(Aboard the UNSC Marathon-class Heavy Cruiser 'ENDLESS HORIZONS')

"Marina, anything particularly interesting about this... floating island of a planet?"

Commander Sanders asked.

"Quite a few, Sir." Responded the ship's AI, Marina.

In a nearby AI holo-table, the bluish figure of a Japanese woman appears.

"First of all is, of course, the planet itself. It's like a giant floating island in the middle of space, instead of the typical spherical shape. I've never seen anything like it." Reported the AI. "Second, I'm detecting a weird energy reading all over the planet."

"What kind of energy?"

"Unknown, Sir, which is a big surprise. Then again, it's a completely new planet. Last, but not least, I'm detecting no signs of an advanced civilization. No spaceships, satellites or space stations. Forget space, there's also no signs radio signals or broadcasts. There's also no signs of smoke pollution caused by unnatural means, which, in turn, means no factories or mass-production facilities of any kind. Aside from the unidentified energy readings, there's also no signs of nuclear energy or anything remotely close to any kind of existing artificial energy forms usually found on our colonies."

"Which comes down to 2 possibilities: Either there's no humans or any sort of intelligent lifeform, or..." Concluded the Commander.

"If there is any, their technological/civilization level is pre-Industrial Era, most probably medieval, if you follow our civilization's history." Finished the AI.

"Around the Renaissance Era, then." Said the Commander, to which the hologram figure of the AI nodded.

"Well, we'll never know for sure unless we get down there." The Commander then turned to a man to his left. "Major Zhou. Send 3 Pelicans filled with Marines down to the surface for recon."

"Aye aye, Sir." The Asian man replied.

Just then...

"Sir!" The AI called out. "Radio signal detected!"

"Radio?! But I thought there was no radio signals of any form or kind down there."

"I don't know, sir. The signal just popped out of nowhere."

"Update the assigned recon squads. Tell them to locate the source of that signal."

(10 minutes later)

On one of the hangar bays of the Endless Horizons, 3 D77-TC drop-ships, more famously known as the Pelican, made it's way through the planet's atmosphere. As it made re-entry, the aircraft started shaking, albeit very slightly.

(Meanwhile)

It was a mid-afternoon. Subaru and Rem was making their way back to Arlam Village and Mathers Manor from the Capital, via the Leifor Highway. A merchant by the name of Otto had agreed to take them back to Mathers Territory.

Subaru was fiddling with his vintage flip-phone, scrolling through photos of him and his family.

Tears were about to start welling up in his eyes, when suddenly...

"By the Od, what are those?!" Cried Otto.

Subaru and Rem looked out of their carriage, and sure enough, three large bird-like figures were quickly descending toward the group.

Rem quickly readied herself in case of trouble, but as the bird-like figures got closer and closer, it became clear that they were mechanical in nature.

Subaru immediately recognized them.

"Pelicans... The UNSC... They're here?!"

As the 'metal birds' touched down in the grass near them, Subaru's curious was answered as soon as he set eyes on the emblem on their sides.

As soon as the 'Pelicans' landed, their backs opened up, and out came men clad in strange green armor and wielding weird-looking staves.

Subaru quickly ran to them. The men raised their 'staves' in alarm, but Subaru raised his flip-phone. The soldiers seemed to recognize the object he was holding, because they immediately lowered their 'staves'.

"Are you guys from Earth?! The UNSC?! Thank God you're here!"

(UNSC Marines POV)

"Are you guys from Earth?! The UNSC?! Thank God you're here!" The man spoke English in a clear Asian accent.

The man was clearly Asian, probably Japanese. He was wearing a black/yellow/white tracksuit and matching travel shoes.

Behind him stood a short blue-haired girl wearing a maid outfit, and a grey-haired man, probably in his early 20s, wearing green medieval-ish clothes. The two clearly did not recognize the Marines, or had any idea what was going on.

Unlike the Asian man in front of them.

"Hi, I am 1st Lieutenant Ivan Petrov, UNSC Marine Corps. I am leading this recon team." The leading CO of the Recon squad stood forward. "And you are?"

"Natsuki Subaru. I live in Earth, in the country of Japan. He then gestured to the two people behind him. "This gorgeous girl behind me is Rem. And this one is Otto Suwen."

"May I ask how you ended up here?" Asked Lieutenant Ivan.

"Actually, it's a bit of a long story. I believe I'm going to have to talk to your Commander."

(Back on the Horizons)

Unbeknownst to Subaru, one of the Marines had a camera attached to his helmet, and it was directly connected to the bridge of the Horizons, where Commander Sanders was watching the whole conversation.

As soon as he heard Subaru's request to talk to him, Commander Sanders immediately complied.

"Permission granted." He said through the radio. "We'll talk here on the ship."

(Back on the ground)

"Roger that." Lieutenant Ivan replied. He then turned to Subaru. "Come with us. We're going back to our ship."

"Can this young lady come with us?" Subaru asked. "She's pretty much my caretaker."

"Uh... Sure, I guess."

"C'mon, Rem." Subaru said, grabbing Rem's wrist.

"But Subaru, wait!" Rem exclaimed. "Who are these people, and how do you know them?"

"Trust me, Rem. I know these guys. They're trustworthy. Don't worry. I'll explain everything."

Rem then complied, although reluctantly.

"And you Otto, you can keep all our money inside the carriage. Thanks for the ride."

Before Otto could ask what was going on, the Pelican was slowly lifting off the ground. After a few more seconds, it flew to the sky, slowly at first, then accelerating to high speeds.

A few minutes later, Subaru felt the Pelican land. The back ramp lowered, then he and Rem were escorted out.

As soon as the 2 stepped outside, they were taken over by 2 different emotions.

As for Subaru, it was nostalgia. It's been so long since he last step foot inside a spaceship.

As for Rem, it was of utter shock and wonder. All around her were men and women dressed in strange clothes, tending to strange-looking machines similar to the one they rode just now.

She took one good look around her, and she realized something.

"The entire place...the floor...the walls... the ceilings... It's all made of steel."

The two were soon guided into a vehicle, an M831 Troop Transport Warthog. They were then taken deeper into the ship, boarded to an elevator, then walked towards the ship's bridge.

As soon as Rem stepped into the bridge, he was, once again, overtaken by surprise. There, just outside the window, was a view of her home-world.

A view of her home-world from space, that is.

She could see the entire span of the planet up here. The continent, the sea, the Great Waterfall.

And it was a most memorable sight indeed.

She was interrupted from her sightseeing when a man, in his late 30s, appeared in front of them.

The man spoke to Subaru.

"Hi. I am William Sanders, Commander of this UNSC ship, the Endless Horizons."

"I'm Natsuki Subaru, and this is Rem, my caretaker."

They then sat down a pair of chairs near the bridge's main holo-table.

"Now, son. Mind telling me how you, a citizen of the UEG, of Earth, ended up on this planet?"

Subaru then explained everything that's happened so far, excluding the 'loops', of course.

He then told everything he knew about this world. The four Great Nations, the the people and, in this case, the demi-humans, Lugunica, the five Royal Candidates for the throne.

Little did they know, this talk would signify the beginning of the meeting of two different civilizations... And this meeting would have an impact for the two sides.

The question is, how big of an impact?
