Defeating Sin gave Spira new hopes, gave it's people the feeling of long-forgotten security. Peace once again resided in the heart's of Spira's residents, but the price Yuna paid for it was high. And unbearably lonely.

----

Yuna sat on the edge of the Macalania Lake, knees against her chest, one arm folded around them while the other laid on the ground. Her brownish hair swayed softly with the gentle call of the wind, along with the folds of her outfit. The night was warm, even as the evening breeze started to pick up.

She would leave soon; to fall back into the role she played during the days, to fall back into the position she held in Spira. But right now, she just wanted to forget all that; forget the responsibilities she alone held, forget the heavy burden she carried.

She missed him. Unbearably so. Her eyes fell to the small ripple the wind had caused on the water's surface. She wondered where he was now, what he was doing, whether he was even alive.

No, he was alive. That much, she didn't doubt as she shook her head slightly. She knew he was, like an inner bond they shared, she knew.

Still, she didn't know where he was and whether the fates would ever let them come face to face again. She guessed she missed everything about him, the unruliness of his short blond hair, the gleam in his eyes, the smile he always had.

She missed him as a whole. Missed him as she missed her heart.

She brought a finger up to wipe away the drops that had formed at the corner of her eyes. Memories of him flashed through her mind as vivid as the trees that stood in front of her or the moon that was above her.

Meeting him for the first time.

Fighting alongside him.

Watching him as he struggled with those thoughts of his.

Kissing him.

A few drops broke through her resistance to hold tears at bay and slid down her cheek to fall on the ground, only a few inches from her arm.

She felt weak then, unbearably so, wreary and wished only to go to bed.

No...that wasn't all she wished. But, surrendering to her feeling of fatigue, she stood up and with a delicate finger, swiped the water from her eyes. She turned to go, but not before she gave one more glance to the clear, water of the lake.

Let's go to the sea, before the sunrise.

the horizon glows, almost like it's on fire."

It's really...pretty.
I know you'd like it.

She turned and left for home.

"Stay with me until the end. Please."

"Not until the end..."
"Always."
