Harry Potter, now in his 6th year at Hogwarts had a lot to deal with.
Schoolwork, (not to mention homework) Quidditch practices, and now that he
was a prefect, he had to help a lot of 1st years out. If this wasn't enough
already, Harry had even more to worry about. The Yule ball was coming up
soon. Everyone around him was pairing up. Even his best friends, Ron and
Hermione, were going together.
Harry sat on his bed one night, talking to Ron about his small
dilemma. Ron tried naming people but Harry kept refusing.
"Well," Ron suggested, "What about Lavender?" Harry sighed dully,
remembering the last time he went her.
"Seamus asked her yesterday, remember?"
"Oh, right," Suddenly Ron's eyes popped.
"Hey," Ron said excitedly, sitting up, "Ask my sister, Ginny!" Harry
just stared at Ron. Was Ron actually giving him permission to date his
sister?
"But Ron," Harry argued, "She's you little sister." Ron hopped off
his bed and sat next to Harry.
"Look Harry, I know you fancy her. I see you staring at her in the
common room and at meal times." Ron said seriously. "She's not little
anymore Harry. Go on now, I don't mind, really. If she should date anyone,
it should be you. I trust you." Harry had to admit that he did have
feelings for Ginny, but was too scared to act upon them, with Ron being her
older brother and all. And Ron was right, Ginny wasn't little anymore. She
was nearly as tall as him and very well figured. Her flaming red hair was
no longer frizzy but lay gracefully on her back. Sometimes Harry had the
urge to run his fingers through her hair, to see if it was as soft and
silky as it looked. Her eyes were a striking chestnut color and her smile
was absolutely brilliant. "Maybe she does like me," Harry thought to
himself. Whenever he gazed at her, she'd always wait a few minutes before
glancing at him. She flashed her stunning smile and was it Harry's
imagination or had she winked a few times? "Maybe this idea isn't so
ludicrous after all."

I think she likes me
And I know I like her It's kind of frightening 'Cause it's to soon to be sure I think she likes me It maybe even might be love. ~*~*~*~
"Alright," Harry nodded as he stood up. "I'm going to ask her now," "There you go Harry," Ron smirked. "I'll be here when your done." In his rush to reach the common room, Harry almost fell down the stairs. "What if she's already taken?" Harry thought. He looked frantically around the room for Ginny. She was nowhere to be seen. Spotting Hermione working on some homework, he walked hurriedly over to her. "Do you know where Ginny is?" Harry questioned as he fidgeted with his watch. Hermione looked suspicious as she eyed Harry. Clearing her throat she pointed toward the entrance. "She left about an hour ago," "Well," Harry asked impatiently, "Where'd she go?" Hermione bit her lip and innocently shrugged her shoulders. Harry didn't have time for this. "Fine, don't tell me," Harry muttered, "I'll find her myself," and with that, he started toward the portrait hole. Hermione watched him and let out a deep breath. "Harry! Wait, come back," she yelled after him, dropping her quill onto the table and jogging after him. "What?" Harry asked with a hint of irritation in his voice
