Chapter 8

Everyone was either in shock or confused. Headmaster Dumbledore and Madam Pomfrey were confused about just who this new man was, how he got into the castle, and why Vitaetus was bowing before him. Vitaetus was shocked that his lord had appeared before him in person to answer his prayers and give him a reason. The possible Emperor just wanting answers, beforehand, formulated a plan on what to do here.

Everything was quiet for a moment before Dumbledore was the first to speak with exasperation. "And just who are you? Yet more surprises from the future on this hectic night?"

This made Vitaetus's head snap to the old man, rage burning in his eyes. Quickly he draws his Phosphor Serpenta and aims it at the headmaster. "You dare disrespect the Master of Mankind, The Omnissiah, The God-Emperor of Mankind? The only punishment fit for such a sin is death."

Just before he could pull the trigger and envelope the man in phosphorus, a command came from The Omnissiah "Magos Vitaetus lower your weapon NOW." After a second of hesitation, he complied and holstered his weapon, still shooting daggers at the headmaster.

Taking a deep breath, He turns to Dumbledore and responds. "Now, as for your question, my actual name is not important but you can call me Revelation. Or as he does" Revelation gestures to Vitaetus who had gone back to kneeling in front of him "You can call me Omnissiah, I suppose. And it seems that in his time, I am considered humanity's god and supreme leader. So there is that. Now before any more questions, I demand an answer to mine first." He points to Vitaetus "He should not be here. His very presence has most likely irreparably changed the future. He came out of the warp, where your psychic or as you call it magic, comes from. I am guessing his timeline no longer exists or had split off to a separate timeline, temporal physics isn't exactly something I know much of. At the moment. Nevertheless, Magos. What happened? How did you get here, what caused humanity to become so fanatical to myself, what caused me to only be able to see a single scene of your time, what happens in the future?"

Vitaetus was unsure what to do. The Omnissiah had spared heretics and just said his time might not exist? But perhaps that was the point of him being sent back, was this his purpose? Was this why the Omnissiah of his time sent him back, to save humanity from that bleak future? He was unsure but knew he had to obey his lord and tell him everything.

"Well The easiest part to explain is now i came to be here. I was part of an expedition into ancient ruins on Mars to look for lost technology. I had found information of possible archeotech called a Vortex rifle, and was given permission to go find it. My team managed to locate and secure it, though the piece I was examining activated. Vortex weapons create warp breaches to suck whatever it is they come into contact with into the warp. The weapon had sucked me in and I had only barely managed to grab my servo skull." At this, He would slightly open his robe to let said piece of machinery out. The sight of it caused Dumbledore too take a step back, Revelation to look at it in wonder, curious how it was floating and Pomfrey to look sick at seeing a human skull turned into a machine.

And so fallowing that he decided to tell the tale of The Imperium of Mankind. He started at the creation of the Eye of Terror by the Eldar, leading to The Old Night and Age of Strife, as well as what little there was known of the Men of Iron. He continued on to his Emperor's conquest of Terra leading to The Emperor of Man coming to Mars and being declared The Omnissiah, the living embodiment of The Machine God and the signing of the Treaty of Olympus Mons. This made Vitaetus pause. This was not in the Treaty, was it still in effect? He knew he would still obey The Omnissiahs every word but was he still obligated to provide weapons and technology to the rest of Earth? As Fabricator General, he decided it was best to write up a new Treaty at a later time just in case. He could use the already existing one as a base but adapt it to fit his current circumstance.

Continuing, Vitaetus explained about the 20 Primarchs, though 2 and their legions were Damnatio Memoriae, his sons and generals. He told his lord of the great Crusade and of of it leading to the Horus Heresy that tore the galaxy and humanity in two, where His favored son betrayed him. He spoke of the Schism of Mars that it caused and the newly discovered Preservation Protocol that was updated following it to allow the Mechanicus, then Mechanicum to continue on if the worst happens. He told the tale of the culminating battle aboard the Flagship of the heretic forces, The Vengeful Spirit. The glory of a single normal human man named Ollanius Pius putting himself between The Warmaster and The Emperor. He explained that The Emperor was mortally wounded and had to be entombed on The Golden Throne to keep a warp breach stable and light the Astronomican for his great fleets and armies to treck the warp and protect his Domain.

At some point in time, during his hours-long explanation of the future that would never be now, he saw a small gremlin-like creature appear and hand Revelation, Dumbledore and Pomfrey mugs of coffee. He only stared for a second before continuing. If his lord made no note of it, he decided not to either.

He told of the following 10 000 years of war that had engulfed all. He spoke that Humanity had come to see the truth, that he was the only true God after The Age of Apostasy. He told of the 13 black crusades and countless billions that died. The many Xenos threats from the deceitful Eldar, the naive Tau, barbaric Orks, extragalactic Tyranids and the ancient abominable Necrons in their tomb worlds.

At this time after mentioning the Necrons, hearty 6 hours into his explanation of his time Revelation put up his hand to silence Vitaetus for a moment. "You said Necrons? As in robotic aliens that look like skeletons, they would be from nearly 60,000,000 years ago?" Vitaetus gave a nod. He was not sure on the exact age but knew they were as old as the Eldar at least. He wanted to ask his Omnissiah how he knew but crushed the idea. Of course He did, he is the living embodiment of all knowledge afterall. Revelation grimly nodded his head and spoke once more. "I see. Do you know the location of any of their tomb worlds? I believe we can make a big impact to change your hopeless future."

The priest answered without "Of course Lord Omnissiah, I have so many star charts I am sure at least some Necron tomb-worlds are listed." The newly made Fabricator General began to mumble to himself, "Though it will take a long time to not only build enough industry to support the military developments and production needed. But the naval elements even more so. Then there is the issue of Astronomicon, as well as the Navigators. Earth doesn't yet have either. So we would need to find the mutation for it as well as train up a cast of Navigators to safely travel the Immaterium. That isn't even taking into consideration-" the priest snapped out of his thoughts and nodded, "Yes, it will take a while Lord Omnissiah, but we can make much better headway than humanity did when it first spread to the stars. I will begin calculating their current approximate locations, my lord." Vitaetus would then set a few of his internal processors calculating and adjusting his charts for where the worlds would be in the current time. 40,000 years was not long in galactic terms but would still lead to massive stellar drift.

As the two began a dialogue, Dumbledore was still thinking about the horrible future he was told about, and he was still thinking about the scar he saw. Before the two strangers got any further into their conversation the headmaster spoke, "There is something that has been on my mind for a few hours now." The pair looked at him, the guardian of humanity with neutrality, the priest with anger. "When I was..." he paused, "being choked. I saw your face, Magos. You have a scar on your forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt. I know of only a single person, a child really, with a similar scar and green eyes. But he disappeared many years ago."

Madam Pomfrey's eyes widened at what he said and looked between her headmaster and Vitaetus. The priest looked at Dumbledore with indifference and spoke, "And your point in telling me this is?"

As the conversation between the Headmaster and newly dubbed Fabricator-General Vitaetus started, Revelation began to think about what he was told as well as examine what the soul leach he got was. The Necrons still being around was worrying to him. In his talks with the Alderi gods, they explained their war of old. Perhaps if he could get the locations of some tomb worlds somewhere to them, he could bargain the information for them to share some technology as well as get the Alderi to change their current path and stop the growth of the 4th chaos god, or at least push it back a very long way. He then went on to examine the soul leach.

As he examined the soul, Revelation saw something shocking. He assumed it was from the future but no. Connected to it was a number of tendrils, 6 to be exact, going all over England. And there was a 7th as well, a piece that had joined the warp some time ago, joined his oversoul. Pulling the piece out, he combined the 2 and looked at them. So Vitaetus was a man from the future with a soul shard from the present? Either this soul had survived that long or just as shockingly, Vitaetus was from this time.

Dumbledore paused to think before speaking, "Magos, what is your earliest memory?" The question was annoying to the red-robed priest as it did not answer his own. Nonetheless, despite his displeasure of having to answer such a personal question he answered.

"Meeting my adoptive father, Magos Harvul Cogblade, for the first time. Why do you ask such a question?" His eyes did not change but to Dumbledore, their glow seemed to intensify.

"And how old were you at that time?" Vitaetus, despite his great annoyance, thought about that for a moment.

"My birthdate was made to be that day. But I recall Harvul telling me I was biologically 3 years old. I don't remember much before he saved me, I apparently suffered a head injury before he found me. But I still fail to see what some random primitive boy who you lost has to do with me." After he was done speaking both wizard and witch seemed pale, pale compared to how they were before at least. Looking at his Lord the man had a look of interest and seemed to understand.

"The boy I am talking about went missing 10 years ago. He would be 13 years old," the man spoke, and the Tech-priest continued to stare with what could at best be called best indifference. "His name was Harry Potter, and-" whatever he was going to say was cut off as Vitaetus slumped slightly. Dropping his axe with a loud clang, one hand went to his eyes covering them, and another to where his brain roughly was. Having a headache outside of one's head is odd.

The name had sent pain through his head, as the few memories from his life before made themselves known. Very few, a wooden clubbers man looking down at him with a malicious grin. He knew not what these were but they couldn't have been his. He has scanned all his files many times and has never seen them. And yet, they were from his perspective

Revelation, after hearing the Magos weapon crash to the ground, would bend down to examine it. It had an odd beauty to it and seemed of high quality from what he could tell. Reaching out his hand to pick it up and look closer, Revelation was surprised by 2 things. The minor thing was its weight. The cog-headed axe had to be at least 200 pounds. Vitaetus had been moving it around like it was only maybe 20. Though this wasn't surprising. Mars's low gravity combined with his advanced implants would have made the weight seem like nothing.

The more surprising and most important thing however was that the axe was some kind of psychic focus. He had used them before, but this was so much more powerful, like comparing a simple bow and arrow to the Fat Man dropped on Nagasaki. The ones he had used in the past, nothing more than fancy sticks, he could push 1 or 2% of his power into but this could take maybe 20% of his much greater power. He had to get Vitaetus to build him one, though a lot lighter. Maybe a sword? He always liked swords. Enhancing his strength with the warp, he stood back up holding the axe just in time to hear Vitaetus threaten Dumbledore. Again. He had to be broken of that habit at some point.

Looking at the old man with anger, Vitaetus spoke. "What did you do? By the Omnissiah answer or I shall have you as a servitor cleaning toilets with your tongue by week's end!"

This was quickly silenced by his Omnissiah. "No you will not and I ask you not to threaten others in my name." a pause "I believe you dropped this. Quite a wonderful focus I must say." within his own mind, 'Though do not see how the blunt edges of the cog make a good axe.' he then continued to speak, "Though could you explain that later. Now why are you threatening the headmaster, again?"

Vitaetus would carefully take the axe back in awe. He could feel The Omnissiah's power had touched it, the entire thing seemed to sing in joy to him and the inbuilt force weapon seemed much more potent. Looking up, he was speechless for a moment before turning to Dumbledore. "My lord, this whelp has the audacity to imply I am from this ancient time. Preposterous. Not only did this time fail to have access to the warp according to all of my records but I am not some 13-year-old child! I am over a century into your service My lord. I am not this Harry potter and I DEMAND to know what he did to my brain and that he never does it again.'' After that rant, he muttered, "Headaches are bad enough, have you ever had 1 in your chest? Because that is where my brain is, it is not pleasant at all."

Though his last comment got an eyebrow raise and an inquisitive look from Pomfrey, she said nothing as Dumbledore spoke up. "As I was explaining to Magos Vitaetus, I believe he is someone who was meant to be a student of mine, as well as a child of some former friends. I believe his name is actually Harry Potter and something caused him to be sent to the future. As for the age difference, just because one travels forward and experiences a century does not mean they would arrive back a century after they left."

Revelation would look at Vitaetus for a moment with an inquisitive look on his face. "Yes, I thought the same thing. You see, shortly after I arrived, I reached out my own powers and soul to examine him and found a leach of sorts. Something was attached to his soul and my own shard was attacking it. I looked at it in the warp and it seems to be connected to 6 other pieces around England as well as another piece of it that had been put in the warp very recently, within the last day as well. Considering the evidence General, it is a logical conclusion that you are from this time. How you went to the future doesn't matter now but it happened and I will look into it."

Vitaetus would turn and think. It had to be impossible, he is Vitaetus Cogblade, not this Harry Potter. And yet he was ordered to think over it so he did. The headmaster knew of his scar, one that even the most advanced treatments he had tried over the last century couldn't get rid of, it had been stuck with him. And then there was The Omnissiah's revelation of something in his own soul. Turning his mind inward, he felt for himself and found it almost the same as always. Almost, as something was gone. Had he had a leach? He thought over what was said and sadly it made sense with the limited information. He needed more information on this, but for now, he would, begrudgingly, accept it. He will need to find his supposed parents to take DNA for testing. Turning to the rest, he would speak up.

"Though I will believe you, for now, I do intend to find more evidence proving or disproving your theory. I will need to locate my supposed parents for DNA samples. However I will stress this, I am not, have never been nor will I ever be this Harry Potter." Holding up his hand as they tried to speak up as he continued, "I am not saying you are wrong, just that I require more than circumstantial evidence and that even if it turns out you are correct, I may be this child by DNA, I am not him. I am Fabricator-General Vitaetus Cogblade of the Adeptus Mechanicus. I have lived a life of my own and will not accept any other name. However, that does not explain why you saying that name caused me great pain."

Pomfrey would offer her explanation at that, "Well you said that you had a head injury when you were young. Perhaps it had caused those memories t be locked away or forgotten and now, being so close to your God as you call him, had repaired the damage and the name simply acted as a trigger to bring them back up."

As Pomfrey gave her explanation, Dumbledore would frown, hoping that Vitaetus would accept the truth and go by his birth name for his parents' legacy. Revelation would nod with a smile, at least happy he is not outright denying that he is from this time. Once Pomfrey was done speaking, Revelation would speak "That does make sense Madam Pomfrey and your explanation for not taking your parents name is reasonable. Just because you were this Harry as a 3-year-old does not mean you are now. People change with their environment and time. I should know, I have changed much over my life."

Vitaetus felt glad as his lord accepted his explanation before Dumbledore spoke once more with a kind smile. "I am sorry to cut this short as I am sure there is much more than can be discussed but it is getting early in the morning and the students shall be up soon. Would you two care to join us in the great hall for breakfast?"

Revelation would respond in kind with a smile, "Of course headmaster. It seems appropriate to at least join you for a meal after we have taken over your medical wing all night. Come Vitaetus, let us see what this school is about before we plan for the future. We will have a lot to discuss later, mostly about the uses of your technology to aid humanity and I do not wish to do so on an empty stomach." Turning back to Dumbledore, he gestured to the door, "Lead the way."
