A/N: This is a weird little Labyrinth poem I wrote about everyone's favorite scene...the ballroom! I don't particularly like first person, but I decided to do it from Sarah's point of view this one time, just cuz she could explain it better than I could. I know it's weird, but it just kinda came to me during history class. (God, inspiration strikes at the strangest times!)

Disclaimer: I don't own the Labyrinth. I don't own Sarah. I don't own Jareth. (Darn it!) I don't own eternity. I don't own dancing. Heck, I don't even own a peach! I own only myself and my imagination, and although I own my imagination, I still can't stop it from wandering!

Eternity's Dance

It must have been that peach I ate

That caused me to hallucinate,

And the so longed for goblin gate

Was no longer just in reach.

~*~*~

For the cowardly deed of a friend

Almost caused a bitter end.

But our friendship, we can mend,

Unlike the effects of that peach.

~*~*~

I was no longer in the maze,

Swept up in a dreamy haze.

From there I caught his icy gaze

Beckoning from across the floor.

~*~*~

His enchanting, mismatched glance

Held me in a peaceful trance.

His eyes; begging me to dance,

Then I was afraid no more.

~*~*~

The people danced, the music swirled,

Unaware of the outside world.

A new relationship unfurled,

Could this really be romance?

~*~*~

Dancing with the goblin king,

His high, clear voice began to sing.

Suddenly, the twelve chimes ring!

I knew this was my only chance.

~*~*~

I knew I must get out of there,

I did not know how or where,

All I could do was grab a chair

And go with my first instinct: fear.

~*~*~

It all happened in a flash,

A blinding light, a startling crash.

My whole life changed from the smash.

The breaking of the eternal mirror.

Pretty bizarre, huh? Still, as always, please review! Go ahead and flame me if you see fit, I'm always open to constructive criticism. And I'm looking to reword the ever-so-awkward seventh verse, so if you have any suggestions (preferably using the same rhymes, or fitting the same pattern), please review it or email me at ptalaski@mindspring.com or CrystalDreamer620@yahoo.com. Thanks! (*_*)
