Chapter 20: Triple Threat II: Impact
Age 762 (2012), Paprika Wasteland, Chikyu
No, not like this! Gohan wouldn't allow things to end so easily! So far the battle with Nappa had gone terribly. The arrogant, pig-headed Saiyan was disposing of the Earth's heroes easily. Piccolo, his sensei, was regarded as the most powerful being on the planet following his father's death. But even the Namekian was falling prey to Nappa's might.
If his mother was here she could have singlehandedly put an end to the battle by now. Piccolo had told him to erase all thoughts of his mother, wherever she was, but that was easier said than done. Now, more than ever, did he wish that she was here to provide him with guidance and lead him to victory over this foe. But the princess of the Amazons was not present, and more than likely would not be showing up anytime soon. Until his father arrived, Gohan and his comrades would be on their own.
Piccolo had placed great trust in him, holding him in the greatest esteem. His sensei had even gone so far as to call him the secret weapon in this battle. But so far all his training had appeared to be for naught. He hadn't even managed to put a dent in Nappa's armor. Where was all this strength that Piccolo had such faith in? Krillin was a valiant warrior, but in the end, Gohan was the progeny of Earth's most two powerful beings. It was time he showed it.
"Snap out of it Kid! Your opponent isn't going to let you lollygag all day!" Piccolo grunted in annoyance as he shouted over to his daydreaming apprentice.
Gohan instantly snapped out of reverie, sheepishly apologizing as he returned to his senses. "I-I got sidetracked."
"Save it for someone who cares," The Namekian scowled. Maybe he had been foolish to put his trust in a child, even one as powerful as Gohan. "Krillin and I need you to be fully here. Both physically and mentally. We can't win this battle without you."
Gohan nodded reassuringly at his mentor's words. Piccolo would often chew him out but always left him with a sliver of hope.
"You can say that again Piccolo," Krillin groaned as he massaged his aching jaw. Nappa's punch certainly matched the size of his fist. "We need to come up with a new strategy if we hope to beat this monster."
"Well, we're going to have to come up with it on the fly because he's headed this way right now!"
All three combatants eyes were diverted to the skies as they noted the hulking Saiyan rocketing towards them. Taking the best course of action the trio decided to retreat in opposite directions, there was no way Nappa would be able to catch them all. Their deductions were proven correct as Nappa splintered off, charging towards his nearest opponent, Gohan. The Demi-Saiyan braced himself as the unrelenting fighter crashed into him.
A painful wail escaped Gohan's mouth as he was forced back, eventually skidding to a halt. Nappa grinned, bearing all of his fangs as he menacingly stalked the child. The fear was palpable in the air as the elder Saiyan gained traction. The pain of their previous encounters weighed heavily on Gohan's mind with each step. But he was the son of an Amazon, trained by Piccolo, he wouldn't allow it to overcome this time.
Shedding those thoughts from his mind the halfling settled himself as he dropped into a familiar fighting stance. Mere inches behind Nappa Krillin had snuck up and was preparing to attack. The Ki accumulated in his right hand was sure to at least scorch Nappa. But before he could strike he was waved off by Piccolo. The former monk considered ignoring him until he observed the icy resolve in his glare. Point taken Piccolo.
This was the moment Piccolo had been waiting for. All throughout his training, the Namekian had attempted to push Gohan as hard as possible mentally. But with the Demi-Saiyan's physical gifts that was nearly impossible to do. Goku's son was completely reassured by his power. But now, in the present, facing Nappa, he was completely outclassed. It was do or die for Gohan. Piccolo would intervene if things potentially got out of hand, but for now, he wanted to see just how far his student had grown.
In a flash, Gohan was off. Piccolo had barely blinked and Gohan had already shortened the distance between himself and Nappa. The Saiyan appeared to be equally as surprised, though showcasing it with the contempt in his eyes. Nappa cocked back, preparing to strike but was stunned as two solid punched connected to his jaw. His head leaned back, legs stumbling slightly as a flurry of hard-hitting fists followed. It was a beautiful but painful rhythm.
Nappa's eyes widened in shock as he felt pain echo throughout his body. Impossible! How could this little runt be harming him like this? His shock quickly turned into anger as he noted a droplet of red liquid seep from his nose. He was bleeding?! For the first time during this battle, he was on the receiving end of a beatdown.
"Why you little...!"
Deciding he'd had enough Nappa summoned Ki to his left palm. He had been prepared to unleash it, only to discover his miniature foe had vanished. At this very moment, he wished Vegeta hadn't commanded him to discard his scouter before the battle. It wouldn't have been very necessary anyways though as Gohan soon materialized behind him. Thrusting his hands forward the prodigy unleashed a torrent of Ki that sent the invading warrior soaring.
Nappa's momentum was finally halted as he collided with a nearby stone pillar, which shattered on impact. Dusting himself he growled as he emerged from the rubble. That kid was really starting to piss him off. His rage was further multiplied as he saw the smirking Demi-Saiyan floating in the sky. You're in for it now you punk! Shattering the sound barrier Nappa blasted off towards Gohan.
Piccolo's pupil remained calm as the Saiyan inched ever closer, finally moving as Nappa jabbed him with a punch. Unfortunately for Nappa that strike only impacted an after image. His head quickly snapped round, eyes darting furiously as he scanned the perimeter. Gohan's location was finally given up as he revealed himself in front of Nappa. A cocky smirk, reminiscent of Piccolo's own, spread across his face as he uttered one word.
"Kamehameha!"
The sky was illuminated with hazy light as the blue beam ripped through Nappa's abdomen. The former general was instantly forced out of the sky, smoke steaming from his body as teetered to the ground below. His eventual impact was tremendous, rocking the landscape to its core and even forcing Vegeta to take note. That boy is impressive.
Down below Krillin and Piccolo shared awed expressions. The Namekian knew Gohan had great potential, but never dreamed that his apprentice was capable of this kind of feat. In a few short seconds, he had managed to harm Nappa in ways neither Krillin nor himself could. Maybe this was the power Athena had been so disturbed about. Who knew what feats this child could accomplish in the future with his full array of abilities?
But Earthling's moment of victory was short lived as Nappa promptly lifted himself from the crater. Smoke was still steaming from his now battered armor, but he was relatively ok. The only thing that had truly been damaged was his tremendous ego. The time for showboating was over. These warriors would die painfully.
Krillin couldn't even react as the Saiyan zoomed over to him, his normal cocky countenance replaced by complete anger. Master Roshi's pupil was blasted away as Nappa opened his palms. Piccolo refused to be next and dashed off to engage the extraterrestrial foe. Piccolo was given his full attention as the Saiyan turned to greet him, matching each other with shockwave inducing blows. Kicks and elbows were soon thrown as both fighters unleashed every arsenal under their belt.
Sensing his sensei losing traction Gohan jumped into the fray, dashing down from the skies. Unfortunately, Nappa observed him, dodging his punch in the nick of time as he tossed him into his mentor. The two were sent tumbling back as Nappa indiscriminately fired Ki at them. Blast after blast peppered their skins as the Saiyan fired with no end in sight. If not for Krillin's interference, his assault might have killed them both.
Goku's best friend jumped back into the battle as he attacked Nappa from behind. A hard kick to the spine provided an ample distraction. The Saiyan instantly twisted around, a Ki infused chop nearly beheading the former monk. But nimble as ever Krillin evaded it by the skin of his teeth. He, however, was unable to avoid the follow-up knee to the gut which propelled him into the air. Nappa immediately followed, hot on his trails, as he cocked back to deliver a bone-rattling punch to the face.
At the minimum Krillin's jaw was dislocated as the blow landed, blood spewing forth as it impacted. The following succession of blows wasn't any less painful as the Saiyan blitzed him from every conceivable angle. Stars and darkness were on the verge of fully encroaching him before Gohan and Piccolo stepped in, latching onto both of his arms. Grunting as they flooded their arms with Ki, the duo held back his fists from any further attacks. This only caused Nappa to set his sights on them once more, ejecting violet rays of Ki from his fists.
Gohan and Piccolo wisely let go, narrowly evading the attacks. In the midst of all this Piccolo managed to grab Krillin, reconvening with Gohan as they landed on the ground.
"He's even more unrelenting now!" Krillin panted as he wiped the blood from his nostrils.
"That just means we'll have to match his ferocity." Piccolo calmly said. As powerful as Nappa was he wouldn't be able to handle them if they actually worked together.
"We have to stick together this time, and I mean it." Gohan added. Till this point, Nappa had managed to keep them off balance separately. Not once had he faced their might together as a complete trio though.
"You're right Gohan, we can't let him split us up again." Krillin nodded in agreement. Fighting with Piccolo was still taking some getting used to, but it was necessary in order to survive.
"If one of us charges, we all charge." The group nodded in unison at Piccolo's words as they reached an understanding. No more dividing, splitting up or running. They had to face Nappa head on as a collective if they even hoped to keep him at bay.
"On guard, he's coming!"
Moving with singular thought the trio dashed forward, rushing to meet the Saiyan half way. In the past, they would have gone their separate ways and split up, but they all had the same goal now. Nappa's eyes narrowed as he watched the small squadron approach. He had faced overwhelming odds before and beaten them, but something about this encounter felt different. Before he knew it the Saiyan was struck by multiple attacks.
He blocked a punch from Gohan but was unable to parry the elbow and jabs from Piccolo and Krillin. Slightly dazed, he retreated backward. He was given no time to breathe though as the next wave of attacks quickly commenced. Moving with lightning speed the three warriors pounced from every angle. A kick from the left by Piccolo, a roundhouse to the right by Gohan, and a straight punch to the solar plexus by Krillin all elicited a cry of pain from the Saiyan.
Vegeta looked on with great disappointment as his partner instantly became a punching bag. The once boastful Saiyan was reduced to little more than a slab of meat as his opponents hammered away. Unrelenting, the trio continued to pool their efforts. Grabbing hold of Nappa's arms, Gohan and Krillin held him steadfast as Piccolo gathered Ki to end the battle. The Saiyan, however, would not lie down easily and broke free of their grasps, tossing them to the wayside as he kicked Piccolo in the face.
Concentration broken, the Namekian was forced on the defensive as Nappa rushed to engage him. The power of his blows was overpowering. Even though he managed to block the attacks, his skin still throbbed from their ferocity. If this kept up Piccolo was sure to lose a limb. Luckily his student wouldn't allow it, butting into his clash as slammed into Nappa's backside.
Growling in annoyance Nappa turned to confront the Demi-Saiyan, only to be met with a boot to the face. Piccolo quickly joined in, striking from behind as he fired a Ki beam into his back. Forced into a corner Nappa flipped to the defensive, raising both arms as he began battling the duo. Their attacks were well timed and precise. As Nappa would block one blow, another would immediately follow it's place. It was a never-ending tug of war.
Finally having had enough Nappa expelled his rage in the form of an explosive wave. Brilliant golden rays filled the sky as Gohan and Piccolo were flung back. With both of them momentarily out of commission, it forced Krillin to attack. Wearily approaching the hairless man cautiously gauged his opponent. The plan had been to work as a trio. On his own Krillin stood no chance and had no delusions about it.
Sensing the hesitation Nappa immediately sprung, he had no such reservations. Like a ball out of a canon, he dashed, ramming into Krillin's defenseless stomach. Oxygen instantly vanished from his lungs as Nappa's massive fist entrenched itself further. Blood seeped from his lips as Nappa continued his assault, rapidly firing punches to his gut. A demonic melody formed as Krillin screamed in pain, bones snapping as Nappa infused his fists with Ki.
Gohan and Piccolo were awakened by the shrieks and cries of their comrade. Piccolo held no attachments to the former monk but knew this battle was a lost cause without him. He motioned for Gohan to follow his lead but the Demi-Saiyan was already long gone by then, anger clouding his judgment.
"You pathetic Earthling! Die!"
But before Nappa's final blow could land it was intercepted by an enraged Gohan. His aura sparked as he gripped Nappa's hand, shoving back into the warrior's chest. Though he tried with all his might Nappa was unable to break free of the ironclad grip. How could a mere child be so powerful? He was given no time to dwell on the question as a hard right rocked his jaw. Blood splattered everywhere as Gohan continued the motion, cocking back and slamming into his face repeatedly.
Piccolo's brows rose as the tint in Gohan's eyes began to change, flickering to a brief red. The Namekian was as baffled as Nappa as he watched his pupil manhandle the Saiyan for the next several seconds. The atmosphere shaking as each mighty blow connected. But Gohan could not keep up that pace. Eventually, Nappa managed to regain himself, the aura around the Demi-Saiyan dying as he overpowered him.
With a merciless slap, Gohan was sent rocketing away, only finding relief as he crashed into the ground below. The Earthling's brief glimmer of hope was over in the blink of an eye. Damn it! I let myself get distracted during whatever the hell that was! I should have taken that moment and struck Nappa while he was down! Piccolo mentally berated himself as the Saiyan set his sights on him. No matter what they seemingly threw at this beast, he survived and kept pressing on.
This had to end, one way or another! Grating his teeth Piccolo blasted off in the opposite direction.
"The Namekian is running? I knew you were a weakling but I didn't believe you were a coward though!" Nappa chuckled as he viewed Piccolo scamper away. "You have a bunch of pathetic friends kid."
Down below Gohan couldn't believe it. Piccolo had trained him to be unrelenting, even in the face of death, and here he was running away?
Krillin can you hear?
Piccolo? The confused former monk thought as he heard the Namekian's voice enter his mind.
Can you gather your strength for one last final attack?
I...I think I can. What do you want me to do though?
A Destructo Disc should do the trick. I'll district Nappa, but you'll need to time this perfectly.
I can do that. But what about Gohan?
He's serving as a distraction right now. Nappa enjoys seeing his opponents in agony. Gohan's providing him enough of that mentally to last a lifetime.
You're using your own student as a distraction? That's pretty dark even for you Piccolo.
Just shut up and follow the plan.
Cutting their mental link, Piccolo halted as he turned around. His aura flickered to life as he began his charge towards Nappa. He wasn't a praying man, but if there was ever a time for a higher power to favor him- it was now. As he approached Nappa's full attention was given to him. The foolish Saiyan couldn't even sense Krillin, mere yards away from him constructing a Destructo Disc. As Nappa outstretched his palm, intent on delivering a killing blow, a sudden shout from behind disoriented him.
"Destructo Disc!"
Age 762 (2012), Mojave Desert, USA
"Now do you realize how insignificant your power truly is?" Turles laughed as he flexed his muscles. The power surging through his veins was more than enough to strike down the Kryptonian now.
Though he was unable to detect Ki, Clark's bodily senses observed the nearby desert creatures running for dear life. Animals only did that when in the face of a super predator.
"I'm not afraid," Superman composed himself as he rose to his feet. "Whatever plans you have for this planet will fail."
"We'll see about that."
Blasting off Turles quickly shortened the gap between him and his foe. Kal-El's eyes expanded as the Saiyan materialized in front of him. Before Clark could even react, his gut was pounded by several knee-buckling blows. The wind was instantly knocked out of him as Turles continued to pepper his stomach. Glee was evident in the Saiyan's eyes as he watched the anguish he inflicted on the Kryptonian. He finally punctuated his combo with a Ki blast to the ribs, sending the Kryptonian soaring.
The man of steel roared back, body slamming through sand dunes before eventually rolling to a stop. Shaking it off Kal-El hopped back to his feet. There was no time to dwell on the pain pounding his bones as Turles surged forward once more. Raising an arm just in the nick of time, the Kryptonian managed to block a straight jab. The air surrounding them vibrated as the two appendages met.
Even though he managed to block the strike, Superman was still pushed back as Turles planted into the ground. A cocky grin was plastered on the Saiyan's face as he began pushing the man of steel back. Gritting his teeth Clark valiantly tried to remain put but was forced back with every step Turles took. At this very moment Superman realized that he would have to play dirty. At such close range Turles would be easily susceptible to his heat vision. Clark was staunchly against killing, but Turles would be able to survive the blasts.
Opening his eyes fully, Kal-El unleashed the full brunt of his laser beams. The landscape was irradiated red as Clark poured every ounce of power he had into his eyes. The already dry and arid desert began smoking as Superman let him have it. Eventually, though, the wave of sizzling energy died down as the man of steel began to tire. Finally shutting his eyes he ceased the brutal assault.
I hope that was enough.
Kal-El's hopes were quickly dashed as Turles emerged from a cloud of steam, angry as ever.
"I'll admit I was unprepared for that attack. I didn't believe you had such a streak of viciousness inside you," Turles commented as he dusted himself off. His armor was scorched, still blazing hot, but he was relatively unharmed. "I'm still surprised by these abilities of yours though, no previous Kryptonian showcased such power."
H-H-how did he survive that? Cautiously stepping back, Clark eyed his opponent. Just how powerful were these Saiyans? "Let's just say I'm a bit different from the rest of my species." Kal-el skipped around his prodding. Turles didn't need to know the true source of his power.
The Saiyan's eyes narrowed, unsatisfied with his answer, but pressing on. "Regardless, you've proven to be more formidable than any Kryptonian I've ever encountered."
"Are you applauding me?" Clark asked in a confused tone.
"You may my opponent and a worthless Kryptonian, but I must applaud a worthy challenger when I find one," Turles admitted. Unlike the rest of his race, the Saiyan was not so easily blinded by his hatred for the Kryptonians. "But in the end, you will have to die."
With those parting words, the battle was on once more. A blow to the jaw reignited their struggle as Turles struck first. The Kryptonian's head flung back as he reeled from the blow. Turles follow-up was not any less viscous, ramming into him with a knee to the chest. Superman's eyes jolted open, wide with shock as Turles proceeded to drill him. Knee after sharp knee blasted him as the Saiyan quickened his pace.
Gripping his head Turles brought it forward as he slammed it into his knee. Bone met bone, with Turles winning the engagement as Superman's blood began to rain down from his nostrils. A throbbing pain assaulted Kal-El's skull as Turles repeated the action. Having reached his breaking point Superman decided to finally fight back. Summoning the wind from deep inside his stomach, Clark unleashed a gust of wind that sent the Saiyan flying.
Dropping to one knee Clark attempted to catch his breath. That last engagement had been anything but kind to him. Turles was fighting to kill, but his own morals would not allow him to steep so low. The Kryptonian was used to fighting opponents with less than benevolent intentions, but very rarely were they more powerful than him. Batman had warned him about this months ago, but he had refused to listen then.
Who knows how much longer I can keep this up. Is this even the full extent of Turles abilities? My power grew tremendously during all that training, but it still isn't enough. I could really use some help right about now.
Glancing back up Superman saw his foe on the run once more. That brief reprise still wasn't enough. At his current speed Kal-El wouldn't be able to dodge in time. He could remain put and attempt to bear the brunt of another cruel attack, but would his body withstand? But he had no other available options. Raising his arms the man of steel placed them above his face and waited.
But no attack ever came.
"Looks like we got here just in the nick of time." Yamcha chuckled as he blocked an overhead strike from Turles.
"This guy has an uncanny resemblance to Goku." Tien noted as he gripped the Saiyan from behind.
"I was almost fooled too, but his Ki is completely malevolent." Chiaotzu commented as he psychically restrained Goku's doppelganger.
Superman blinked, shocked at the sudden appearance of his saviors. "That was unexpected, but highly appreciated." Clark smiled as he regained his senses.
"No problem big blue." Yamcha smirked as he continued to pull on Turles arm.
"He's extremely dangerous, you can't let up for a second." Kal-El warned as he attempted to rise from the dirt, before being waved off by Tien.
"Don't worry about this Superman, we've got it. Just catch your breath in the meantime." The Triclops reassured with a warm smile.
"I don't know who you new fools are but your confidence is unbefitting. You will all die."
"We'll just have to see about that." Chiaotzu calmly replied.
"It's your funeral Earthlings."
Without a further word Turles promptly vanished, managing to slip out of the trio's hold. Yamcha was first on alert, glancing around as he tried to locate the Saiyans energy signal. A spike of Ki erupted beside him, notifying him of the immediate danger. As Yamcha leaped into the sky he gazed down and viewed Turles, who along with his extended fist, had rematerialized at the same location he had previously been in.
The Lone Wolf smirked at his luck as he descended back towards Turles, hoping to catch him off guard. Yamcha's plan was halted as two other warriors arrived and struck before he could. Tien and Chiaotzu quickly engaged the Saiyan with a combination of swift attacks. Their movement was fluid and perfectly in tune with one another, creating a mismatch for the Saiyan. His movements were too stiff and rigid to parry or evade the blows; he simply allowed them to land.
After a minute or so, the duo quickly realized their attack was having no effect. Switching tactics the duo attempted to form Ki blasts. They were abruptly interrupted, as Turles two elbows smashed into their face. A crunch was heard as their heads snapped back. Turles attempted to capitalize on the opening but was halted by a fist to the left side of his face. The blow had little to no effect, except diverting his attention and causing him to twist his neck.
Slightly irked, the Saiyan turned and spread his palm, discharging a wave of Ki from it. As the dust from blast dissipated it revealed nothing. Turles was only alerted to the presence of his attacker when he was struck again, by multiple Ki blasts. The brief barrage ended quickly, and he was once again left alone. As the smoke cleared, the Saiyan realized the assault had been a diversion to give the other two warriors ample time to retreat.
He growled in frustration as he glanced for his prey. He didn't have to wait long as Tien appeared in the sky above him. He immediately rocketed to the heavens above, arms cocked back in a punching motion. But as soon as he neared the Earthling he vanished. Confused, the Saiyan's eyes danced around for clues.
He found one as Tien appeared with his fist buried in his stomach. A small gasp escaped Turles lips as he clutched his ribs. He quickly found another reason to shriek as the Triclops struck him again, with a hard punch to the face. A quick kick sent the Saiyan vaulting through the air, finally stopping as he neared collision with a mountain. Anger boiled throughout Turles as he rushed back, hoping to recompense Tien for the embarrassment he'd caused him.
His route was halted when Chiaotzu suddenly appeared before him. The Saiyan grinned as he laughed at the idea of the mime harming him. His thoughts were proven wrong when he received a strong knee to the neck. His pain receptors spiked as his neck flared with immense pain. Aggravated, Turles immediately grabbed Chiaotzu's leg and threw him out of the sky. Tien's best friend flailed through the atmosphere before he finally recomposed himself. His eyes immediately found the Saiyan, who still headed back towards Tien.
"Dodompa!"
The beam of radiant energy struck the unsuspecting Saiyan, knocking him off his route. Turles soared back a few feet before he regained himself. Shaking the cobwebs, he turned his attention back onto Chiaotzu who was now hovering a hundred feet away from him. In a burst of Ki the Saiyan sped off towards the telekinetic. Chiaotzu's startled expression said it all as he gawked at Turles, who had now appeared before him. In a quick motion, Chiaotzu was sent flying back as Turles struck.
The Saiyan was unrelenting and gave chase, quickly catching up to Chiaotzu who was still vaulting through the air. Materializing behind him, Turles quickly brought his fists together and slammed them down upon Chiaotzu. The mime was sent tumbling dangerously towards the ground. A shockwave erupted as the former crane student finally collided with the Earth below.
"Chiaotzu!"
The perturbed shout snatched the Saiyans attention, as he turned his sights to Tien. Tightening his fist, the Saiyan rocketed towards the Earth. Tien's full attention diverted to Turles as he watched him approach his fallen friend. The rage he felt only intensified as viewed Turles cocky grin.
"Continuous Energy Bullet!"
Rapidly thrusting his hands, Tien expelled multiple cerulean beams of Ki at Turles. Explosion after explosion reverberated throughout the sky and battlefield, as the beams detonated. After what seemed like an eternity the bombardment of blasts finally ended, leaving a gigantic cloud of dust and steaming smoke lingering in the air.
"Did you think that would be enough? That weak assault was nothing!"
As the smoke finally dissipated it revealed an unharmed Turles levitating in the sky. Tien's eyes nearly feel out of their sockets as he watched Goku's doppelganger converge on him. He finally snapped back to his senses just in time to block a left hook. His arm exploded with pain as the blow collided. But the brief sensation he felt was nothing compared to the pain that bombarded him as Turles struck again, with a punch to the face. As Tien's head snapped back, reeling from the force, he noticed the red liquid that was now gushing from his nose.
Quickly smirking at his work Turles attacked again, capitalizing on the opening he had created. Summoning a humongous amount of Ki to his fingertips, he expelled the gigantic Ki blast, close range, at Tien. The landscape surrounding Nappa was illuminated with saffron light as the beam approached. A gargantuan explosion soon followed as the beam completely engulfed Tien.
"Too easy."
As the smoke obscuring the battlefield cleared, it revealed an enormous crater which extended for about a hundred yards, with Tien sprawled at the end of it. Discarding his amazement at his handiwork the Saiyan turned and looked for his next opponent. His eyes glanced around before he located Yamcha, who was attending to the hurt Triclops.
"Tien are you alright?"
"I'll…be fine…that attack was something else though. But don't worry about me, Turles is approaching- you have to leave now!"
"But what about you?"
"Don't… worry about me! I….can take of care of myself, just get out of here!" the Lone Wolf quickly nodded before he rocketed to the sky with Turles still giving chase.
A grin crossed the Saiyan's face as he watched the Earthling attempt to escape. Didn't he know his speed was nothing compared to his own? Regardless he loved it when his prey ran. The human eventually stopped his flight and stopped on a nearby mountain. Landing, he quickly slid into a fighting stance.
Turles immediately charged, full speed, at Yamcha who simply remained standing, not bothering to move. The Saiyan arrived, bringing his arm down, hoping to crush the Lone Wolf. His fist came up empty, however, only colliding with the ground in the mountain. A large tremor formed and spread throughout the stone before it crumbled from the strength of the blow. As the mountain completely collapsed, Turles turned and attempted to locate Yamcha.
The Saiyan's eyes fell upon him when he noticed the Lone Wolf levitating in the air on the other side of the fragmented formation. A scowl formed as he observed his indifferent expression, not caring in the least about his display of power. Irritated, Turles rushed towards Yamcha who mirrored his actions. A shockwave reverberated as they clashed in midair. Another shockwave echoed as their eblows collided. A third shockwave followed, this time, caused by the impact of Turles fist slamming into Yamcha's skull.
His head snapped and rang with more pain, as a barrage of Turles fists found their way onto various parts his body. The dazed man was then promptly kicked out the sky and sent tumbling towards the ground. He finally halted his unwanted descent, as he neared collision with the ground. Recomposing himself, he turned around and located Turles, who was still levitating in the sky. The Saiyan's cocky visage enraged him and caused the former bandit to lose all battle sensibility. He charged recklessly towards the sky, firing multiple Ki blasts as he approached.
The Saiyan didn't bother to even move, and easily slapped every beam away. Finally smacking the last beam, Turles was greeted with a knee to the gut. His knees bent as he attempted to withstand the force. But the relentless warrior struck again, vehemently kicking and punching the Saiyan, sending him staggering back. With a final knee to the face, Yamcha concluded his brief assault. Turles head snapped back into place as he recovered from the blow and gazed at his opponent, wiping the blood now leaking from his lips.
"That was quite impressive, but it's my turn now!"
Yamcha barely had time to react before he was sent tumbling backward from a roundhouse kick. Turles elbow soon gave him another reason to stagger back. Capitalizing on the opening, Turles brought his fists together and ax handle smashed the former bandit away. He careened uncontrollably towards the ground before a humongous light consumed his path. A large explosion and a gust of wind followed as the ray engulfed Yamcha.
"No!"
Turles attention was diverted from the Lone Wolf as he saw Tien approach. The enraged Triclops promptly smashed his fist into the Saiyan's face. Turles swore he felt his nasal bridge collapse as blood started leaking from his nose. The furious Earthling attacked, savagely throwing reckless strikes. As wild as the barrage of blows was, Turles was powerless to defend against them. A final, excruciatingly powerful punch, sent the Saiyan tumbling through the sky before finally lodging himself into a pillar of rocks.
"Kamehameha"
The enormous beam of light erupted from Tien's palms, in the same fashion as it previously had, except this beam was twice as large. Superman gawked as he watched the attack approach, radiating with more power as it converged upon Turles. An explosion followed as a humongous gust of wind washed over the battlefield, sending everyone present tumbling back.
A big thank you to everyone who reviewed chapter 19!
Q/A:
dark flacon: Vegeta won't really have a reason to fuse with anyone, unless it's Goku. I'm probably not going to use the god modes from Darkseid War since I won't be doing that story arc.
Darkmist111: In previous chapters I stated that I would be using certain characters from the DBZ movies.
WELp2: No one on Earth will have any involvement with the creation of Doomsday. You'll see Martian Manhunter during this story arc actually.
JOEL: The Crusher Corps haven't been created yet.
Trusty McGoodGuy: The DC gods on Earth probably couldn't stop Beerus unless they all combined their efforts.
Op: I've previously stated that I don't intend on using any characters from Super besides Beerus and Whis.
Guest: Nappa's power level was 4,000 in canon, per Akira Toriyama himself.
Two Evil Carrots: Yes, the Olympians are primarily Earth based gods. In chapter 11 I said that Kami could make the Dragonballs dormant again, thereby ruining the gods previous plans. I never said that Kami was more powerful than them or anything of the sort. In terms of raw strength I have continuously stated that Beerus outclasses the Olympians. Also, keep in mind that some of my statements were said prior to the onset of Dragonball Super. In a straight up brawl Beerus would defeat the Olympians, and handily. The reason I said the Olympians could probably defeat Beerus in a unified effort is because of their other abilities. The Olympians have displayed reality warping, magical abilities, time manipulation and etc. Those other abilities combined together could potentially defeat him. I haven't seen Beerus deal with characters who posses those kinds of powers till this point. In a purely physical fight Beerus crushes them though.
Exploding Sun: Thor has nothing to do with DC or DBZ so I will not be including him in this story. To my knowledge no story in this section has ever featured a Goku and Superman fusion, so I can't understand it being cliché. Regardless, I planned it out a long time ago and it's going to happen. It won't be a permanent thing though. 1.) So far the spaceships have landed in America because the plot needed them to. 2.) Chi-Chi's involvement with Argus will be explained down the line, and she's a dual citizen by the way. Chikyu has it's full trust in it's heroes. They don't really feel the need to start an organization like Argus. 3.) I never said Methumans exist only in Chikyu and America. Metahumans are still relatively new to modern society anyways. Fire, who was featured two chapters ago, is originally from Brazil. 4.) Piccolo doesn't love America. I don't know where this is coming from. I've only shown him meditating there once.
