"Mija, wake up." Camila said, "We're almost there."

The twenty four year old next to her, her daughter Luz, was sleeping in the passenger seat, her beanie over her eyes to block the sun.

"I said to wake me when we get there, not before." Luz said, "I was up late last night."

"I told you to get some sleep, it was going to be a long ride."

"And I told you, that I can't leave the town without making sure it's safe." Luz said, fully waking up, "I don't even understand why we're moving all the way across the country, Connecticut was fine."

"I thought you would be happy to finally live somewhere warm like California." Camila said, "Besides, we'll live near the beach, doesn't that make you happy?"

"What, you expect me to tan? Don't know if you noticed mom, but my skin tone is kind of genetic." Luz said, leaning her head against the window, "Did we move because of me?"

Camila let out a sigh.

"No, Mija, I already told you, you aren't the reason we're moving." Camila said, "I already told you, I got a better job and-"

"And you can hang out with your long term girlfriend, I know." Luz said, "But I just can't help but feel like we're moving because of... my job."

"Luz, I told you, despite how much I dislike you going out and getting shot at, I understand that you want to try and make the world a better place." Camila said, "Just... try and lay low for a while, and try to not kill as much."

"I only kill when necessary. I understand that not everyone deserves to die for what they've done, and most of the time people only commit crimes out of desperation, but I don't kill them. I kill people that do serious crimes. People like drug dealers, serial killers, and pedophiles."

"I know, but maybe hold back a little. The last time you fought someone, you put them into a comma."

"They pulled my mask off, I couldn't let everyone know that the Vigilante called, 'Mr. Hardcore' is actually a woman."

Luz looked out the window and saw the Pacific Ocean, along with a sign that said, "Welcome to Bonesborough: The Nicest Place on Earth". Luz didn't pay attention to it that much, because she missed the part that was spray painted over to say, "The Strangest Place on Earth". Camila pulled down a road a little before the main town.

"Well, here we are, Lilith Manor." Camila said.

"Damn, mom, didn't know your fuck buddy was loaded." Luz said.

"Mija!"

"You turn a blind eye when I dress like a man and kill people, but swearing is where you draw the line?"

Camila parked the car and got out.

"Camila, it's been top long."

Camila smiled and placed her hands on Lilith's hips.

"Glad to see you again, Lily." Camila said.

The two kiss and Luz opens the trunk. She pulled out her suitcase with her clothes and her trunk with her... tools.

"Oh, Luz, it's nice to finally see you." Lilith said, "Let me help with that."

"No need. I got it."

Luz lifts the heavy trunk onto her shoulder all by herself, with no effort. Lilith looks surprised as the trunk alone weighs almost a hundred pounds.

"W-w-well, one of the Butlers will show you to your room." Lilith said.

"Sure, so what's there to do in this boring town?" Luz asked.

"I assure you, there's more to this town than meets that eye."

Lilith moved her hair so it covered her pointed ear.
