Here's the second scene and this one will cover when Mary Jane attempted to kiss Peter to see if he truly didn't love her right before Doc Ock interrupted them. That almost kiss was also near cheating in my opinion since she was engaged to Jameson's son.

This scene will however go in a different direction in regards to how she tests Peter's true feelings.

Guest: Thanks for agreeing and definitely. And yeah I suppose so on that make out scene. For me personally but I think the inebriated issue is a bit more complicated though I will say that one should not put themselves in a position where they might potentially cheat and that includes inebriation. And all of that's very true on why she found herself drawn to the new resident hero. Anyway I hope you enjoy this chapter as well.

Cer1992: Thanks very much and neither do I since I ship her with that Peter. And fair enough on her character's wishy-washiness.

OmnilBIBUltraInstinctGodzilla: Thanks a lot and same here on not disliking her. And very well on her wishy-washiness. And alright on faithful M.J. being the best one and good point on that as well.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Raminiverse "Spider Man" trilogy, its characters, or dialogue.

Scene II-Almost Cheating Kiss At The Café Before Doc Ock Interrupts

Setting: New York

Location: Café

Peter and Mary Jane were currently seated across from each other inside of a café while the latter prepared to inform her friend that she returned her feelings. Before she could however, Peter interrupted her, the young man filled with self-doubts as to whether or not he could adequately protect her from the threats and dangers which would doubtless continue to manifest themselves and especially should he ever decide to reclaim his mantle.

"Listen. There's more for me to say," he began reluctantly and paused before continuing, inwardly hating every moment of this and aware that he would potentially be breaking her heart again yet feeling that this was for the best.

"I, maybe rushed into things. I thought…," he continued before M.J. quickly interrupted him.

"Wait a minute. What are you saying?" she questioned with a chuckle though she was puzzled and not quite understanding where he was going with this.

"I'm saying, I, uh, I thought I could be there for you Mary Jane. But I can't," he explained, pausing once more and taking a breath before braving himself to continue onwards.

"My mind, was playing tricks to," he added further and then looked upon his beloved's face which had now morphed into an expression of sadness, disappointment, and perhaps a hint of betrayal. This was not something she had expected and it had left her entirely floored. But doing her best to rein in her emotions she looked directly into his eyes.

"Do you love me, or not?" she questioned him further, insisting upon a definitive answer and her firm tone making it clear she wasn't letting him off of the hook until he provided one for her.

A long moment passed as Peter's mind warred with how he desired to answer vs how he felt he needed to respond.

"I," he began slowly while M.J gazed at him expectantly, desperately hoping to hear what they both knew he truly wanted to express. Yet when he finally spoke his next word shattered both of their hearts.

"Don't," he answered while shaking his head slightly though within he felt tremendous guilt as the woman he loved became emotional and bent her head downwards in sadness and frustration while doing her best to withhold the tears threatening to spill forth from her eyes.

"You don't," she repeated his words while he kept his head bended downwards and unable to look her in the eye, feeling ashamed. For her however but none of this made any sense considering his behavior around her presented the opposite and so the lingering question for her was why was he backtracking? Or better yet, why now?

Nevertheless she wasn't going to allow him to get away with this and her first inclination was to request that he kiss her. A way for her to test the veracity of his claim of not loving her while ascertaining for herself whether it was genuine. She promptly dismissed that line of thinking considering her fiancé John and who she currently hadn't broken up with. Therefore as such it would not be fair to him if she just went ahead and kissed Peter.

Therefore she settled on another option and setting it in motion stretched forth one of her hands across the table and lifting it upwards rested it against his chest and over his beating heart while using her other hand to grasp ahold of one of his hands and moved it until it rested upon her hand that was against his chest. Her hand over his heart, his hand over said hand of hers, and her other hand over that hand of his. Afterwards she stared deeply into his eyes.

"I want you to say it again Peter. Say again that you truly do not love me. If you say it again then we won't speak of it anymore but please look into my eyes and say you don't love me," she gently and emotionally implored him but with a determined expression.

Peter's heartbeat began to rapidly increase in response to her hand pressed against him while the rest of his body slightly shivered at the contact. To him it felt as if she was gazing into the depths of his very soul and in a way she was. He could feel his resolve faltering and was uncertain if he could continue to deny his feelings for her.

He also found he couldn't break away from her gaze and knew that he was on the verge of confessing the truth.

"I," he hesitated, almost ready to spill and on the verge of disregarding the potential consequences but before he could fully decide his spidey senses suddenly kicked in and acting quickly he leapt from his chair and grabbed ahold of the redhead before him before moving them out of the way as an incoming black vehicle was thrown into the window behind them with a resounding SMASH and the resulting impact caused its glass to shatter forwards and around them.

The perpetrator was the city's latest super menace Dr. Octopus, or Doc Ock, who would then strong arm, no pun intended, Peter into contacting Spider-Man not realizing the hero was actually standing right in front of him before the villain promptly kidnapped M.J. and carried her away to his lair despite her screams of protest. This action would be the final push that would cause Peter to resume his role as the city's hero as he took back his uniform and set off to rescue the woman he loved.

End Of Part II

A/N So what did you guys think of this latest installment and this alternate option of M.J.'s to test the veracity of Peter's supposedly non existent feelings?

I'd also like to say thank you so much for the favorites and follows from all who've done so.

On an unrelated subject I've rewritten and updated my profile page and I encourage you all to check it out if you want and please feel free to spread the word about it as well if you want.

The next chapter will be the concluding chapter of this 3 part arc.

Until next time have a great day.
