The Stranger On the Roadside
A/N: I had to post this update even though I didn't get as far as I intended. I'm busy working on something that has to be done by tomorrow and as usual, when I have fixed deadlines my characters wake up and disrupt my life. Do they act up when I want them to? Hell no, that would be way too easy. Anyway, enjoy it!
This update finds the couples at various stages in their marriages. I hope y'all will appreciate the fact that things can and will eventually change. I simply ask you one thing, since we don't know each other, don't call me a liar and tell me you can no longer read the story. If this story is not for you fine, simply move on or write your own.
Regarding social issues, Black Lives Matter even more so now that we continue to see the evidence we didn't see before social media. The audacity that my people are still being treated this way is appalling. I thought the days of Roots and Kunta Kinte were behind us but it seems America wants to regress rather than progress. "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Just ponder that for a minute, the statement does not single out a race of people, it said we as humans are equal. So the question is, does the aforementioned statement truly reflect what we see when we turn on the television or read the news online or in print? Does America represent a fair and just society for People Of Colour? Don't get me wrong, America is not the only culprit but it is by far #1 at the top of the list. One by one these violators of human rights will tumble because #EnoughIsEnough and #BLM! #VOTE!
The Kennedy's, the morning after...
The soft morning light filtered through the wooden slats across the room. It was still early enough, but late by their usual standards given their normal routine would have had them in one of their kitchens prepping for the day ahead.
A gentle cool breeze came off the Tobesofkee that morning giving the day a pleasant start to what lay ahead once the mercury climbed and the Georgian heat became unbearable.
Malyk lay on his right side propped up on his elbow watching Michonne as she slept.
The sheets draped around the lower half of her naked body which lay spent next to his. Her dreadlocks mostly remained contained in the scrunchie she wore, but a few rebellious strands spilled across her beautiful face and down her toned mahogany back.
Autoreflex caused his finger to gently remove the stray locs covering her gorgeous countenance. He enjoyed watching her sleep. She looked like a sleeping goddess with a knowing smile. After all their years together, her beauty still took his breath away. As if compelled, he leaned forward and gently kissed her exposed neck. His actions caused Michonne to stir.
As her body edged closer to his warmth, she felt his manhood stir.
"Good morning," she giggled, "Still energized, I see," she added, and pressed herself into his protective warmth.
"Always," he replied gently and kissed her lips with a feather-light touch. "Good morning, Mrs. Kennedy," he added, gently kissing her soft swollen silky lips once more. "You never cease to amaze me, but last night—" he paused as the images of their entwined bodies flooded his memory. He smiled. "Mrs. Kennedy, last night, you were on fire."
Michonne cupped his stubbled face, "You weren't so bad yourself, Mr. Kennedy," she smiled.
"It felt like it did before, deeper even—" he added, gently kneading her ass cheek as his steel rod pressed hard against her soft silky skin.
"Your vulnerability made it possible. You needn't keep your feelings bottled up, Malyk. We're in this together."
"I think we needed that reset. I think we should celebrate and light this town up."
"Why, Mr. Kennedy, whatever do you have in mind?" she teased.
"I'm thinking maybe a little dinner for two—," he added, punctuating his thoughts with a light kiss to her collarbone.
"Mmm," she added, giving voice to her pleasure and moistened her lips. Her delicate fingers traced the bulge of his bicep and her warm brown eyes locked with his as she listened attentively to his seduction plan.
"Something sexy—" he continued, in a rich baritone whisper as he kissed and sucked at her earlobe.
Michonne's head relaxed into his body. "Sounds romantic," she cooed.
His lips lazily glided up and down the silky soft skin along her collarbone inhaling wisps of lavender and sandalwood as he peppered the path with kisses causing her skin to pebble beneath his warm breath.
"Mmmm," Michonne moaned.
"And a small overnight bag," he added, as his large hand dipped beneath the sheet and silently slipped between her slightly parted thighs exploring the telltale signs of his effect on her.
She inhaled deeply and moaned as his finger explored her nether region more intensely "What else, Mr. Kennedy?" She asked in a ragged breath.
"You know this has always been my Kryptonite, don't you?" he replied referring to her sex and lowered his lips to hers.
Michonne quickly glanced at the sun's rays across the room trying to anticipate whether they still had time to play, "Do you think we have enough time?"
She moistened her lips, gently cupped his stubbled face, kissed his full lips and moaned into his mouth as the kiss deepened.
"Time is what we make it, baby—are you ready?" he asked, his breath short as his mouth stole her words.
Her head bobbed up and down.
In a flash, Malyk's muscular arms quickly took hold of her petite frame and repositioned her atop of him in anticipation of a morning quickie.
But as Michonne took his member in hand poised to continue her domination from the night before, there came a small eager voice from the other side of the door.
"Daddy, are you coming?"
"Fuck!" Malyk groaned. "I wish we were," he whispered for her ears only.
Michonne giggled. "It seems our little Aquaboy is ready for his father-son time."
Malyk's lips parted slightly allowing her tongue. Her aroused nipples pressed gently against the warmth of his body as she kissed him passionately and pulled away placing a peck on his lips and prepared to dismount him, but his strong arms held her hips in place. His hips bucked up and the glistening tip of his throbbing manhood fell millimetres away from her wet entrance and Malyk groaned.
"RJ, go back to your room, son, daddy will and come to get you in a few minutes," he answered.
"You promise?"
"Always, son."
"Okay, Daddy."
Michonne's body was once more erect and straddling him as she prepared to leave.
"Wait, where are you going? I just bought us some time," he pleaded.
But Michonne pecked his lips and freed her hips. "Later, Mr. Kennedy. I'm off to shower then I'll make us breakfast. Once my boys are fed, this Mama's off to do a little retail therapy to find something sexy for my hot date tonight."
"So, what was that kiss all about?" Malyk whined.
"Something to look forward to—," Michonne winked flirtatiously.
"You're such a tease,"
"You started this, not me," Michonne answered sweetly as she bent over and gave him a view as she retrieved the silk purple robe from amongst the discarded clothes on the bedroom floor.
...
The Grimes, an hour later...
"Wow! I guess Daddy really missed me, huh? Not that I'm complaining, it was amazing." Charmaine added breathlessly.
Rick chuckled hard once his breath stabilized. "Did you ever question it?" he retorted and gently pressed his lips to hers. "Did you really like it?"
"I won't lie, the choking was a bit of a surprise but I liked it. Somebody has been watching a little too much porn while I was away? She teased as her hand stroked his semi-hard member.
"Are you happy?"
"Of course, I'm happy," he answered, and kissed her lips once more. "It's not every day a man's wife tells him they're expecting a baby," he added, placing his hand on her still flat stomach. How are you feeling? Are you hungry?"
"I'm fine. I told you my news, it's your turn." She stated with eager anticipation but her husband's reaction was not what she expected. His body momentarily tensed.
"You really should eat," he added, getting out of bed and retrieving his discarded boxers from the pile of clothes strewn about their room.
"Honey, is something wrong?"
"It'll keep, trust me. I don't want to ruin this moment. I'm going to call mom and ask her to watch Teia tonight and we'll celebrate at Christian's. If you want, we can make a whole night of it."
"That's fine, but what did you want to tell me? Why are you trying to avoid the subject?"
"I'm not avoiding the subject, Charr. It will keep. I thought you'd be more excited about going to Christian's it's your favourite place."
"God damn it, Rick, you're shutting me out," she added frustrated.
Charmaine's bubbly after sex demeanour suddenly changed because her husband became evasive. She recognized his tells, it was in the tension in his shoulders, the non-eye contact and the rubbing of the back of his neck. Charmaine knew without a doubt that something was wrong, so she pulled the sheet from the bed and wrapped it about herself and stood to face him.
"You're having an affair, aren't you? It all makes sense. The call. The sex— we—we've never done that before and we always talk about trying new things. But that—you've done it before. There was no hesitation on your part. What the fuck's going on, Rick? Why are you lying to me?" She screamed.
"Charr, babe, don't get upset it's not good for you or the baby. Plus, waking Teia won't help either."
"Would you stop mansplaining shit and tell me why you are lying to me."
"I swear on my mother's life, I'm not lying to you. And I'm not having an affair." Rick stepped towards the feisty petite honey-coloured woman wrapped haphazardly in the champagne coloured bed sheet. Her curly long brown hair a dishevelled mess after their reunion romp. Her angry light brown eyes pierced his heart and he wished he could erase the pain he saw in them. He caved.
"I think you should sit down," he added, with outstretched arms guiding her back to the rumpled bed.
Between the fatigue and her hormones, Charmaine was a mess. She gave up fighting her tears and simply allowed them to fall. Their reunion was anything but the way she had imagined it. Something was wrong and she knew it. She felt it in her bones, he was about to drop a bomb, one that would change their marriage forever. How could she have read it so wrong? She thought they were happy and with the news of their baby, she thought he'd be happy. They hadn't been trying long, but it was something they both wanted, at least she thought so.
Rick sat across from a crying Charmaine whose tears flowed freely now. He reached out to touch her, but she swatted his hand away like she would a fly.
"Charr, I didn't want to ruin today especially after what we just shared, but you wouldn't let it be. I promised you that I'd never lie to you." He stood and paced across the room. He ran his hand over his grey sprinkled buzz-cut, turned once more and paced some more. Finally, he came to a stop and knelt down in front of his wife.
"Yesterday afternoon, I found out that I have a son. He's almost five. I swear I didn't know. I called you the moment I found out."
"You have a son?" asked her small voice, choked with emotion. "And what does she want from you after all this time?"
"Nothing, it was a chanced meeting. I ran into them at that new restaurant downtown, they own the place."
"Oh, so they're not exactly without means."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning, if they really wanted you in their lives they had the means to do so, don't you think?"
"The boy's my son. Charmaine, please don't ask me to turn my back on him."
"He's your son, what did you do, did you dial Maury on the spot?" she spat, "You have a daughter down the hall and an unborn child on the way, both of whom you know for a fact are yours, they're not from some fuck and dash. So why are you so torn up over a child you were never supposed to know about?"
Rick couldn't believe his ears. He knew Charmaine would be upset, but this was something else entirely.
"Charr, I'm not leaving my family, it's quite the opposite, our family's growing. I'm not Bob. I don't flit from flower to flower like a God-damn bee and move on the moment life gets real. Teia deserves to know her brother and he deserves to know his sister."
"It's her, isn't it? The woman who picked you up that night."
"Yes."
