up!" Dipper throws a small Reese's cup into her mouth, Mabel raised her arms up in victory. "Perfect hit!" She exclaimed in-between chews.

Dipper grabbed some gumballs from the machine. "Hey Mabel watch this." Dipper began to juggle the gumballs with surprising talent, his sister cheered him on as she dug her face into some displayed chocolate.

The two then go into on what they can only describe as a crazy, candy eating montage; they blew bubbles with bubblegum, had a competition of who can eat the most Hershey's, popped MM's into their mouths, then to top it all off. They had a tug of war with red licorice.

After their candy eating montage much later when the sun is beginning to go down, the twins felt the consequences of eating too much candy, for the twins groaned in pain as their stomachs ached. "Oh Dipper! I don't feel so good." Mabel's face turns green, she burped up some stomach acid that filled her cheeks.

"I don't think I can move!" Dipper groaned as he laid on his back. The only one who is feeling alright is Waddles who is busy taking a nap. Some time later the twins passed out into a dreamless sleep.

As the first quarter moon shined down on the town, and as Dipper and Mabel were still passed out from their candy eating frenzy. Waddles slept peacefully, oinking a few times, but then he had awoken as his nose picked up on something, something very bad.

Waddles looked around, trying to figure out where the bad smell is coming from. He gets to his feet and fallowed the smell to the door. Looking outside Waddles at first couldn't see anything, but then a figure that looked like a large dog came into view.

Waddles watched the large dog move slowly as it sniffed the ground. The dog stopped and then got up on its hind legs, sniffing the air. It turns its head in the direction of the pharmacy, it gets back on all fours where it then slowly stalked towards the building.

Knowing that this large dog creature is dangerous, Waddles rushes over to Mabel and nudges her. "Oh Cal, I love it when you nudge me like that."

Waddles nudges her again which woke her up. "What's going on?" She looked to her beloved pig and softly smile. "Do you want to cuddle up next to me Waddles?"

Waddles only responds by squealing in urgency, this wakes up Dipper who groaned from his upset stomach. "What's going on?"

Mabel shrugged. "I don't know, but something has gotten Waddles upset."

"Does he have to go out?"

"No, that's a different set of squeals." Mabel pointed out.

"Alright, so what's he upset about?"

"Maybe he misses home." Mabel suggested.

Dipper opened his mouth to reply, only to go silent as he had noticed something large approaching the door of the candy store. "What's wrong Dipper?" Mabel asked him.

Dipper grabs her hand and dragged her behind the counter along with Waddles who scurried alongside them. Dipper motions for his sister to keep quiet before peeking around the corner of the counter to get a view of the door.

Dipper watched as a snout poked out from the bottom-left of the door, the snout sniffs the ground and then lifted up near the handle of the door. The snout moves forward revealing a dog-like face with a scar on the right side of its face.

Dipper quickly ducked away in terror, it couldn't be what he thought it was, but there's no mistaking that scar. The dogman that attacked him and Ford after they observed the Sasquatch community is here. What was it doing here? Is beyond his guess, but right now he needed to get himself along with his sister out of here.

"What's out there?" Mabel asked him.

"A dogman." Dipper answered in a whisper.

"A superhero who's dog theme?" Mabel question in confusion.

"No. Remember that creature I told you about, the one that attacked me and Ford." Dipper stated.

"You mean. That creature is out there?" She asked in fear, Dipper answers with a nod. "What's it doing here?"

"I don't know, but what I do know is that we need to get out of here."

"But aren't we safe here? I don't think it can get in." The sound of the door opening made her and Dipper go stiff.

The dogman pushed the door open with his body, slowly he entered the store. He stood on all fours, sniffing the air for the scent of the boy who injured him, but found it difficult as the scents from the candy blocked it. Slowly the dogman went over to the shelves of candy that weren't devoured by the twins, he sniffs some red candy in curiosity, then by using his paw he knocks the box down spilling the candy on the floor.

Dipper slightly peeked out from the counter, he watches as the dogman with his left side facing him, sniff the candy before he then slightly nudged it with his snout. The dogman poked out his tongue and licked the piece of candy, which the dogman immediately recoiled from the taste.

The dogman gets back up on his hind legs and sniffed the other candy. Dipper ducked back down, turned to his sister who held Waddles close to her, he motions her to be quiet and fallow him. Slowly the twins and Waddles crawled their way into the back area where boxes full of candy were stacked neatly.

Dipper could see the back door that lead into the alley. Getting up on their feet they slowly, but quickly head for the door. They burst out into the alley, Dipper quickly grabbed the door before it could slam shut, and slowly closed it. Mabel moved in the direction towards the front of the store, but Dipper stopped her and motions her to fallow him to the back of the building.

The twins and Waddles ran for several blocks until they stopped in front of a blue house, the twins panted from how far they had ran. Dipper glances back just in case that dogman is fallowing behind them, not seeing any sign of him Dipper sighed in relief. "Well we lost him Mabel."

"That's good."

"Yes, we should keep moving though. He could be tracking us right now." Dipper warned.

"Why is it even here in the first place?" Mabel question.

Dipper thinks, it's very unusual for a predator to be this far from its home territory. The image of that scar across the dogman's face suddenly came to Dipper's mind. "Oh no."

"What?" Mabel asked in concern.

"When that thing was chasing me and Ford, I gave it a scar across the right side of its face. I think it wants revenge on me." Dipper explained with a sound of fear in his voice.

"Why did you hurt it in the first place!" Mabel cried out.

"It was in self defense!" Dipper argued.

"Oh, this is bad! Scarface is fallowing us!" Mabel panicked, Dipper while scared himself managed to get a puzzled look. "Scarface?"

"He has a scar on his face, so it seems fitting that his name should be Scarface." Mabel explained.

Dipper continued to look at her in puzzlement. "Ok" He replied slowly, he then got serious. "Anyway let's get moving, I don't know how long he'll stay in that candy store."

Mabel nodded in understandment. "Lead the way Dipper." That's what he did, Dipper lead them out of the town, where they hoped that they put some distance between them and Scarface.

July 2

After traveling half of the night, Dipper and Mabel had reached another town that is five miles away from the previous town. The twins had fallen asleep on the porch of a white house, they attended to go further but their stomachs began to act up, which forced the two to stop and rest on the porch.

By late the next morning the twins felt better, but were also awoken by the sound of a motorbike. The twins were very surprised to hear such a sound, they honestly thought that they would never hear a motor ever again.

The twins sat up and leaned forward to see who's driving a motorbike? Was it a friend or foe? A motorbike soon appears with a boy wearing some sort of mask as the driver, and a girl with blue hair riding in the back with a black cat in her bag.

The two kids looked to be twelve years old just one year younger than them, they also seemed to very close friends, Mabel wondered if they were dating.

Waddles happily squeals and runs out towards them. "Waddles wait!" Mabel called out as she and Dipper ran after him.

The two kids on the bike were very surprised to see the twins, but even more surprised to see a pig racing at them. "Pork chop on our right Wybie!"

Wybie turned his bike quickly, the bike went onto the lawn which caused the bike to fall sideways and spilled its riders onto the grass. Waddles goes over to greet them, but got stopped by Mabel who held him in place while Dipper walked forward to the boy and girl with a sheepish smile.

"Sorry about that. My sister's pig just loves people."

The girl with blue hair gets to her feet, clearly annoyed from being knocked down from the bike. "You should keep that piece of bacon on a leash!"

"He just hasn't seen any people in a long time." Mabel called out in defense of her pig.

"Well your excited pig, nearly caused both of us to faceplant onto the road!" The girl snapped. The boy who Dipper caught his name as Wybie, pulled up his mask and approached the girl's side, placing his hands on her shoulders. "Come on Jonesy, I had plenty of time to get out the way."

The girl shook his hands off her shoulders and turned to him annoyed. "You kidding. You nearly crashed into that pork chop."

Wybie raised his hands up defensively. "Just calm down. After all these are the first living people we seen in awhile." The girl stared at him crossly, then let out a sigh of defeat. "Fine, but they better keep an eye on that pig if they know what's good for them."

Wybie gave her a small smile, then walked up to Dipper. "Hello, it's nice to see you."

"Likewise man, but probably could've gone in a better way." Dipper exclaimed as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Yeah" Wybie lightly chuckled. "That's some pig you got there." Mabel nods in glee while petting the back of Waddle's ear. "Waddles sure is! He's the cutest pig in the whole world!"

The blue hair girl raised her eyebrow up in question. "Waddles?" Mabel nods as she rubbed her cheek against her pig's cheek. "Yes, I won him at Grunkle Stan's fair."

"Grunkle?" The girl question.

"Great uncle." Dipper explained. "Anyway my name is Dipper Pines and this is my sister Mabel."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Wybie Lovat and this feisty friend of mine is Coraline Jones." Behind him Coraline chuckled sarcastically. "Very funny Wybie."

"Anyway was this your town?" Wybie asked.

"No, we're from California." Dipper answered.

"Wait your from California?" Coraline questioned. "Yes" Dipper answered.

"What are you doing here then?"

"Oh" Mabel began, "We were staying at our Grunkles place in Gravity Falls."

Coraline and Wybie had heard about that town and it's supposed strangeness that it is famous for. Wybie thought that it was just a tourist trap, but Coraline had always wanted to see the place as she wanted to see the monsters, ghosts, and other strange phenomenon that supposed to inhabit that town. "You been in that town?"

"Yeah, it was our second visit." Dipper replied.

The annoyance that Coraline felt towards the siblings is instantly forgotten, as she now approached Dipper with many questions in her head. "Did you see anything strange?"

"Believe me, we had a lot of encounters with all sorts of things that inhabit that town." Dipper told her, beside them Waddles who got out of Mabel's grip, went up to Cat who is bathing his paw. Waddles sniffed his back causing Cat to move away a few feet, which Waddles fallows much to his annoyance.

"So what did you see there?" Coraline asked with some excitement.

"Let's see gnomes, a pterodactyl that got loose from being trapped in amber in a cave full of trapped dinosaurs that are also trapped in amber. We also encountered ghosts, video game characters that came to live, a shape shifter, a printer that makes clones, crystals that either shrinks or grows you, all sorts of monsters, and golf ball people." Dipper explained. Each thing he listed caused Wybie to raise his eyes in stun as half of those things Dipper had listed were very alarming. Coraline meanwhile smiled wider and wider, she would've loved to see those things that this Dipper kid had saw.

"So we were going to spend another year there." Dipper continued only to be interrupted by his sister, who talked more sadly as she remembered why they were out here in the first place. "Then the flu hit and everything we know turned upside down."

"Hasn't it all." Coraline commented, remembering how the superflu turned her life upside down.

"So, you going back home to California?" Wybie question.

"No, it may sound weird. Though honestly me and Mabel are used to weirdness at this point. But we are heading to Nebraska to see a old woman that appears in our dreams." Dipper explained, he expected to receive a weird look from the two, but to his surprise the two looked utterly shocked.

"Did you say an old woman who lives in Nebraska?" Wybie asked.

"Yeah" Dipper replied slowly.

"Does she live in a house in the middle of a cornfield?" Coraline asked as well.

"Yes" Dipper replied. "Have you guys been having the same dream?" He now asked them in which they both nodded.

"What!" Mabel exclaimed in shock. "That's crazy! All of us having the same dream! We must be destin to meet, or become a team of dream protectors!" Wybie and Coraline looked to each other confused on what Mabel just said.

Coraline glances over to Dipper with question. "Is your sister always like this?"

"You have no idea." Dipper replied blankly.

"So" Wybie began, "All of us has been having the same dream about this old woman."

"Looks like it man, and from what I know in past experience it must mean something big." Dipper stated with a finger placed underneath his chin.

"But what?" Wybie asked.

"I don't know, but the answers must be with that woman." Dipper replied.

"Say" Mabel piped up. "Since we're going to the same place. We might as well join up with each other."

"What?" Dipper, Coraline, and Wybie said at the same time. Mabel looked at them with a grin. "Yeah! It would be nice to be traveling together as we go down to Nebraska."

"Mabel we don't even know these guys that well." Dipper protested.

"Agreed, how can you even suggest that?" Coraline added in a snark.

"Come on. We don't have to be alone in our own groups while traveling there." Mabel exclaimed.

"She does have a point." Wybie stated which made Coraline turn to him in astonishment. "You can't be serious. I mean have you seen these two." Coraline said as she pointed to the twins.

Dipper narrows his eyes as he didn't exactly like being insulted by this girl. "You didn't seem to mind us, when you were asking us about the strangeness of Gravity Falls."

Coraline turns back to regard him. "No offense kid, but you might cramp our style."

"Style? We're in the post-apocalyptic world, no one is going to care about any style." Dipper argued.

Mabel quickly steps in-between the two, preventing any fighting that the two might start with each other. "Guys come on! Surely we can tolerate each other while traveling together."

"I'm not so sure about that." Dipper exclaimed.

"Likewise." Coraline added.

"But the apocalypse is supposed to bring people together." Mabel grabs both Dipper and Coraline by the back, pulling the two of them together much to Coraline's and Dipper's discomfort.

"Your not going to let this go aren't you?" Coraline asked.

"Nope!" Mabel gleefully replied.

"Come on Jonesy, it wouldn't be bad to travel with these guys." Wybie stated.

Coraline looked to him and the twins for several glances, before finally letting out a groan. "Fine!" Mabel smiles brightly and hugged her brother and Coraline tightly, much to their displeasure. "Yay! We're going to be traveling buddies!"

"More like associates." Coraline corrected. "You can release me now." She told Mabel as the hyperactive girl still held her.

Mabel releases her and Dipper, Coraline stepped back out of her range just in case Mabel wanted another hug. "But if you're going to be traveling with us, you gotta keep a close eye on your pig." Coraline points over to Waddles who is licking Cat's back much to his displeasure.

Mabel gives Coraline a scouts salute. "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on him like a hawk."

"You better." Coraline now turned to Wybie who is getting his bike back up. "Now let's get out of here. We're burning daylight." Coraline gets back on the bike with Wybie who smiled apologetically to the twins, and Cat jumped back into the bag while being very glad to be away from Waddles.

Wybie and Coraline drove off down the street with Dipper and Mabel riding on Waddles beside them.

And that was how the twins met Coraline and Wybie.

July 4

Today is Independence day. A day for America to celebrate the day where they declared independence from the british, normally their would be parades, BBQs, and fireworks shooting up into the sky.

This year however, none of those things would happen. There wasn't going to be the scent of a barbecue or the sound of fireworks shooting out into the night sky with colorful explosions. But this didn't stop Neil who had awoken on that sunny morning, to get out of the tent he and Norman had gotten from a outdoors store, he stood from atop of the hill they settled in, and sung the National Anthem.

Aggie awoken to the sound of Neil singing, surprised from the unexpected singing the young ghost shook Norman. "Norman, wake up."

"Huh? What?" Norman groggly said as of being woken up so early. "What's going on?" He asked as he sat up in his sleeping bag.

"Neil's singing." Aggie replied.

Listening Norman heard that Aggie is telling the truth, Neil is indeed singing. The two looked out from the tent's entrance and watched Neil who had his back towards them sing out the last lyrics of The Star Spangled Banner.

They were both very surprised, especially Norman as he never knew that Neil could even sing like that. Neil eventually stopped singing, he looked on towards the horizon at the still rising sun. "You gotta a good singing voice Neil."

Neil looked back to his best friend who approached him, while Aggie floated over to his side with the look of astonish on her, as if seeing him in a new light.

Neil smiled sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head. "Thanks. I figured that since it's Independence Day. I might as well sing our National Anthem."

"Today is Independence day?" Norman stated in surprise.

Neil nods. "Did you forget?"

"Well with all the things that happened, I didn't think to keep track of the dates." Norman calmly explained.

"Oh right, sorry." Neil looked back towards the horizon.

Aggie meanwhile thinks about Independence Day. Since she died in the early seventeen hundreds, she never experienced the day America declared it's Independence or the revolutionary war. This is really her first Independence Day and while she isn't fully familiar of the traditions, Norman did explained to her about what the holiday is about a few weeks ago, way before any of this superflu even happened. To say that Aggie is surprised that America manage to break free from british rule is an understatement.

Neil continues to look over the horizon, from here he could see the roads stretch onwards through the state of New York. He found it hard to believe that after a couple days of leaving Blithe Hallow, they had crossed from Massachusetts and into New York. Neil is really glad that they had gotten some bikes at that outdoors store, or he would've have Norman dragged him across the state.

Breathing in some fresh air, Neil turned back to help Norman take down the tent and fold it into Norman's backpack. After they were done with that chore, the three traveled down the road; Neil and Norman traveled side by side on their bikes and Aggie flew in pace right in-between them.

They soon came to a stop near an apple orchard for breakfast. Neil steady himself on his feet as Norman sat on his shoulders plucking out two apples, Aggie helped by moving the branch closer to Norman's reach. "Thanks" Norman told her after he plucked out the apples, Aggie just smiled in response.

The two boys soon sat against the tree trunk, eating their apples slowly. Aggie meanwhile sat herself on the highest branch, she kicks her feet around while looking around the orchard.

From here she saw the other apple trees that had grown throughout the orchard, she also saw a blue house and red barn, and a red tractor that's parked in a field. It was definitely a lovely orchard, it was a real shame that nobody else would be picking out these tasty apples.

After their apple breakfast, they moved on for about a few good miles, until they had to stop as their path is blocked by a freight train that's parked on the railroad crossing.

Both Neil and Aggie gawked at the large vehicle while Norman looked down to the left, towards the front of the train as they needed to get around this thing and continue onwards. Norman was about to say something when the noise of a bike landing on the ground rang in his ears.

Looking over he sees that Neil and Aggie were gone. "Neil? Aggie?" Norman looks around, wondering where the two went? Looking forward he spots them at the side of the train.

Aggie and Neil looked up at the vehicle in awe, Aggie then went through the boxcar, while Neil just went straight towards the front.

Neil enthusiastically climbed up onto the platform of the train, he pushes open the door of the cab and is immediately met with the smell of death. Stepping inside, Neil found the body of the driver leaning down on the controls.

He couldn't help but cringe at sight of it, but nonetheless by ignoring the body Neil felt excited upon being inside a train cab. Now this was truly awesome, he looked over to Norman who just entered the train cab. "Isn't this awesome Norman! We're actually inside a train cab!"

Norman glances over to the body very silently, Neil fallowed Norman's gaze and stared at it for awhile before speaking up. "Ok not for everyone, but if you ignore the dead body then it still is kind of cool."

"Yeah" Norman slowly said. "Anyway we should keep moving Neil." He continued.

Neil however looked over the controls of the train, he pushes a button which blows the horn. Neil utterly jumped like a kid on Christmas morning upon hearing that horn. "Norman, we should take the train!" He exclaimed excitedly.

Norman looked at Neil in surprise bewilderment. "Neil, we can't drive a train."

"Why not?" He whined.

"We don't know how to drive a train." Norman pointed out.

"We can learn how." He enthusiastically argued, then proceeds to go around the cab trying to figure out how to start up the train.

Norman watched silently, he doubted that Neil would actually get this thing started. Besides they needed get going as he felt that time is short.

Neil then pushes a button at the back of the cab, the engine hums to live like a long dormant beast waking up. "Yes! I got it started!"

Neil then went over to the front controls, he moved the body out of the way with a disgusted look. When it was done he looked at the controls before spotting a clipboard, curiously he picked up the clipboard and read it, he then smiled and turned to Norman.

"Hey Norman, check out where this train was going!" Neil hands him the clipboard. Norman looked at it closely and is entirely surprised that this train went straight towards Iowa.

He couldn't believe his eyes, what are the chances that they would come across a train that goes towards Iowa, the nextdoor state to Nebraska? The odds of that is incredibly small, but yet here it was. Yet, despite this turn of events, Norman still thought that Neil wouldn't be able to make this train move.

Neil however continued to look at the controls, his eyes soon laid on a lever. Neil happily reached to the lever and pulled it, both boys were jerked backwards as the train began to move forward. After rebalancing himself, Neil looked out the front window smiling brightly as he watched the landscape began to slowly go past. "We're moving!" He exclaimed in excitement.

Norman meanwhile is completely stunned that Neil had managed to actually start up this train. Neil honked the horn and had to hold in his desire to start jumping in excitement as the train began to pick up speed.

The train speeds through the tracks in a steady pace; Neil stood in the cab happily with a conductors hat, (that he had found earlier), placed comfortably on his head, Norman stood in the first boxcar watching the landscape pass by, and Aggie sat on the roof of the engine enjoying the wind blow her hair backwards.

By nightfall; as the train moved down the line next to a field. Neil had moved from the cab to the boxcar, where he is fast asleep on his back, snoring loudly.

Norman however is wide awake as too many thoughts prevented him from sleeping. He sat at the open side of the boxcar, looking up at the stars and the bright moon that shined down on the dark country side, Norman began to think that with the electricity now gone, the moon and stars are now once again the nights only light source.

"Well this is an impressive vessel." He heard Aggie call out next to him, he looked over to his ghostly friend that sat next to him and is also looking out at the country night.

"Having trouble sleeping?" He asked her.

"Neil isn't exactly making it easy." Aggie points over to the sleeping boy who continued to snore, Norman softly chuckled. "I guess he's not."

The two go silent and just watched the passing outside world. Aggie takes a glance at her friend, she could easily tell that he is deep in his thoughts. "Everything alright?" She asked him.

"I'm just thinking about this whole thing. First a virus kills my family and everyone else in town, now I'm traveling across the country to see a woman that appears in my dreams. To tell you the truth, I've never thought that my life would lead up to this."

Aggie nodded in understandment. "I know what you mean. I never expected in my three hundred years of my afterlife, that I would be traveling through this country. If you hadn't broken the cycle, I expected that I would be asleep by this time or at the very least be at my tree lost in my anger with the town destroyed."

"I'm actually kind of glad that's not the case. Don't get me wrong, what happened to your family and everyone else is very horrible and I wished it didn't happen. But I'm traveling so far like all the heroes in the stories my mommy told me, plus I'm traveling inside this mighty vessel."

Norman looked to his friend thoughtfully, seeing her smile after telling her speech on traveling, made him slightly smile as at least she was happy. It also made him think of what would've happened if this sickness struck last year? Would Mr. Prenderghast still tell him to read from that book at her grave?

What would the zombies do when they came to town and found everyone dead? He guessed that Aggie would've got angry as her curse would have been useless, since there would've been no one to attack her accusers.

Norman is brought out of his thoughts as a cold hand rested on his. He looked down to her ghostly hand that's settled on his, then up to her smiling face. "I'm glad the flu didn't kill you or your friend. It would've been nice to teach you two on being ghosts, not to mention it would've been refreshing to finally have Neil see and hear me. But nonetheless I'm glad your both alive."

"Thanks Aggie. I appreciate you saying that, and I'm glad that you are here with us." He told her with his own smile.

The two smiled at each other, then turned to watch the passing night time countryside.
