Mags blearily opened his eyes to his sun-bathed bedroom, and his eyes felt assaulted by the bright light, prompting him to pull up a hand to shield them for just a moment to at least help them adjust.

Or, at least, he tried to, because when he tries to reach up to his face, his hand doesn't move, realized he feels his arm feel trapped by something holding onto it.

"What the—?" He mutters as he looks down to see what was constraining him.

And, to his surprise, it was Julie. A naked Julie at that, her sleeping head laying on his chest as her arms and legs were wrapped around his body, lightly snoring away with her mouth agape, a steady stream of drool pouring onto his own body, forming a puddle of soaked fur on his chest.

Mags freezes at the sight, wondering one: why was she in his bed, and two: why was she naked?

But thanks to the surprising (and exhilarating) sight jolting his mind awake, the memories the night prior come flooding back in, when he and Julie were hanging out on one of their nights together as usual, talking and laughing, venting and listening, and just relaxing and having fun together. But then, up came the topic of their relationships—or rather, lack thereof—and how they eventually decided to… try one out together. A sort of 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine' sort of situation.

And then he remembered how they held hands, then kissed, then… Well… One thing led to another, and before he knew it, they ended up in bed together, just like right now.

He begins to softly smile as he looks down at Julie wrapping her body around his own in her sleep, snuggling him like he was just some kind of giant teddy bear. If said snuggling didn't lock his arms at his sides, he'd be sure to return the cuddles back.

But then, as he looks down at her, she snorts a bit in her sleep, and is able to feel her lightly tightening her grip onto him.

"No, the other gun…" She sleepily mumbles. "It's bigger…"

Mags rolls his eyes while huffing a laugh out of his nose. Of course she dreams about guns, too, the gun nut. Why wouldn't she?

He continues to lay there, slowly waking up while shamelessly enjoying how nice she felt, with her soft fur and warm body and comforting embrace (and indulging in the sight of her naked body as well).

But a few minutes later, he decides that it's about time he frees himself from her grip, to wake up properly, so he carefully tries wrenching an arm free from under her own.

But as he tries to pull it out, she actually grips onto him tighter.

"What the?" Mags mumbles, double-checking to see that yep, she was still fast asleep, and still drooling onto his soaked chest.

He pulls a little more, but then soon finds that the more he tries to wrench herself from her grasp, she simply wrenches onto him even tighter, now beginning a small tug-of-war as her body constricts him like some kind of snake.

"How the hell are you so strong when you sleep?" Mags asks in disbelief as he tries pulling harder.

"I'm not done with it…" She mumbles. "I wanna shoot it more…"

"I'm not a gun, Julie, calm down," He replies to her sleeping self. "I'm a person who needs to breathe! Come on, let go!"

Before long, he finds himself having to actually exert himself a surprising amount, groaning slightly as he pulls on his arm.

As he gives one last tug, he finally frees his arm out of her grip, but the amount of force it took to do so instead makes him smack himself in the face with his own hand.

"Ow!" He cries out in a mixture of pain and surprise.

While he lightly rubs his forehead from the impact, he hears another, louder snort, and looks down to see Julie finally wake up, her eyes barely opening as she picks her head up slightly.

"Whuzzup…?" She grumbles, glancing around, casually unwrapping an arm from around him to wipe away the drool on the side of her face.

However, as she looks over to Mags, she stops, simply staring at him confusedly for a second before her eyes quickly widen, eyebrows furrowed, coming to the same realization that Mags did when he woke up as well.

But as she snaps to his face, then to her naked body wrapped around his naked body, clear bewilderment painted across her features, her expression suddenly relaxes, the realization and memories of last night finally dawning onto her in a giant, enlightening wave, making Mags smirk in amusement.

She gives one more look between the both their bodies, and turns her head to finally return her gaze back to his while wearing a soft expression.

"So… Last night really happened, huh?" She asks with a nervous chuckle.

He huffs a small laugh through his nose. "Yep. It did."

"…Huh." She thoughtfully mutters, looking back down their naked bodies.

"Right?" He replies, still smirking.

"Well… If this means I'll get to wake up more often like this, then I don't mind." She says contentedly with a grin as she buries her face into his chest, renewing her firm grip onto him as she now consciously snuggles herself into him.

But as she places her head on his chest, she suddenly snaps it away as she feels how wet it was.

"Ew, why the hell is it wet? Is it—oh." She says dumbly, now realizing it was all of her drool.

"Yeah, I'd say I mind a tiny bit." Mags says amusedly. "That, but also—Seriously, do you know how goddamn strong you are when you sleep? I swear, it almost felt like you were suffocating me at one point."

"Hey, what can I say? I like to snuggle." She replies with a shrug, defending herself. "I normally have a pillow I use at home, but I didn't have a pillow. I had you. So, you were my designated snuggle buddy for the night." She says pointedly, wearing a smile.

"I…" He simply stares at her, not really sure how to rebuttal that, but more than that, simply disarmed by how innocently cute she was by saying that.

So, he instead sighs.

"Well, next time, could you at least leave an arm or two free? I just punched myself in the face just now trying to yank it away from you." He says with an unimpressed expression.

"Mmm… No promises." She says amusedly, once again snuggling into him—this time being mindful to not place her head onto her lake of drool, however. "Maybe you should try being not so snuggle-able next time, then. You're too warm and soft and nice." She says contentedly with a smile.

He raises an eyebrow. "And how am I supposed to do that, huh? Just… Shove you off the bed? Or shave off all the fur on my body?" He proposes, waving a free arm up and about.

"No, because if you did that, I'd have to break up with you. I can't be seen dating a wrinkly-looking rat, after all. I've got a reputation to uphold." She says haughtily, lifting her head up a bit to place a hand on her chest.

Mags smirks. "A reputation that involves being completely insane? I don't know, it sounds like dating a naked, pink rat would be right up your alley, then."

Julie frowns as he snickers. "Hey, screw you, is that a way to talk to your new girlfriend?"

"Given that's how I've always talked to her before she was my girlfriend, I'd say so, yeah." He replies smugly. "And if she didn't secretly like it, then I'm sure she wouldn't have agreed to date me in the first place last night, huh?"

Julie doesn't respond, instead continuing to frown at him while he maintains a smug smirk, with a silence between them growing as the seconds tick on, right before she scoffs, looking away to instead place her head back onto his chest with a pout.

"Shut up." She sulks.

Mags only chuckles in response as he takes an arm and wraps it around her, finally able to actually return her cuddles now that he was freed from her unconsciously constricting embrace, hugging her body to his own, and letting a more comfortable silence bask over them as they simply enjoy the other's presence and warmth.

But after a minute or two of their silence, punctuated by Mags lightly rubbing his hand up and down her back, and her rubbing his chest in long, slow strokes, she pauses, prompting Mags to look back down at her with some confusion.

"That… Still feels kinda weird to hear now, honestly." She says with a small, nervous chuckle. "That I'm your… You know, girlfriend."

"It's… Not a bad weird, is it?" He asks a little worriedly.

"No!" She quickly assures him. "Just… Weird weird, you know? Like, we've known each other for all these years and are best friends, but now we're… More than that. And I like it, don't get me wrong, I really like it. But… It doesn't really feel like we're any different than we were like, last week or something." She says with a shrug before coyly looking back up at him. "Does that make sense? I don't know if it makes sense."

He shakes his head. "No, I know exactly what you mean. And… Yeah, I'd say I agree, too." He assures her with a small smile.

"But isn't that… Weird?" She asks uncertainly. "Like, reacting to us being a couple now not by feeling like I'm over the moon or wanting to jump for joy, but instead just… 'oh, we're dating now, sweet'?"

Mags, looks up for a few moments, regarding her question before shaking his head, looking back down to her. "Not really. In fact, I think it's actually a good thing." He offers with a shrug.

She furrows her brows. "What makes you say that?"

"Well, I think people only get that kind of overjoyed feeling when they hook up with someone new, but we've both known each other for years, Julie. We know what makes each other tick, what we both like, what we both hate, and we have a lot in common, too. There's barely anything about each other we don't know." He says with a smile.

"Well… Okay, but how exactly does that play into you saying it's a good thing we don't feel exhilarated to dating each other?" She asks curiously.

"You said you dated before, right?"

"I—Erm, yeah?"

"And so did I. And did you feel 'exhilarated ' when you finally dated them?" He follows up, miming air quotes with a free hand.

"Yeah?" She responds bemusedly, wondering where he was going with this.

"Right. But didn't that feeling fade away after a while?"

"…Yeah?"

"So, dating them didn't feel as exciting as the first few days or weeks then, huh? Then what happened?"

"Okay, Mags, where the hell are you going with this, stop with the breadcrumbs and give me the whole loaf! Or… something!" She says, waving up a hand. "I don't know, you know what I mean!"

Mags scoffs, rolling his eyes before looking at her flatly. "Alright, what I'm trying to say in a way that I was trying to be interesting—"

"Or confusing." She corrects with a raised finger and a smirk.

"—Shut up—Is that when that excitement fades away, you don't have that novelty to float you through that relationship." He continues as Julie snickers to herself for her little jab. "So, when all their little flaws and nitpicks and stuff started showing up, you didn't have anything there to smooth them out, so then you get annoyed by them, and you eventually break up with them. It's how my couple of relationships burned out, after all, and probably yours too, right?" He asks, gesturing back to her.

"I… Guess that's how things shaked out, yeah." She agrees with a nod.

"Yeah. But with us," He says, gesturing between them, "We've known each other for so long that we already know all those nitpicks and flaws and stuff about the other person. Hell, you and I have fought so badly we don't talk to each other for a week, and we still like each other. So, the point is that I think it's a good thing that we don't feel that excitement at dating each other like other people do, because we just… don't need it. I wanna date you because I know what I'm getting into with you and all your flaws and imperfections, Julie, and I still know that I love you despite them." He states with a smile, hugging her tight in his arm once more.

"Basically, we don't feel the honeymoon phase because we've already skipped over it into knowing that we love each other no matter what. And I'm sure you feel the same way, right?"

Julie looks back at him with quiet surprise, that 'I love you' once again hitting her just as hard as the night prior when he said that to her. And just like last night, it makes her heart flutter, and puts a grin on her face as she hugs him tighter in return with a nod.

"Yeah. Even though you can be an annoying smartass sometimes and be dick about my flying skills… I still love you, Mags." She says contentedly, burying her face in his chest once more.

He chuckles. "Good to know. Thanks, Julie."

"No problem." She replies blissfully, until she then looks back up to him a few seconds later. "But… You know…" She says slowly.

He raises an eyebrow. "What?"

"Maybe I was a bit wrong in saying that I wasn't completely excited in us officially dating now." She says with a sly look.

"…Point being?" He follows up uncertainly.

"My point being this l'il 'point' down here." She says lasciviously, looking down their bodies to Mags' crotch, where she then looks back up to Mags, bouncing her eyebrows up and down with a knowing smile.

"Oh…" Mags replies in a low tone, beginning to smile as well as he tightens his arm around her, feeling a familiar stirring of his loins. "Well, in that case… I think I'd be eager to know just how exited you are."

And with that, Julie giggles as she then leans in, beginning to kiss him as she repositions herself on top of him, more than happy to indulge in his request.

"Oof!" Mags exclaims as Julie's panting self falls on top of his body, having just showed him her excitement to their newfound couple status.

"Sorry." She breathes, catching her breath as she turns her head next to his, giving him a pleasantly exhausted smile. "Just… Hell of an exercise." She says with a small chuckle.

He huffs a small laugh through his nose as he wraps an arm around her body laying on top of his. "You can say that again." He agrees, leaning forwards slightly to plant a small peck on her lips that she returns with a small giggle. "But this is exercise I can get behind."

"No kidding." She replies, now breathing more regularly, and beginning to enjoy the afterglow of their lovely morning activity. "I know I already said this, but seriously, you're good at that. Seems like I chose the perfect boyfriend." She says with a tender smile, resting a hand back onto his chest.

"Same with you, I don't think any of my other girlfriends were even half as good as you." He agrees amusedly with a small chuckle.

"Yay." Julie quietly mutters with a blissful smile, nuzzling her face into the warm crook of his neck. "Score one for me."

"Hopefully we can get you to score a lot more than just this once… If you catch my drift." He says with a smirk.

"I think I do." She replies knowingly, but making no effort to remove herself from the soft comfort of his body.

They continue to simply lay there together with Julie lazily flopped on top of Mags as he strokes her back, and her snuggling into him once more, each of them thinking how amazing it is that they're able to spend time with each other like this now.

However, after a few minutes, a wide grin begins to spread on Mags' face as he looks back down to Julie, prompting her to look back up at him as well.

"What is it?" She asks sweetly.

"Nothing. Just thinking about how it's only natural you say I'm good at this, is all."

She furrows her brows in confusion as she picks her head up a bit, tilting it slightly. "Huh? What do you mean?"

"Oh, you know…" He says, slowly rolling his eyes, "If I've made a living working with interdimensional portals ripping open the fabric of space-time, then it's only natural that I learn my way around a hole or two."

And as he begins to heartily laugh at his own joke, he is quickly silenced as Julie picks herself off of him to instead grab a pillow and smack him right in the face with it.

"Come on…" Julie mutters, sifting through the cupboards of Mags' kitchen in some random pajama pants he gave her, along with a t-shirt that draped over body not unlike a dress, with the sound of a shower running nearby down the hall.

"Let's see… Ah-ha! Yes!" She cries out in triumph, pulling a box of cinnamon-flavored cereal out of the cupboard with a fist pump. "I knew he had the good stuff!"

She then reaches into another cupboard, pulling out a bowl, then finding a spoon, and merrily begins preparing an excellent breakfast of sugary, cinnamon-y goodness to elevate this morning to an even better start than it already was, happily humming a small tune to herself.

But as she smacks her lips pouring milk into the bowl of cereal, she is yanked out of her pleasant daydreams of its imminent demise inside of her mouth as she hears a knocking on the door, prompting her to look back up to it in surprise, nearly dropping the jug of milk in process.

"Who the hell's trying to see him right now?" She asks, placing the milk down onto the counter, disappointed that her breakfast was going to have to wait.

She glances down the hall, still hearing Mags was in the shower to get cleaned up from this morning (and last night's) events, knowing that he was a bit too indisposed to answer the door right now. She'd ordinarily just ignore whoever was trying to visit, but as another series of knocks rap on the door, she realizes that's probably not an answer, and that whatever this was concerned his attention.

So, she just shrugs, and walks out of the kitchen to go answer it. "Eh, Mags won't mind, probably just a mailman with a package or something." She says, walking over to the door before placing a hand on the knob and turning it to reveal Kaden standing right there—whose eyes widen in surprise upon seeing who was answering.

"Wait, Julie?" He asks confusedly.

"Oh, hey, Kaden, what's up?" She greets casually, covering her mouth with her hand as she gives a small yawn.

"What are you doing here?" He asks, pointing at her with an odd look.

"Huh? Whaddya mean?" She responds, tilting her head.

"I mean, why are you here in Mags' home so early in the morning?" He clarifies, raising an eyebrow.

Julie freezes, suddenly realizing just how suspect it really was having her be here to answer Mags' door this early in the morning—too early to give the excuse that she just popped in for a friendly visit.

"O-Oh, uh… I… Just crashed here for the night, is all!" She explains with a nervous laugh. "Me and Mags were having one of our hangout nights, and we… Uh… Had a bit too much to drink, yeah! So, I couldn't get a ride home, he offered for me to stay here, you know how it is!" She says with a wide grin.

Kaden doesn't respond, instead looking up and down her body before pointing to her clothes. "Then… Why are you wearing Mags' clothes instead of yours?"

"Huh?" She says, glancing down at her outfit, completely forgetting that little tidbit, making her mind flounder for an excuse before it suddenly hits her.

"Oh! Yeah! That! I, uh… Just… Got so drunk that I just hurled all over myself! Yeah! And Mags just lended me some of his clothes so I can wash them!" She hastily explains, internally patting herself on the back for that awesome save.

"Damn, seriously? Just what the hell did I miss last night that got you that wasted?" Kaden asks with some amusement, giving Julie immense relief, thinking she successfully threw him off her trail.

"Oh, you missed a lot, trust me." She says, waving a hand with a small laugh of her own—partially because it was kinda funny that she wasn't exactly lying by saying that. "But, nothing that you need to worry about, I blacked out for most of it, anyway, so who cares. Anyway! What are you doing here, exactly?" She follows up, wanting to change the topic.

"Oh, yeah, right. Well, I just needed to stop by here so Mags can give me some of his notes from his last little expedition out in the multiverse, I need to double check some things." He explains casually with a shrug. "Basic Interdimensional Division stuff, probably boring as hell to you. Do you know if he left them by the door or something so I can just take it?"

"Oh, uh… Lemme see…" Julie muses, turning around, looking over the rest of the room, trying to look for a stack of papers or something that screamed 'boring interdimensional stuff' to her, which did ring a bell in her mind.

But luckily, it seemed like Kaden's intuition was correct, as she looks back into the kitchen, and sees one such pile of notes sitting on the kitchen counter—right next to her yet-to-be-eaten bowl of cereal.

"Ah-ha! There it is!" She says joyfully, walking over to them to pick it up, and after scanning through it, confirmed that they were in fact boring notes. "Here they are!"

She then proceeds to walk back to Kaden at the door, notes in hand, but notices that he wore an odd look on his face as he looked off to the side, eyebrows furrowed in slight confusion.

"Erm… Are these the notes, or…?" Julie offers, furrowing her own brows as she holds them up to him.

"Huh? Oh!" Kaden snaps out of whatever daze he was in, taking them out of her hands before quickly scanning through it, nodding his head. "Uh, yeah, they are, thanks." He says with a small smile and a nod, but still wearing that odd expression underneath it.

"Uh… Something up, Kaden?" She asks worriedly, scanning up and down his body, wondering if he was on the verge of some kind of medical emergency or something.

"I… Erm… Well… When you said you puked all over your clothes, that was just like… On the outside of your clothes, right?" He clarifies, raising an eyebrow. "So, you didn't, like, puke on your underwear, right?"

She blinks, not expecting that response.

"I… Uh… I guess?" She answers uncertainly, wondering where the hell this was coming from. "Why are you even asking, anyway?"

"Well… If you didn't puke on your underwear and you didn't need to wash them, then why in the hell is there a bra sitting on the floor in front of the couch over there?" He states dumbly, pointing past her.

Julie snaps her head around, following his finger, and her eyes widen as a cold feeling sinks into her gut as she sees that he was absolutely right, seeing that her bra was in fact sitting on the floor in front of the couch along with her discarded shirt, realizing in that moment that she and Mags were too caught up in their activity last night that they didn't think to pick it up when they scrambled to his bedroom.

"…Shit." She quietly mutters under her breath, hesitantly turning her head to look back to Kaden, who simply looked back at her with a neutral expression, nothing being said between the two.

But as the seconds tick on in their very tense silence, Julie's stunned face observes a small smile beginning to creep onto Kaden's lips as he crosses his arms, raising an eyebrow.

"You and Mags totally hooked—"

"ALRIGHTITWASNICESEEINGYOUKADENHOPEYOUHAVEFUNWITHTHOSENOTESBYE!" She yells out as she steps out of the doorway and slams the door closed in one deft movement, exhaling a deep, long sigh as she rests her head against the door—also being able to hear Kaden's muffled laughter from the other side as it fades away with him finally leaving, but not in time that she couldn't save her and Mags from all kinds of embarrassment.

"Great. Awesome." She mutters with a pouty look, glancing over to the living next to her and to the offending black undergarment indifferently sitting on the floor, taunting her.

With another sigh, she walks over to it and picks it up off the floor, looking at it in her hand with a scowl, wondering what it'd be like to live in the universe where she wasn't so horny that she didn't forget to pick up this damn thing and to save her the embarrassment of having Kaden figure out her and Mags' new couple status in perhaps the worst way possible—outside of having him walk in on them going at it himself, of course.

"Whatcha doing, Julie?" She hears Mags' voice call out, snapping her out of her thoughts to look over to him standing outside of the hall, wearing only pajama bottoms as his fur was all damp and fluffy from coming out of the shower.

But as the sight put some not unwelcome butterflies in her stomach seeing him like that, she freezes a little bit, where he then sees the object in her hands and points to it with a raised eyebrow.

"Erm… Why're you holding your bra?" He asks with some bewilderment.

She snaps out of her ogling of his post-shower body, those butterflies in her stomach being squashed with the memory of what happened just now, and she groans, haphazardly tossing the undergarment onto the couch next to her as she walks into the kitchen, Mags inspecting her curiously as she does so.

"Oh, you know, just wishing that I didn't even wear it when I came here last night. The usual." She replies sarcastically as she takes her bowl of cereal and takes it to the dining table, planting herself into a chair, and shoving a spoonful of the cinnamon-y goodness into her mouth, propping her cheek onto her hand as Mags looks to her with complete and utter confusion.

"I… Um… Okay, then?" He replies uncertainly, not sure what to make of her response before walking past her and delving into his cupboards to find his own breakfast. "Well, with that cryptic statement aside, I just wanna give you a heads up that Kaden's coming over in a bit to pick up some notes I—"

"OH, IS HE NOW?"
