Rushing forward, Revelation had just managed to reach Vitaetus and push the Phosphor weapon down and to the side as the trigger was pulled back. This caused the shot to be sent through Vitaetus' robe, down the hall and passed a blonde wizard that had just rounded the corner, missing him by inches but still setting his robe alight. Sensing a surge of warp energy from the wizard from the end of the hall, in a split second Revelation shot his hand past Vitaetus head, pulling the energy to his hand.
Looking down at the hall, the spell forming a green ball of lightning in his hand, Revelation saw the man cast an ice spell at her burnt leg. Knowing this was one of the worst possible decisions, but not caring at the moment as he had far more important issues at the moment, when the man looked up at Revelation, the god like man simply spoke a single word at the man, using his power to compel the man to follow it no matter what, even if it worsens his wound. "Leave." With this single command, Revelation watched as the man turned and limped down the hall as fast as possible.
Breathing a sigh, Revelation closed his hand, dissipating the spell and sending the energy back into the warp. He then backed up slightly and looked over the cyborg, making sure he was unharmed. His other hand, still on the side arm, gently pulled it from Vitaetus' grasp.
Vitaetus himself was shocked when he heard his god speak then pull the Phosphor Serpenta from his hands. He should be dead, his soul in the warp being devoured by daemons, cast from the grace of The Omnissiah as he deserves.
After a moment of standing there, Revelation spoke again. "Vitaetus." Seeing the priest didn't move, Revelation tried again but with a softer, kinder voice. "Vitaetus, look at me." After a couple seconds, Vitaetus' head raised, his eyes powering back on and glowing their eire green color. Looking him in the eyes, Revelation continued, a hint of sadness in his voice. "Why, why after what you have learned over the last day, of where and when you are. Why would you try to kill yourself after you learned all that, of the knowledge that you hold. Please, help me understand what led you to such a drastic action."
Vitaetus looked down and knelt on the stone floor and began to speak softly. "Lord Omnissiah, I am a heretech. As the scriptures state, I have committed the ultimate sin of angering you. I am unworthy of gazing upon your glorious footprints let alone being in your gaze. I am unworthy of life. I deserve and shall embrace my death for the transgressions and sins I have committed."
Revelation felt sadness when he heard this. Vitaetus had tried, and nearly succeeded, in ending his own life because HE was angry at him. He tried to because that was what Vitaetus was raised to think was right, because that's what he knows and what his culture expects and demands. When that crossed his mind, Revelation's thoughts came to a halt. That was the crux of the issue, something so simple yet vastly complex. The problem was culture. He was expecting VItaetus to act as someone from today, not a person raised and indoctrinated in a dystopian future where people are looked at as a resource at best.
Kneeling down and placing a hand on Vitaetus' shoulder, who tensed with apprehension of being struck down by his god, Revelation spoke. "Vitaetus hear me and know this, I do not believe you have committed a sin and I believe you are worthy of life and looking at me. Had I thought otherwise, I would not have pushed your gun to the side and saved you. Regardless of what your culture says, I believe you are still worthy and any sins you feel you have committed are forgiven now and forever."
Vitaetus looked up hearing this, sure his audio receptors were malfunctioning. Before responding he ran a quick diagnostics of his audio receptors, wanting to be 100% sure he had heard correctly.
Initiate diagnostic check=Audio Receptors
{Diagnosing}
{Diagnosing}
{Diagnostics check complete. 0 issues found. Audio Receptors operating at 100% efficiency. Praise the Omnissiah.}
What counted as Vitaetus' breath hitched in his metal throat as he looked up at Revelation with shock at being forgiven. "Truly my lord? I am forgiven?" Receiving a nod, Vitaetus dipped his head again and spoke a prayer. "Praise be The Omnissiah for he is merciful. I promise you Lord Omnissiah I shall not squander this second chance, I swear it."
Revelation clapped Vitaetus on the shoulder before standing up, doing his best to lift the priest with him. Once they were both up, he spoke. "I am sure you won't Vitaetus. But for now, let us go and speak with the headmaster then we can head somewhere to talk. I feel I know what the main issue that led to my anger has been and will be in the future to cause you trouble. That is a conversation for later. Let's head to the office, though I do have one last question if you don't mind. I noticed the other man, the one who got grazed by the shot, his robes caught on fire but yours didn't, why is that?"
Inwardly, Vitaetus smiled, happy that he could share knowledge and get his mind off of what had just happened, if only for a moment. "You need not ask for information my lord, all I know I will share with you wherever you wish. As for the reason, it is because, as with the majority of tech-priests, my robes are not simply cloth. The entire robe is designed around being resistant to the high heats found in forges. Though on top of that, the outside is a chemical resistant fabric to protect from spills. Woven throughout is an impact resistant material to protect the wearer from flying parts should a machine break or tools get launched. And finally on the inside is radiation shielding due to the many hazardous materials found on forge worlds. Of course this is all subject to change depending on the priest. I myself have an additional layer of psychic absorbing material set before the radiation shielding. My robe is as much technology as the rest of myself."
Revelation was quite shocked at just how many materials were contained in the robe, it looked to be only a centimeter thick at most. Though he supposed that material science would have advanced greatly in the following 40,000 years. "That is quite amazing, I'm sure some of the materials used in its making can be of great use in many industries around the world. Now come along, let's get to the headmaster's office, we are almost there." As they walked, Revelation handed the pistol back to Vitaetus who muttered a small prayer over the weapon before placing it with the holster on his hip.
It was another couple minutes of walking for the duo before they came to a spiral staircase, Revelation able to sense the headmaster's psychic signature just a little ways away. Walking up, he heard Vitaetus metal feet thud against the stone steps as the cyborg followed. Reaching the door at the top, Revelation respectfully knocked before entering the room.
Upon entering the room, Revelation saw the headmaster sitting behind a large and ornate wooden desk with a wand in his hands. It was this that Revelations' eyes were drawn to, it seemed so familiar. Shaking his head to clear his mind, Revelation focused on why they came here and gave a smile to the aging headmaster who gave a tired one back. "Ahh greetings Revelation and General Cogblade. I hope you two had a good rest?" Said the headmaster as he summoned another glass and filled both with some firewhiskey before pausing and thinking if VItaetus could have any as he was technically only 12. Unsure, he simply asked the man. "Ahh General, would you like a glass of Firewhiskey?"
Vitaetus simply looked down at the ground in shame before responding."It is Magos now Headmaster but to answer your question, no. It is as good as water for me anyway as my bionic liver would filter all toxins including any alcohol."
Dumbledore gave a quizzical look at the priest as Revelation facepalmed at that having slipped his mind. "I see," Replied the headmaster while standing up and walking to hand Revelation a glass, "if you do not mind, may I ask why the rapid changes in ranks?"
Taking the glass, Revelation let out a sigh before downing the liquid and coughing a second later at the burning liquid. Shooting out his hand to the side, he blocked the priest should he think the headmaster had tried to poison him. After a second of coughing, Revelation spoke up. "That was my doing, headmaster. It was a rash decision on my part due to cultural misunderstanding, shall we say." Turning to Vitaetus he continued, "I am not going to demote you Vitaetus, as I said that was rash and uncalled for, you can go by Fabricator General."
Vitaetus was going to argue this, saying that his lord was right, he had not earned the rank. Though before the cyborg could get a word out, Dumbledore spoke, "Forgive me for intruding but If I may ask Revelation, my boy, are you able to even do that?"
Revelation simply gave a shrug as he spoke to the aged wizard, "I am probably the only person on earth he would listen to so yes, I think so. Anyway, we did not come to discuss his standing but other matters. Mainly the ghost and what is going to happen in a week."
Dumbledore nodded before moving back behind the desk while gesturing at the seat in front of it for Revelation to use, Vitaetus standing behind and off to the side of his god. "Of course, though before we get started, may I know your actual name? Revelation is an interesting title, but I doubt your parents named you that." While saying this, Dumbledore's eyes seemed to have a small twinkle as he silently cast the Legilimens spell to read Revelation's mind to get a real name. Though his concentration on this ended less than a second later as a warp infused fist slammed into the top of the desk, denting and slightly charring the wood.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, I shall give you a single warning," Spoke Revelation while looking the headmaster in the eyes, the cold anger that could be seen in them betraying his calm tone, "NEVER try to enter my or Vitaetus' mind. Should you ever try again, I will allow Vitaetus to do what he sees fit with you. Is that understood?"
All Dumbledore could do was nod his head, his attempt at trying to control the conversation ended before it even began. When he nodded his head, Revelation seemed to relax in his chair while Vitaetus seemed to stare at him, his cold gaze almost pleading the old man to try something."Good. If you wish to call me something else, you can call me Jim but we will leave it at that. Now before I tell you what happened, I want to hear what you think happened to the ghost." said Revelation
Dumbledore ran his hand through his beard as he thought over what he saw and heard. He had an idea what happened but did not know for sure. "If i had to make a guess Jim," Dumbledore paused for a moment to judge the reaction of the two, though not seeing any quickly continued, "You somehow helped them along into whatever comes after death. Though beyond that I could not guess."
Revelation, or Jim, nodded with a small smile on his face, happy that the headmaster was not far off. "That is close enough for what I expect you to have concluded. They did move to the afterlife, their souls having joined something known as the oversoul. I guard all human souls in what comes next and make sure they are safe. Now, I am going to erase the memory of them leaving from your mind when we are done here. You can not convince me otherwise so please do not try. You'll know we had a conversation about it but not remember the actual event or the details that were discussed. Now before we move onto the next topic, do you have any last questions?"
Dumbledore was shocked. So not only was he correct, the man in front of him was effectively guardian of the afterlife. But then Dumbledore's brain stopped. He watched over all souls, that would mean even his sisters. Maybe, just maybe Revelation would be willing to bring her forth for him to apologize to Ariana for his part in her death? Speaking up, he asked, "Jim, if that is true, may I ask a favor, as a brother who has long grieved-" Though he was quickly stopped by a hand being held up in front of him.
Speaking with a sad tone, Revelation responded, "I am going to stop you there Headmaster, the answer is no. Bringing a soul forth from their rest causes them nothing but pain. You are not the only one able to read the minds of others. You sister is happy where she is and I will not disturb her. But I will pass a message to her for you if you wish. This is a one time thing though."
Dumbledore silently nodded, thinking of what he would say. After a couple minutes of silence, he spoke. "Please tell her I am sorry, that if I could I would go back and change what happened that day, I would have kept her safe and never made plans with Grindelwald."Revelation only nodded as the aged headmaster took a moment to steady himself before he spoke again. After a moment, he spoke again as he did have a couple of questions before they moved on, the main one about Peeves. He had seen the poltergeist since the others moved on and did not know why he remained. "Only a couple if you do not mind. The first is why my memories but not General Vitaetus? The other is what of Peeves the poltergeist? I have seen him around since breakfast, though he was cowering in a suit of armor."
Revolutions eyes went wide when he heard about the poltergeist. That is something that has to be dealt with before it grows. "Vitaetus is a special case as he already knew of it and I am not sure I could wipe it from his mind. About this poltergeist, if you have a way to summon it, do so. I would like to speak with it." As he commanded Dumbledore to do so, he subtly used his power to make the headmaster comply. Once he saw the headmaster do so, Revelation pulled back his power to not scare off the thing as well as getting ready to form a psychic barrier to trap it.
Unaware of this manipulation, Dumbledore gave a friendly smile before sending out a patronus to bring the poltergeist to the office. "It should be around 15 minutes before Peeves arrives assuming he is still in the same place. Is there anything either of you would like to talk about until he arrives?"
Revelation nodded and turned to Vitaetus. "Vitaetus, given all you have learned about you from this time, do you believe that you are from this time?" He hoped the cyborg was fully convinced, but if he wasn't, had a hope the headmaster would know ways or the location of more evidence to fully convince the priest.
Vitaetus thought over the data he had collected from this time and ran calculations on it all, considering everything that could happen and would need to happen for him to be from this time. After a moment of running calculation, he responded. "My lord, there is a non-negligible chance of 74.38% that I truly am from this time. It is likely but not certain. I would need DNA or an object bearing my psychic, or magical as you call it Headmaster Dumbledore, signature should any exist to know for certain."
Revelation nodded at that. He hoped that wasn't the answer but was still pleased to see that Vitaetus wasn't outright denying and seemed open to the idea. Turning to the headmaster, Revelation spoke, "As you see headmaster, while Vitaetus is not fully convinced, he is more open to the idea he is from this time. I was wondering if you would know where his parents are or anywhere we can go that may have a match for his magical," This last word was said with great reluctance, "signature. I am sure that either or both of these would be enough for him to accept this is his original time."
Dumbledore took on a somber look at the mention of Harry's parents. After a moment he composed himself and responded. "If you wish to verify your magical signature, you can go to Gringotts bank. The goblins would have it on file to verify his identity and allow him access to his vaults should the key be lost or destroyed. As for his parents, I am afraid they have been dead for over a decade now. A great pair they were, dear friends of mine. However you do have an aunt from your mothers side that lives in Surrey, Vitaetus."
Vitaetus did not react at hearing his supposed parents from this time were dead. After all, if they were his true biological parents, he had no reason to care for them as he never knew them. "However," thought Vitaetus, "If it is true that I am from this time, which is seeming more likely, I shall have to find their bodies and make servo skulls to honor them for bringing me into existence to serve The Omnissiah." Vitaetus spent a moment thinking over what the headmaster said, both of these sounded as a good way to verify whether or not he was from this time. He wanted to test the DNA but after a second thought otherwise as he did now have a DNA sequencer with him. After a couple seconds, Vitaetus spoke with his conclusion. "Do you know the location of this bank headmaster? A comparison of signatures would be best as they are impossible to fake and would be absolute proof."
Both Dumbledore and Revelation nodded at this, happy he was willing to look at evidence. "Of course my boy. If you two wish, you may stay another night at the castle and take the train tomorrow morning with the students to Kings Cross station. It is only a small walk from the station to the leaky cauldron and then just down The Alley to Gringotts Bank. Though, if you are going to," Dumbledore paused at this, not sure how to bring up Vitaetus' appearance without coming across as rude. WHile he had never truly seen the priest due to the robe, from what Madam Pomfrey had described, it would be truly horrific to anyone. Even his red robe stood out greatly. After a moment, he continued to speak. "Well honestly, your appearance is undoubtedly going to raise questions and concerns for both magicals and muggles alike. Do you have any way to hide or change your appearance to look more⦠human?"
Vitaetus looked down at his torso as well as extending his optical mechendrite, the snake-like limb moving to look over all of himself. His Volkite Blaster was folded against one side of his back, power-axe held by his servo arm along the other and his robe was clean. The only issue he could see is his reactor. He zoomed in on the edge of the shield to examine the ad-hoc fix. It should not have held as long as it has. Vitaetus could only assume it was by the grace of The Omnissiah that it was functional and safe until he could properly repair it. He looked like a standard tech priest, or as standard as one could be so failed to see anything wrong. "I do not, though I fail to see why I would need to do such a thing. I am human and look as normal as any tech-priest. I fail to see anything wrong with my appearance."
Dumbledore looked to Jim for help on getting Vitaetus to understand, unsure how to word it as he did not know how muggles would react but knew that magicals would shun and fear, if not attack Vitaetus. "Jim, perhaps you would be more likely to get the point across? His appearance is quite eye-catching shall we say?"
Nodding, Revelation turned to the tech priest and spoke, "Vitaetus, I have to agree with the headmaster. It is not that there's anything wrong with your appearance but at this time, we do not have cybernetics, energy weapons or man-portable nuclear reactors. You would stand out and draw unwanted attention to yourself. It is important to hide the way you look until your technology is introduced to the world then slowly reveal your true self so no one freaks out. Nothing major, just a simple psychic or holographic projection over yourself until such a time. Do you know how to do that?"
Vitaetus did not like the idea of hiding his appearance. He was graced by the machine god and did not see why any would look down upon him for it. However as The Omnissiah said he believed it is a good idea for the time being, he had no choice but to accept. "I acknowledge your reasoning my lord. I admit I have reservations about hiding myself, I shall accept it as your will. Though I do beg your forgiveness as I am not sure how to do so. I have never trained my psychic powers, my lord."
Dumbledore was disappointed at hearing this. From what he had come to understand, these psychic powers and magical powers were one and the same and to hear Harry had completely neglected his magical birthright in favor of muggle technology was saddening. It was a wonder he had not developed an Obscurus decades ago. However this had solidified his idea to invite Vitaetus to Hogwarts to study magic, it may not be too late to teach him what is needed to face Voldemort. Though as Dumbledore opened his mouth to make the offer to use the library as well as the invitation, Peeves floated in through the wall.
Peeves was terrified. There is no other word to describe the cowering poltergeist as he hid in the suit of armor hoping IT did not find him. The Anathema was at Hogwarts and all Peeves could do was hide. He first felt something was different last night after a huge breach in the warp but simply wrote it off as paranoia. Then this morning Binns came rushing saying that they were not forgotten and He was here for them at last. It was the burst of power after that as the souls were brought into the warp that caused Peeves to be terrified for only He had that power. Since then he was hiding in a suit of armour.
Headmaster Dumbleodre had stopped by as he saw the armor rattling though Peeves couldn't get words out to ask if it was gone. Then just a bit ago there was a burst of power and Peeves screamed. A pure agony filled scream. The power burned, it was pain like he had not felt in hundreds of years. It didn't dispel him and send him back to the warp but was close. Then just minutes ago it was gone, like the thing had left the castle and Peeves was huddled on the ground, almost sobbing.
That was until a patronus appeared over him, relaying a message that Dumbledore requested the poltergeist in his office. Reluctantly getting up, Peeves floated towards his destination. The students he passed, had shocked looks at seeing the normally joyful and mischievous spirit looking so downtrodden and dejected.
As he got close, Peeves stopped and took a moment to right himself and take on his normal mischievous grin. He had to act as all was right and after all, The Anathema was gone now, so there was nothing to be scared of right? Steadying himself, Peeves floated through the wall and into the office.
