Over the next week, Harry had had the satisfaction to tell everything he wanted to McLaggen, who didn't take it well as he thought he had done a brilliant job as keeper and would even replace Ron for the whole season but he was officially banned from the team for life.

Jade had divided her time between being with Draco and with Harry and Ron. Ron did notice that she was starting to look a bit ill but Jade brushed it away as if it was nothing.

"Dumbledore told me it was better if I don't know about the prophecy for now," Harry told Jade. He was angry and curious. He wanted to know. "Said that once we finish seeing all the memories and talk more about Voldemort's life, then maybe you can tell me."

"I told you..." Jade said quietly. "I don't want to keep it from you but Dumbledore told me not to tell you. There must be a reason. How many more memories are left?"

"One... the one I need to get from Slughorn."

"I think you must play the victim... like say how horrible your life has been after what Voldemort did and you need that memory to understand your enemy or something like that. Don't charm him like Draco tried, it won't help. Play the pity card," Jade said as they sat down for DADA.

"I'm not a good actor."

"Practice then."

Jade had sat next to Harry, even when last time she sat with Draco. Granger and Ron were behind them. It was good that Lavender wasn't taking this class.

"Open your books to page... what is it Mr. Finnigan?" Snape asked, annoyed.

"Sir, I've been wondering, how do you tell the difference between an Inferius and a ghost? There was something in the paper about an Inferius."

"There wasn't. If you had actually read the article, you would have known that the so-called Inferius was nothing but a thief by the name of Mundungus Fletcher... But Potter seems to have a lot to say on the subject," Snape said with a smirk, his eyes fixed on Harry, who had been talking to Jade in whispers. "Potter, what's the difference between an Inferius and a ghost? And Miss Lias... don't whisper the answer to him."

"Eh... ghosts are transparent."

"Very good," Snape said in a monotone tone but everyone knew it was sarcastic. "It's easy to see that nearly six years of magical education have not been wasted on you, Potter. 'Ghosts are transparent.'"

Some slytherins giggled and Jade couldn't help but chuckled a bit. Harry glared at Jade and then turned to look at Snape again.

"Well, they are! Inferi are dead bodies, right? So, they'd be solid..."

"The Inferius is a corpse that has been reanimated by a Dark wizard. It is merely used like a puppet to do the wizard's bidding. A ghost is the imprint of a departed soul left upon earth and of course... transparent."

"Well," Ron said suddenly from behind Jade and Harry. "What Harry said is the most useful if we're trying to tell them apart. When we come face-to-face with one down an alley, we're not going to be asking 'Excuse me, are you the imprint of a departed soul?' Are we?"

This time the whole class erupted into laughter, Jade turned to look at Ron, who was a bit red. He didn't expect to get that reaction from everyone. But with one of Snape's looks the laughter died out immediately.

"Ten points from Gryfindor," Snape simply said. "However, I'd expect nothing more sophisticated from you, Weasley. Now... open your books to page two hundred and thirteen and read the first two paragraphs on the Cruciatus Curse."

Harry sensed how tense Jade got within two seconds. She bit her lip and looked extremely uncomfortable. She almost looked like if she was going to have a panic attack. Harry wasn't the only one looking at her, Draco had also glanced her way. She took a deep breath and raised her hand.

"Yes, Miss Lias?" Snape asked when he turned around and looked at her.

"May I be dismissed? I don't feel that well. Maybe I need to see Madam Pomfrey."

"Yes, go."

"Thank you, sir."

At the end of the class, Ron and Harry got into the boys' bathroom, mostly to avoid Lavender.

"Poor Jade," Ron exclaimed. "I didn't know what had happened exactly but it's horrible. I can't imagine how she can stand being around that man. If my father did that to me, I would never want to see him again. That's unforgivable, especially from a parent."

Harry knew what had happened to Jade during the Easter Holidays because he accidentally got into her mind. She didn't even try to deny it, she knew there was no point. Ron was recently told about it. He was extremely curious when he heard from Neville what shape Jade's boggart did take and what it tried to do.

"I know it's normal to be so anxious about it but do you think we could help her somehow? So she could be less anxious. We have to write an essay about it."

"I think she won't really do that one and I'm sure Snape knows why she is like that. Maybe he won't be as harsh to her."

"Harry... I was wondering... do you fancy her?"

Fortunately for Harry, Myrtle, the ghost, had appeared out of nowhere, scaring them both and for now, making Ron forget about his question.

"Oh," she said disappointed. "It's you two."

"Who were you expecting?" Ron asked.

"Nobody... he said he'd come back but you also said you'd pop in and visit me too," Myrtle said with an accusative look. "And haven't seen you for a long while. I've learned not to expect too much from boys. But I thought he liked me. We had lots in common."

"What can you possibly have in common?"

"He's sensitive. People bully him too, and he feels lonely. Hasn't got anybody to talk to or at least didn't until recently... and he's not afraid to show his feelings and cry!"

"There's been a boy in here crying? A young boy?" Harry asked.

"I promised I wouldn't tell anyone and I'll take his secret to the..."

"Not the grave surely," Ron said quickly with a snort. "The sewers, maybe."

That made Myrtle furious, she dived back into the toilet causing water to splash everywhere, luckily the two boys were far enough to not get wet.

That weekend, Jade stood next to Harry, as Granger and Ron both left to Hogsmeade to have extra classes of Apparition. Harry wouldn't be seventeen by the time of the first exam so he couldn't go. But both, Granger and Ron were already seventeen.

"I need to show you something and you don't have to say anything about it, okay? Just come with me."

Jade followed Harry to the seventh floor. She waited for him outside as she couldn't go inside the Gryffindor common room. Then once he returned, he told her to get under his Invisibility Cloak.

Harry showed her the Marauder's Map and pointed at a name. Gregory Goyle. Harry and Jade walked together under the Cloak and when they got to the specific place, Harry and Jade saw the same girl that seemed to be a first year. She was holding the same scales that Granger had fixed, that was odd enough already.

Jade even checked if they were right in front of Goyle or not and based on the map, they were. Jade couldn't believe it. Then Harry got out under the cloak and approached the girl.

"Hello, you're very pretty, aren't you?"

The girl high-pitched screamed, threw the scales and sprinted away. Jade revealed herself then.

"That sounded a bit pervy, you know?" Jade told him. "I'd have run away too."

"I didn't know what to say. Anyway, you know what's in there. We were in there last year. The Room of Requirement. And Malfoy is inside... don't look at me like that. I told you, you don't need to say anything, just wanted to show you that something dodgy is going on. That little girl was Goyle, you saw it. And she - he was here two or three days ago, on the same spot."

Harry tried to get in while Jade didn't even try. Frustrated, he kicked the wall and Jade just looked at him.

"I know you think Draco's doing something... but you should leave it. We've got homework... tons of it. And you should really stop obsessing about him. It seems like you are in love with him or something."

"What?" Harry asked shocked.

"It's true! You talk about him all the time and you follow him around and it's creepy! And it can't be healthy to obsess about someone," Jade told him. "Come on! If you don't want to do homework we can go out... it's a beautiful day, you know?"

"Okay, let's go."

Jade had suddenly become a bomb about to explode. Not only she was trying not to fail her classes and keeping a Quidditch team barely alive but she also was full of secrets.

One of the biggest secrets she had had to keep in was Cassius' kid. She had wanted to tell her parents, his parents and even wanted to confront Cass about it but she hadn't.

Then she couldn't tell a single soul about the prophecy she discussed with Dumbledore. She wanted to tell Harry as he was part of the prophecy too and wanted to tell Ron and Draco or just someone. She needed to get it out. She would even tell Chantel and Channel just for the sake of getting it out.

And now Draco had told her another thing that she couldn't tell anyone, she couldn't even discuss it with Draco and she felt helpless. She wanted to help him. Get the mark off somehow but that wasn't possible. And she remembered what they said about Regulus Black, he died a few days after 'escaping'. She didn't tell that to Draco, though.

And she also wanted to tell Draco that Harry suspected him so he could be more careful, if Harry was catching up then anyone else could be catching up. But Harry was her friend and she didn't want to betray him, but she also felt like she was betraying Draco for not warning him.

She was so stressed about everything that she had to go to the Hospital Wing where Madam Pomfrey gave her something for the stress.

Something that triggered everything even more was the fact that Lexion was turning twenty years old that day and instead of celebrating with his wife and family, he was rotting in Azkaban.

Draco was one of the few people who knew and remembered his birthday, Jade was lying on his bed, they were supposed to be working on a project but Jade seemed to be lost in space. She was staring at the book in front of her but her mind was somewhere else. Draco was sitting cross-legged next to the bed on the floor, with his back against the wall, without knowing what to say. He knew she was thinking of her brother and there was nothing he could do to make her feel better.

A few days later, starting April, Jade looked even paler and sicker, Ron pointed it out and Jade acted offended about it, she later apologized but Ron found it weird for her to act in such a way. She had completely lost it earlier and that wasn't like the Jade he knew.

She felt extremely exhausted and even had to pretend to be sick a few times and miss practice despite of being the captain. She even fell asleep during DADA, Snape gave her detention for it but he only wanted to talk and check on her, he knew what was going on with Draco and was scared that Jade was involved in it too.

Jade evaded questions and just wanted to leave but Snape told her it was detention so she couldn't leave but eventually he let her go fifteen minutes earlier as he realized Jade wasn't going to tell him anything and she wasn't letting him see in her mind what was really bothering her. She was forcing herself to think of Lexion so Snape would believe that was the issue but Snape could tell she was just hiding the truth.

"If I'm ever in danger," Jade said out of nowhere one day to Harry. "Even if it means my death, don't go to save me. Promise me?"

Jade had let it slipped one day in mid-April. She even was surprised after she said it out loud. She wished Harry hadn't heard her.

"Are you in danger or something?" Ron asked alarmed. "What do you mean? Why don't you want to be saved?"

"Just promise," she said annoyed.

"Is there something you need to tell us?" Harry asked, Jade shook her head.

Jade felt nervous at what she had said, she grabbed her books and went to her common room without another word. She was thinking that if she ever was in a tricky situation and both could end up dead, then it would be best to tell Harry to not go and try to save her. Maybe make him do the Unbreakable Vow or something like that, but that would be highly suspicious and if he broke it, he would die anyway.
