Chapter 1
The birds were singing, the sky was blue, the flowers blooming.. But.. in the Tendo Kingdom, things weren't going so well...
"I'm WHAT?!?!?"
"Oh, Akane! Don't disappoint your poor father! You will be a good girl and marry Prince Ryoga won't you?" King Soun bursting into tears.
"I WILL NOT! I've never even met the guy! Why can't you ask Nabiki or Kasumi to do it?" retorted an angry Akane.
"Oh Akane! WAAAAAAAHHHHH!! But I already have!! WAAAAAAAAAAH!! It's up to you to uphold the family honor! You won't let the kingdom down will you? WAAAAAAHHH!!"
[AUGH!! that is so typical of Nabiki and Kasumi. Stick ME with the prince and duty of upholding the kingdom honor. ARGH. oh well.. it is a very long way to the Hibiki kingdom.. that gives me a lot of time to get out of this engagement.]
"Oh fine daddy.."
"WAAAAAAAH!!!!!! I knew you'd see things my way!!! WAAAAAAAAAHHHH!! What an honorable and responsible and beautiful daughter I have! WAAAHH!! She's all grown up now! WAAAH..." as Akane walked out of the room.
[Goodness.. you'd think he'd stop crying once I agree...I still can't believe he made such an agreement with King Genma Hibiki. I didn't even know they knew each other- much less guessed that they trained under the same martial arts master. Who's this Happosai anyway.. hm.. BUT TO MAKE A PACT THAT THEY'RE CHILDREN WOULD MARRY? ARGH!! IT MAKES ME SO MAD! of course, I'm only 16- it could take years before I'm actually required to travel to the Hibiki Kingdom and fulfill my duty as a princess. And- I could use this as an excuse for all the neighboring princes to leave me along... Why did Daddy never mention this before anyway? ...maybe some morning training will help me clear my head...HIYAAAA!]

The next day...
"HUH? what's all this?" as Akane walked into the courtyard full of people, gold, riches, servants, and a huge luxurious princess-carrying-thing [I don't know what that thing is called].
"Oh daughter! This is the caravan and entourage that will be accompanying you on your journey to your beloved husband Ryoga."
"WHAT?!?!?! b.b..b..bu...but.."
"You will be wed to your husband before next month! It's such a shame it couldn't be sooner. Afterall, the Hibiki kingdom is SO far away."
Akane was in shock.
"Of course, we'll need to hire a bodyguard for you- you never know what perils you may have to endure to get to you love."
coming out of her shock [I wasn't expecting this for at least another month.. bodyguard?]
"BODYGUARD? Why do I need a bodyguard? I'm perfectly capable of protecting myself from bandits. And why do I need all these people and animals to come with me? That would just attract MORE bandits... besides who said I even wanted to get married to Prince Ryoga so soon?"
"Oh Akane.. you're growing up so fast.. It seems like just yesterday when you and Ryoga were just playing together in your underwear... WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!"
"Oh bother.. maybe I should just runaway..."

"I am so hungry... It seems nobody wants a sword for hire anymore... ah.. a city.. means people... means food...ah.."
said a martial artist dressed in a red chinese shirt and black pants with a pigtail- slowly making his way toward the Tendo Kingdom.

Wow.. this is very.. sloppy. Not very developed. But that's ok. My very first fanfic. And I will finish it. Let me just eat some lunch first...
