That weekend she made her team train twice on Saturday and once on Sunday. They needed to be ready for the season and do well. They were all tired and grumpy but after a year of not playing they all needed the practice.

After the Sunday session, Jade told Draco about what Ron told her and obviously he was against the idea but he didn't own her, he wasn't going to control her, not like he could anyway, so he only let her know what he thought about it.

At the start of October and during the first trip to Hogsmeade, Jade paced around the common room, she had been invited to go to a meeting and she wanted to go but at the same time she didn't know if she should go.

At the end she told herself she wasn't a coward. She went to Hogsmeade with some of her friends but then she turned left, leaving the people she was with, and went to where the meeting was being held. She was a few minutes late but it was better that way. She walked inside the room as quietly as possible and stayed in the back, with her black hoodie on.

A part of her was okay with being there but another part was thinking 'what the hell am I doing here?'. Most of the people there were Gryffindors, but there were also some Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs.

At the front, Jade could see Ron, Potter and Granger. Jade could also recognize the three other Weasleys, Parvati and Padma Patil, Neville Longbottom, Dean Thomas, Lavender Brown, Cho Chang. And some people from Quidditch like Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet and Angelina Johnson. She also saw this blonde weird girl from Ravenclaw, was it Luna? She was there too.

Granger gave a speech about the way Umbridge was teaching them and called it bullshit, and that she wanted more than that and she did mention Voldemort, everyone's reactions were of fear. Jade just stood in the back, listening.

"Where's the proof You-Know-Who's back?" a blonde Hufflepuff boy said in a rather aggressive voice.

"Well, Dumbledore believes it..." Granger began.

"You mean, Dumbledore believes him," he said, nodding at Potter.

"Who are you?" Ron asked rather rudely.

"Zacharias Smith and I think we've got the right to know exactly what makes him say You-Know-Who's back." Jade wanted to intervene but she kept her mouth shut. She wanted to not be seen but it was hard for her to not speak her mind when she wanted.

"I saw him," Potter said to Zacharias. "Dumbledore told the whole school what happened last year, and if you didn't believe him and you don't believe me, I'm not wasting an afternoon trying to convince anyone."

"All Dumbledore told us last year was that Cedric Diggory got killed by You-Know-Who and that you brought Diggory's body back to Hogwarts. He didn't give us details, he didn't tell us exactly how Diggory got murdered, I think we'd all like to know —"

"Why do you even want the details? That's sick. If you don't want to believe any of this then I think you should just leave. Cedric was murdered, it doesn't matter how!" Jade exclaimed, not being able to keep her mouth shut.

"And how do you know this is true?" Zacharias asked Jade.

"We are not discussing that, are we?" Jade said coldly at him.

Potter intervened and said that if anyone was here for the gossip, they could leave. But no one did. Potter was pretty shocked that Jade had turned up, Ron was too but he was happy to see her. Granger didn't know she was invited, unlike Potter, and she kept glaring at her.

"Is it true that you can produce a Patronus?" someone in the crowd asked. Jade later recognized her as Susan Bones.

"Yeah," Harry said slightly defensively.

"A corporeal Patronus? Is it true you make a stag Patronus?"

"Yes."

"Blimey, Harry!" Lee Jordan said, looking deeply impressed. "I never knew that!"

Then Jade had to roll her eyes because everyone started mentioning what Potter had done throughout the years. Saved the Sorcerer's stone, killed a basilisk, the Triwizard tournament last year. It was like being in a fan club or something.

"And saved a Hippogriff from being murdered, right?" Jade added with a little bit of sarcasm, Potter was a bit shocked that she knew that.

"Look," he said and everyone fell silent at once, "I don't want to sound like I'm trying to be modest or anything, but I had a lot of help with all that stuff."

Then people tried to say the things he had done on his own like fighting those dementors during the summer, or the tasks last year, but Jade knew he had help. Everything was planned. He was helped to get to where Voldemort was. Barty Crouch Jr, a Death Eater, helped him in different ways to make him win. One was using the Imperius Curse on Viktor Krum.

"Are you trying to weasel out of showing us any of this stuff?" Zacharias Smith said as Potter kept trying to say he had help and trying to be modest.

"Here's an idea," Ron said loudly, before Potter or Jade could speak, "Why don't you shut your mouth?"

"Or piss off," Jade added. The three at the front looked at her and she just shrugged.

"Well, we've all turned up to learn from him, and now he's telling us he can't really do any of it," he said. "And anyway, why is a Slytherin even here? Wasn't this supposed to be secret?"

"Do you want your first lesson now, Zacharias?" Jade asked, taking her wand out. A stiff, long silence followed. No one dared to move.

"Jade..." Ron started but he stopped as she did murmur a spell but nothing happened.

Everyone thought she was bluffing or something like that, especially the ones that weren't in her year, they started thinking that she was here because she was bad at spells, as nothing had happened at all and the others that knew she was good enough were just confused. But then they realized she had silenced Zacharias. He moved his mouth but no word came out. Granger gave her a look of disapproval but Ron and Potter seemed more than okay about it.

"I can reverse it at the end," Jade muttered, smirking at the Hufflepuff.

"Moving on, the point is, do we agree we want to take lessons from Harry?" Granger asked.

There was a murmur of general agreement. Zacharias folded his arms and said nothing, or even tried to. Jade smirked at that.

"Right, well, then, the next question is how often we do it. I really don't think there's any point in meeting less than once a week." Granger said.

"Hang on," Angelina said, "We need to make sure this doesn't clash with our Quidditch practice."

"No," Cho said, "Nor with ours."

"I agree," Jade said as if she had already made up her mind about joining.

Zacharias also wanted to say something about it as he was part of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team but no sound came out so he just lifted his hand in a way to show he was agreeing with the three girls.

"But your whole team isn't here," Angelina told Jade quite rudely.

"Yes, but I'm the captain," Jade said cockily.

"I'm sure we can find a night that suits everyone," Granger said quickly before it got out of hand again. "But you know, this is rather important, we're talking about learning to defend ourselves against V-Voldemort's Death Eaters."

"Well said!" Ernie Macmillan. "Personally, I think this is really important, possibly more important than anything else we'll do this year, even our O.W.L.s and I am at a loss to see why the Ministry has foisted such a useless teacher upon us at this critical period. Obviously they are in denial about the return of You-Know-Who, but to give us a teacher who is trying to actively prevent us from using defensive spells."

"It's not only denial," Jade spoke up again. Jade wondered if for once in her life she could keep her mouth shut, maybe she should cast the same spell she used on Zacharias but on her. "It's fear. And they think the real danger it's not You-Know-Who but... us."

"The Minister got some mad idea that Dumbledore could use the students in the school as a kind of private army. She thinks he'd mobilize us against the Ministry," Granger explained what Jade had just said.

Nearly everybody looked stunned at this news; everybody except Luna Lovegood, who started to say all kind of madness and Ginny had to stop Luna and Granger as they had started to argue.

"Well, once a week sounds cool," Lee Jordan said as they went back to the topic of how often they would meet.

"As long as —" Angelina and Jade began at the same time.

"Yes, yes, we know about the Quidditch," Granger said in a tense voice. "Well, the other thing to decide is where we're going to meet."

"Library?" Katie Bell suggested after a few moments.

"Maybe an unused classroom?" Dean said.

"We'll try to find somewhere," Granger said. "We'll send a message round to everybody when we've got a time and a place for the first meeting."

"I-I think everybody should write their name down, just so we know who was here." Granged said as she rummaged in her bag and produced a parchment and a quill. "But I also think that we all ought to agree not to shout about what we're doing. So if you sign, you're agreeing not to tell Umbridge or anybody else what we're up to."

Fred was the first to sign, and he did it cheerfully. But not everyone looked okay with that idea.

"Well... I'm sure Ernie will tell me when the meeting is," Zacharias said, Jade had lifted the spell and nobody had noticed until he spoke. He didn't want to sign, but apparently Ernie wasn't too eager as well.

"Well, we are prefects," Ernie burst out. "And if this list was found... well, if Umbridge finds out..."

"You just said this group was the most important thing you'd do this year," Potter reminded him.

"Yes, I do believe that, it's just..."

"What?" Jade asked him. "I'm the Slytherin Quidditch captain, don't you think that's more prestigious? I could lose not only that and my position as player but also all my Slytherin friends."

"Ernie, do you really think I'd leave that list lying around?" Granger said, interrupting the two of them.

"No, of course not," said Ernie, looking slightly less anxious.

Nobody raised objections after Ernie. One by one signed, Zacharias was obviously the next to last person. Finally, Jade took a few steps forward, took the parchment and stared at it for a bit. It felt right, so she signed it. But she was anxious about it. If that list was found, she would be greatly punished by her parents and that was what really scared her. Not Umbridge, not the Ministry.

Jade gave the parchment back to Granger with a smirk. Granger while glaring at Jade took the parchment from her and slipped it carefully into her bag. She wasn't like this. And she didn't like that Ron had called Jade by her first name.

After Jade left the pub, Ron went after her. Granger glared at her friend but Potter didn't find it odd anymore. He had seen how affected Jade was about her parents and the fact she almost ended her friendship with Ron when she found out the truth about her family, meant she cared about him, so Potter, despite not being happy about it, he knew deep down that Jade wasn't a bad person deep down.

"That Zacharias bloke's a wart," Ron said, making Jade stop and turn around to face him, "Thanks for doing that spell."

"Don't thank me, it was nothing and he was being annoying as hell. I couldn't stop myself."

"It was awesome though... and Jade, thanks for coming."

Jade flashed Ron a small smile before she turned around again to leave but then she bit her lip and turned around again, surprisingly she found Ron in the same spot.

"I know you are having a hard time with Quidditch," Jade started. "And you are a keeper and I'm a chaser, right? So, I was thinking I could help you practice."

"Would you really do that?"

"As long as no one finds out. I can't be helping someone from another team," Jade threatened. "But yeah, I'll do it."

"Oh wow, thank you!" Ron was about to hug her but she stepped back and looked around. Ron coughed and nodded. He knew he couldn't be like that when they were in a public place. If any Slytherin saw them, it would be a scandal.

"But I'll be clear with you, just because you are my friend it doesn't mean I'll have mercy of you when we compete against each other. Out there in the field, we are opponents."

"Yeah," Ron said as he gulped, remembering a bit of the time when they played during the summer, Ron just wanted it over, he even asked one of his brothers to take his place at the end. "See you around, Jade. And stay away from trouble."

"You are asking too much, Ron," Jade said with a smirk before she finally left to meet with Draco.

How the hell do I add a picture here? I edited a picture of Jade and Ron (it's crap though) and I'd like to add it to the chapter!

Hope you enjoy this chapter! xx
