Jade had never been so busy in her entire life. Homework from all her classes, including Muggle Studies, which she wouldn't even get a grade as it was something she was doing in secret. She had Quidditch practice every single day and those secret meetings once a week on top of everything else, and she also had friends and a boyfriend. She was stressed out and she knew she couldn't just not do it.
As a Captain the whole team depended on her and with three new players they needed the practice. And with the O.W.L.s coming up, she needed to study harder than ever. She was glad Pansy was chosen as prefect instead of her. She knew why she wasn't chosen, simply because she broke rules too often. Not like Pansy cared about rules but Pansy actually had limits unlike Jade.
"We've got our biggest rivals first," Jade told her team a week before October ended. "Gryffindor. Their advantage is that six of the players have been in the team for years and work well together. Potter is obviously a threat, so Draco, try to find that Snitch quickly. Our advantage is Weasley. He is new. Crabbe, Goyle, I want you to attack mostly the chasers, especially Johnson. Lewis, please pay attention to your surrounding and try not to lose the ball too quickly and too often. Graham and Miles... you know what to do. You know their tactics, so all we can do this week is practice that... tactics, and do great out there on the big day."
Jade was nervous. This was going to be her first match as captain and she knew she had to get a good result. She didn't want to give her parents any excuse to tell her that Lexion was better than her or fellow Slytherins say they lost because she was a girl and they needed a guy to be the captain.
On the first Saturday of November, Jade woke up early and filled with all kind of emotions. She was still nervous, she was also excited and happy to finally play after a whole year.
When she went to the Great Hall she saw Ron coming down, he looked distracted and pale. She was sure he was more nervous than anyone. Jade waited until he got to her.
"I don't normally say this... but good luck today, Ron. And don't be so nervous, okay?" Jade said, interrupting his thoughts. "And remember that out in the field we are not friends, we are opponents. You have to play well for your team and I have to play well for mine."
"Maybe I shouldn't have done this. It was crazy to think I could do it," Ron said sadly.
"You got in the team, didn't you? That must mean you are good, right?"
Ron shrugged and sadly walked to the Gryffindor table while Jade walked to the Slytherin table. She ate things that would give her energy and strength and almost forced her teammates to do the same.
Draco and Jade walked to the field together, Jade was wearing her uniform with the number '13' in her back. They were joined by the rest of the team a few minutes later.
They got to the field first, waited for the Gryffindors to leave the locker rooms. Jade was the only one of her team who wasn't wearing that stupid silver crown-shaped badge the Slytherins had made that said 'Weasley is our king'.
Angelina, who was maybe two inches taller than Jade walked to her and both girls shook hands. They waited until Madam Hooch told them to mount their brooms to do so and everyone got to their positions. Jade in the middle right in front of Angelina, Graham to her left and Lewis to her right.
Behind her was Crabbe and Goyle and a little behind them was Draco. Miles was already in the very back ready to defend his posts.
Jade was the first to grab the Quaffle. She passed it to Graham, Graham managed to fly past Angelina, then passed it back to Jade, who scored.
It was after Jade's fourth goal that she started to actually listening to the song the Slytherins were singing and got distracted for a second, giving the opportunity to Fred to almost hit her with a Bludger.
Weasley cannot save a thing,
He cannot block a single ring,
That's why Slytherins all sing:
Weasley is our King.
Weasley was born in a bin,
He always lets the Quaffle in,
Weasley will make sure we win,
Weasley is our King.
Jade concentrated again and just in time as Lewis passed the ball to her. She scored a fifth time and Slytherin cheered louder than ever. It was fifty-nil now.
Crabbe and Goyle were doing good, aiming at Angelina and Alicia and from time to time to the Weasley twins. By the time Jade scored her tenth goal, George hit Lewis with a Bludger and the guy fell to the ground, he was unconscious so now Slytherin only had six players.
It was then when the Gryffindors had scored their first goal and the Slytherins sang louder. Jade managed to score three more times in five minutes. But after that it got a bit harder as Fred and George were aiming the Bludger just at her. Jade had to ask her own beaters to step in and help.
One hundred and forty to thirty. That was the score. If Potter caught the Snitch they would lose. Jade instructed Draco to hurry and find the Snitch, they couldn't lose.
After about an hour and a half of playing Jade had managed to score eighteen goals, so now she was tied with this guy that had the record for most goals scored ever in Hogwarts. Lewis was still unconcious, Graham had scored five goals, so the score was two hundred thirty to sixty.
In the following ten minutes Graham scored one more goal and Gryffindor scored three. And then Jade saw how Potter got to the Snitch just a second before Draco. Draco looked livid.
Then Potter fell from his broom as he was hit by a Bludger. Luckily he was only some feet from the ground and he seemed alright. Before Jade could go to scold Crabbe for his poor judgement, Madam Hooch got to him, but he was going to listen to her later.
"Saved Weasley's neck, haven't you?" Draco said to Potter. "I've never seen a worse Keeper."
Jade got to the ground and rushed to Draco. She told him to stop but Draco didn't listen. The rest of the Gryffindor team were landing one by one around Potter, who had been ignoring Draco. Ron was the only one who was going to the changing room, looking defeated.
"We wanted to write another couple of verses!" Draco called. "But we couldn't find rhymes for fat and ugly... we wanted to sing about his mother."
"Stop it!" Jade demanded quickly, the Gryffindors now looked at Draco with hatred and anger.
"We couldn't fit in useless loser either — for his father, you know."
It was then when Fred and George had realized what Malfoy was talking about. They stiffened, looking around at Draco. But they weren't the only ones. Jade seemed like she wanted to kill Draco too.
"Stop it or..."
"Or what? You are going to make me train more hours? Just because you are friends with them now it doesn't mean..."
"Just shut up!"
The three Gryffindor girls looked confused at Draco's words. Lias friends with Weasley? No way. The twins, especially Fred, were losing their temper quickly and Jade couldn't blame them, she was losing hers as well, and he wasn't even talking about her own family.
"But you like the Weasleys, don't you, Potter? Spend holidays there and everything, don't you? Can't see how you stand the stink, but I suppose when you've been dragged up by Muggles even the Weasleys' hovel smells okay..."
Potter grabbed hold of George, while Angelina, Alicia and Katie were all trying to stop Fred from leaping on Draco, while Jade stood in front of Draco and kept telling him to stop.
"That's enough, Draco!"
"And you! I understand Potter liking it there but you?" Draco exclaimed in a disapproving way.
Jade didn't know why Draco was being such an asshole. He didn't act like that when Jade told him about spending time at the Weasleys' place. He said he understood. She could comprehend he was angry to be so close to catching the Snitch but didn't... but it wasn't an excuse to say awful things like that. Jade could have been cruel during their first years at Hogwarts but never insulted their families like that, maybe Granger's but that was it.
"I guess you can remember what your mother's house stank like, Potter, and Weasley's pigsty reminds you of it..."
Jade got out of the way just in time. As Potter and George sprinted towards Draco and before Jade knew it, the three of them were on the ground. George and Potter beating Draco.
"Harry! HARRY! GEORGE! NO!"
Jade heard as the girls screamed at them and she just stood there, watching. What could she say? Draco defend yourself? No. One thing was insulting their parents, which was bad enough, but insulting a dead parent... that was just too out of line.
"IMPEDIMENTA!" Jade yelled, she had grabbed her wand at some point but didn't remember doing it. Despite not being on Draco's side this time she couldn't let him be beaten up any longer. He was already covered in blood and the two other boys weren't stopping.
"What do you think you're doing?" Madam Hooch screamed at them when she finally got to them. She was finally done with Crabbe.
Draco was curled up on the ground, whimpering and moaning, his nose bloody;
George had a swollen lip, while Potter was just adjusting his glasses. Fred was still being restrained by the three girls.
"I've never seen behaviour like it!" she screamed. "Back up to the castle, both of you, and straight to your Head of House's office! Go! Now! And you," she said to Jade. "Take Mr. Malfoy to the Hospital Wing."
With the help of Miles, Jade took Draco all the way to the Hospital Wing, while Crabbe and Goyle carried Lewis. Graham just accompanied them for support.
Draco was pretty bruised around his stomach and his face but Jade didn't stay. She didn't want to have anything to do with Draco or Crabbe at the moment.
One moment she was happy to tie the record and looking to break it, she only needed one more goal and the next she had a player that did something illegal and another that was provoking the Gryffindors with nasty stuff.
Jade looked at her reflection after she took a shower. Jade wondered if she was getting soft, as she knew Draco had insulted the Weasleys and Potter before and not once she had been angry at him. She sometimes would even join him or actually started it, so she didn't know if what she was feeling was okay. She knew Draco crossed a line but was it okay to be as angry?
It was after dinner that night that Jade made sure to talk to her team. Draco, of course, stayed in the Hospital Wing, making it seem like what happened was worse than what it really was. Like, even Lewis was present at the moment despite being unconscious for more than an hour.
"I'll start saying that I liked your performance. We played well, including you two," she said to Crabbe and Goyle. "Nevertheless, Crabbe, what you did was stupid and illegal, therefore you'll be suspended for one match." Her teammates complaint.
"Jade... we do illegal stuff all the time. We play dirty," Miles told her.
"Yes, perhaps, but at least we do them when teachers aren't watching us and especially not after the game is over. What Crabbe did was useless. And Lewis, as I said before, you got to work on knowing your surroundings. Bludgers can hit the best of us but you were completely distracted when it happened. You've got to pay attention. And we will train more, I want to win next time. A tie is not good enough."

So finally some Quidditch! :D
To those who are confused or wondered, Ron joined the team in the fifth book unlike what was shown in the movies (I didn't even remember about that) So I made Ron joined the team as in the books.
If you played Quidditch, what position would you play?
I've always liked the idea of seeker but with this story I tried something different and realized that being a chaser and scoring can be even better. Never considered it until I wrote this story :)
