It was only a matter of seconds before the great eagle was only meters away. There was no point in running away - how could we possibly escape its speed? All we could do was wait for it.

"You should not be here!" A deep voice called. But there was no one there to call except.

"You can talk??" Asked a very surprised Alicia.

"Yes. I am Gwaihir the Windlord!" replied the towering bird, "I have been sent to fetch you."

"Gw-Gwaihir??" I asked. But Gwaihir the Windlord wasn't real! I must be dreaming! Maybe I'm in a coma.

I could tell that Alicia and Brooke were just as lost as I was.

"You are in Middle Earth." Explained Gwaihir, obviously noticing our confusion.

I must be crazy!

"Gandalf must speak with you. Come, get on my back."

Reluctantly, the three of us climbed on the huge eagle's back. Then, with much speed, he leapt into the air and flew off in the direction that he had come from.

"What's happening?" Alicia asked us quietly. "Are we all crazy?"

"Maybe." I said.

We continued to soar though the sky, higher and higher.

"But think about it! Brooke whispered almost cheerfully, "Isn't this what we've always wanted? To live in Middle Earth? It's our dream! Even if we are crazy, this will be awesome!"

"But what about going back? We can't just abandon our friends and family? How are we supposed to get home?" asked Alicia.

It seemed Gwaihir had no answer to this. Either he wasn't listening or he was pretending not to listen.

Right then it hit me. We can't go back. This is no dream.

"We're dead." I said plainly. I could hardly even believe myself.

"What, Storm?" asked Alicia.

"We were hit by a car - all three of us. We were killed. We don't even exist in our world anymore. " I explained. I was shocked by my own words. So were Brooke and Alicia.
