48. Everyday Magic
A world like theirs was extraordinary and full of wonder. There was magic abound in every nook and cranny. There were the mystical gems of power that were the Chaos Emeralds, Sol Emeralds, and Master Emerald. And there were the powers her friends possessed. Sonic could run at speeds faster than the speed of sound, Tails had his brilliant intellect, Knuckles had the power behind his strength, Amy had her magical hammer, and so on and so forth.
So, really, Sally should be used to all of this, but she still found her mind being blown away by it all regardless. She watched in awe as Shadow trained, marveling at the strength and power his body possessed. Chaos energy ran through his body, and she watched as he hurled bolt after bolt of Chaos Spears. They hit their targets with deadly precision, exploding as soon as they made contact.
He could use that energy and teleport too, which was cool as hell. She remembered him using it to get them somewhere quicker, and her body trembled uncontrollably as she was unused to it. He was quick to steady her, a welcomed presence, those gorgeous crimson eyes of his piercing her through her very soul as he stared at her.
He amazed her. She knew he didn't think himself worthy of her praise or love, but he did. He was strong, kind, dedicated, and passionate. He cared about his friends, this planet, and her. He loved her in his own special, magical way, and she wouldn't trade him for anything in the world, and she would keep loving him until he could see what she and everyone else saw in him.
