Author's Note:

Hi! This poem/song I found in one of my choir books. This song totally relates about Johnny "Juan" Rico and his relationship with Isabel "Dizzy" Flores. ((They are one of THE perfect couples ever in RSTC!!)) If you want know how this poem/song goes E-mail me and I might find a way to send the 'dots' on this. I don't own RSTC characters and its merchandise. But I saw the movie and READ the book. IT ROCKS!! This is Dizzy talking here on this story. I know in the movie "Starship Troopers", they all enlisted in the M.I. at the same time, but I changed it a bit. So, DON'T flame me please!

"The show must go on!"

Johnny Has Gone For A Soldier

Arr. By Joyce Barthelson

(American Revolution War Song)

He sent me a letter today. He talks about what's going on with the war against the bugs. He writes how he misses me every single day of his life. He talks about the times we had together back on earth. I miss those times too.

There I sat on Buttermilk Hill,

Who could blame me, cry my fill;

And every tear would turn a mill,

Johnny has gone for a soldier.

Back in highschool, I couldn't tell how I loved him. He's always's with Carmen. Hanging around her like a young puppy. How sickening. I wanted to him to get away from the world of illusions. Him being with me would be not fillied with deceit and illusions, but with love and truth. How I miss him so.

Me, oh my, I loved him so,

Broke my heart to see him go,

And only time will heal my woe,

Johnny has gone for a soldier.

Sitting around here would not make him to come back. I have to join the fight. But my parents, who will take care of them? How can I just stay here and think every single minute of my life that Rico will die? I can't take it anymore! Tomorrow I'll enlist. I don't care what happens to me as long I'm with Rico.

I'll sell my flax,

I'll sell my wheel,

Buy my love a sword of steel,

So it in battle he may yield;

Johnny has gone for a soldier.

Author's Notes:

What do you think, eh? Is it good, bad, or just plain awful? Now some of the words here have never been used before so I'll give you the heads up on the vocabulary:

Flax: An annual plant the yields the fiber used in making linen.

Buttermilk Hill: It's a hill with a place for those yellowish-green flowers.

[If you can't understand a single I just wrote for those two words, don't FLAME me. I looked it up from a dictionary. Well, except for the second one.]

Now, if you want to use this song you better give cred to the guy who made this. I think he was also the guy who wrote "Amazaing Grace" right? Click on that blue button and give me your opinion.

*COMING SOON*
