The Right Path

Bruck sat, curled in a small ball. Ever since Xanatos had showed him that file about his family, Bruc had been upset. Yes, he had been proud that his father had gained power. Of course he was. He had even bragged about the man to Siri! But his father had not been what upset him.

It had been his mother.

Bell Chun. She had been a Jedi. A Jedi Master. Bruck had found a picture of her in the files. He had kept and he examined it now. The woman was tall and slender. She had light brown skin that made her dark chocolate colored eyes stand out more. Like his father, and like himself, she had long white hair. His mother had been a Jedi. Killed, by another Jedi. A Jedi that the Council had put too much faith in.

' The Council consists of a bunch of fools and old duffers!' Bruck thought. He felt Xanatos summon him. Grabbing his lightsaber, the boy walked out of the room and soon met his new master.

Bruck found himself battling Obi-Wan. The idiot who was chosen at the last minute! Jealousy, overwhelmed Bruck. Obi-Wan had never found out who his parents were! Never discovered that someone who had given life to him had been killed because of the foolishness of the Council!

The battle was not going well. Bruck had lost the use of his lightsaber. He was also very close to the edge of the waterfall. Dangerously close. Looking up at the sky Bruck thought,

' My mother is dead. Perhaps that is the same fate for me?' Pretending to teeter over the edge, Bruck fell. He felt a moment of guilt. Obi-Wan would not doubt blame himself for Bruck's death. Even if he did hate the little jerk, Bruck still felt guilty.

And then he felt nothing at all.

The Spirit of a long dead Jedi watched the young man fall from the waterfall and crash on the rocks below.

" My son." She whispered. " You have chosen your path. But was it the right one?"
