AN: I was in a bloody mood, so I decided to kill all of the Animorph
characters. ^evil crackling^
A young man stood outside the door to a modest, two story house. In his hand he held a letter, it's contents were unknown to him, but he knew that he wasn't delivering good news. He hoped that the famous Cassie wouldn't decide to kill the messenger. He rang the doorbell.
"HI!" Cassie greeted him happily, "Can I help you?"
He looked at her for a few seconds. Most people wouldn't have thought that this girl, young woman really, was sad. They wouldn't notice how her eyes wouldn't meet with his, how her smile seemed forced. He noticed, it was his job to notice these things, that's why he had been sent to deliver the letter.
"I have a letter for you." He replied briskly.
"Well, we do have a mailbox." Her smile seemed even more forced than before.
" I was asked to deliver this to you, personally."
Cassie took the letter from the young man, tentatively she opened it. Her eyes scanned the letter quickly.
"Oh, my, oh, no, it can't be. It can't." All traces of any kind of smile, fake or not, were gone from her face. She looked like she was deep in shock. Her next words seem to come from beyond the grave. "Nooooooo! It can't be!"
She closed the door, forgetting completely about the messenger, but he didn't forget about her.
Later that day an announcement came on the news.
"The last Animorph, Cassie, has committed suicide today. An hour after her death, a message came through to us. Information that had been with held from the public has been revealed. Rachel had died in the final battle for Earth. Aximili disappeared a year ago, on an inter-galaxic mission. Jake, Tobias, and Marco disappeared half a year ago, on a mission to find Aximili. A week ago, news came through to the FBI that the two ships they were on were found, completely destroyed. Their bodies were floating by the ships. They fought to protect Earth, and now they're gone. But their legacy, Earth, will live on forever."
The young messenger looked at the television, "Forever" he echoed, and went outside where a black van was waiting for him.
