They just won the war with Clark, and most people seemed to be happy. Only those deeply involved in the war were feeling the harsh reality that nothing would ever be the same; they would never be the same. Some of them were better off then the others with hope for a bright future before them: John and Delenn would marry and head up the new alliance; Zack and Susan with their careers; Michael finally had his girl; and Stephen would go on helping people. She, Lyta Alexander, on the other hand could merely look forward to being used by people like Sheridan or Bester. After Kosh left that was all she was fit for. Ah, Kosh, this agony all caused by him and the rest of the Vorlons. Why her? Someone like a good version of Bester would have done much better. Much better indeed...

It was eleven o'clock at night when Lyta heard the door chime break into her troubled thoughts. She opened her mind slightly and found that it was Comm..., uh Captain Ivanova. Just what she needed a pessimist to join her and her already pessimistic thoughts. "Enter."

"Lyta, I was wondering if I might have a moment?" asked Susan very casually.

"Captain...Susan," said Lyta showing her annoyance, "it is rather late."

"I realize that but I'm leaving first thing in the morning." She paused for a moment. "There is something I need to speak to you about."

Lyta noticed a surge in Susan's emotions. "Well?"

Susan turned her back to Lyta and took a deep breath before continuing. "I came to apologize."

"For what?"

"Trying to kill you when you came to warn us about Control."

Lyta, bewildered, finally choked out, "That was you, I thought it was..."

Susan continuned. "Talia. I did it to keep a secret and I know now that you would not have turned me in."

"You're a telepath?" Lyta already knew the answer before she spoke.

"Latent."

With that Susan turned and left. Leaving Lyta to quandary.

R&R please. This just a quickie to get you thinking. I mean you can't prove that it was Talia.
