Wynndy: Hey everyone! Please enjoy this one shot that just came to me one day (actually on 10/14). So I raced to get this done while the idea is still fresh. :)
Disclaimer: I do not own the Kamen Rider Revice (nor the Kamen Rider franchise). That belongs to their respective owners and associations. I am just a fan that had this story idea.
Continuity and Placement: The story takes places roughly 2 years* after the events of Kamen Rider Jeanne & Kamen Rider Aguilera with Girls Remix and the series finale.
*Note: Subject to change once Kamen Rider Geats x Kamen Rider Revice: Winter Movie 2022 and Revice Forward: Kamen Rider Live & Evil & Demons comes out.
The sun is shining down on a beautiful mid-Saturday afternoon. The ray of light pierced through the window of a small apartment, illuminating at a desk with an occupant. Casting onto her medical books. She placed her pencil down; she closed her eyes and stretched her arms high into the air. "Mmm~ ah!~"
She turned her attention to the other occupant of their apartment. A second young woman whom was reviewing her notes. The young woman was cooking, or at least attempting, a dish for them to eat. "Where did I go wrong?..." She seemed to be struggling.
The first young woman cracked a teasing smile at her. She found her companion's struggles to be cute. She let out a quiet, content breath of air. The young woman kept looking at her, there was a question on her mind. Rather, a discussion that was constantly being avoided or postponed by the second woman.
'Well better rip of that band-aid.' The young woman thought. "Have you-" She began to asked.
"Talked to her? No." The second young woman answered. The owner of said voice not bothering to turn around and look at her companion.
"I see..." The first voice purposely lingered her pause. The second young woman felt the long silence in the air; she was about to say something when, "you should talk to her Hana."
Hana sighed, "really?"
"How long has it been?" Sakura (the first young woman) asked her.
Hana didn't answer her at first.
"How long?" Sakura crossed her arms.
"For a while." Hana cleared her throat. She tried to ignored the stabbing stare that Sakura was giving her.
"How. Long." Sakura emphasized.
"Since the Black Satan incident..." Hana mumbled.
"WHAT? Hana! That's not healthy you know." Sakura stood up from her desk and walked over to her. "Come on talk to me, why are you delaying this?"
"I- I just don't know what to say to her." Hana looked down. "What if I say the wrong thing? What if she resents me and takes over me? She could hurt you!"
"She won't."
"And how would you know?!" Hana locked eyes with Sakura.
"Because she cares about me too." Sakura answered.
"Huh?" Hana tilted her head in disbelief.
Sakura took Hana's hands in her own. "Yeah, at first I couldn't believe it either. When we fought I felt our souls connect for a brief moment. I apologized to you but at the same time I saw her eyes. That jealousy, the same one she used to come out. She too wanted to be with someone; to escape her loneliness. She held the same isolation that you've had after being abandoned by Giff."
Hana was quiet, each word falling on her heart.
"Looking back at it now, there was no one better to get through to her than me. Somewhere deep inside of her heart, she gave me a chance to rescue you. Just like how you gave me a chance to save you. And now it is your turn to give her a chance to help each other." Sakura smiled.
Hana still had doubt in her. She turned to look away but in that moment a soft pair of lips kissed her cheek. Her face brighten. "H-h-hey!"
Sakura let out a small giggle at Hana's reaction. She walked away and grabbed her bag. "I gotta help out Ikki-nii at Happy Spa today."
Hana's face was still red, she puffed her cheeks at Sakura.
"I believe in Hana, both of you." Sakura left Hana encouraging words.
A few minutes have passed and Hana had been staring at the door Sakura was near. Hana stopped cooking, and walked around their apartment, coming to stop at her personal desk. On it where the Weekend Driver and Queen Bee Vistamp. Hana looked to her left at a mirror; her reflection stared back. Nothing out of the ordinary yet.
"You heard her right?" She asked her reflection.
There was no answer, of course what did she expect from it. She grabbed her Vistamp and clicked it.
"QUEEN BEE!"
Hana closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She stamped herself over her heart.
[Hana's Subconscious]
In an instant Hana found herself outside their apartment. She was by several trees and in front of her she saw a familiar stoned-pier pathway with white railing. "This is-" Before she finished her sentence there was someone else in front of her with the mysterious individual's back to Hana: another woman. She had long hair, a black flower decoration on the left side of her head and wearing a black dress. Hana knew whom this woman was. She approached her, while she was doing so, a fight scene appeared in front of the mysterious woman.
The Queen Bee Deadman and Kamen Rider Jeanne were locked in a fierce battle. Trading blows back and forth; sparks flew from both combatants. Eventually they reached the conclusion for a scythe's blade was resting along Queen Bee Deadman's waist, ready to bisect her. The two fighters were replaced with Aguilera and Sakura respectively.
"Sakura-chan... I loved you."
The scene paused.
Hana got closer to the mysterious woman. She stood side by side with her. Neither of them made eye contact.
"Why are you here?" She asked Hana.
"Because, I need to talk with you." Hana answered her.
"Oh just like that? You expect me to submit to your needs?" The woman laughed at her, facing Hana. The looked exactly the same as Hana, except with her long hair and wearing all black. This is Hana's inner demon counterpart: Devil Hana, "do tell me. Why now?"
"Does it really matter?" Hana replied.
"Typical." Devil Hana scoffed, she was about to leave.
Hana quickly reached out, her hand grasped Devil Hana's wrist. "Don't you turn your back on me!"
"Why shouldn't I?!" Devil Hana snapped back.
The animosity between the two Hana's was intense. No one was backing down, perhaps not any time soon- no, Hana release her hold on Devil Hana. Devil Hana returned her arm to her side.
"Leave me alone." Devil Hana said to her host. She sat down on the black stoned railing that surrounds the trees.
Hana's eyes widen due to Devil Hana's last statement. "I... have left you alone for a long time, haven't I?"
"Yes. You've done a good job of doing that already." Devil Hana's words were sharp and direct. No need to mince words.
Hana bit her lip, she winced at how straightforward her inner demon's verbal jab was. 'You were right Sakura. I did the same thing to her that Giff had done to me: I discarded her like trash.' "Do you hate me?"
"I... do."
Hana noticed her hesitation. Her hatred's well justified, so why was there no resolve to that hate. Hana could not feel pure hatred from Devil Hana. "Can I sit down?" She asked.
Devil Hana lightly snorted, "not like I can prevent you from doing so." She waved her hand, inviting her.
Hana sat down next to her. The scene that was played in front of them vanished. The two of them instantly transitioned themselves inside of a mansion. This place was when Sakura first saw Devil Hana and transformed into Kamen Rider Aguilera Dark. The place were they fought and held another important significance. Hana immediately knew the answer.
"Makes sense you chose this place." Hana began.
"..." Devil Hana remained silent.
"She certainly is someone special to me... and to you." Hana said.
A bubble appeared in front of them to play a certain image: Devil Hana and Sakura stood opposite of each other, their arms clashed with the other's arm, and their naked bodies obscured by a white mist with the exception of their bodies from the clavicle up.
"Yes she is." Devil Hana admitted.
"Sakura is kinda like her busybody brother, stubborn and hardheaded." Hana said.
"Ah yes, Kamen Rider Revi."
"Her empathic and headstrong nature sure did give us a new path in life." Hana looked at the Sakura's picture. "Without her, we might have been alone in the abyss."
Devil Hana made no comment but agreed with her host. "When she and I fought, a part of me feared the possibility of destroying her." She brought her arms to her chest. "Had I done so, I'd drown in the dark sea forever. For she'd-"
"Be gone from our lives." Hana finished her other half's sentence. "Our light in the dark."
Devil Hana nodded this time. There's the answer Hana's been searching for; the source of Devil Hana's alleged hatred... if it really was hatred.
'She really is my inner demon.' "Were you jealous?" Hana asked. "Of me?"
"Yes." Devil Hana said softly. "You would always be there for her, and her for you,... and I find myself unable to be there for her. I would be eventually forgotten, until the day I die."
Hana looked at Devil Hana, she understood the sorrow in her inner demon's heart. Devil Hana is lonely without her family, her loved ones.
"I am sorry." Hana stood in front of her.
"Huh?" Devil Hana stood up as well.
"Huh?!" Hana playfully mocked her, "I said I am sorry!"
"For-"
"For leaving you alone, for not considering your feelings, for not acknowledging that you are your own person too, and for not giving you the same chance that I was once given!" Hana embraced Devil Hana in a hug. "You deserve to be happy too. I am sorry other me!"
Devil Hana was speechless, never in the many years left in their lives would she imagined her host apologized to her. Devil Hana hadn't reciprocated the hug, however she felt something from that hug: warmth.
"Hana." Devil Hana had to ask again, "why are you here?"
"We- I- no-," Hana pondered the right words until she spoke from the bottom of her heart, "Honestly. Both we and I, couldn't live without you, I guess."
Devil Hana let those words sink in, her arms raised as she completed their hug. "Thank you."
Hana rubbed her back; she felt teardrops on her shoulder. "You once told me to be honest with ourselves. I promise we shall never let you feel lonely again." The teardrops kept falling. The two of them broke their hug. Devil Hana wiped a tear away with her middle and ringer fingers. Hana took Devil Hana's hands in her own, just as Sakura did with her. "Now let's go home, to those that treasure us, that treasure you. Together."
Devil Hana gave her a soft smile and nodded, "but on one condition."
Hana tilted her head.
"I'm cooking." Devil Hana smirked. "I can't risk having the woman we love die of food poisoning." She headed towards the mansion's double doors exit.
"HUH?! What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Hana glared at her angrily! "Oi! My cooking is not that bad! Don't walk away from me!" She chased after her.
The light engulfed the two Hana's, finally coming to terms and accepting one another. The last joyous sound heard throughout their realm. Devil Hana laughing happily.
Wynndy: Thank you for reading this one shot. :) These two are my current favorite pairing in Kamen Rider history, just beating out Shotaro/Tokime.
I would like to give a big shout out to fanfiction user, Spidey Viewer. Reading their stories about SakuraXHana inspired me to write a story of my own.
