Hey, guys! With Halloween on the way, I decided I should right a Rosario + Vampire story to celebrate! It's only fitting that this manga/anime all about vampires and monsters should get a story based around this spook-tacular event of the year! Hope you like this one I've made. :)
Disclaimer: I don't own Rosario + Vampire.
Boy, Tsukune thought nervously, it sure is creepy out here tonight.
A chilling breeze passed through the woods, covering the boy with goosebumps. A shiver ran down his spine as he listened to the creaking of the trees. He was in the forest on the outskirts of Yokai Academy. He had wanted to spend the evening away from the school filled with monsters. He was certain they would be up to mischief he didn't want to get caught up in - as tonight was Halloween.
Tsukune glanced over his shoulder in the direction he had come from. With all the bare trees of the woods surrounding him, the school was nowhere to be seen. He could only imagine what the other students were doing this evening. The young human wasn't keen to find out what real monsters got up to on Halloween. That was why he had chosen to go into the woods that night to not get caught up in their antics - as well as avoid getting pestered and stalked by Kurumu, Mizore and Yukari.
He was not alone in these spooky woods. There was indeed a monster out there with him. She was standing right by Tsukune's side - with her elegant beauty sparkling brightly in the dark atmosphere.
Tsukune closed his hand around Moka's. He was glad to have her with him that night. He was sure the gorgeous, innocent vampire not be scared of any creepy forest - like he was.
"You're not afraid of these woods?" he chuckled, turning slowly to face her. "Are you, Mok-uh?!"
Tsukune's eyes widened at pretty monster who was by his side in the dark forest. His mouth hung open at the sight of her.
Moka was looking terrified. The pink-haired vampire had a nervous look on her face. She was stiff as a board as she trembled before the human. The Rosario which hung from around her neck, concealing away her inner self, swung to and fro and she shook with fear.
Tsukune stared. He had never seen his girlfriend look so fretful. Concern for her instantly built up inside of him.
"What's wrong, Moka?"
"Oh, Tsukune!" Moka grabbed her boyfriend, clinging onto him for security. "I'm scared!"
"Scared?" Tsukune gazed down at her before letting off a dry chuckle. "Well it is Halloween tonight, Moka. We're supposed to be scared, aren't we?"
"You don't understand, Tsukune!" Moka's voice was filled with dread as she buried her sweet face into the boy's chest. "Halloween out here isn't like it is in your human world!"
Tsukune blinked. "It isn't?"
"No. You're not in your world where all the monsters you see are people in costumes!" Moka lifted her head from the human's chest, her teal eyes shining with terror as she peered up at him. "You're in the monster world now, Tsukune! All the monsters out here are real!"
Another icy breeze passed through the forest. Tsukune tensed up as he listened to the eerie creaks which came from the trees. He realised now that he was no safer in these woods than he was back at the school grounds. Monsters were everywhere out in this world. Who knew what they got up to on Halloween?"
"Aren't you afraid, Tsukune?" Moka asked timidly, holding onto him tighter. "'Cause I am!"
"You really are?" Tsukune murmured, the nervousness in his face starting to be replaced by confusion.
"Uh huh! I'm scared of facing monsters tonight on Halloween!"
"But, Moka, you don't have to be scared…" Tsukune let off a small laugh. "'Cause you're a monster too!"
Moka gazed directly at the love of her life. Her beautiful face was white with terror. It was clear to Tsukune that vampire or no vampire, she was most certainly afraid of facing monsters that night.
"It doesn't matter," she said meekly. "Even if I am a vampire, I don't wanna face any other monsters. You've seen what they're capable of back at the school, Tsukune. Who knows what we could face out in these woods?"
The words Moka had spoken in her timid tone made Tsukune understand. He knew all too well how dangerous and threatening the monsters in this world were. Moka was always rescuing him from coming to any harm from the many different beasts he encountered. She was always putting herself at risk against the dangerous creatures that attempted to attack him, transforming into her inner vampire to take them out.
Tsukune wrapped his arms securely around Moka. He could feel her trembling within his embrace. He looked down at her to take in how scared she was. She looked so innocent and vulnerable in his arms. It was hard to believe she held an alternate version inside her Rosario which, upon being released from her chest, made her so powerful and strong.
"Well, any monster that tries to come for you tonight will be making a big mistake, Moka!" Tsukune smiled assuringly. "They'll have to go through me first!"
Moka's mouth hung open at her boyfriend's words before she shook her head. "No, you don't have to do that, Tsukune. Just take off my Rosario if any monsters come our way. The other me will deal with them-"
"No!" Tsukune insisted stubbornly. "I've been depending on you and the other Moka far too long to deal with these monsters we've face. I'm not gonna stand by and let the two of you take them on tonight. If any monsters try to attack us this evening, Moka, it will my turn to protect you! I promise!"
A sweet smile found its way onto Moka's face. She was extremely moved and grateful for what Tsukune had assured her. It was always her who was protecting him from the monsters - and yet the human managed to make her feel safe.
"Oh, Tsukune!"
"Oh, Moka!"
The couple exchanged adoringly gazes as they proceeded to carry out their habit of saying each other's names.
"Oh, Tsukune!"
"Oh, Moka!"
Relishing being alone together in the woods, both the human and vampire moved slowly towards one another, preparing to share a passionate kiss.
"Oh, Tsukune!"
"Oh, Moka!"
The pair were about to bring their smiling lips into deep living contact - when a sudden rustling from nearby caused them to freeze.
Something was lurking in the bushes next to them.
"Ah!" Moka cried in alarm. "What's that?!"
Tsukune whipped around to face the bushes. He stood protectively in front of Moka. A frowned filled with intense determination crossed the young boy's face. There was no way he was going to go back on what he had promised her a moment ago. He was going to protect his vampire girlfriend from threatening monsters that evening, not the other way round.
"Who's there?!" he demanded. "I know you're there!"
The bush shook before the human. Its leaves rustled as whatever was hiding behind it remained concealed.
"Tsukune!" Moka murmured, placing a hand onto the boy's shoulder as she stood behind him. "I'm scared!"
Tsukune scowled as he spread his arms out to schedule the frightened vampire. "If you're here to attack Moka, you're gonna have to go through me first!"
The bush shook much harder. The noise of its leaves fiddling filled the entire forest. It was clear that whatever was hiding behind it was preparing to come out and reveal itself to the young couple.
"I'm not afraid of you!" Tsukune shouted. "Come on! Show yourself!"
That was when the creature in the bush made its move. It suddenly burst out of the bush as it flung out into view. It hurled itself towards Tsukune and Moka, bringing a high-pitched terrified scream out of the vampire.
"SURPRISE!" it screeched. "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!"
"EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK!"
The trees that filled the forest shook as every acre of the dark woodlands was filled by the terrified shriek Moka let off.
Tsukune gaze a started jump - then the look on his face faded when he saw with astonished eyes what had just leapt out onto the two of them.
He could see it wasn't scary at all. It was very small and harmless. In fact, it was something he easily recognised - and something which his vampire girlfriend should have to.
"Moka, calm down! There's no need for you to scream! It's just that bat who keeps showing up in every episode!"
Tsukune's attempts to quell Moka's terror fell on deaf ears. She continued fill the forest with the sound of her squealing, having been giving such a scare by the little bat who she and her friends frequently encountered.
"HELP ME, TSUKUNEEEEEEEEEE!" Moka cried as she threw her arms around her boyfriend - before suddenly sinking her sharp fangs into his neck.
Chomp!
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh…" Moka instantly relaxed as the sweet taste of her boyfriend's human blood filled her mouth and poured down her throat.
"ARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!" It was Tsukune's turn to scream as Moka drank his fluids out through the hole her fangs had made in his flesh.
All the Halloweens the young boy had experienced in his life, never had he thought he would spend this spooky event of the year with a real vampire…
…let alone spend it with one who would suck his blood!
Thanks for reading, guys! Have a great Halloween! And watch out for any pretty vampires who may want to spend it with you! They could be just after your blood! XD
Cheerio!
