Simple and Clean

On the surface, one would wonder how such opposites could work so well together. After all, Sally was the beautiful, brilliant princess, destined to fall in love with a prince charming or hero. Shadow was the Ultimate Lifeform, rough around the edges with crimson eyes glowing death and danger. They seemed like two jagged puzzle pieces that shouldn't fit, and yet, they did.

8. Gateway

Sally adored windows. Windows were like portals, revealing to her the outside world that she so desperately longed to partake in. Instead, she was stuck cooped inside the palace, bored beyond all possible reason. Sitting on the ledge of her window, she made herself content with simply gazing outside. She grinned at the shining sun, watching avidly at the bustling people in the town square.

One day, I'm going to leave this place and taste the wind on my tongue and run through the grass bare feet, the young princess vowed, eyes ablaze with determination. For now though, she would just have to sit back and watch the outside world through the pane of her window. For now, she would have to suffer through being able to see the world, but unable to touch it, unable to explore it and discover new things.
