~*A/N: Koben wa, I'm Michiiru Setou, the authoress of this fanfic. It is not my first writing, as
I have started many a short and incomplete fanfic. This occurs especially in my Gundam Wing
stories and I sometimes find myself making the characters act WAY ooc, which, as I look back,
makes them lose all their beauty. For example: If I made Duo Maxwell a popular jock in a
small town high school who thought only of himself and was spoiled, that would make him
totally lose his beauty, ne? So I'm going to try my very hardest to keep the characters IN
character. I'll go over chapters many times checking out the story line, spelling and character
habits. I just though this fanfiction up last night, while realizing my habit to make characters stray
from their original personality and the fact that I play out tons of scenarios every day in my head
that should all be down on paper. I made this fic with the utmost care, trying desperately to
keep in character, and I believe I've done a fine job so far. Reviews might lemme know
whether or not I'm doing good enough. ::cough cough::
Anyhow, I'm near finished rambling. Please enjoy!!!!

Part One, Seeking Solitude

Three years had passed since operation meteor was attempted. Marie Maia Kushrenada, the
daughter of Treize Kushrenada had realized the error of her ways and was now living peacefully
with Lady Une in a private sector of colony L3 near one of the preventer bases. There hadn't
been any threats in these past years and the colonies were being safely protected by the
preventers. The five mechas, the Gundams, had been blown to pieces in the year 196 and the
pilots now had found a place they each felt needed in. Duo and Hilde sold the junkyard and
joined preventers. It seemed a home for many a renagade pilot who felt out of place anywhere
else. Quatre returned to his home in the deserts of colony L4, and Trowa to the circus. Wufei
joined Sally with preventers, and Heero, who, in his travels, found no place he wished to stay,
now also worked for the preventers in the defense department and escourts cabinet. Each was
content with their tasks.

(Flashback)
"Yuy, I want these papers done, re-typed and edited. Have them in by Friday."
Miss Une Pressed the button on her intercom and waited for a response. The speaker beeped
and she pressed it again. "Affirmative." Heero replied in a rough voice.
(End flashback)
He had needed piece and quiet. After all, he only had two days to get the work done and he
didn't have time to bother with Duo when he took his lunch break. A friendly chat wouldn't be
at all productive.
At two a.m. a shuttle left the spaceport on earth and landed on colony L1 at six a.m.
Heero Yuy threw his forest green backpack over his shoulder and picked up his suit case and
black laptop case. In an hours time, he'd be sitting at a desk in a comfortable office chair typing
away swiftly on his silver laptop. His work would be finished by Thursday and he'd leave for
HQ in the afternoon as usual. Then came a glorious three weeks of vacation. Heero's
department got let off a week before Christmas. He wouldn't return to work until January
second.
