"ᴅᴏ ᴡʜᴀᴛ, ʜᴜʜ?! ʟɪᴠᴇ ᴍʏ ʟɪꜰᴇ?"
A few weeks later, Taylor looked on sadly. There was a visitation period at Top Gun, and Carole had insisted Taylor go with her. Taylor held a small bump, being ten weeks. She was due her first ultrasound during their two weeks away, and thankfully, Goose pulled some strings to get her seen at the hospital on the navy strip.
But that wasn't for another few days.
As Taylor came out of the airport, having disappeared to pee (again), she saw Carole hugging Goose tightly. Her smile dropped upon seeing Pete playing with Bradley like he was his own. She wrapped her arms around herself and stayed to the side.
She didn't go unnoticed for long.
"Hey, Tay!" She plastered on a fake smile for Goose as she hugged him tightly. "Wow, you're getting big!" He exclaimed. She caught Pete watching her curiously. "Yeah... I'm nearly out of the first trimester. Only a week or two to go,"
Taylor encountered her first non-familial aviator later that night. Goose had insisted on them having a small meal in the bar known as the Hard Deck. Well... meal for Taylor, drinks for the others. She laughed alongside Carole as she catcalled Goose, who played great balls of fire. "I'm just gonna grab a lemonade. Do you want anything?" She asked. "Just a coke, Tay,"
Taylor made her order at the bar and waited patiently.
"You're too pretty to be from 'round here," Somebody said. Taylor raised an eyebrow as she turned. "Oh?" She looked the man up and down. "Who's girl are you?" He asked, ordering another round. Taylor made a face. "Oh," he chuckled. "My mistake," He thanked the bartender.
"So, why are you here then?" He continued. Taylor smiled. "Why the interest, Mr..." She took a sip of her lemonade. "Kazansky. Tom Kazansky," He held his hand out. Taylor looked at it before shaking it. "Well, Mr Kazansky, I'm here with my brother," She pointed.
Interestingly, his face changed into a small sneer. "Ah. Goose. You're a Bradshaw?" She nodded. "Yup. Why the face though? Goose is nice," She followed his gaze to the other person at the piano. "Ah. Nevermind."
He chuckled. "You know Maverick?"
"Maverick, no. Pete, yes." She took another sip of her drink. Tom scoffed lightly. "You don't sound fond," She wiggled her hand. Tom smirked as he looked over. Taylor followed his gaze, surprised to see the anger on Pete's face. "Not particularly," She answered, distracted. "May I ask why?" Tom asked. Taylor sighed lightly. "Just... stuff. I've known him for a while, so stuff." She smiled.
"Ice,"
She turned to face Pete, whose face hadn't changed much. "Maverick. You never told me about your pretty girl," Tom grinned. Taylor rolled her eyes as she picked up hers and Carole's drinks. "As I said earlier, Mr Kazansky, I'm nobody's girl," She cast a look over her shoulder as she left.
In the distance, she could hear Ice and Pete fighting.
The pub started getting too busy for her liking, so Taylor took a moment outside. She sat in one of the deckchairs, listening to the small radio on the table. She sighed, stroking her small bump. That... Ice man hadn't noticed, it would seem. What the hell she would do when her bump grew larger and larger until a baby arrived... Taylor wasn't a stickler for tradition, but she didn't have a choice.
Goose had said, to both her and Pete, that they would have to marry each other to avoid suspicion. Taylor didn't want to. But she had no choice.
Before her mind could wander further, she heard some rustling and whispering.
With a frown on her face, she followed the sound.
She covered her mouth with a sharp gasp.
There, on his bike, was Pete making out with another woman, a tall, blonde woman. Both stopped and turned in shock. Taylor stood, frozen. Pete's eyes darted back and forth. "Taylor-" She put her hand up. "Um, who is this?" The blonde asked.
"She's... uh..." Pete began, standing up. "The mother of his unborn baby," She spat. The blonde's eyes widened in shock. "Pete! You didn't tell me you had a wife!" The blonde snapped. "I don't!" He snapped back. Taylor met his glare with her own. "Taylor!" He yelled.
"I can't believe you'd do this to me!" She yelled back.
"Do what, huh!? Live my life!?" He shouted. "YES!" She screamed. She fisted her hair. "Why does my life have to stop!?" She hissed. She panted as she twisted away. "Taylor, or whatever your name is, I'm-I'm sorry." She turned to face the blonde. "I didn't know." Taylor waved her off. "It's fine. It's not you." She turned to glare at Pete.
"It's not like I'm his wife or anything,"
Taylor knew Goose knew something was wrong. "Not that I'm bothered, but why didn't you get Pete to take you? He isthe father," She looked away, still angry. "He was busy." She answered. She felt Goose's eyes on her. "You know, if he does anything that bothers you, you can tell me. Or anyone for that matter,"
Taylor fiddled with her ponytail. "I know. It's fine, I think he's stressed. It's all happened rather quickly," She smiled, hoping Goose would drop it. He eyed her again. "I know you're lying, or not telling the whole truth, but if you're sure,"
Taylor grinned at the screen. "And there, is the head." The nurse smiled. Goose dramatically wiped a tear from his eye. "I really wish we'd done this with Bradley." He said. Taylor's heart grew warm.
Who knew, two months ago, she didn't want the baby and hated it, but now... now she was full of so much love for it. Her little baby.
"So, what's this bit?" Goose asked, pointing. The nurse chuckled. "That's the baby's bottom," Goose quizzed the nurse about the body parts, while Taylor watched fondly. He was going to be an amazing uncle. "I'll get some pictures printed for you. You get one for free, otherwise, they're ten dollars,"
Taylor looked over at Goose. "I'll take two," She smiled, handing a twenty over. Goose frowned. "Who for?" He asked. Taylor pulled her hoodie back on and handed him a picture. "One for Pete, and the other is for you," She smiled.
