Big Potatoes
"I don't believe you need to be told this, Mulder, but you're not a loser," she had said.
"Yeah , but I'm no Eddie Van Blundht."

When "Mulder" had been about a half of an inch away from her lips, Special Agent Scully had seen him in a whole new light.
She saw now that that light had been a false one. Mulder was not Mulder, but Eddie Van Blundht, Jr. How close she had come
to making a big mistake. But she had to think. When she had thought Van Blundht was Mulder, she had been more than willing
to kiss him and... perhaps more. But when he had burst through that door, and she realized that Mulder was not Mulder, she
had been repelled.
But what if?

When Scully got home a few days later, she was just getting relaxed when the phone rang.
"Hey, Scully."
"Mulder, what's up?" She did her best not to sound wary.
"I uh...I just wanted to make sure you were okay. Do you want to come over? We can have pizza. I got this great movie."
"I don't know, Mulder. It's kinda late."
"Oh, come on. Please???" She could picture the look on his face. Scully sighed.
"Alright, Mulder. I'll be there shortly."
"Yes! See ya soon."
Scully sighed again. She always gave in to him. Why was that? Maybe it was that look. The puppy-dog,Scully-you're-my-only-
friend-in-the-world look.
Hmmmm. She was going to have to work on her defenses.

When she knocked on the door, Mulder had to restrain his happiness. They had some serious issues to discuss. He shuddered to
think what might have happened if he hadn't come through that door when he had. Timing really was everything. He answered the
door.
"Hey Scully."
"Hi, Mulder. This movie had better be good."
"Actually, I wanted to talk to you. We never got to talk about what happened. That guy, Van Blundht, did he hurt you?"
"No, Mulder. He impersonated you and I fell for it. End of story!"
"Okay. But I want you to know, anyone would have made the same mistake."
"I'm sorry Mulder. To be honest, the more I think about it, the more I realize he acted much differently than you do. I hope
you aren't mad that I couldn't tell you both apart."
"Are you kidding? Of course I'm not mad at you." He took her into his arms. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Really, I'm fine. You shouldn't worry so much. Now, how about this movie?"

Mulder looked over at Scully who was sleeping on his shoulder. She looked so peaceful. He wished they could stay like this
forever. But unfortunately, she chose that moment to wake up.
"Mulder, what time is it?"
"Uhh...its uh-uh 1:35."
"Oh my gosh, I should be going. I didn't mean to fall asleep."
"You sure? You could sleep here."
"No, I need to go."
"Okay." They walked to the door together. He looked crestfallen. She smiled at him.
"Good night, Mulder." Both felt the tension building between them. Mulder stared deep into her vividly blue eyes. Scully
surprised him by leaning up towards him. He could fell her breath on his lips.
"You know," she whispered seductively. "I think what we have here is more than small potatoes." Their lips touched and Scully
felt the shock sweep through her. She held on to Mulder. He had to catch his breath.
"And what is that?"
He initiated the kiss this time. By the time they broke it, Scully was gasping.
"Oh, Mr. Spooky. I think we've found BIG potatoes." She smiled on his lips. "Good night, G-Man."
He watched her leave and sighed to himself.
"Oh, yeah. *BIG* potatoes."
"I don't believe you need to be told this, Mulder, but you're not a loser," she had said.
